Imports gone after saving metadata.

My imports disappear if I want to save my metadata in the NWDS. Due to this errors appear and I cannot run my application.
Does anybody have a solution???

Hi Ouden,
What error you are getting?
If your project is DC project then add the necessary DCs in your project
•  In the Web Dynpro Explorer of the
   Web Dynpro perspective expand the
   Web Dynpro project.
•   Expand the nodes DC Meta Data =>
    DC Definition and right click on
    Used DCs.
•   Choose Add used DC…
•   A Add Dependency wizard will appear.
•   Choose the necessary DC required for your project
•   Check Dependency Type Build Time, Deploy Time and Run Time
•   Click on Finish.

  • Lightroom 3: file changes not propagating into Finder even after saving metadata?

    Hello,
    I have recently purchased Lightroom 3 and have spent the past couple days educating myself on the program.  I have developed a file in Lightroom and I am now trying to open it in Photoshop Elements 10. I am running into two problems.
    1. I have defined Elements as an additional external editor.  When I try to launch the photo in Elements, Elements launches, but the file never actually opens in the program. My options are as follows: Edit a copy w/ Lightroom Adj., PSD format, sRGB, 8 bits, Res 240, stack with Orig.. When I click edit, the PSD is created and visible within the Lightroom library.  I can drag and drop the PSD into Elements as a workaround.
    2.  When I look at the (.NEF/.jpg) file in Finder, none of my changes are apparent.  I have saved the metadata both manually, and updated my preferences to automatically update the metadata into an xmp file. This is the bigger problem for me because I would like to edit my photo's in both programs.
    Can anyone shed some light on why I am having these problems?
    Thanks!
    Angelique

    Thanks Lee.  Yes, I knew it was non-destructive, but I thought I saw on a tutorial that if you saved the metadata, it was embedded in the file as opposed to just in the Lightroom db, and that subsequently, other products (like Elements) would/should be able to recognize it.  It makes sense that Finder wouldn't see it, but I do wonder as to why Elements didn't see it (when I finally dragged and dropped from finder).
    Regardless, I exported to .dng and was able to open it Elements with the changed visible.
    Thank you so much for your response.  I am going to open a new thread as to why I am having the problem listed in point 1.
    Thanks again!

  • The 'Update Metadata' icon displays even after saving metadata

    After upgrading from v3 to v4.3, I opened my catalog (Lightroom made a copy of the file and converted it for v4.3). I didn't do anything to the images, but noticed several displayed the 'Update Metadata' icon. (I should note the 'update metadata automatically' option in the preferences is turned off to save ROM.)
    Since I update the metadata manually, it's possible I forgot to save these several files — but when I try to save them, the icon persistently returns within seconds, or when I scroll away and come back.
    I'm running an iMac with OS X 10.6.8 and 165 GB of disc space. The Lightroom files are on an external drive, and the images are DNGs.

    For DNG the best solution is to run the 'Update DNG Preview and Metadata' command, which can be found under the Metadata menu. This method builds a completely new DNG file before removing the old file.
    As to the cause - two known at present:
    1. Auto Exposure or Lens corrections, and
    2. Applying Spot Heal corrections with opacity less than 100%
    The first is complicated by the fact that it's also associated with updating of the thumbnail previews (basically a timing issue) and has been around for a long time, although not everyone sees it. The second is more recent and much easier to reproduce.
    Adobe engineering are aware of these bugs, but I supect that the fix is still some way off. The user level fix for both is as mentioned above, but further develop adjustments can result in it returning.

  • Audio gone after saving

    I made a movie with a audio file. I saved it as a flv and the audio saved fine. I couldn't figure out how to post that to my facebook so I saved it as a MPEG. The MPEG file has no audio at all. What;s the deal with that? Not the first time it's happened either. Am I missing something?

    I agree with Hunt. What type of camcorder did your video come from and how did you get it into your computer?
    It sounds like you're using video with an incompatible audio codec.

  • Import statement vanishes while saving metadata

    Hi
    I am facing a strange problem.When I am saving metadata the import statements are erased from the //begin import and // end section in the implementation section of a view.But all packages are present.
    Pease help

    Check if there are errors with the metadata of your project, see "Problems" view in Eclipse.
    Another possibility may be an exception in the NWDS, open the "PDE runtime" -> "Error log" view.
    Do you find anything that might cause the problem?

