Imposible instalar InDesing CS3

Hola, me ha descargado una version de prueba de InDesing y cuando lo instalo, aparece una barra de progreso que pone "Inicializando instalacion" pero cuando acaba esa barra no pasa nada. Ya pase el limpiador de Windows y quite todo lo de Adobe Instalation 1.0 y ni asi. Es pero que me podais ayudar. Gracias

Si has instalado otras versiones demo o de prueba de programas de Adobe, quizás tengas que pasar unos scripts de limpieza de Adobe, creo que los encontrarás en la página de descargas, como bien dice Juan Vélez, facilita más datos sobre estos extremos

No puedo instalar el CS3

Hola gente como andan? les cuento que tengo el adobe cs3 master collection el cual pongo a instalar y todo parece ir bien donde me aparece que se esta inicializando la instalacion pero al terminar de cargarse la barra de inicializacion simplemente se cierra la ejecucion y no pasa nada miro en el administrador de tareas en la ficha de procesos y ahi esta pero al instante desaparece el proceso de instalacion... si alguien me puede dar una ayuda decir algo del por que puede pasar esto se los agradeceria mucho!! les mando un abrazo a todos!!
Por cierto tengo windows XP SP3 y ya probe quitando el firewall y sigue haciendo lo mismo... la verdad no se que puede estar ocurriendo aqui pero gracias si alguen me puede aportar algo

You will have to check with the plug-in vendor/ provider and get a compatible version.

Imposible instalar Acrobat 7

Lo dicho. Tengo el Adobe Acrobat 7, en ingés por supuesto, y cuando intento instalarlo me da un error, concretamente "internal error 2755. 110", y me dice que no encuentra el dispositivo para la instalación(msi ?). En fin lo he intentado de todos los modos y nada. ¿Alguien me puede ayudar?
Tengo instalada la versión 6 con las actualizaciones subsiguientes, 6.0.3.30 y windows XP SP2.

It sounds like you need a Universal Binary version of a preference pane. If there's none available now, you'll just have to wait until one becomes available.

Hyperlinks with InDesing CS3, how does it work?

I am creating a document with ID SC3 and would like to add links to the exported PDF that are active, so people can check material I have on the web.
So far I have tried selecting the Object and then going to the Hyperlink Options from the panels to add a link. Under destination, I went:
Type: URL
Name: Seattle Post blablabla
URL: http://www.visionsofthewild.com/pdf/F.SchulzSeattlePI.pdf
but the link is not active when I open the exported PDF. There is no hand showing that there is a link.
I also made the test to see if I place just the text like
http://www.visionsofthewild.com/pdf/F.SchulzSeattlePI.pdf
the link is active, but not the whole thing, just one part because the text frame was too small and the rest of the link jumped to the next line.
I am not trying to create an HTML or website, I just want to have links that are active, without having to write the entire http://www.blablabla.com
What am I missing?

One can see that the www.visionsofhewild.com text is active, but the large file on the left is not showing sings of active links even though I have already applied one. What am I doing wrong?

I have created the hyperlink destination and then created the new hyperlink. But it is still not showing me any activ links on the final PDF :-S
On the Hyperlink window, I have under Destination:
Document: -> Here is the name of the document where I am editing the hyperlinks and so on.
Type: URL
Name: -> Here appears the name of the Hyperlink destination I already created, and it is already selected
URL: -> It is also the same as I have created on the new destination.
Apperance: ->Here I have not changed anything, do I need to?
What would be another reason why the hyperlink doesn't want to show. I have already clicked on "Go to destination" and it is the right link, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
Any other ideas?

Help - InDesign CS3 crashes on updating/relinking placed InDesign files

I'm using InDesing CS3 5.0.4 and I have a problem that if I try to update/relink a link which is a placed InDesign file in my document it will crash my InDesign, then when I restart my InDesign it will update/relink with no problem. I've searched around but can't find anyone having the same problem or a solution to it. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I have no solution to offer, but be consoled that this also happens to me and to my colleagues.
We are using CS3 5.0.4 on Mac OS 10.4.11 and 10.5.7 (doesn't seem to be a difference between Tiger and Leopard).
If anyone has any ideas, that would be great.
Our current work-around is to do the place/update operations soon after ID is launched. The crashing seems to happen if ID has been running for a while.

