Importing weekly or monthly Forecasts for MRP

I would like to import a weekly or monthly Sales Forecast for MRP using the DTW.
If it is possible, can anyone tell me how? The DTW templates seems to expect Daily forecasts.
As a second question, the DTW template for the Forecast headers has a field called Numerator. Can anyone tell me what it is used for?
Regards,
Douglas

I wondered if the Numerator was a setting for the forecast type. However, it seems to be OFCT.AbsId - the internal key of the forecast.
That means that it looks like DTW does not have a field to set OFCT.FormView, so you cannot import forecasts other than Daily.
Can anyone confirm if that is the case?

Douglas

  • How to Import a Forecast & set the view to Weekly or Monthly

As I understand currently it is not possiblt to import a Forecast to set the view to Daily, Weekly or Monthly and the reason being for this is that in the database the forecasts are saved per day (this we can see in table FCT1). The view is at GUI level only.
Does anyone know a work around for this?

    Hello Ms Jones,
I am not sure about your question. What do you mean when you say 'import'?
The forcast for the MRP will  be saved according to your choice: daily, weekly or monthly.
    Thank you for your information.

  • Forecast for the current month

    Hello,
So we have a monthly forecast entered in SAP B1. When we run MRP, we use that forecast. However, for some reason current month's forecast is never taken into account.
Example: today is May 6th and the forecast for May is say 200 cases of item ABC.
I am running MRP starting 4/25 for the period of 12 weeks
The result is that May's forecast is always dropped. Instead, only June's forecast shows in MRP results. Why?
And if it matters, I've tried both "Consume and Non-Consume forecast options.
    Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi,
The forecast is only available from next period, either by month, week or day. In this case, you may consider short period for current month.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Best Practice for carrying forward monthly forecast data??

    Dear all:
I am in the process of building demo for monthly forecast. I have 12 forecast categories for each period of the fiscal year. However, I am wondering whether there is a best practice to carry forward data in current forecast (month) category into the next forecast (month) category, besides running a standard copy at every month end.
For instance, let's say I am in June, and I would forecast in a category named "JunFcst" for the period 2010.06, 2010.07, 2010.08... 2010.12. For the example purpose let's say I enter a value of 100 for each time period.
When next month comes, I would select "JulFcst", which is supposed to initially carry the numbers I have entered in JunFcst. In other words, 2010.07 ~ 2010.12 in JulFcst should show a value of 100. There is no need to carry forward data prior 2010.07 because these months have the actual already.
I know I can easily carry forward data in JunFcst to JulFcst category by running a standard copy data package, or perhaps use some allocation logic. But if I choose this approach, I will run the copy or allocation package at month end manually every month, or create/schedule a 12 unique copy data packages for each month respectively. Another approach is to use default logic to copy the data on the fly from JunFcst to JulFcst. I am less inclined to this because of the performance impact.
Is there anyway to create just one script logic that is intelligent enough to copy from one forecast category to another based on the current month? Is there a system function that can grab the current month info within the script logic?
    Thanks a bunch!
    Brian

Which business rule (i.e. transformation, carry-forward) do you suggest? I looked into carry-forward but didn't think it will work due to the fact that it carries forward within the same category. Also, because we currently do not use carry-forward, we do not have a sub-dimension created...
    Thank you!

  • Mandatory/Default field for mrp/forecast profile mrp area

    Dear guru,
In MM01/MM02 when i create a new mrp area for a material I want Mrp profile field and forecast profile field as mandatory field. Or as alternative solution purposed with a default.
How can I do that ?

    Dear Murugesan ,
in OMSR i make the mrp profile (MDMA-DISPR) and forecast profile (MDMA-PROPR)
as required entries in the screen sequence.
But when I create/change mrp area fields the system don’t consider as required these fields.
Are you sure that the field selection for data screen is concerning also for mrp area fields ?
    Thanks.

