Mon Ami, we had the same problem with Lion 10.7.3 and FMLE 3.2.0 recording via HD DV camera over Intensity Extreme - no preview picture in FMLE even though Media Express showed the video picture and we were able to view on an external monitor via HDMI out from Intensity Extreme. With the Build FMLE 3.2.1 this problem was dealt with.

Unable to find working IR device

Hi, i have the X-Fi Fatality, the front panel is working (optical lights are on etc) but i can't get the remote to work. when i go to entertainment centre settings i get error message 'Unable to find a working IR device'. Can someone please advise as to what i need to do to get the remote to work?

I found the answer (just as well as its all quiet on the suggestion front).
I use my old 5. digital card for my gameport. XP installed the drivers for it too. I disabled the 5. drivers, rebooted, and everything works great.

Actuelly I have installed the 195.81 from laptopvideo2go, but there are some problems, like yellow lines at the screen when looking pictures, or problems with 3D-programs like sketchup ......
Has anybody the same problem?

Im not wondering about these lines on your notebook screen because you are using display driver from latptopvideo2go I also dont have good experience with these drivers like overheating. So at the moment Im only using Toshiba display driver
Have you tried this driver? The Toshiba website shows for Vista 64bit a driver that should work on Windows 7 too.

Error: "Unable to find a working IR device" in Windows Vista 64-bit, Audigy 4

I have Audigy 4 Pro with the RM-500 remote that came with it.
The remote is not working in Vista 64-bit (Enterprise).
It is definitely not a hardware problem because everything works in Windows XP Professional SP3. When I dual boot into Vista, the remote doesn't control anything in Windows but the red light on the I/O external box is blinking so it's definitely receiving input.
When I run "Entertainment Center Settings", I get the error "Unable to find a working IR device" and all the options are greyed out.

"Unable to find a working IR device" Error (Audigy

I just bought the Audigy 4 sound card today, and did a Full Installation. Unfortunatley, the remote does not work. When Windows XP loads, Windows says it has found New Hardware and identifies it as "Creative USB IR Recei'ver", but it can't locate the files to install it. When I press a button on the remote, the red light in the receiver lights up, but nothing happens. Also, when I try to launch Creative Entertainment Centre Settings, I get the following error: "Unable to find a working IR device". I tried uninstalling everything and then installing it again. This didn't fix anything. I also downloaded the latest drivers and tried another USB port. Needless to say, neither fixed the problem. I really want to get this remote working. I can not confirm this kind of experience.
Even here in Germany, where articles are sold after the U.S. market is supplied, I had no problem buying a Lightning cable yesterday.
There were about 20 to 30 cables available in the customer area alone, not to mention what they perhaps had in their storage.
So why not make a short trip to Munich, Bavaria, visit the Octoberfest and buy a Lightning cable.
What makes me much more angry is that I was told there is no dock planed for the iPhone 5.

The phone is stuck in this mode because it needs to contact ATT's activation servers when you plug it into itunes. There is most likely a connection issue Firewall/Antivir software blocking certain connections/ports.
Common AV/Firewall programs that cause this issue: Norton, Mcafee, Zone Alarm, and CA (computer associates).
Unfortunately you cant fully "disable" these programs so its a matter of knowing how to configure them or remove them completely using their respective removal tools.
Otherwise, bring the phone to an Apple Retail Store or ATT store to have them activate it for you.

How do i find out what devices are authorised on my apple ID?

I have just bought a new iMac and want to get all my itunes library etc on it. However, apparently i have reached my limit of 5 authorisations, which is entirely possible as I have had a number of iphones, Macair and ipads, some of which I either no longer own or are no longer functioning. How do I find out what devices are authorised and then deauthorise any that I don't use any more - given that they may not even work!

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't de-authorise just the computers you no longer have access to.
Your only option is to de-authorise all your computers and then re-authorise those you wish to be authorised. You can do this by logging into your account settings in iTunes on your computer (Store > View My ID) and selecting the option to de-authorise all.
Please note however, you are only permitted to do this once in each 12 month period, therefore you would be better de-authorising your computers before you lose access to them. you can do this from the 'Store' menu in iTunes.

The person activated Find My Phone device on my ipad and the pad locked to his account. I have tried to reach everyone I know to remove this account but I couldn't get anyone to give a right code. The e-mail address of the person didn't show properly for me to contact who the person is, I have done recovery to the pad but still asking for the person's code. I couldn't use my ipad since this happened to me. I need somebody's help to use my pad again. Thanks.

RT: Remote desktop says "can't find a suitable device for drive C"

there is a french post on exactly the same topic, but I can't apply the solution given there.
My problem is the following: I have a remote desktop prepared to work as RT target. It has been checked for compatibility, the hard drive has been formatted in FAT32 format, it has been found by my host and has been assigned a static ip address. I have installed the software I need ( LabView 9.0 RT) using MAX. Now, when I try to boot it with the option "boot using software installed into the hard drive", all I get is the message
"Can't find a suitable device for drive C"
I have reseted the BIOS, have tried formatting the hard drive in the other format, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, tried to start the target pc without the usb stick, but nothing seems to work.
Do you have any ideas about what is going wrong?