InDesign CS3 will not open for second user

I am running InDesing CS3 on a iMac 10.4.11. InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator all open for my admistrative user account. I recently created a second user account that is unable to open InDesign even though Photoshop and Illustrator open just fine. I checked the permissions for all three programs and it appears that they are all set exactly the same. Does anyone have any idea why I am only able open InDesign for my user account but not for this new user account.

5.0.3 should not have installed after 5.0.4 (that's a problem with the installer), and it may have added problems. First things to try, though, before we get down to uninstalling and reinstalling again, are trashing the prefs (Replace Your Preferences), trying a new user account, and starting with extensions disabled (hold down the Shift key when you boot).
If it comes to reinstalling again, you should probably also run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) before reinstalling, and make sure you have the correct update which you can download again from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4029

Printing problem with new Intel iMac and Indesign CS3

Hi there,
this might not be the right place to ask for, but has anybody here experienced printing problems in Indesign CS3 with Tiger?
I just installed the software and tried to print out of Indesign, but nothing. I can see on the panel that data is beeing received but no printing action. And this is just out of the new Indesing CS3.
Any suggestions?

Our office is printing fine from ID & PS CS3. This is from Intel & PPC Mac's running 10.4.9.
What is your printer and how is it configured for printing, ie USB or IP.
Also, have a look at the cups error log. You can find this via System Profiler > Software > Logs. This will show which process is failing for the spooled job. You can post it back here for more help.

Indesing Instalacion

Quiero saber como instalar Indesing en espanol, o bien cambiar el idioma. Tengo la versión de prueba instalada en Windows 7 que esta en aleman. Aunque descargue la versión delprograma delportal en espanol se instalo en aleman. ¿Comopuedo cambiarla?

If you are installing the trial version of InDesign CS6 then it will configure itself to utilize the language selection of your operating system. Please remove InDesign CS6, change the language of your computer to Spanish, and reinstall InDesign CS6.

PowerBook G4 really slow, hardrive replaced. Need Assistance

Hello There,
The hardrive from my 1GHz PowerBook G4 with 512 MB DDR SDRAM, stopped working about two months ago and I went to an Apple store to fix the problem. I have worked with it for the past 5 years, without any issue until the disk broke down.
Before this happened, I was able to work with InDesing CS3 and Photoshop CS3, simoultainously withouth a problem. Since the hardrive got replace, something changed. The machine really seems to have major difficulties handling several applications open.
Even if I only have Firefox, InDesign and Photoshop, it has a really hard time moving from one application to the other.
What do you recommend? What can I check to see where the problem is? How much space is recommended in my hardrive so that the computer has enough room to have this applications open?

You can add a 1G module to the empty slot; that would give you 1.5G and should be adequate for your needs. To get to a total of 2g you would need to remove the 512MB stick to make room for two 1G sticks.

The 1Ghz PowerBook is said to require RAM that supports "bus slewing." I don't know what this means but I would be inclined to buy online from a vendor that recognizes this requirement, like this one:

There are many options:
From Terminal (similar to ms-dos prompt, if you didn't know it already):
If you have "java MyApp" in your myapp.cmd, you can execute it with:
sh myapp.cmd
Another option is to set myapp.cmd as executable:
chmod u+x myapp.cmd
and then from Terminal: ./myapp.cmd
Third and best option is to make an executable jar. Then you only have to double-click .jar -file to launch your application (and no need to go to Terminal).

InDesign crashes on Mountain Lion when DontShowAgain dialog comes up.

I am working on an InDesign plugin that is perfectly working on Windows and Mac(Leopard, Snow leopard & Lion). Now, when I'm using this plugin on Mountain Lion, InDesign crashes whenever Don'tShowAgain warning dialog comes up.
Can anyone help me out what can be the reason of crash on Mountain Lion.

