Impossible to activate my adobe products even if I try to change id and reenter my info.

    This issue concern not only Captivate 6 but all our Adobe product Familly, wa are having hard time answering calls to our users asking to activate their software but being unable to do so.
    The program won't acces the internet while behind a proxy (we are using a proxy pac), it is unacceptable to not be able to activate a software when behind a proxy.

    Well we already found that answer somewhere on a forum, I guess you mean add the URL to firewall exception,
    but this doesn't fit Company Security Standard, in my company we cannot allow a computer access internet
    directly exception or not, it is very sad that a company such as Adobe is not able to produce a tool that is
    Proxy Aware for all it's functions (Software activation, Software Serial Checking etc. all doesn't behave the same way).
    We need a solution ASAP as many of our users are not able to use their Adobe Softwares.

    The activation of CS2 has changed completely (Adobe no longer upholds the original activation based upon your licence and individual registration number(s)), so you will have to download a new application (set) here, and use the generic registration number given in this connexion:

  • The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated

    My Adobe Media Encoder CS4 was working perfectly.
    I even exported a video one morning and that same afternoon it refused and gave me the following message:
    "Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS4. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated.
    Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder"
    I reinstalled a couple of times, but nothing changed.
    I uninstalled and installed CS5, it launched once then gave me the same message all over again.
    I even tried to install it on another computer and it's giving me the same result.
    I have been working on this video more a month, and I can't even export it.
    Can anyone help ? I have a deadline to meet

    Hi, I've just been having the same problem but on my mac!
    I have been trying to use XDCAM EX converted Mov files on my new MacBookPro with CS6. I have just completed the installation of ProRes Quictime codecs, but when I went back to try to re-open my Adobe Media Encoder, (that I was using without problem around an hour ago), I now get the same message that The-Jade was getting
    "Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS4. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated.
    Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder"

    After the download for the CS5.5 Design Standard finished, I pressed the handy button labeled "Download Complete! Open bundle." However, when I press that, I get a message that says:

    This has been the case for multiple attempts at varied times. What do I do?

    I have purchased a full retail version of "Adobe Production Studio Premium" (2005) (1 user licence) off Amazon, but there are problems  to activate it.
    Tried to activate the software by internet and by phone. Both times equally unsuccessful. Eventually I have located the following link "https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads" to resolve the activation process however I could not find the exact package to correspond to my purchase "Production Studio Premium" - instead everything is splintered into different parts. Am I legally allowed to download and install the software from individual parts provided within "the link" I have mentioned or I should consider going for a refund and sending back the "Adobe Production Studio Premium" for a full refund. Bear in mind, I have no other but commercial and business intentions. Help and advise appreciated.

    If you purchased the CS2 suite then you are allowed to download and install whatever you can of the software thru the Adobe site.

    we're an IT business. We've bought several Adobe products in an auction. As the products are sold "as is", we don't know if they've been activated or not.
    We've bought those products in order to resell them. Does someone know how we could know if our products (CS4, CS5, CS5.5 and some standalone apps) are activated ...Without activating them ?
    If it's not possible, is there a way to de-activate some licenses ?
    In the worst case, is it possible and legal to resell an Adobe product that has been activated (I guess it isn't) ?

    Out of curiosity, how do you know that you have not purchased stolen or pirated copies in the auction?
    Adobe has a license transfer process for legally buying and selling products.
    Transfer an Adobe product license
    Without that transfer process, Adobe has no way of knowing if you are the legal owner of the product licenses.

    The individual file has become corrupted somehow.
    Happens often to users who work across a network, opening or saving a Photoshop image file to a server.
    You're going to have to resort to your backup.
    This is the boilerplate text often used in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
    If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported.

      Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
         Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.   It should.
        Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
      If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
    When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.

  • Best Adobe product for editing PDF, replacing English text with Thai without altering/recompressing images, graphics etc.?

    I have an English language PDF, a medical device brochure, the content of which has already been translated into Thai (in Word). I want to replace the original English in the PDF with the Thai translation easily without altering any other aspect of the brochure, like graphics, images, margins etc. (No doubt I'll have to tweak line height, font sizes and paragraph lengths a little.) I'm unsure of what would be the best Adobe product for this purpose, e.g. Illustrator, InDesign or Acrobat (or something else), that would allow me simply to open the PDF, replace the English with Thai in an attractive Thai font (to be embedded), make minor layout tweaks, then save without any compression so the quality and colours of the original photos, artwork, and graphical elements are preserved. I've heard Office 2013 allows direct editing of a PDF but I'm not sure if it converts, alters or compresses PDF graphics in some way when first opening the file. Could anyone with relevant experience please advise? Thanks in advance.

    Adobe's only offering here is Adobe Acrobat. However, I must say something. I have heard from many people who sought to translate a PDF in this way. NONE SUCCEEDED. PDF is not suitable for this purpose. Obtain the original, this should be part of your contract for translation. If this is impossible, expect to remake the document; Word is probably unsuitable for a brochure of this type, maybe InDesign.

    If you need to download the applications then where you get them can depend on what versions they are.  The first place to look would be in your Adobe account online.  It might have links ready for you to use.
    If you cannot find any links then you can very likely download the trial version of the software thru the site linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
    Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

    If your two activation are in use you need to call Adobe. Install CS3 to to point of activation and call Adobe at that point.  They have help me in cases like your My Disk crashed and I replaced it. Could not deactivate the crash activation.  I done that twice over the years I've been using  PS for around 20 years

    I don't know which operating system you are working on so i am giving you some steps windows and MAC OS:
      Windows:
       In windows 7 navigate to following location:
         /windows/system32/drivers/etc
       1. look out for "Hosts" file
       2. Open it with notepad
       3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
       4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CC
      Mac:
       1. Please click on "Go" and navigate to /private/etc
       2. Open "hosts" file and check out for any entries for Adobe.com
       3. Remove the entries and save the file
       4.  try again launching any product from CC

    There's no built-in way to do this. You'd have to write it.
    (Also, AIR does not let you generate a machine specific UID without
    which uniquely identifying the machine that the application is
    installed on may be hard).

    I upgraded my PC with new motherboard, CPU and new OS (Windows 7 64-bit). I was re-installing Acrobat Pro and logged into my account at Adobe.com to look up some previous info. I tried various account sections thinking they had moved the data around. Nope.

    Well, they can't blame the hack. When that happened and I had to change my login, I also looked at my history. All products I've purchased were there.
    Which brings me back to why I need that history now. The serial number I've been using for Acrobat Pro 9 is an upgrade license. When I try to activate full ownership on this rebuilt PC, Adobe is asking for not only the previous serial (which luckily I kept) but also which one of about 10 products that number applied to. I've tried clicking on all of them. All refused.
    I tried using Web chat to have an Adobe person help me, but all I got was a vertical rectangle with my name in it. No controls, no feedback of any type. Not the level of service I expect from them.
