Hi Andrew
If you made Your own movie in iMovie. Just click on Share to iPod.
I was amazed over how easy it moved over.
If other material -try to convert it over to iMovie.
- Noting that it can be illegal to copy commersial copy-protected material -
I record my DVDs (made by me) with my Camera from a stand-alone DVD
player 60 min at a time.

  • Audio sync problem with videos imported from iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I used to shoot video at a family birthday party. When I imported the footage into iMovie '11, the audio is not in sync with the video (video is about two seconds behind audio) and there is only the left channel of audio. I verified that the video on the iPod plays just fine--no audio sync problem, both left and right channels work. I just upgraded to iOS 5 on the iPod Touch. The iMac is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
As a workaround, I can import the video into iPhoto instead. When I play the video in iPhoto, there are no audio sync problems and both channels of audio can be heard. I have imported other iPod Touch videos successfully into iMovie '11 in the past few months, but this has been the first time these problems have occurred. Any help would be appreciated.

Premiere cannot handle clips with variable framerate.
Your converted clips need to have constant framerate.
Otherwise use a converter like Handbrake.

I did this with my ipod nano and it worked just fine. But with my wife's ipod nano, I can't find the music folder in her ipod when I open it up by double-clicking on "My computer". I can see a contacts folder and a couple of others ("calendar" as I recall" and something else), but no music folder that I can copy.
    Any suggestions, anyone???

  • How do I import an iPod touch video back to my iPod once I've downloaded it to my Macbook??

I took a video on my new iPod touch. Transferred it to my Macbook. Now realize I want to be able to view it on my iPod. Once something is downloaded and deleted from my iPod, can I reverse that?

It'll need to be imported into iTunes first and then configured to sync to your iPod from under the Movies/Videos tab.

  • Is there any way to import from ipod back to itunes??

I have a problem... my hardrive over heated last week, and I lost EVERYTHING. I have to start completely over, and just redownloaded itunes to my fixed computer. luckily, I had a good amount of my music saved on my ipod. however, is there any way to import the other way around, and move music from my ipod back onto my computers and itunes??? i cant stand having an empty library!
    -briana

Bit of a pain but possible:
    1) My documents, tools, folder options, show hidden files
    2) open itunes
    3) edit, preferences
The most important bit coming up:
    4) LEAVE PREFERENCES OPEN THROUGHOUT WHOLE PROCESS, OTHERWISE IPOD WILL BE WIPED.
    5) plug in ipod
    6) open my computer
    7) ipod should be in devices with removable storage
    8) into ipod
    9) into ipod control
    10) into music
    11) select all
    12) copy
    13) into my documents
    14) into my music
    15) into itunes (folder)
    16) into itunes music (folder)
    17) paste
    when the paste has finished:
    18) use remove ipod icon on toolbar to get ipod disconnected safely
    19) into itunes program
    20) close preferences
    21) file, add folder to library
    22) find your way back to itunes music folder
and there it all is. Go back to hiding hidden folders in tools, folder options when done, or they can get in the way (or deleted by mistake!)
no idea how to do any of this on a mac, i'm a PC user!
    take it easy,

  • How to import from ipod to new os and itunes?

Had to replace my hard drive and reinstall itunes. How do i import the songs from the ipod to itunes? The music that is on the ipod was lost with the old hard drive. I hope there is some way besides updating the ipod with itunes erasing everything.

    Stanman,
These links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring playlists, ratings, playcounts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…
Don King Resurrected: Deleted files from hard drive (free user steps – music recovery only)
MacMuse: Computer Crashed (free user steps – music recovery only)
Copying music from iPod to computer (a primer on various methods and software)
Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC (resource for 3rd party software)
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
XPlay (Software For Cross-Platform Functionality & Music Recovery)
XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation.
You need at least three sets of your music:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes
-- One full set on an external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and the computer is not considered having any backup. If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer, then create and maintain two external sets.
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl).
Here is a post on developing a backup strategy: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=210939&messageID=1215125

  • Best settings for importing to iPod classic

Have a lot of music on my ipod that I have imported at low quality settings. Am going to take some time re-doing this so would like to know the best settings for the best quality sound. Have plenty of room and would prefer a richer sound rather than more quantity.
    Many thanks.
(I assume I would put the old track in the recycle bin and then import the new track.

  • Import from iPod to Computer (Stolen Computer)

Costs only $8 and is really worth it; fun thing about this is that it can be placed on your iPod; it will work when run off the iPod. This means you can retrieve your music from your iPod on any mac.

  • Can't import from ipod to Mac OSx10.6.8

In iPhoto, it says, "there are no items to import" when I have my iPod (ios 6.1.6) connected with a USB.  I have a Mac OSx 10.6.8 with iPhoto 6.0.6.  Last night, when I attempted to import the photos, the correct photos were flashing on screen as they imported, but then, what looked like simple clipart began flashing in an endless cycle. iPhoto froze up and I had to force quit. I tried it again and the same thing happened. Then, this morning, it now says there are no items to import. When I first open iPhoto, a window appeared saying, "1050 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library folder that were not imported". I'm not sure if I should try this because of the clipart.
What I need to be able to do on a regular basis is import photos so that I can upload them onto my work website as efficiently as possible with what I have.  Can someone please help me!  Thank you.

