Imposible to read from the jukebox

Got problems from some time now. i easily can transfer data to my zen 20Go, but the copy from my zen to the puter is impossible now. It says "Impossible to read from the jukebox". I just dunno what to do, its nothing related to low battery, drivers and firmware not up to date... I did it all, nothing happens.
Got many datas blocked on that zen!!
Any ideas? Very urgent, thank you.

Well, i did all the plugin/firmware/software updates i could find. My problem remains. In fact, the transfer begins, and it stops something like 20 seconds later with that "unable to read from the jukebox" message (thats why i thought it was due to low battery, but no), and all sto
ps.
Sometimes everything works. But when that message comes up, it wont work anymore till i try sometime later...

Windows Easy Transfer (WET) Issues with External Hard Drive - "Can't read from the source file or disk"

I work for Office Depot, in the tech department. Basically, one of our associates was supposed to do a data backup, and re-install Windows 7, then transfer the files back. He used Windows Easy Transfer and compacted everything into a 163 GB file.
Now comes the hard part. When we try to put it back on his computer ((drag-and-drop to the desktop) which has been wiped back to factory settings using the recovery partition), it stops at 79.5 GB remaining (you know how it doesn't give you a % of completion,
it just shows how many GB are remaining) and then says "Can't read from the source file or disk" and gives you an option to try again, or cancel. It gets hung up on the same point each time.
Normally, this wouldn't be a huge issue, but the contents on the drive are his wife's architect blueprints and interior design stuff, along with wedding photos, etc, which are the only copies they have. On top of those, they have court documents and other
important files that we are unable to access now.
I wasn't involved with this transfer, so I'm trying to clean up the mess as best I can. I remembered that the customer's wife was Russian, and had some files typed with a Russian keyboard, so on and so forth. I wonder if that's the issue? If not, I really
have no idea how to manually extract things from a ".mig" file, or how to diagnose what area is potentially corrupted.
In light of this situation, we tried using "Recuva" to recover the files post-wipe, but everything was corrupted or unable to be opened, and it also extracted and recovered all of the "useless" photos, such as the skype logos, up and
down arrows for browsers, etc (it was 160,000+ photos).
Trying to avoid a potential lawsuit, unhappy customer, and costing the company lots of money to see if professionals can get into this external hard drive.
Other relevant information:
We used a Toshiba 500 GB (465 GB) external hard drive.
Customer's computer is an HP Pavilion P6000 Series (Model No. p6520y) running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.
Any other information that is needed can be provided, thanks in advance, and hopefully we can find a solution to this issue quickly!

Unplug from new, head back to new, plug it back in? That doesn't make much sense! Haha.
I knew what you meant though, somewhat. When I search through the drives after clicking yes (Has windows easy transfer
already saved your files blah blah blah) I click on the transfer file and it says "Windows Easy Transfer could not open the file".
Rather than drag-and-drop the file to the desktop, I now tried to double-click on the file itself while it was plugged
into the computer. It opened, and it started transferring until it was about 70% completed, and then an error popped up saying "WET can't open the easy transfer file, make sure your USB device is plugged in or check your internet connection".
I checked, and the USB hard drive's light wasn't on. Now, I unplug it and plug it back in, and the light comes back on,
so I click Retry, and it resets the bar back to nothing and says "Transfer time: 1 minute".
Rather than continue trying, I clicked "Cancel" instead of Retry, and it says "Your transfer did not complete successfully."
It says to click "view report" for more information, but there's no "view report button".
At the moment, I am scanning the External Drive for bad sectors using the check disk tool in properties. It's frozen
at "0 USN bytes processed".

Adobe Media Encoder for CS4 error Could not read from the source

I get an error when I try to export from Premiere CS4. It doesn't matter how I export. Seems like an easy fix, but I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated:

When you attempt to encode media with Adobe Media Encoder CS4 on Windows, the following error message appears in the text file (AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt) that opens when you click the error icon: "Encoding Failed. Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted."
If it's that correct, you removed an earlier version of Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Creative Suite on the same computer.
Do one or both of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Create a shortcut to the Premiere Pro executable file, rename the shortcut to Premiere, and move the shortcut to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink.
Close all Adobe applications.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. (If you installed Premiere Pro CS4 in a location other than the default of C:\Program Files\Adobe, then navigate to your custom installation location.)
Right-click on Adobe Premiere Pro.exe (which might appear without the .exe extension) and choose Create Shortcut.
Rename the newly created shortcut to just Premiere.
Important: The name of the shortcut must be exactly Premiere with no other characters.
Open a second Windows Explorer window, and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink.
Move the Premiere shortcut that you created into the dynamiclink folder.
Solution 2: Remove and reinstall all Premiere Pro CS4 components or all Adobe Creative Suite 4 components.
Do one of the following:
Windows XP: Choose Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
Windows Vista: Choose Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.
In the list of installed programs, select Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium, or Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection.
Click Change/Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista).

