Importing virtually any cd

When trying to import music, my itunes will start to import songs but on virtually every cd i try, it will not even get through an entire song before it stalls for at least 10 minutes, and if you try to change any settings or eject the cd then itunes will completely freeze up and have to be restarted. Once it has stalled on a song, even if it starts importing again the only music stored in itunes is from before the stall. I'm using windows vista and have the newest itunes upgrades. i've also completely reinstalled itunes with no change. PLEASE HELP!!!

Suggest you look at the CD's you are ripping. Damage to the surface of the CD causes precisely this problem on my system. It is possible to polish out scratches. There is also a setting on the advanced acquire window ( where you select your desired output format and quality) that allows you to tell the computer to try to "fix" any problems. This works pretty well on my system, but it does eat up some time ripping down the CD if there are scratches and dropouts. It is also not perfect, and there is a limit to what it can correct. Clean the CD with windex before ripping, and a lot of problems go away....

    What Tom said.
Or you may be able to import using a different program - try with Quicktime Player, "New Movie Recording". If the camera appears as an option, it should work.

  • Convert virtually any CAD file into a PDF document .

Can Acrobat X Pro Convert virtually any CAD file into a PDF document using templates?
Earlier Acrobat 9 Pro Extended used to be ?

In the latest version of Acrobat the grammer was added to allow embedding a swf file. Unfortunately the Designer (the tools for getting the swf in there) lags behind and will be there in a future release. So if you really want this you must do it by hand and it will only work in Acrobat/Reader 10.
Here is a blog entry that describes how to do it:

Lightroom says "Your Lightroom 5 64-bit does not work correctly"
    Technical informations:
    PC with Windows 7 64-bit, Lightroom 5.7.1 64-bit installed.
    What I have done:
I downloaded the newest LR 5.71 and installed it again - mode repair; without success
I checked my PC with Norton 360: full scanning and optimizing registry
I restarted the PC and than I installed the LR 5.7 again - repair
    Trouble 1:
Two days ago I could work with my LR 5 and to import pictures from a SD was no problem. Now I can start LR 5 and I can watch/modify pictures, but as soon as I try to import new pictures LR 5 stops and gives the message "your LR 5 64-bit does not work correctly - searching for solution". I have not changed anything in my computer since lasttime LR 5 worked properly, only the registry was optimized by Norton 360.
    Trouble 2:
I live in Switzerland and my language ist German. I dit not find a place where I can present my problem in German, e.g. a phone number oder email-address oder german-chat. My English is to week for a discussion for computer problems and do understand it.
    Help:
I would very appreciate if anybody can help me, either to trouble 1 or to trouble 2. Thanks.

If you are seeing your photos in "Last Import", the photos are somewhere in your library. Perhaps the dates are wrong, and you do not see the photos arranged by date, where you expect them to be.
Select one of the photos on "Last Import", then ctrl-click it and select "Show in Event".  That will take you to the event in event view.

Don't know how long it would take to import that many photos but if you stopped import and ejected the card ther is something else wrong here.
I would Force Quit iPhoto. Then Restart your mac. Then restart iphoto to see if any or all of your photos were imported. If they ae you're good to go. If they were not imported I would try importing fewer photos at a time and see what happens.

  • I cannot close or import or any function to iphoto.  I have been getting the same message for many days "Photos are being imported to the photo library.  Please wait for import to complete."  I do not know where the photos would be importing from.

I cannot close or import or any function to iphoto.  I have been getting the same message for many days "Photos are being imported to the photo library.  Please wait for import to complete."  I do not know where the photos would be importing from.  How do I get it to proceed?

After Force Quitting, as LarryHN recommended,
Select the iPhoto Library in the Finder. By default it is in your Pictures folder.
Ctrl-click or right-click the iPhoto lIbrary. Select "Show package contents" from the panel, that will pop up.
Look for a folder named "Importing" or "Import". Remove this folder, but don't touch anything else.
    Then launch iPhoto again.
If iPhoto now is working again, check the folder you removed, if there are any photos that you want to keep and save them.

  • Unable to import/preview any video file using Lightroom 5/5.2

    Hi,
I am a fairly new user to Lightroom (around 4 months), and have been fascinated by the capabilities of this software when it comes to photos. From the start, I used to notice (but chose to ignore) that lightroom would not be able to import any of my video files successfully (all in supported formats such as avi, mov, mp4, usually mov from my Nikon DSLR). Recently, I have started digging around to find a solution for this and fix this issue of not being able to preview or import any video file. I have gone through most of the related posts around the interwebs about this (including installing QuickTime, checking my AntiVirus, checking specific processes whether they are running or not). As a last attempt to resolve this, I am hoping to get some expert help on this form. As a sample of the error message which I get to see everytime is attached below. Also given below is my system info. I can provide further debugging information if required, but I really, desperately want this to work and be able to import videos. Thanks a bunch!

  • Importing Virtual Machines

I have a hyper-v server that got the BSOD so I reinstalled the OS and my machines were saved on another drive.  I tried to import the vms but I can't get the network connectivity going.  I created a virtual switch (VLAN 98 Port 1) but its not
allowing me to connect to anything from the virtual machine.  Please help.  Thanks.