So you've got a IDE (and not SATA) hard drive? That should be supported anyway.
That would only confirm my experience... it's hard to find hardware compatible with LV RT. Before buying you cannot know if it's compatible. Once you have it the evaluation tool might tell you it's supported but still it might not work. I tried several motherboards in the last years, most of them did not work.
Your best bet might be to use relatively old hardware.

New-CMDeviceVariable not working with -device parameter (PSTypeName mismatch)

I have a problem with the New-CMDeviceVariable powershell command in SCCM 2012 R2. My script does something like this:
$ClientID = 'GUID:xxxx-xxxxxxx-xxx-xx'
$variable = @('Test','ValueTest')
# Get device properties
$Device = Get-CMDevice -name $ComputerName | ?{$_.SMSID -eq $ClientID}
# Add Device variable
New-CMDeviceVariable -IsMask $false -Device $Device -VariableName $variable[0] -VariableValue $variable[1] -ea 1
This results in the following error:
New-CMDeviceVariable : Cannot bind argument to parameter 'Device', because PSTypeNames of the argument do not match the PSTypeName required by the parameter: IResultObject#SMS_R_System.
So the command expects input of type IResultObject#SMS_R_System while the Get-CMDevice command outputs
IResultObject#SMS_CombinedDeviceResources. The technet article of the New-CMDeviceVariable clearly states that the correct way to get the device object is through the Get-CMDevice command (see
article).
The only way to get this command to work is to use the -DeviceName parameter. Sadly, we have had issues in our test environment where we'd have multiple CMdevices with the same name, hence the SMSID solution. The only other option would be to use the -DeviceID
parameter. However, I've not been able to get this working using $device.resourceID as a value (which I assume is the ID the command needs). This fails without an error.
Can anyone explain what the proper way is to get around this issue? I've been racking my brain but I can't seem to find a solution for this.

I'm not sure what the difference is, but with me it runs without problems by using Get-CMDevice. Minor detail, the result is the same as with your other option(s), it doesn't create the variable...
At this moment a workaround could be to use WMI and do something like this:

HT3728 AIRPORT UTILITY IS UNABLE TO FIND ANY WIRELESS DEVICE 5.6.1

Ok So I have bought a 2TB Time Capsule, for the past few weeks we have been doing our backups on it etc and just using our already installed Netgear wireless router. Tonight I decided I would "extend an already existing wireless router" - after following all the steps etc and then clicking apply etc, the Airport Utility said that it would need to restart the time capsule etc. After about 5 mins and it looked like it had frozen, airport utility re-started and now all i get is:
"Airport Utility is Unable to find any wireless device. Make Sure the Airport Wireless Device you want to set up is plugged in and in range of your computer, and then click rescan"
I have clicked Rescan like 10 times
I have quit and restarted Airport Utility as well as my Mac OSX 10.5.8
I have pulled the Time Capsule plug out of it and restarted it
I have turned of my airport on my computer and turned it back on again
I have read a number of posts - yet nothing seems to give me any more options other than to rescan.

If you are trying to connect the Time Capsule to the Netgear router using a wireless only connection, Apple's "extend a wireless network" feature was designed to only work with other Apple routers. It is extremely unlikely that this setting would work with a Netgear product.
You will need to start over again and perform a Factor Default Reset on the Time Capsule and then re-configure it back to the original settings that you set up previously.

- I just updated the firmware on my base station (it a white dome?? i think snow?) to 5.7
- I am running AirPort Utility 5.5.2 (also recently updated)
- I have (3) AirPort Expresses (just updated firmware yesterday) and now are not being seen in the airport utility. They had been running for about two years just fine.
I have done a hard reset and was then able to see the Airport Express and go through set up. Upon finalizing the set up I get this message:
"Airport Utility was unable to find your Airport device after restarting."
This is happening with all 3 AirPort Expresses

I had the same kind of problems when I upgraded to the latest version of Airport (5,7).
The Airport express seemed to have been disconnected, and nothing I could do to reconfigure it, after hard resetting it, seemed to be working.
I did two or three hard resets before remembering having been in a situation like that a while ago.
I went back to the Mini, **deactivated the firewall (in the "preferences" panel), then deactivated also the firewall of the Modem/router provided for my internet connection. Then I went in the other room and did another hard reset of the Airport express, came back in the mini's room, opened the Airport utility, the icon of the Airport express was already visible (which wasn't the case before... ), did the re-configuring.
The reconfigured Airport express reappeared very quickly, then I reactivated the firewalls of the Mini and the router. Voilà !
It took less than two minutes !
And since then the Mini have been streaming music without a glitch to the Airport express.
I hope this will help you and others !
