Impossible to load the PDF preset "Rich Content PDF"

hello,
The loading of the preset "Rich Content PDF" failed.
I Choose Edit > Adobe PDF Presets. I Click Import, and I select the "Rich Content PDF.joboptions" file.
But I have an error message (Impossible to copy the PDF preset).
Can you help me?

Does any one know where I can download or install the Rich Content PDF job option? I am running windows XP SP2, and Acrobat 8.1.1

It is one of the PDF presets for conversion settings. Below is from the Arcobat help:
A PDF preset is a group of settings that affect the process of creating a PDF. These settings are designed to balance file size with quality, depending on how the PDF will be used. Most predefined presets are shared across Adobe Creative Suite applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. You can also create and share custom presets for your unique output requirements.
A few of the presets listed below are not available until you move themas neededfrom the Extras folder (where they installed by default) to the Settings folder. Typically, the Extras and Settings folders are found in (Windows) Documents and Settings/All Users/Shared Documents/Adobe PDF or (Mac OS) Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF. Some presets are not available in some Creative Suite applications.
Rich Content PDF
Creates accessible PDF files that include tags, hyperlinks, bookmarks, interactive elements, and layers. This set of options uses PDF 1.5 and embeds subsets of all fonts. It also optimizes files for byte serving. These PDF files can be opened in Acrobat 6.0 and Adobe Reader 6.0 and later. (The Rich Content PDF preset is in the Extras folder.)
Note: This preset was called eBook in earlier versions of some applications.

Exporting links from Photoshop into a PDF (Rich Content PDF?)

Hi there,
I built my resume in Photoshop and typically I've been exporting to a PDF and then handling link creation within Adobe Acrobat itself. I'm wondering if there's a way to streamline this process such that links can be created within Photoshop and exported directly into the PDF file. This would save me the hassle of recreating links in Acrobat every time I modified the resume in Photoshop.
I've read about a Rich Content PDF extension/extra that is typically located in the Extras folder. I was able to successfully locate it and have Photoshop use it, but I don't know how to get links to actually be recognized by this plugin. My original hypothesis was to use slices (designating a region as a slice and then assigning it a link), but the Rich Content PDF export option did not recognize links through slices. Is there another way to do this or another way to create links in Photoshop such that it can be exported to a PDF (either through this plugin or otherwise)?

In addition, the resume is already created in the program I'm comfortable with - I'm certainly not opposed to picking up a new tool and learning how to use it, but my question specifically was simply asking if there was a way to export links from Photoshop into a PDF as that would be the most time-efficient.

Illustrator: Rich Content PDF has no rich content

when exporting a PDF with hyperlinked slices from Illustrator, i choose the Rich Content PDF option. but when i open the PDF with Acrobat or Preview (i'm on a Mac), the hyperlinks are gone.

But the hyperlinks can be recreated in Acrobat Pro using its toolset. I never knew that you couldn't export hyperlinks from AI. Thanks for the info.

On my flash, I already have those parameters in place.
I don't think there would be any security issues however, since I have used a player .swf which loads from the media site and plays the videos without a problem.

Now, I am pretty much doing the same thing, but this time embedding the other swf to load the videos. As I mentioned, I was able to do this when everything was on our server, but now there is an issue for some reason when I try to load the .flv into the .swf from the other media server.

Impossible to load the BookStoreServlet

Hi,
Running through the tutorial for J2EE 1.4_beta2. Came across a problem, which i know has been before on this forum: but back then not a sufficient answer was given.
After deploying the bookstore1.war, and calling localhost/bookstore1/bookstore (the alias for BookStoreServlet) this is what i get:
HTTP Status 404 - Servlet BookStoreServlet is not available
type Status report
message Servlet BookStoreServlet is not available
description The requested resource (Servlet BookStoreServlet is not available) is not available.
I know it has something to do with the database BookDB because the servlet without DBase connections DOES load (the banner servlet). But to put it simply I DON'T KNOW WHAT!!
the jdbc connection pool AND jdbc resource are SET (apparently because when i try and run it with ANT it says "BUILD FAILED" because they both already exist!)
Hope anyone has a suggestion because, i've been fiddling with it for an hour now

Adobe Reader and Internet Explorer will not load the lastest version of a PDF off a website.

Even after trying to force a refresh with Ctrl - F5 the newest version of the PDf will not load.
We have tried clearing IE cache and restarting, and this does not fix the issue.
This issue is showing up on mutliple user accounts.
This is happening on IE 9 and 10, and several different version of Adobe read 9 and 10.

