Importing WAV file with Flash Cue Points Premiere Pro CS6

I want to import a Japanese voice-over . WAV file which has Flash cue points marked in it so that I can clearly identify edit points on the video timeline when I import it into Premiere pro CS6.
Or is there another way of getting a voice-over artist to mark up audio so that I can clearly identify when certain words or phrases have been spoken? Trouble is, Japanese characters mean nothing to me! Usually this is not a problem with European languages like French and German, as I can easily mark up the script with a highlighter as I can follow the voice over on the supplied script, but Japanese characters mean nothing to me.
Please help.
Many thanks.

Premiere has a function now where you can import a clip and drag onto a timeline and it will prompt you with a message about changing the timeline settings to match your clip, (or if there is no timeline it will automatically create one that matches your clip.) This is in CC of course so you might consider upgrading. They have fixed a lot of compatibility issues from CS6 to now. If you don't want to get all of CC for 60/month then you can at least shell out 20/month on premiere. It's worth it. They've made it where you don't have to worry about 99% of all video formats. They just work.

  • Importing wav files with dead space?

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced slow loading times/overview calculations when importing wav files with lots of dead space into Logic?
Working on vocal comps from a Pro Tools session. Logic has no problem importing full takes (24-bit, 44kHz wav files that basically start at the beginning of the song). But alternate takes that might have complete silence until the 3rd chorus, for example, take forever to load. 10+ minutes in some cases.
If anyone can shed some light on this or share a similar experience, I'd appreciate it.
Tech details, if it helps:  Macbook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel Core Duo, 4GB RAM, Lion 10.7.2, Logic Pro 9.1.6

Well, iTunes has no ability to undo edits, so the problem may lie elsewhere. Please try the following extra-extra-careful procedure:
    - Edit the file and save it.
    - Exit the editor.
    - Make sure you know filename/location of the edited file, and that you are not confusing it with some unedited copy of the same song.
    - Play the edited file in some other player than iTunes and make sure the edits are as you wished.
    - Now, add the file to your iTunes library.
Pls try this and let us know.

  • D7000 files not working in Adobe Premiere pro CS6

I recently took a lot of video on my D7000 DSLR. All of my video I shot though when I import them into Adobe Premiere "breaks" the file plays perfectly on the computer strait from the file but the miniute I try to import them into Premiere the files show either black screens or fragments of other screens in the playback windows as if the files were corrupted. I know that they are not. I need to know what I am doing wrong, if I am, since I am brand new to the program, and how to fix it. I have tried the origional .MOV file which I have reserched says works native with CS6. I also tried converting the file to .mpg. Both ways the files act the same. I have the settings for the project for DSLR at the proper resolution and frame rate also. I can hear the correct audio with the clip but simply the window is corrupted.
I am using 15" Macbook Pro Retina base model.
    Thanks for any help.

If you have the latest update for Premiere it contains updates for HiDPI display, which improves appearance on computers that use Retina Display, such as MacBook Pro computers

  • Exporting in H.264 gives me a Aac file of 0 kb in premiere pro cs6.

    Hey guyz,
I've been making a project of mixing video's en music peaces into a video. I have exported this project several times And first this was no problem at all.
The last few days it became a problem. After exporting my project in 35 hours it should have been completed. 100% was showing and i did not get any errors.
When i got to the output folder there are only 2 Aac files with 0 kb as memory. I've tried several things:
Changed the fps (25, 29,7)  and other options in exporting (youtube-file, vimeo file),
Exported a Avi file (this worked but this is not the export file i want due the loss of hd-quality),
    I have removed several videotracks,
    Help is very welcome!

  • Trouble with GPU Acceleration in Premiere Pro CS6 (GTX 670)

