Importing users from LDAP source

Importing users from LDAP source, "first name"/"last name" are not imported.
Is there a way to get those from LDAP source?

Not currently. This is something we expect in a release late this year/early next as we introduce additional LDAP support enhancements.

Hello,
I have a problem integrating an LDAP server in the Security Manager of the Administration tool.
When trying to import users from an LDAP Server, i receive this error>
"53002 - LDAP server referral is not supported."

The configuration of the LDAP server is correct because i receive this message after configuring the connection>
"LDAP Server connected succesfully".
The version of the Oracle Administration Tool is> 10.1.3.4.1.090414.1900
The specifications of the LDAP server are> Active Directory service in Microsoft Windows 2003 Server R2 x64.

OIA-OIM Integration, Error while trying to import users from OIM to OIA

Hi Experts,
I have used depreciation method to integrate OIA 11gR1 with OIM 9.1.0.2 BP13.
When I am trying to import Users from OIM to OIA, I am getting the following error: " failed reading the magic number mapping file"

I solved the above error by removing oscache***.jar file and keeping only oscache.jar in lib directory.
However I am getting some other error this time. Let me know if you have any suggestions:

Since Apple's last Update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from any source. I receive a message saying, Importing photos but nothing happens. When I click on Stop Import, nothing happens. I must press the On/Off button to exit iPhoto.

Since Apples last update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from ANY source. When I attempt to do so, I receive the message "Import Preparing to inmport..." I've waited 10 minutes but nothing happens. When I click on the icon, Stop Import, nothing happens. When I attempt to Close iPhoto i receive the message, "Photos are being imported to the photo library. Please wait for import to complete." When I click on OK, nothing happens. The only way I can exit iPhoto is to press the On/Off button.

After loading this file I was sucessful in importing photos from a web site, my camera memory card and a CD containing photos.
That is a good news. We now know, that iPhoto is working as expected, when you are switching to a different library.
But this is puzzling:
I then see a box with two Librarys listed, both have the same name except for the following and are listed as:
iPhoto Library.photolibrary but one has (default) after its name which is the one which is always displayed when I load iPhoto.
Underneath the box is written:
/Users/paulfkardian/Pictures/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
Underneath this are three boxes titled: Other Library Create New Choose
I highlighted the the File without the (default) after its name and clicked on Choose. A Library was loaded which had my photos (about 9,822) from about 7 months ago. Underneath the box is written diferently than the file always loaded and says:
/Users/paulfkardian/Pictures (original)/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
You are having two "Pictures" folders in your Home folder, Pictures and Pictures (original)? And each has a different iPhoto library - one working correctly, and one not? Do you remember, when this second "Pictures" folder has been created and what caused it? Did you restore your Home folder from a backup some time ago?

Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.

Date parse error while importing users from OIM to OIA (SRM 5.0.3)

Hi All,
Env Details:
OIA (SRM 5.0.3), Weblogic and Oracle 10g DB
We have integrated OIM to OIA with extended attributes mapping by modifying iam-context.xml file to load users. Its done successfully. But when we map "Date" related attribute, its giving "Date Parsing error" and its not loading the users.
We have tried loading users using flatFile mechanism, its also giving same result.
Please suggest me. Thanks in Advance !!!

Hi,
Its a problem with OOB's OIMIAMSolution.class file, which is called while importing users from OIM. It used DateParse () conversion method only for all attributes which OIA attributes' name is ends with "Date". It defined, the conversion of date from (yyyy-MM-dd). So its expecting the input value should be in defined format(yyyy-MM-dd), if not, it gives a parse error.
We found work around for this as follows,
We have used other related OIA attribute which name ends other than "Date" string.

Have you set the xhost as ROOT (xhost +hostname), and then as the ORACLE user type "export DISPLAY:0.0" (without the quotes of course) ? This needs to be done prior to running the installer. Try this site for further information - http://www.puschitz.com/OracleOnLinux.shtml

Import users from BIAR file -- users not listed in import screen of Wizard

Hi,
we try to import users from a BO XI R2 SP4 running on Windows to our BO XI R2 SP4 running on Linux (both use Oracle database).
When I try to import users with the Import Wizard, I can't see the list of users so at the end of the import and show in the log --> 0 user simported.
I have activate the trace on Wizard import but don't see errors in the log files.
Also I open the file with a ZIP tool and I can see that it contains data.
So why this ?