  • XMP metadata lost from PNG files after saveing

    Hello,
    i am using Photosop CS3 SDK. through my plug-in I put some metadata in the file using XMP SDK 4.4.2.
    For PNG files, if the file is modified and saved, all the XMP metadata is lost from the file.
    The following steps are being done.
    1. Put some metadata in PNG file using SXMPMeta::SetProperty and SXMPMeta::AppendArrayItem
    2. modify the file (changed brightness, contrast, flattened the image).
    3. Save this file.
    After saving all the xmp metadata is lost from the PNG file. This works for all other formats.
    What can be wrong that I am doing?
    Is there any other way to put XMP metadata in file?
    Thanks,
    Hitesh

    That's probably because PNG doesn't save or read XMP metadata.
    There really aren't standards for metadata in PNG. (though a few products have tried adding it in ad-hoc ways, without documenting their efforts)

  • Imported Objects Disappear After Saving

    I have been working on a project into which I've imported 4 Illustrator objects (If you look at the first image below, the objects are a lightpost, two figures, the word StoryFirst and the word Media). I saved the 4 objects as separate files in Illustrator and then imported each one as "Composition" while leaving the "Illustrator/PDF/EPS Sequence" box unchecked.
    After saving the AE project last night, I reopened the project this morning and found this:
    As you can see, the lightpost and figures objects are still visible in the composition pane, but the StoryFirst and Media objects have disappeared. The files are still listed in the project pane, however, and you can still select the object layers in the timeline and you will get the object wireframes in the composition pane as if they were still there, but the actual objects themselves are no longer visible. As you can see in the picture, when I select a layer of the StoryFirst object in the project pane, the mini-preview in the upper left corner doesn't even display it.
    I've tried closing and reopening the project a few times as well as toggling on and off the eye switch on each layer in the timeline, both to no avail. I also tried right clicking on each layer and choosing "Replace File" and bringing everything back in again new. This makes the objects reappear at the moment I have the project open, but as soon as I save the project again, close it and reopen it, they've disappeared again! All object files are in the same place in my hard drive as they've always been. AE never prompted me with an error message that it couldn't locate files. This is a very bizarre problem I've never encountered before.
    Any help in solving this mystery would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!

    In AI, check your layers palette and inspect the structure of your groups. There may be odd combinations of e.g. groups with empty clipping masks (that cover the entire artboard and are only there, because the graphics were imported from a legacy version of AI or another program). That could lead to misinterpretation where then AE would clip the entire artwork. Similarly, look for things like Livepaint groups or live pathfinder groups. Same for art brushes, pattern brushes, pattern fills etc. In case of doubt, always do an Object --> Expand, then select the artwork and choose "Release Clipping mask". Often a bit optimization will do wonders. Also, one thing that came to mind after I wrote my last reply, is to check your swatches. Since AE operates in RGB mode only, it may not deal correctly with spot color swatches (Pantone) and CMYK swatches...

  • Question about the Before/After/Test metadata tags

    i think that i have read all of the appropriate sections on the wiki but i am a little unclear on how/when i need to add extra info to the Before/After/Test metadata tags.
    thus far, i have not done any unit tests that require a component to be added to the display list.  i was reading the section on how to do that and i see that all of the above mentioned tags have extra info:
    [Before( async, ui )], [After( async, ui )] and [Test( async, ui )]
    what do those do and when/why do i need to use them?
    thanks
    additionally, i am trying to run this simple example derived from what's on the wiki and it always times out.
    package HM.FO.User {
    import mx.controls.Button;
    import mx.events.FlexEvent;
    import org.flexunit.Assert;
    import org.flexunit.async.Async;
    import org.fluint.uiImpersonation.UIImpersonator;
    public class UserWindowPresenterTest {
    //protected var window:UserWindow;
    protected var button:Button;
    [Before( async, ui )] public function setUp():void {
    //this.window = new UserWindow();
    this.button = new Button();
    //Async.proceedOnEvent( this, this.window, FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE, 20000 );
    Async.proceedOnEvent( this, this.button, FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE, 20000 );
    //UIImpersonator.addChild( this.window );
    UIImpersonator.addChild( this.button );
    [Before( async, ui )] public function tearDown():void {
    //UIImpersonator.removeChild( this.window );
    //this.window = null;
    UIImpersonator.removeChild( this.button );
    this.button = null;
    [Test( async, ui )] public function on_user_saved_clears_password_fields():void {
    // this.window.pass_txt.text = "foo";
    // this.window.pass_confirm_text.text = "bar";
    // var presenter:UserWindowPresenter = this.window.presenter as UserWindowPresenter;
    // presenter.on_user_saved( null );
    // Assert.assertNull( this.window.pass_txt.text );
    // Assert.assertNull( this.window.pass_confirm_text.text );
    Assert.assertTrue( true );

