Impossibility to burn a DVD of more than one hour

My application consists to develop diaporamas of photos with imovie to take advantage of the potential of imovie compared to diaporamas using iphoto.
I have 7 diaporamas of 10 to 15 minutes each for a total of 78 minutes
A first step was to burn a subset of these diaporamas for my grand children, each of them of less than an hour ( 55 to 57 minutes ). That was done without any problem.
A second step was to burn a DVD of all diaporamas. I switched from best performance to best quality. Information on the projest was:
DVD capacity: 2,6Go
Menu; 1 first level ( aquarium2 )
Traks: 5
menus: 3
Duration: 77,36 minutes
Space available on the disc: 30,8Go
It seems that the first steps were processed properly. I saw the beginning of step2 ( menu and transitions ) and the beginning of the coding of the first sequence. When I came back the following morning ( I estimated a duration of the coding of about 4 hours ) the following message was displayed: " burning completed, erors were detected during the burning", but nothing was burned on the DVD ( virgin medium ? )
I also tried to make an image disc, with the same result. I have seen, working on a test DVD, that there is a step " multiplexing" before burning, and I suppose that the error occured during that step.
What do you think was wrong with my application. Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks for your answer dated 09/10. I did what was suggested in your message. To summarize, I have 8 slideshows1 to 8 ( I used the translation of the french word diaporama given by "Eurodicotom", an online free dictionnary of the European Commission, which, by the way, does not know the word "slideshow", nobody is perfect... ).
1- I burned: 1 2 3 5 7 56 minutes: no problem
2- I burned 5 6 7 8 57 minutes: no problem
3- I burned: 4 5 6 7 8 77 minutes: multiplexing error
4- I burned: 4* 20 minutes: no problem
* It seemed that the problem was due to slideshow 4 which was the only one not burned with problem
The slidehows dont seem corrupted...
Any other idea?

Thanks Shootist007, by blockd files I mean files that I have changed to blocked and when I tried to move then for the first time, I had to unblock again. I am trying to backup my pictures, my songs and other files like word documents and excel tables. First I put all of them as blocked, what caused the first problems on trying to move them. Then, I've unchecked the block option and if I try to move one by one, there is no problem. The issue is to move all together, because it gets stuck in the preparing to copy files step. Anyway, if I cannot do all by once, I'll do it one by one, event though that was not suposed to happen if we are talking about technology, right? Anyway, I thank you again for trying to help me!

Report is executing more than one hour

I have an issue with my report,its taking more than one hour for execution.
This report is called through an package,in package there are cursors which retrive data and sends to mail.The problem is with this select statement in cursor,its taking a lot of time to retrive the data.
In my cursor select statement i am using the following tables
HZ_PARTY_SITES HPS,
HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTS CUST,
HZ_CUST_ACCT_SITES_ALL HCASA,

when i use OE_AUDIT_ATTR_DESC_V ,its taking a lot of time to retrive.So any one can help me out in this issue,how to add this view to other tables

Before you add any indexes to the listed tables, check with Oracle support to ensure you will be violating your Oracle Enterprise Business Suite agreement. Oracle has specific rules on modifying EMS tables. Additionally, any EBS patch or update that gets applied will likely drop any custom changes to these tables. It might be better for you to open a Service Request with Oracle Support and have them tell you how to improve the performance of your query since all of your tables are EBS tables.

RR, you may also want to check with your DBA(s) to see when the Statistics were last gathered on these tables.

Depends on how strong your wifi connection is.
you can try a reset hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.

G5 idle for more than one hour

when i leave my G5 idle for more than one hour, when i enter my password, the system locks. i have to shut off the computer and turn it on again...

Try restoring the iPod to factory settings/new iPod.
If still problem then I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and hear what they have to say.

My iphone 4 will not turn on anymroe and is left on the screen where its charging with thunder bolt lightening. I tried holding the power button and home button but still no luck. its been plugged in the charger for more than one hour already.

Cannot burn a playlist over more than one CD

I have developed the following problem:
If I try to burn a playlist which requires more than one CD, I get the usual message asking me if I want to burn on more than one audio CD to which I reply yes. Once the first CD is finished I get the message to insert another CD which then proceeds to burn the songs already burned on the first CD instead of moving on to the next batch!
Also sometimes the song names etc are included on the burned CD but usually they are not.
Is this a problem particular to me or is it an iTunes 8 gift?
I have repaired permissions and this makes no difference.

Yes you can use multiple drives. I do it all the time. I usually have one drive dedicated as my Capture drive where I keep all of my captued footage and then other drives for all of the other stuff, ie graphics, music, etc...

Sync and Create project operation from DTR is taking more than one hour

Hi All.
Recently basis team has implemented the track for ESS/MSS application.So When we import the track to NWDS its showing 500 Dcs.
I have successfully done the Sync and create project operation from DTR for 150 DCS and its take 5 min per Dcs.
However after that when i am trying to sync Dc or create project DC from DTR the operation is taking more than 3 hour per DC.Which should not be the case because for rest 150 DC that i ahve done Sync operation adn Create project operation from DTR it hardly takes 5 min per Dc.As this operataion is taking so much time finally i have close the NWDS to stop this operation.
I am using NWDS 2.0.15 and EP7.0 portal SP15 and NWDI is 7.0
Can any body tell how to solve this issue so that i can Sync and Create project from DTR for a DC within 5 min?