  • Creating a New Forecasting profile for MRP

    Hi there,
Please can somebody let me know how do I create a new Forecasting profile for MRP.
I want to see this in table MRPR once created.  (field PROPR).
    Kind Regards,

    Dear marelizen
    Use transactio code MP80.
    Creating a Profile
The information contained in this info object is relevant to the material master for industry and to the article master for retail. Retail customers are requested to substitute:
      article for material
requirements planning for material requirements planning or MRP
    1. In the Material Master menu, choose Profile ® MRP profile or Forecast profile ® Create.
    The initial screen appears.
    2. Enter the name you want to give the profile.
If you want to use an existing profile as a reference, enter its name under Copy from so that the system can copy its values to the new profile.
    3. Choose Selection screen.
The selection screen appears. It shows all the fields that can be copied to the MRP or Forecasting screen in the material master record.
    4. Enter a profile description and select the fields you want the profile to contain, specifying whether each field is to be copied to the material master record as a fixed value or as a default value.
It is not possible to select Fixed lot size and Maximum stock level in a single MRP profile. However, if you select Maximum stock level, you must also select Lot size (materials planning).5. Choose Data screen.
MRP profile data is spread over two screens. To switch from one screen to the other, choose Data screen 1 or Data screen 2.
When you access the data screen from the selection screen, the system checks whether the fields selected are allowed to appear in the same profile.
The data screen appears, containing only the fields you selected on the selection screen. The fixed values and default values are displayed in different colors. All fixed values are required fields except where the field can also be left blank.
If, in the forecast profile, you enter N or 0 as the forecast model, no forecast is made.
Like forecast model N, if you enter forecast model 0 when maintaining a forecast profile, you will be unable to maintain any other field in the profile.
Unlike forecast model N, forecast model 0 deletes any existing forecast values when you change the material. This ensures that these values are no longer included in materials planning.
    6. Enter the corresponding values and save the profile.
If the system detects inconsistencies or errors, it asks you to change the fields selected on the selection screen and/or to correct the values. Otherwise, the initial screen appears, where you can begin to create another profile.
    warm regards

I installed a creative Cloud a month ago for a free trial. Last week, i bought a licence of Lightroom 5. Now, how can i install and register my licence of Lightroom 5 on my computer?

That creative cloud installation of Lightroom will have to be uninstalled. It cannot be activated with the serial number you have. You can download the trial version from one of these two websites, and activate it with your serial number:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
You will not lose any of the work you may have done using the trial version. In the future, when posting questions it would really help if you would identify your operating system and other pertinent computer information.

  • Run Forecast for previuse period

We have certain materials with MRP type VM  and want to run forecast first The Period Indicator is M (month).
When user press the run Forecast button, a pop up screen periods appears and you should select a current period 8.2007 or next 9.2007 to run a forecast but for testing AND Due to business requirements, we upload consumption and open PO till 31-5 so we need to run forecast for 6.2007 period to compare values with legacy system before going life.

    Hello Chintamani,
Why you want to post the depreciation for future period?
Is the future fiscal year in open or is the posting period open for that? If no, please open that period with AJRW T code if you want to post the depreciation for future period but it is not recommendable.
Check the posting period once again because the given posting period belongs to future year? So please do re-chk and give correct period according to your current fiscal year.
You can get your fiscal year details and assignment of fiscal year variant to the co,code details in OB29 and OB37 t codes respectfully.
Check the OSS Note: 1150235 - Preventing depreciation posting run for future
I hope it helps else revert us with your query.

  • Interested in bringing Past Due forecast from MRP Forecast Sets to ASCP

We are on 12.1.3 (EBS and ASCP) and are interested in bringing a week of past due forecast from MRP Forecast set into ASCP. We are running EDD plan.
Following have been enabled but no luck yet, open to suggestions or explanations.
    1. Include Past Due Forecast = 5
    2. Spread Forecast Evenly = checked (as we are in weekly buckets)
    3. Demand Time Fence control = checked on plan options
    4. Item are enabled for Demand Time Fence days = 0
    5. Complete Collections and Plan have been ran.
Observation - Since the week start date is on Monday, when the plan ran from Tuesday, it brings the forecast for current week from Tuesday of that week onwards breaking into days. But it doesn't bring in forecast for Monday or prior week days.
Per ASCP guide, Include Past Due Forecast is useful only in case of Oracle Demand Planning.
Any help in this regards is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Sales order consuming current month forecast

    Hi All,
We are using weekly planning bucket in DP and weekly bucket in SNP. We are trying to release forecast in weekly bucket.
When forecast is getting released from DP to SNP it gets validity of one week. We would like to change forecast validity to one month.so any sales order within one month can consume the forecast.
Please let me know if its possible that slaes order should consume current month forecast only while releasing from DP to SNP?
any user exit we need to enhance for changing forecast validity to one month from one week?
    Hrishikesh

    Didn't understand your question.
You changed the schedule line date and it re-appeared in DP?