    Okay, so the async modified is used to indicate that the asynchronous statement will be used.
    There is a bit of overhead adding async to tests, so, we don't actually instantiate the code that handles Async unless the async attribute is in the Before, After or Test. If you don't place the async in these tags [Test(async)] and attempt to use the async code. Async.whatever... you will get an error.
    Regarding the ui, attribute, the same concept was intended to apply for ui elements... in other words we wouldn't build the necessary infrastructure.. that is an optimization and right now is not in play. so you will not see different behavior with or without the ui.
    If I copy your code directly from below and paste it in my environment it passes.

  • "Conflict Detected" and/or "Changed on Disk" immediately after saving

    My setup:
    I've got a workstation and a laptop (Win 7 x64) that I use Lightroom 4.1 on both.  When files are imported, they are saved to a Windows 2008 (x64) server that I have so that I can work from either machine.  Everything is connected via gigabit ethernet.
    The problem:
    Both installations of LR4.1 are set to save metadata immediately, however, this never seems to happen.  A conflict or change always seems to be detected and I have no clue why.  This means that my catalog ends up being the only place the changes are kept unless I manually save the metadata and overwrite the changes (which may write the changes, but the files seem to pop back up immediately as conflicted).  This is NOT a problem because I'm using two machines, the problem exists whether I'm using just my workstation with the laptop powered off.
    Things I've tried that haven't helped:
    The server is on a UPS so I have disabled write-cache dumping to ensure as fast as possible access.
    Disabled AV from read/writing to these files and white listed Lightroom all together.
    Disabled NTFS Last Access updating.
    I switched from using .nef and .xmp sidecar files to using a straight DNG workflow.
    I've monitored file access via "Process Monitor" and can confirm nothing but Lightroom and system processes are touching the files on the client and server.
    I've tried enabling and disabling local network file caching (very useful if I can get it working on the laptop, because I can import into LR4.1 while I'm away from the server and it will automatically sync when my laptop is back on the same LAN as my server).
    Any ideas?

    Ive just been looking for the same. Theres an article (and a class) on javaworld on subject of saving bitmap-files, and in another thread in this forum, a guy described how to make jpg. with the jdk1.4 .... Like this:
    int w = comp.getWidth();
    int h = comp.getHeight();
    BufferedImage im = new BufferedImage(w, h, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D g2 = im.createGraphics();
    comp.paint(g2);
    g2.dispose();
    ImageIO.write(im, "jpeg", new File("foo.jpeg"));
    im.flush();
    Im just referring, havent tried it yet. Good luck.

  • Window Focus Lost After Saving Page - Any Way To Get It Back With Keyboard?

    I've recently begun using Safari for Windows after having used Opera for years, and have run into a problem with window focus that I didn't have with Opera. Specifically, if you save a web page in Safari, you then find that the following functions are no longer available from the keyboard:
    1. Going back to a web page previous to the one that you just saved. Ctrl+[ does not function.
    2. Performing a search. Ctrl+F does not function.
    3. Scrolling to the bottom or top of the page. Ctrl+End and Ctrl+Home do not function. (For some reason, however, the PageUp and PageDown keys do still work in this situation.)
    Why is this, and more importantly, is there a quick and easy way that you can, using only the keyboard, regain the window focus so that these functions will work again? I'm currently having to click somewhere on the page I've just saved in order to regain the focus. This is a nuisance.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Thanks very much. Hitting 'Alt' button after saving the page does resolve the first (and most important) two of the three issues I listed above. FWIW, the Ctrl+End and Ctrl+Home functions only work in this post-save scenario (as I discovered by experimenting a few minutes ago) if you hit the 'Alt' button twice (or if you do something else, like perform a search and then use Ctrl+End/Home).
    By the way, before posting a few days ago, I had tried using the Alt+Tab method when I had two or more applications' windows open, and it didn't help. But, after reading your last post, I've found that if you use Alt+Tab when Safari is the only window open, then it does resolve the issue, although of course, as you've indicated, it's not actually necessary to hit the 'Tab' key.
    Thanks again!

