Imposible iphone 3gs help!

I need to repair my iphone 3gs. I updated to ios ios 5.1.1 but six had to finish the process ran out of battery and did not catch more.
now I try to restore from itunes and it was not possible. the computer on until it starts to restore itunes and the apple is loading and never loads. please help if anyone knows of any solution!

i can't use my facebook. it crashed.

When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup.

my iphone 3gs can only work if you set it up on itunes and you need a network signal to update and my sim doesnt work ,, i also have a iphone 3g and tried that sim and doesnt work it keeps on saying no service ,, it worked before i updated it .. so i can't use my phone at all till i get a signal .. NEED HELP!!!!

White screen iPhone 3GS HELP!!

Hi, i restored my old iphone 3gs, and when it finished, i figured out the screen was totally white. it also gives me the error 29 whichi i think it is because of the baterry but with the original baterry, it still did the same (not error 29. the screen)
if i buy a 3GS battery, and restore again, will my screen go back to life? or is my screen damaged by some X reason?

Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

Iphone 3gs help needed

I have a iphone 3gs on AT&T and I updated to IOS 5.1.1 a week ago and my phone freezes at the lock screen and when I go to turn it off I can't even do that, I've tried resetting it multiple times and it doesn't do any good.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have tried ALL the troubleshooting steps recommended and you still have the issue, then there's nothing else you can do. Bring the phone in to Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.

Error -1 iphone 3GS HELP!

Hi there, i recently purchased an iphone 3gs 8gb from ebay and have found myself locked in a restore loop i have never seen before 'an unknown error occurred (-1)'. I have some knowledge of escaping error messages but this is one i have not heard of and can find no info regarding. The only way i am able to get the phone to turn on is to use tethered 5.1 redsnow jailbreak. Ironically, even then my reception remains 'searching......' before telling me i need to restore via itunes. The itunes restore literally appears to get all the way to the end before giving me the error message. I am totally stuck, any information regarding this error would be greatly recieved. many thanks

Been told by the guy in the aple store that this is a very rare hardware fault which cannot be fixed....

Upgrading from Original iPhone to iPhone 3GS help!

Okay, I just read an article stating that it will cost a fat wallet to upgrade from the 3G to the 3GS, because of the whole contract early/late upgrade thing whatever. I still have the normal iPhone and I didn't upgraded to the new 3G. My contract has long been done and fulfilled. Do I have to pay the same crazy amount as 3G users to upgrade or will I have the benefit of buying it with the original $199/$299 price?

I think you may have some luck here. As you said, you have already completed your 2-year contract, right?
If so, then I think you can enjoy that subsidized price by opening a new two-year AT&T wireless service contract.
Still, I think you should contact AT&T to clear this ideas. Hope this helps!

Apps crash 30s-2m iPhone 3GS Help please

I have a 3GS and updated to 4.3.5 last week. Things were fine (even last night) until this morning. I was listening to my Stitcher app as usual this morning and it kept turning itself off after a minute or two. Then I realized this was happening with all my apps. Even "Settings" will close out after a few seconds. iPod, also. Sometimes the app/program just hangs, but usually it starts normally and then just stops and I'm returned to the home screen.
I have turned on/off; done soft reset; restored to original settings and then restored to backup. Unfortunately the backup was from 11am today (my phone auto-synced everytime I connected it to my computer - thanks to this board, I now have that turned off). The problem persists.
I have tried the "download a free app" solution and unfortunately that did not work for me.
Suggestions?

I couldn't get my phone to transfer purchases to itunes before updating my phone and it wouldn't connect, so I turned my phone off to try and reset it and it has been trying to shut down ever since. It's been like an hour. What should i do?

From your post, I can't tell where you went wrong. From my experience in using the Zagg, follow the directions exactly. When you get the shield on, it's going to look a bit like you screwed up. Since it's already scratched a bit, I think I'm going to order another Zagg shortly.

I recently upgraded my iphone 3GS to the new ioS 5.1. After I did this and synced my phone, it won't let me play any audio from apps, itunes or music. It will allow the phone to ring but that is all. When I use viber I have to press this button and change it from docking to iphone. I take it that the phone thinks I'm permanently on a docking system.
It also will not sync my music back to my phone. My music is on itunes but it won't let it sync.
I have restored my phone twice and it still won't work - HELP!! Please???

Your device is broken. If you want a device that works better than the one you have now, then you'll either need to bring your phone into Apple for out of warranty exchange ($149), or find a 3rd party repair shop in your area and see what they can do, if anything at all.