I recently bought a new GTX 670 with the hopes that it would accelerate my video editing in Premiere. After using the "nVidia hack" to add it to the list of CUDA supported cards, I started up Premiere, enabled GPU acceleration in the general project preferences window, and was disappointed to find that my performance appeared to be identical to what I had experienced with my non compatible HD 6870s.
When I checked with MSI Afterburner, my GPU usage remained around 0%, even when playing through videos. I'm quite certain that my card was successfully added to the list, so I have no idea what's going on.
Is there any chance that I am misunderstanding what GPU acceleration is supposed to do? I'm very new to Premiere, so I don't know too much about it yet. The reason I bought my new card, aside from improved performance in 3D games, was to allow me to scrub through my project (comprised of 1080p AVI videos captured with FRAPS) without hiccups and poor FPS. Was this not a reasonable expectation for GPU rendering?
Here's a short list of my PC's specs if it's any help:
-Intel i5 2500k (currently not overclocked)
    -8GB DDR3 Dual Channel RAM (at 1600MHz)
    -1TB 7200RPM HDD
-nVidia GTX 670 OC 2GB VRAM
    -Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 Motherboard
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Did you go to project>project settings>general and verify that GPU (cuda) accleration is enabled? If it's set to software only then change it and see if that helps. If it's enabled my next question is what is the bitrate of your FRAPS videos? Because I have seen some fraps video's with bit-rates that are really high which would require a RAID array that is only holding video clips to playback smoothly. In your case it appears you have your OS and your apps and your footage all playing from the same 7200rpm drive. Which isn't really sufficent for 1080p editing. However it might be as simple as enabling it from within premiere pro like I mention earlier. If it's enabled though please check the bit-rate of your video you're attempting to edit with because I'm assuming that might be the issue.

  • Importing CAF files *with* text comments

I'm using an iPhone program while filming documentaries.  The app is called Cohdoo Highlight, which allows me to mark a segment of the audio and name it with text.  I'm doing this while the camera is running.
Ideally, I'd like to bring in the CAF files with the text into Premiere Pro CS6.  The forum posts suggest ways of converting the CAF file, but makes no reference to retaining the text.
    Any suggestions?
Fundamentally, I'm trying to "mark" the good stuff live, while my DSLR is filming, so I can know where to find the soundbytes later.   Would love any suggestions which might accomplish that goal.
    Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Jim!  I appreciate it.  I'm a one-man crew, so I'm trying to find ways to be more productive.    I am using a Canon 60D (dslr) with Magic Lantern -- which I love, btw.  The 'marking' option inside the camera + ML is not bad, but not awesome.

  • Importing .psd file with transparency in Premiere Pro CS4 titler

I am trying to import a psd file with transparency into the Premiere Pro CS4 titler and the transparency will not come in. I've tried psd, png, jpeg, gif, targa and none will preserve the transparency. What I'm trying to do is create a custom lower third using a image without having to build it inside the titler or drop the PSD directly onto my timeline. This seems like an easy task, but I'm not having any luck. Please help!

Boy you guys are quick. I did not find this thread until after you'd sorted it out. You know how much I like to work on PS to PrPro problems!
    Jeff,
You might want to move this thread to the PrPro sub-forum, as it will likely help others with PSD Transparency issues, and might never get seen back here.
Like you haven't been busy doing the housekeeping already. You moved one post WHILE I was replying to it. Imagine my surprise, when I replied and ended up in the other sub-forum - as if by magic!

  • Weird hissing bug in Premiere Pro CS6

I'm having a very strange problem with audio in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
Whenever I make a cut in an audio clip, a few seconds of broadband hiss is introduced into it after the cut. The hiss is only there in the exported video. It does not appear after every cut but about 10% of them.
The hiss is equally there when I export into different video/audio formats. It is there when I used different editing codecs. It might only be there for clips I recorded using some not so good microphones on a Canon 5D II, but the hiss only shows up after I make an audio edit and export the video/audio or just the audio. Sometimes though it shows up right away in PP before export. If I clean up the hiss in Audition for a given clip I no longer hear it in PP but again it reappears after export.
It seems like the problem shows up when editing video shot on a Canon 5D MII with the in camera mic or several shotgun mics, but not with a decent lavalier mic. Changing the edit and export codecs doesn't help the problem.
    (i7 960 3.3 GHz, Win 7 sp1 12GB, Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 1280MB, PP 6.02)

I have not encountered the "hissing bug"
But have encountered something similar to what you describe - but with differences.
When Audio is Cut at a point, that is not a Zero-Crossing, depending on the point on the Waveform, that the Cut was made, there can be a "pop," at that spot. Adobe Audition has the ability to set Cut at Zero-Crossing, but I do not think that PrPro has that capability.
Now, all of my encounters with a non-Zero-Crossing Cut has been the formation of a Transient, which does sound just like a pop (not a hiss) sound. I have never heard a hiss, and I do not think that what you are hearing, is what I am, with non-Zero-Crossing Cuts - they just happen to appear AT an Audio Cut.
Still, you might want to look at the Waveform very closely, just to rule out non-Zero-Crossing Cuts, in case that IS causing what you observe, but just producing a different sound, due to the difference in your Audio material.
Also, have you done a side-by-side comparison in Audition between one of the files with the hiss, and the original sourse file? What differences do you see, where the Cut was made, if so?
Wish that I had more to offer than a slightly similar problem, with a different sound.
    Good luck,

