Impossible to get iCloud to shut up

My iCloud account has been unused. Since IOS7 my iPhone 4S 16 GB constantly pops up a message to sign in to iCloud but I can't it is using a long dead email and I don't have the password - or at least the one on record in my Notes is rejected. iForgot goes nowhere because the email does not exit. I have to sign in to be able to switch my account. What can I do to kill the messages/kill the bad account/switch the account?

Try deleting your last backup by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, swipe across your backup and tap Delete, then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on again. If it still won't back up, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

My iCloud works perfectly across my MBA, iPhone 4, iPad Mini etc. I did find it easier when starting to set things up to start with one item to sync.
I started with Reminders and went through all the General settinsg as well as Reimnder specific settings. Then just parlayed that process into each app I wanted to sync.

3. Reminders = on
MBA (connected to the Net through wireless)
1. Settings
2. Icloud (ensure apple id id corect and the same as on your iphone)
3. Calendars and Reminders = On
Type a new reminder on your MBA...
- your iphone should be updated. My iphone updated in less than 1 sec after I keyed it into my MBA

How do I get iCloud on my windows xp pc

Apple, this annoys the **** out of me, why can't I get my photos and videos that I take with my iPhone 4s onto my pc just by syncing to my iTunes. My phone uploads photos to the iCloud but where the **** is that as my iTunes doesn't show anything about this. How do I get iCloud on my windows xp pc. It shouldn't be this difficult to do surely. You give us a great camera to use on our phone but then make it impossible to load them onto the computer. Please help as android is calling

ICal on mac not getting iCloud data

I'm having trouble with iCal on my macbook air syncing with iCloud. When i add an event to iCal on my macbook it syncs with icloud.com and the calender on my iphone perfectly. However, if i add an event on icloud.com or the Calendar on my iphone it does not appear on iCal on my mac.
Any advice would be great!

iCloud is only set to work (properly at least) with Lion. Nice that they didn't tell anyone that ahead of time. Seems like many of us are now having syncing and other issues. Haven't found a solution yet-- and don't even know how to un-do the Cloud to at least have working programs for now.
I've seen numerous error messages and Apple is so backed up on their support lines that it's almost impossible to get through. I made a Genius Bar appt to see if they can work through it. Don't know if that might help for you, too.
One other note on Lion: My brother works at Apple Corporate and says not to take Lion yet since it has too many bugs they haven't worked through yet and causes many things to crash. Just an FYI since taking Lion at least might make the Cloud work better. But I've also been reading of people w/Lion having issues, too.
Guess this is the bad side of new products until they work through it all. Sorry I couldn't offer more-- but see if your issues might be not having Lion as your OS.

Here is what I see..
Can't select the backup = I go to Settings>iCloud>Backup (shows off). I select > Backup(off)> and see iCloud Backup grayed out (not selectable).
I have plenty of storage available: Settings>iCloud>Storage shows 195GB Available
When I select: Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage> My iPhone does not show up under the backup list. I use this iPhone with iTunes (if that matters).
When I select: Settings>iCloud>Photos(On)> iCloud Photo Library (Beta) is selected on and shows "Uploading 1,131 items". But does not start upload and the message always remains the same. Tried shutting the Photo Library (Beta) on an off and no change. Also tried it after the reset and sow no difference.
On that same Settings>iCloud>Photos page there is a selection Upload to My Photo Stream. Prior to installing iOS 8, pictures I took with my phone would automatically copy over to the photo stream on the other 3 devices on my account when in the presence of WiFi. The other 3 still do it and are all running iOS 8. This iPhone stopped doing it after the iOS 8 Update and installation of iCloud. It was working before on iOS 7.
The only different app that this iPhone has is a WirWatch, which is used to receive pushed e-mails from work onto my computer. This App was there when I was running iOS 7. Don't know if it could be the reason. But none of the other devises have this feature.

I have changed my apple id on system preferences under users and groups but the icloud preferences don't pick up the change.
I restarted my computer, and still no change.
I have been using icloud under my old apple id for mail calendars and notes.
How do I get icloud account information to change on my mac's system preferences and match my new apple id?

Thank you Roger, your solution gave me the courage to sign out of Systems Preferences. The pop up told me it was going to delete my contact and other information from my mac, so I was hesitant to do that. Well I did as you directed and I was able to sign in with my new apple id and I did not lose the information the pop up threatened I was going to. So again thank you. It is the little things that make a big difference sometimes.

My Apple ID and password works for iTunes and App Store. I'm trying to set up iCloud on my iPhone and iPad but i keep getting an error message that reads unsupported ID. Apple ID must be in the form of email address (@me.com). I don't have a MobileMe account. How can I get iCloud to accept my working Apple ID and password?

I've also reset my password to my Apple ID. I still get the Unsupported ID and password.

Hi there, can anyone help me with this? I have been trying all day to get icloud to work on my computer. I have successfully downloaded it on to my laptop. I am having trouble creating an iCloud ACCOUNT as it won't let me sign in with my Apple ID until I have created an iCloud account and there are no instructions on HOW this is done, unless I am overlooking something. I have a 3rd Generation iPod Touch 16GB, which should be able to link up with icloud, but I am getting nowhere fast and getting frustrated with all the stonewalling. PLEASE HELP ME.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.

Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

HT1557 how do I get icloud on my mac?

I have both an iPhone 5 and Ipad mini which both use iCloud and which I find great as my photos are shared between the both. I also have a Mac Book so thought I'd take the plunge and set it up on there too. However, it doesn't appear in the System Preferences. I have a MacBook Pro running Max OS X 10.6.8 and from viewing some documents on the Apple Website it says to go into System Preferences, and set up iCloud from under the Internet & Wireless section. The trouble is, I only have an option for MobileMe (which I am assuming has now been replaced by iCloud?). Can anyone tell me how I get 'MobileMe' updated, or get iCloud on my Mac please? I updated to Mountain Lion. I noticed 2 problems I would like to resolve. I can no longer get iCloud or Security

Since updating to Mountain Lion I cannot LOAD iCloud or Security & Privacy. It just says ..."Loadind iCloud or Security & Privacy". Then I have to kill the process in Activity Monitor since it taks 99%+ of cpu. How can I get iCloud and Security & Privacy to load?

I tried the part about logon as ROOT and rename the Preferences file and logon as normal but that did not correct my problem.

They are in the itunes library, but I dont know how to get them back on my phone. It only allows me to sync with my phone, which is empty???

If the information is in iTunes on the computer you have synced with in the past another sync, being sure you select the items you want on the iphone, should copy those things back to the iPhone.

How do U get icloud to appear in the finder

in Mountain Lion you can save text edit files to the icloud. How do I get iCloud to appear in the sidebar in Finder. On icloud only iwork is displayed for files. I usedropbox and it looks just like any other folder in Finder. Does iCloud behave the same?

Thanks. It began to dawn on me that this was the case as I try to poke around for ways to do this. I will continue to use Dropbox which works fantastically. Just wonder why Apple would come up with such a limited option.

I cannot get Icloud for windows update 4.0.2 to install on my Win 8.1 Pro PC its an AMD 64 bit processor.
I get a message that saysI cannot get Icloud for windows update 4.0.2 to install on my Win 8.1 Pro PC
I get the update notification and authorize its installation and it try's but fails.
I have down loaded the update and tried installation manually but it doesn't work.
I get the following message after it fails:
Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Dowmnload only and try installing manually.
I have tried this many times to no avail

I have been getting the same message for a few days now. Apple must have an a bug in this update