Mountain Lion I finally installed from scratch (erasing entire hard the computer). Once installed the system, the first thing I did
was install InDesign CS6 ... After install I open a file and InDesign automatically closed.

Copying of Hidden Text from Library

In my plugin, I have used hidden text. I have inserted hidden text in a text frame at required indexes in a text.
Now, I create a Library and drag the text frame to the library, the frame appears to be added to the library correctly. I then drag that frame from the library to a document, the new frame in the document has the correct text but does NOT have the hidden text.Currently I am using InDesing CS3 SDK on MAC(Tiger).
I have looked into the Hidden Text sample and found a NOTE as follows:
NOTE:HiddenText data currently does not round trip through INX in CS2, hence it won't work with features that depend on INX, such as snippets, asset libraries, save backwards. We will add this support in our next SDK update.

Try following the next steps in Tx. VOTXN:
1. Delivery --> Header (Flag) --> Icon Text Types: create your text type in the VBBK object. Let's say Z01D - Text1Delivery
2. As the text types for delivery and billing are in the same object, you need to create (same as point 1) a second text. Let's say Z01B - Text1Billing
3. Delivery --> HEader (Flag) --> Icon 'Change':
       3.1. Copy the text procedure '02' to 'Z02' to make the needed changes.
       3.2. Select your text procedure Z02 - Delivery Header and click 'Text ID in Textprocedure': add your Z01D text type without
              access sequence.
4. Billing Doc. --> Header (Flag) --> Icon 'Change'
       4.1. Copy the text procedure '03' to 'Z03' to make the needed changes.
       4.2. Select your text procedure Z03 - Billing Header and click 'Text ID in Textprocedure': add your Z01B text type without
              access sequence (we need to create the access sequence before assign here).
       4.3. Go back to Access Sequence folder:
               4.3.1. Create a new access sequence, let's say 9001.
               4.3.2. Select your access sequene 9001 and click 'Access Sequence for Text ID's': add at first position (10) Text
                         Object VBBK, and ID Z01D
       4.4. Come back to 'Text ID in Texprocedure' (point 4.2) and assign access sequence 9001 to your Z01B text.
5. Finally assign in 'Text procedure assignment' folder, your delivery type document and your billing tupe document to the Z02 and Z03 text procedures created.

Poblema al instalar cualquier producto CS3 y CS4, no consigo iniciar

Hola a todos, me he bajado el trial de PhotoShop CS4, Dreamweaver y Flash y cuando aparece la ventana que dice "Comprobando perfil del sistema" y llega al 90%, aparece un pantallazo de la ventana de instalacion e imediatamente desaparece y ya no hace nada mas, se queda colgado y no marca ningun error.
He probado ls utilidades de lipieza CS3 y CS4 y no funciona, he limpiado el registro y nada, he desinstalado PhotoShop CS2 y todos los productos de Adobe y no consigo exito tampoco.
Actualmente sigo trabjando con PhotoShop CS2, pues no he tenido la fortuna de probar CS3 y tampoco CS4.
Espero que alguien pueda ayudarme a solucionar este problema, llevo aproximadamente 3 meses buscando ayuda al respecto y nada.

Yo lo solucioné entrando a "C:\Archivos de programa\Archivos comunes\Adobe" y ya ahí haciendo una busqueda por "CS4" y eliminar cualquier resultado, al intentar instalar de nuevo ya se pudo.

My plugin reads a ini file to configurate the main menu.
It is possible read this file when starting InDesing and hide some submenus created in Myplugin.fr?
I have no problem to hide/show a menu, but I don´t know what is the first event that runs after loading my plugin.
Is there other possible way to do this?

Have you tried implementing a startup/shutdown service provider (IID_IAPPSTARTUPSHUTDOWN)? If it's too late to hide the menu, then an IMenuFilter/IActionFilter should do the job for you to hide menu. Or you can dynamically build the menu on the fly too (see dynamicmenu sample from SDK)