Well efficiently is always going to be an issue with software that's not updated in eight years.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Changes to audio book import / general iPod accessibility

I find it really frustrating that I had to pay for 3rd party software to be able to easily put CDs of audio books into the Audio Books folder of iTunes and my iPod. Why doesn't Apple address this issue in their next iTunes update?
    Sarah
PS. Are there any products that would make an iPod more accessible to visually impaired people, perhaps by speaking the names of albums etc as you scroll down?

  • Files in library but won't import to ipod

I have @8200 songs in my itunes library. When I hooked up my new 60G ipod files transfered fine, although my ipod says I have 8194 songs, it is only using up 28G of space (it is using 42G in my library). I found out why. I went to play some songs on my ipod today and it just scans through all of the tracks on the album and then defaults back to the menu. Some songs play...some don't. When I right click on the song in my library and click get info, it has the right directory address and everything. All the songs play fine in my library, just not on my ipod. All of the songs are listed on my ipod, they just won't play. I have tried updating over and over. I have reloaded itunes software. I have tried consolidating library...nothing works. Any suggestions please?

If the skipping songs are purchased iTMS music, then make sure that you have the latest versions of iTunes and the iPod firmware installed. Then authorize the songs by playing one of them for a few seconds.
If the songs are all imported AAC or MP3 files, then it may be an iPod memory management issue.
Restore Your iPod and reload the music back onto the iPod, from your iTunes.
If the Restore & Reload does not work, see: “Strange iPod Behavior within Windows”

  • GarageBand Music wont import on iPod!

Okay, here is the deal, I made a song from GarageBand and want to import it onto my iPod shuffle 1 GB. I am using my dad's new iMac G5 2.1 GHZ Power PC with the latest iTunes, and GarageBand 3.0.2. What I did was on GarageBand went to Share>Send to iTunes. My shuffle currently has 542 MBs of memory left and its a 2 minute song. Also, when I want to send a song from a retail CD I bought or the iTunes Music Store, it works, just not from the songs I made from GarageBand. I couln't imagine this would be for a discussion for iPod Shuffle since I dont think its the Shuffle's fault.

Changing the format into MP3 or AAC or Apple Lossless compresses the audio file, using special calculating algoritms.
As the name implies, conversion to Apple Lossless, compresses the file, but does not loose audio information.
Conversion to MP3 or AAC, compresses the files and 'throws away' some audio information to achieve smaller file sizes.
AAC is considered to do a better job than MP3 at the same bit rate.
Compare these average file sizes (in MB/minute) to get an idea:
    AIFF - uncompressed - 10 MB
    Apple Lossless - compressed - 5 MB
    MP3 or AAC 128 kbps - compressed (lossy) - 1MB
    M
    Edit:
Forgot to mention that converting in iTunes, by using the 'Convert Selection to xxx' in the Advanced menu, creates a copy of the original.
The copy is added to the library.
When you set your iPod shuffle to convert, the files are converted 'on the fly', which does not result in copies.

  • IPhoto displays incorrect dates for photos imported from iPod

I recently purchased the iPod Camera Connector for use with my 4G iPod with color display (iPod Photo). I took a few pictures on my Canon SD110 digital camera and used the Camera Connector to copy the pictures to my iPod. I then plugged the iPod into the computer, opened iPhoto, and imported these pictures from the iPod. All of this worked without a hitch.
However, I noticed that the roll of images that iPhoto created is dated incorrectly (it says 12.31.2000). The photos themselves have the correct date (5.21.2007) but the incorrect time (3:15p instead of 6:15p).
My camera, computer, and iPod are all set to the correct date and time. Any idea what's causing this? It's not a particularly big deal as I can just change the dates on the rolls to match what the photos say (and adjust the times on the photos to be 3 hours ahead), but I shouldn't have to do this if all of the date/time information is set correctly.

All photos from the My Photo Stream go into a monthly Event.  If you sort your Events by Date - Descending the most recent Events will be at the top of the Event window.  The monthly Events will look like this:

  • IPhoto 6 not printing photos imported from iPod Movie

Thought I had it beat, on a 6 week tour of Europe I downloaded all my photos (2,500) from my digital camera straight onto my iPod movie. This worked beautifully. Could even preview photos on iPod. Got home, imported all photos from the iPod onto my iMac PowerPC G4 using iPhoto 6 - v6.0.6, the leftover photos on my digital camera went straight onto the iMac.
Trouble is the photos that were downloaded from the iPod will NOT print. The photos in the folder downloaded from the camera WILL print. All photos can be viewed and edited but the photos that were stored on the iPod simply will not print.
What do I need to do to get these photos to print?

Are you sure there are no updates for iPhoto 6 waiting for you to install?
Run software update and be sure.
    Regards
    TD