Hi Susmita,
If the DCs are fine in CBS build, then I feel there is no need to test all of them locally in NWDS.
You can verify some certain applications in these DCs, then you sync & create project for these DCs & test run these applications.
As I get you only need to check ( no changes will be done ), yes you can verify them in small groups (say 20-25 DCs/group) in different workspaces so that no workspace is overloaded.
But why do you want to keep a copy of them locally as you are not making any changes, you can Unsync & Remove these projects once verified & use the same workspace to work on the next set of DCs.

More Than One Hour Footage Audio Rendering Issue in Adobe Media Encoder (from AE)

Hi every one,
I'm having a render issue when I send an After Effects composition longer than 1 hour to Adobe Media Encoder for encoding H264 files. In this case, I'm trying to render an already rendered 70 min. 23,976 fps DPX sequence paired with a corresponding ".wav" audio file into the composition and the H264 file rendered by AME plays silent for the first 10 minutes and past those 10 "silent" minutes the audio comes back normally during the last 59 min and 59 sec exactly.
I've tryed every posible "solution" (changing the audio file from .wav to .aiff and .mp3) and assigning more ram to Adobe Media Encoder and it renders the same every single time.
Please Help!!!!

If you can't track down the audio problems some other way you have two options. Render to a production codec in AE then compress your production master in AME or tender only your subtitles (or use dynamic link) to a lossless with alpha format in AE and marry them to the original video and audio in PPro.
Actually, the first thing I would have tried when audio problems showed up would have been to render a production master using a visually lossless format like QuickTime JPEG 2000 and then compressed in the AME.

Burn a DVD-R more than once

Does anyone know how I can burn a multisession using DVD-R?

This is how you do it for CD-R. I don't think it works for DVD but perhaps you could follow the same procedure as for CDs and see if it works.

Why does printing a pdf take more than one hour?

Printing a single page from a pdf document (simple text) takes well over one hour. Surely, this can't be normal. Is this a known bug or is something wrong with my setup? Is there a solution/workaround?

With the Advanced setting window displayed you will see the setting "Print as Image". Having this enabled can dramatically increase the file size of the document to be printed.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

Encore can't burn more than one DVD at a time: Sense Code 56400

For a long time now I've been unable to burn multiple DVD's at a time. I burn more than one and I get an error and have to make a coaster out of yet another DVD
I just upgraded to 24 gb of DDR3 PC 1600 RAM, I have an 6 Core Processor, I have 7.8 on everything accept my hard drive which is 7.0 out of 7.9 according to my Windows 7 Pro. 64 bit system.
I have 2 different DVD burners, one is a blu-ray burner too. I have the same issues, only different error readings it seems, on both drives. The first drive didn't burn even one for some reason so I tried the second. The second drive would burned 3 and on the fourth I got the errors' which I've included screen shots of below. I was surprised I got through three before I got to this error. By the end of the week I have a large project I need to make 30 DVD's of. HELP!!!!!
A long time ago on my older machine I had similar problems and I went through different drives and discs until I seemed to come up with the magic combination which seemed to be a Plextor burner and Verbatim. But, then i got a bad batch of verbatim and tried Maxell and used those successfully for a while. Right now I'm using what a friend gave me, TDK's. I'm wondering if that's what the problem is... HELP!!!!

I have managed to get it to work consistently now. I just burned 20 DVD's without a problem.
I tried everything you suggested except the imageburn software. I didn't like that site, I was too anxious to try and figure out where to download that software in the midst of all the advertisements on that site.
After clearing out everything in startup and services except what I needed I still wasn't able to burn successfully. Finally I went and purchased some Verbatim DVD-R discs and wahlah! Actually, after the first try with the verbatim I had an error code when trying to burn with Encore. So, I created and image file as you suggested and then I used Cyberlink's Power2Go to burn the image file and from there on it seems everything is solid.
I think the biggest problem was using TDK discs. I came to the realization a few years ago that certain disks are not as predictable as others and that verbatim and maxell seem to be the best. I did get one bad batch of verbatim though one time and that's when I switched to Maxell. My friend gave me 200 of the TDK's and I've been having problems ever since. But, I wasn't sure what it was exactly because he gave me those around the same time I rebuilt my system.
I had also found the Plextor seems to be the best bet for burners. But, I had been using an HP one lately and thought maybe that was the problem. However, now it seems to be fine.
I really don't know what fixed it. I mean, nothing definitely worked until I started using the Verbatim today. But, that first verbatim erroring perplexed me. I had done some other things too, like removed some programs, like a bunch of HP printer crap. I even removed my virus software, Window Security Essentials. I just reinstalled it so now I'm wondering if I can burn as consistently. I had seen somewhere where someone said they removed Windows' Defender to get theirs working.
Anyways, I guess what I need to do is format my main hard drive, only put adobe stuff on it, and then take my old computer set it up for everything else. That'll probably be the best thing to do... If I have anymore problems like this I'm doing that right away!

Or
Place all items into a folder and burn the folder to the disc.
Or
Make a Burn Folder in the Finder (place items into the folder) and burn from there to a disc.

DVD Burn more than three hours

I have a video that lasts more than three hours and I want to burn to DVD. How I can compress it but I lose quality among all video on the DVD?

DL-DVDs - can hold up to 4 hours
Using Toast™ and a SL-DVD can hold about 10 hours - BUT at a quality so bad that VHS-tapes recorded in EP-mode (x4) Will look excellent in comparision.