  • Premiere pro CS6 and GeForce GTX 560 compatibility

Good morning, I would like to ask a question about the compatibility of my GPU (GeForce GTX560 2GB DDR5 Zotac) with the acceleration engine of Premiere Pro. When I create a project, in the settings project section, at general, at the "Rendering" voice, is indicated "Only Software Mercury Playback Engine" and I cannot choose anything from this menu. So I would like to understand if my GPU is compatible with the Playback Engine or not. Sorry for my basic english, I'm italian and the Adobe site has linked me this forum for the questions about Premiere CS6 software. I would buy a book about Premiere Pro CS6, but it will be useless if my gpu is not compatible with the engine acceleration.
If it's important to know for the reply, I have 16 gb RAM and an intel i7-3820 (sandy bridge) processor. The motherboard is a Sabertooth X79 S2011.
Thank you so much for the reply, bye

    Welcome to the forum!
Delete or move the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file out of the Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 folder.  When you restart Premiere Pro, your GTX560 will use accelerated GPU playback.

  • Annoying horizontal lines on preview Premiere Pro CS6

    Hello everybody
I have a problem with the previews of Premiere Pro cs6.
If i watch a clip on the preview player i see annoying horizontal lines, especially on fast clips, but if i watch the original clip in other player (WMP, Quicktime) it's alright.
I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 760 with the last driver version (337.88)
This problem is present in every at any resolution.
    Someone can help me?
    Thanks a lot

Yes I think so too....i don't understand why the problem is only on Premiere cs6 and on VLC , but not on other players (WMP or Quicktime); there is no problem on those.
I think I'll do a format of my pc....
    Thanks however for helping!

  • Premiere, Media Encoder and Flash Cue Points - bug?

I've been encoding a number of FLV On2 VP6 videos recently and using the new Media Encoder. For this project we need flash cue points (nav and event). I've discovered some weird things in Media Encoder - it's been duplicating cue points (or maybe the export from Premiere is buggy with cue points?).
I've seen the first couple of cue points getting duplicated with the first letter of the name capitalised and moved a frame on in time - very weird.
    Anyone else seen this behaviour?
    Paul.

OK, I think I've found out why - not a bug - user misunderstanding!!!  (although tricky to find!)
Some of my source footage was created in After Effects. It turns out that there were a couple of cue points in the AE comp that had similar names to the cue points in Premiere - the AE comp was saved out to an AVI (with metadata enabled I think).
Premiere wasn't seeing this metadata and the cue points, but Media Encoder was (and it couldn't be deleted in ME - just kept coming back).
So - moral of the story - be careful with metadata!!!
I guess that Premiere should really show this embedded data though?
    Paul.

  • Tempo problems with imported wav files

Hey everyone, sorry if there's a quick fix for this in the forums that I couldn't find, but I've been having some tempo problems with imported .wav files.
Long story short, my system couldn't handle playing all the tracks for a song while recording drums, so I bounced out an mp3 of the song and put it in a new Logic file so my drummer could just play along to that as I recorded him. Unfortunately, the original song is at 167 bpm, but I forgot to change the bpm in the new Logic file with the .mp3 file of the song to 167 bpm, so it was left at the default 120 bpm.
So, the drums were recorded at the correct 167 bpm, but Logic thinks that those new drum .wav files should be played at 120 bpm, so when I import my drum tracks back into the original file, they do not play correctly at all.
I could get record it all again, but I wanted to check if there was a way I could salvage what I already have, since my drummer lives about an hour away right now and can't just come over whenever he wants.
Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it.

    Hi,
First, do not use MP3 in Logic, the sound quality is less than AIFF, WAV or CAF, and Logic has to decode it for playback, making it a heavier burden on the CPU than an uncoded audiofile, such as AIFF, WAV or CAF.
Secondly, audio files are independent of Logic's tempo. If you bounce down an audio file in any format (other than Apple Loop), it will play back at the same speed, +regardless of Logics' tempo setting+, either at recording or playback. Logic doesn't 'think' anything. The BPM is only important to MIDI tracks, or to the spacing between audio files. The audio files themselves *are not affected* by the tempo setting. If you import an audio file of tempo 167 into a 120 BPM project, the file will still play at 167, only Logic will indicate the wrong bar positions.
    regards, Erik.