  • Forecasting for ERLA items?

We are trying to enter sales forecast for our ERLA materials and then pass the demand down to the components.
    Here is some background information:
ERLA items are FERTs, but are not inventoried
ERLA is the high-level item (kits) with material BOMs
ERLA items are priced and invoiced in the sales order
BOM components are inventoried and shipped to customers as unassembled kits
I tried to create a Product Group that mirrored the material BOM. Used Rough-cut planning to disaggregiate the demand down to the components. This works if the component only belongs to a single product group. If the component belongs to multiple product groups, the disaggregiation of the last product group overrode the earlier product group(s) data in the stock/requirements list. Our goal is to get the demand requirements down to the component level for production/procurement.
Is there another method of forecasting for these ERLA items and pass the components?
Is there some way to get the disaggregation to sum the demand at the component level, instead of overriding?

ERLA is item category group in material master, right?  FERT is your material type?  This is crucial since you can only run MRP for  quantity updating material (even though you will not have inventory for it).
    I also assume the following:
    1. You have sales BOM that explode in sales order to issue the stock at unassemblied kits  ERLA served as the pricing.
    2. You set the sales BOM to be able to used in MRP run as well.
This is a work around solution with some drawback.  Please try the following;  set the ERLA material with strategy planning w/o final assembly.  Maintain PIR at ERLA material.  System will explode the BOM and generate dependent requirement for unassembled kit.
Now if there is a sales order for ERLA material, sales order will consume PIR.  However, you will see double demand for sales order (assuming sales order BOM) for unassemblied kits and dependent requirement.  I recommend that you should not transfer the sales order requirement for unassemblied (setting at schedule line category in SD->Basic functions->Availability check ->transfer req -> define procedure for each scheduline line category).  This is to avoid double count of requirement for unassemblied kit.  You will need to run MRP at ERLA again to reflect the real demand of unassemblied kit (since sales order already consumed PIR).
    The drawback is:
    1. You will have convertible planned order at ERLA material for sales order.   You shouldn't do anything for this and make it firm then it will reflect the demand at the time you run MRP.  This is important since you need the planned order to pass the requirement to lower level.  You can't convert these to production order anyway since no routing is set up for ERLA.
    2.  You need to run MRP at ERLA level to reflect the real demand for unassemblied kit.
I actually used this solution for one of my client.
    Hope it helps.

  • View Outlook Calendar on iPhone In Day, Week, Or Month Views--NOT As A List

I apologize in advance if this has been asked already but couldn't find the answer after an extensive search.
My question is, after syncing my Outlook calendar to the iPhone, how can I view my appointments other than as a list in the iPhone? I would like to view my appointments in either day, week, or month views as opposed to only knowing what my next two or three appointments are. To me it just seems like a simple setting I'm overlooking somewhere. I appreciate any help you can afford
    Thanks in advance,
    -V5

*iPhone calendar views are a joke!*
My 90's Palm Vx had far more usable views via Pimlico Software. The gray scale display with poor resolution was able to show one or even two weeks with appointment texts.
What does iPhone have? List view is the best there is. One sees all appointments with only just scrolling. Day view is terrible. The whole day should be visible without scrolling for it to be at least somewhat efficient. Now one has to first select a day with arrows and after that scroll thru the day and after that select another day and scroll again. No way. Month view is very poorly designed! The grid takes way too much space and who decided to put the appointment list in the bottom of the screen when one's index finger blocks it if sliding thru days in the grid!!! Oh man!!! Unlock the landscape view and please make the grid a little bit smaller and please place the appointment list on the left or at least on the right side. And make its font way smaller! No point in seeing two appoinments without scrolling.
iPhone's wonderful screen would be able to show one or two weeks with written appointments in a list like manner especially landscape. I mean seven columns titled Mo-Su and all appointments listed in that day's column.
Hopefully SDK will let someone else do it if Apple won't.
And we have to get to copy appointments and paste them to other days also. I am spending 30 min writing the same info one at a time to our monthly plan. Everyone else is already having a cup of coffee.