  • Photo "...changed in external application" when saving metadata in LR2

    I am getting occasional error dialogs saying that one or more photos have been changed in an external application when saving metadata. I'm quite certain the photos have not been touched since the catalog was built--two days ago.
    I built an entirely new catalog after installing LR2. I changed some keywords as I not all images were keyworded in the same way. When I save metadata, either for an entire folder or for all files, I get occasional error dialogs about the image being changed externally. I'm quite certain that I changed nothing.
    Running Win XP Pro SP2 + all updates except SP3, LR2, on Xeon 3070 with 3GGB RAM and lots of hard drive space.

    If I didn't think my humor and irony would be misinterpreted as being rude, I might say "Why are you such a troublemaker, by asking this question? Don't you know from reading the forum, that there are multiple opinions about how LR works with changes done outside itself?" Ooops, I actually said it.<G>
    But, seriously, I've had many of the same questions, so I've been following the various threads, and still haven't got a clear and relatively simple answer to "how to work with LR images and catalogs using outside applications, and not mess stuff up?"
    So, again, seriously, thanks for asking. Hoping, like you, to get clearer understanding.

    I was having an issue where each time I would modify a photo, LR would change the Capture Date to the Modified Date. Upon a quick search, I believe the correct way to stop this from happening is for me to uncheck the auto write to XMP which I did. After correcting the myriad of inadvertent date changes, I selected all the photos I was working with and attempted to save the metadata only to get this warning/question: "One or more of these photos has been changed in an external application. Should Lightroom overwrite the settings on disk?" I searched this and I'm confused because I'm not editing the photos in an external application; the only external app that is even remotely touching these photos is Dropbox, which is where my LR catalog is stored. Does Dropbox have something to do with this message or am I missing something? To overwrite or not to overwrite is the question now, I guess, but I'd like to figure out why this question is being posed so I can fix it from the start.

    Lightroom is not saving metadata. I have done several things to save and I still get the tag that states is is not saved. I have also created 2 smart collections. One showing metadata has been changed and one showing metadata is not up to date. No matter what I do it is not showing in LR that it is saved. I spent 2 days with Seth Resnick trying to correct this and we re created my catalog. It was ok, until I imported new images and same problem. Now I have a new problem, when I bring image to PS it saves it but does not bring back to LR. Am I the only one out there who has this problem?

    Turns out those error messages it gave me were because it didn't sync properly and create a backup. Which is why when I restored from backup it didn't reload my old info. Instead of assuring me that I would have the option to restore my info, it would have been nice had it told me that a backup hadn't been completed and that restoring my phone without it would leave me with nothing.
    Tech support had me use my old SIM card to import my old contacts. This worked, but I've entered contacts since getting the new phone that aren't on my old SIM. And doing so left me with a bunch of re-organizing to do (deleting, combining, entering First and Last name fields...) it took me several hours.
    I didn't get my appointments back, cause my old phone was just a phone, and that info wasn't on the old SIM, but I'm REALLY glad I got my contacts.

  • Decimal places lost after Account metadata load via ERP Integrator

    Hi!
    Does anybody faced something like this?
    I'm losing my HFM app decimal places after loading Metadata from EPRi > Metadata.
    EPM System 11.1.2.0
    Oracle EBS 12
    Thanks!
    -Cheers!

    The issue is that you are mapping "Data Value" to amount in the Target Application import format:
    SELECT SCENARIO "Scenario"
      ,YEAR "Year"
      ,PERIOD "Period"
      ,DATAVIEW "View"
      ,DATAVALUE "Value"
      ,ACCOUNT "Account"
      ,ENTITY "Entity"
      ,ICP "ICP"
        ,UD2 "Area"
        ,UD1 "Tail"
        ,UD3 "Special"
        ,UD4 "Facility"
      ,AMOUNT "DataValue"
      FROM AIF_HS_BALANCES
      WHERE LOADID = 300
    You need to map AMOUNT to "AMOUNT" in the HFM Application.  Check that the dimension mapping is correct for the class in the target application and that your import format is going to the proper target dimension(Amount).