It is what we do, we use directlty the user: Adminsitrator.
I have also set the -trace parameter on the Wizard import but nothing special in the trace about any errors or warnings. (nothing).

Importing Users from external table in obiee 11g

Hi Every one,
Do any one help me giving suggestions that how we can import users from external table.
I am using obiee 11.1.1.6.
In that external table Which i am using there are 56K users.
They are able to login to obiee analytics.
But for setting object level security I need to make diffrent groups with these users to assign the dashbords and required objects in front end.
But how can we get all these users into BI server or presentation server to make them into groups.

or if your lowest level is the same like
Day->month->year->Total
Day->businessMonth->businessyear->Total
Then yes, it is.
Create the first, then you start to create the second by adding your top(business year) level on the same level as the one you have (year) both under your total.
Then when you would add your second base level, there is a special option for it, something like use other hierarchy level/shared level (sorry can't recall and does not have a connection right now) then you select your existing day level under your businessmonth level.

When i try to import user from Oracle9iR2 to Oracle10GR2 at the end of procedure,

What version of the client is your Toad install using? Try using the 10g client if you are not already using it.
If you are still having problems, you can use the export and import commands that Oracle ships with the client.

it seems that your configuration is set to jboss and not weblogic

Ensure that the following $XL_HOME/xellerate/lib/.jar files are present in the $RBACX_HOME/WEB-INF/lib folder:
* wlXLSecurityProviders.jar
* xlAuthentication.jar
For WebLogic server copy * oim_design_console\xlclient\ext\wlfullclient.jar

I can conn Ldap, but when I try to import user in the BI Administrator took, the error pop up "Not supported for Active services".

Yes, it is possible against AD - we've done it successfully.
There are a few links out there that's applicable:

Some of the snags we ran into (might be different in your case):
- If LDAP version 3 doesn't work, try 2.
- Our User attribute is sAMAccountName
You might also get a sizelimit error when trying to import users. Look at my previous post on this at Re: LDAP Authenticationj with OBIEE
Note:
Why you need to import users in your admin tool -- what purpose your importing user in your rpd?
If it is for authentication purpose - no need to import users in your rpd.
Once you have set up your LDAP details on the rpd, do not import the users.
OBI will connect to the LDAP server and complete the authentication piece.
Now to authorize, you would need an external table. Here are instruction on how to set up that:

In addition to the LDAP authentication you need to populate the GROUP variable (also shown in above link). This is where the relationship between users and groups is loaded. This normally requires the USERS=>GROUPS relationship to be in an external table although there are other ways to do it from LDAP such as in [this example|http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/10/12/oracle-bi-ee-101332-and-oid-user-and-group-phase-2/].

It is generally not a best practice to touch your directory server directly. If you're just playing around for learning purposes its ok. Otherwise, from an implementation perspective, do not try accessing DS directly.
I will try giving u a solution if u use legacy mode of AM. I'm still learning about realm mode, but i guess such scenarios are mostly common between the two.
You can use the amadmin command found in /opt/SUNWam/bin or in windows c:\program files\sun\javaes5\identity\bin. You have sample XML file pcDeleteRequests. You could use this to delete just one or few users.
The sample is
<Requests>
<PeopleContainerRequests DN="ou=People1,dc=example,dc=com">
     <DeleteUsers>
     <DN>uid=dpUser,ou=People1,dc=example,dc=com</DN>
     </DeleteUsers>
</PeopleContainerRequests>
</Requests>
Make an XML, run this command : amadmin -u "uid=amadmin,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com" -w <password> -t <your_file>

Query list of users from LDAP

I am trying to programatically query the list of users belonging to a particular user-group, from LDAP.
LDAP is deployed on Weblogic as a 'provider'.
I have the following details of the LDAP instance - host:port, security principal (CN=aaa,OU=bbb,OU=ccc,DC=ddd,DC=com), LDAP password (credential), User Base DN.
I tried the following using BPEL:

slight change in my approach here:
I would like to use welogic provider to connect to this LDAP
so... instead of MyProgram --> LDAP, it should now be MyProgram --> Weblogic/SecurityRealms/myrealm/Providers/myAuthenticator --> LDAP
in this guess, i wont be using LDAP connection details, instead the weblogic host/port and Authenticator name should be sufficient
How can I programatically query the list of users using this approach?