    NOC, I'll assume you're using Server 2012 R2 on your Hyper-V host.
    I recommend the following steps:
    - Verify your Hyper-V settings like:
It's domain joined (you'll need that for live-migration)
Check Hyper-V setting. Make sure your Virtual Hard Disk and Virtual Machine settings default to where you want them. Check Live-migration and storage migration settings. Make sure they match the standard set for your environment.
Check your Virtual Switch Manager settings. vSwitch name must match exactly the same vSwitch name on other Hyper-V hosts in your environment to allow live-migration. It's typically set as an external switch. Make sure it's connected the correct NIC from
the drop down menu (the one with access to VLAN 98 in your case). If you want to give the parent partition access to this VLAN check the Allow Management OS.. box. If your physical switch port is configured as truck port (no VLAN 802.1q tagging) check the
Enable VLAN ID.. box and enter the VLAN ID 98 below that.
    - If we're talking about a handful of VMs (under 10), you can recreate them from scratch using the VHDX files. Point the VM disks to the existing disks. You don;t need any files from the old VMs except the VHD/VHDX files. Setup memory/cores/vNICs/... In
most environments you would have this documented some where.. Assuming your physical switch port is configured as trunk port, you would VLAN tag your frames for each VM NIC. Check the Enable VLAN ID and enter the VLAN ID.
Finally start the VM, log in with local admin credentials. The VM will have a new VNIC because of new MAC address presented by the new Hyper-V host. Enter the static IP desired, and verify communication (ping) other machines on the 98 VLAN.
    - If we're talking about dozens or hundreds of VMs, I recommend using Powershell. Most of the scripts you'll need for this task can be found here http://superwidgets.wordpress.com/category/powershell/

  • VDI Early Acess 3 - Importing Virtual Machines

I'm playing around with the new V3 early access release of VDI. Everying is fine however I'm getting stuck at one point.
I've created the new virtual machine and moved them to /var/tmp. I've then gone to import them into the VDI host, however each time I try and do this it seems to fail straight away. There doesnt immediatly seem to be any way of checking to see why its failed.
It made the connection with the ZFS server ok, and I can transfer files between the two ok.
I've followed the instrcutions for setting up a demo to the letter of the law, including giving the host memory the necessary swap space etc.
Is there anywhere I should be looking, or can anyone give any help.

Host is a quad core Intel 6600, so is 64 bit.
The ZFS server runiing opensolaris 2008.11 with SUNWiscsi and SunWiscsitgt installed (i did this through the package manager and not the CLI as shown . The ZFS server is only a 2GHZ Pentium 4 - does the ZFS server have to be a certain spec.
I've also installed VDI aware VirtualBox package that came with V3 early release. This is on the same machine that i'm running VDI on - is this ok as I see in the instructions that it talks about moving the vdi and xml images to the host system.
I was trying to import an opensolaris VM. Does this make any difference - can it only be windows or a linux guest as I see that these are the only ones supported.
Now I know where to look for the logging I will see if its giving me any clues as to what is happening.

  • My source audio isn't importing. Any ideas for how to fix?

The audio is there. I've watched it in VLC, and the audio is there. Whenever I import the footage, though, it goes missing. Any ideas for how to fix it?

    Welcome to the forum.
First, more information would be useful. See this FAQ Entry for what info will help: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/961741?tstart=0
Also, when you Import your AV file, do you allow PrPro time to Conform the Audio portion? For more info on Conforming, Indexing and PEK file creation, see this article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3892177#3892177

  • ITunes will not play/allow import of any audio files

I have iTunes installed via Windows 7. Yesterday, iTunes stopped playing any audio files. I first noticed this problem after streaming music to my apple TV went bonkers. I tunes would play the first 3 seconds of a song and go onto the next one, even though all music played fine through iCloud on my apple TV.  Afterwords all audio files just stopped playing with an error. Before this time everything worked fine.
I double click on them or right click on play and nothing happens, period. Of note, almost all the artwork that was associated with the audio files has also disappeared in itunes.  I can still play video files with sound through itunes without any problem. I can play all music through quicktime, vlc, etc. without any issue. I can also link to my pc-itunes library and play the same music through iTunes installed on my mac without issue. I can play samples fine through itunes via the itunes store.
I tried I have tried unistalling iTunes, Quicktime, etc. (following Apple's recomendations for unistalling) with subsequent reinstalls now 3 times. I even paid good money for RegCure Pro to clean the registry - still the same problem.
I also cannot import audio files into itunes on my pc now either - dragging and dropping as well as, going through the menu - nothing works!
This has got to be the most frustrating issue that I have had to deal with on a computer!
    Please help!

I have now discovered the problem. The hard drive that I was using for iTunes was Dirty; meaning that something was corrupted. As a result I had to copy all file to a temp location and reformat the drive. This solved the problem. Of note, I had formatted the drive the first time using exFAT in hopes of being apple to use if needed with my mac mini.