Why Does iTunes Continuously Read From the Hard-drive?

Hi. I have recently discovered an odd behaviour from iTunes: instead of reading an entire song from the harddrive and storing it in ram during playback, iTunes reads small chunks of data very frequently. For example, when playing a 128Kbps song the HD reads 68KB chunks approximately every 3 seconds, and when playing lossless WAVE files the HD is constantly reading at 200KB/s. I found this out by having iTunes open and playing music while having all other programs closed, and monitoring the disk activity from Activity Monitor (and I'm sure that it's iTunes that was reading from the HD because when the music was paused the HD was idle).
So, my question is why would iTunes do this? This seems like an extremely inefficient use of the harddrive for several reasons:
- Constantly reading small chunks from the HD uses much more power than reading large chunks infrequently because idle hard-drives use much less power than active hard-drives
- This will slow down other applications that need to make heavy use of the HD because iTunes will be constantly interrupting anything else that is using the disk (this is especially true for Photoshop or any other program that uses lots of swapfile space)
- It puts unnecessary wear on the HD heads
- It is dangerous for laptops, which can easily get thrown around or bumped. Momentarily reading a large chunk of data and leaving the HD idle for the majority of the time will be much safer for the HD heads
- Hard-drive-based portable music players read large chunks of data infrequently because it is well-known that this saves power and protects the HD in these devices.
So... is there any reason that iTunes is exempt from these reasons??

I too have wondered about this. You'd think with 1.5GB RAM that itunes would take 3MB of it and leave my drive alone for a few minutes. I don't really feel comfortable doing drive intensive activities such as file copying while itunes is running.

After updating I ended up with 4 icons on my desktop - I cannot delete any of them. The error message reads; "Cannot read from the source file or disk".

I updated from the original version to 6.0.1 and when I re-started FF there were 4 icons on my desktop. I managed to delete one of them, but I cannot delete the other two - to leave me with just one.
I get the error message of "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source fie or disk".

Here's the meaning of the error that you received.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC06-0002" -- may be caused by damaged recovery media or faulty hard drive"
Possible that the problem is on the recovery also.

I have 5 computers running top end processors and RAM. By this I mean I have one, this one which I am using that has an AMD Phenom Black 3.2 Quad-core with 8 GBs of Corsair top DDR2 RAM, my other two AMD have either an Athlon II triple core with 4 GBs of DDR2 Corsair RAM, one with the Phenom X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad-core with 8 GBs of their best DDR2 RAM, and two Intels with the i7 920 Processors using the triple channel 1366 socket processors and one with 8 GBs of low latency DDR3 RAM and the other with 4 GBs of the same RAM. I am getting the message on this one, which has a fresh install of XP Pro X64 operating system, as do the other 4 as well. I have run Avast Business Pro Anti-virus on this one, which I am getting the message on with a single result which I deleted, and also both Spybot Search and Destroy, which came back clean as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, which got a lot of tracing cookies now removed, and SuperAntiSpware which also found a few cookies also now deleted. Can you tell me what I need to do to get these files to show as .pdf files rather than as a clean blank page. One other issue is that I wish to know how to turn off my downloads so they are saved and Mozilla will give me the option of returning them instead of me losing them all together as it does now. To answer this question correctly, a user would need to have a DIR-635 router connected by Ethernet to a Belgacom router.
If you think about it, the chances of another user who has these two same devices configured this way and also being on an Apple support forum to see your post are about zero.
The following might work, but you will not know until you try.
Configure the DIR-635 to provide a wireless network that uses the exact same wireless network name, exact same wireless security and exact same password as the Belgacom wireless router. Make sure that the DIR-635 is configured in Bridge Mode.

Another option would be to export from the library but lr mogrify does not seem to put text overlays on video either. Any input would be welcome.

You can try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download the iTunes installation

iTunes has tried to update itself and runs into an error and tells me to manually install. When I d/l and run the iTunesSetup.exe file I always encounter the following error message...

I'm having some hiccups getting Adobe to register the software, but since I set it as the default .pdf reader during setup, things try (and fail) to open in the as yet unregistered software. How can I change it temporariiy to the Acrobat Reader XI that I have installed?

I'd opened file with the 'Open with' feature then clicking Adobe Reader,
but that didn't do it. When I used 'Open with', then 'Choose default
program...', it worked like a charm.