Okay. If you can provide an external example for me to look at I will know more. In the meantime, let's start by determining if this really is related to a locally cached file. Instead of clearing the IE cache, use the Windows Disk Clean-Up tool (in Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools) to clean up as much as possible. With IE and Reader closed, I would certainly check "Temporary Internet Files" "Offline Webpages" and "Temporary files" and you can clean-up more if you want. See if this solves the problem (it should). If this solves the problem then at least we will have confirmed that there is something on cached locally that it causing the problem.

PDF Preset - making a custom PDF preset the "default" selection

Hello- I always use the same PDF preset when saving pdfs at my job. But every time I go to save a document as a pdf I have to use the drop down menu to choose my preset. Is there anyway to make the program default to my custom preset? This seems to happen automatically in Indesign, but I cannot get it to work in illustrator.

I'm having the same issue. The Adobe PDF Presets window (from the Edit menu) lets you add/delete and import/export. However, I see no method to designate a specific preset as the default. So as you describe, I'm having to choose the Preset from the drop-down menu each time. While I can make AppleScripts that utilize the preset I need, it's a pain to have to make the drop-down selection when I'm working on just one file. Since I use a particular PDF Preset +90% of the time, it would be great to have the option to set it as the default. If I find any work around, I'll post it here. Thanks - Josh

Media Services defines a set of encoding presets you can use when creating encoding jobs.
You can either use one of the task preset strings defined
here.

How to include security settings into InDesign PDF presets?

I have prepared an InDesign template for multiple users in my team. Ihave created a set of PDF presets for exporting PDFs to keepconsistency. I want to protect all the PDF files with password and haveto include the password protection in the PDF presets. But InDesign PDFpreset is not supporting the security tab.
Currently I have suggested the batch command in Acrobat Pro for security settings.
It would be much helpful if Adobe help me in this.

PDF Preset (joboptions)

Hi,
Where do PDF Preset files or joboptions files need to be stored for InDesign CS3 Server to "see" them. Would InDesign Server need to be restarted to pick up changes to the Presets?

Hi Simon,
InDesign save a preset in the default Settings folder in the Adobe PDF folder. InDesign server looks into this Folder.
Example:
In InDesign:
1. Choose File > Adobe PDF Presets > Define.
2. Do one of the following:
- To create a new preset, click New. If you want to base the new preset on an existing preset, select the preset first. Set PDF options, and click OK.
- Or... To edit an existing custom preset, select the preset and click Edit. (You cannot edit the default presets.) Set PDF options, and click OK.
If u click "OK", InDesign save a preset in the default Settings folder in the Adobe PDF folder. InDesign server looks into this Folder.
3. Start or restart InDesign Server
In your JavaScript ( i hope u use JavaScript) insert the lines:

Error while loading PDF Preset file

Dear All,
I am trying to create a PDF of the InDesign Document after my process. For that I load the preset file generate the PDF and unload Preset file from the server. On this it gets removed properly from the temporary folder also.
Problem is when I run the process second time using the same preset file InDesign Server throws an error "This file is already open by another user or another application. This file may be stored on a network server and cannot be opened until the other user closes it."
It works only if I restart the server. Can somebody help me on this its urgent.

I just loaded the most recent FFox8, and gmail messages no longer load. All I get is an ad, and a blank. If I try to reply, a message says "cannot load rich text editor.

gmail loads, but when I click on an email, the body is blank, except for a two-line text ad. I can see the source code via the menu selection.
I tried to "reply" and see if I could read the attached email, but I got a message that said "cannot load the rich text editor"

Unfortunately, for your endeavor, PDF is not a file format that supports edit-layout-format activities such as are in word processors.
Not an "issue" - rather, it reflects what PDF was/is designed to be.
While minor editing ("touchups") are possible extensive editing of PDF content is not.
What you appear to have encounterd with the process used to convert something to PDF is something that happens rather too often.
That is, many non-Adobe PDF creation processes to not provide "proper" PDF.
Which is to say PDF built to the Adobe PDF References or, now, the ISO Standard for PDF (32000-1:2008).
As you have Acrobat Pro perhaps using it to convert the document's authoring file to PDF via print to Distiller or via Adobe PDFMaker is something to consider. These convert to PDF per the PDF References/ISO Standard.

I am using CS4 and Windows 7. I have a .joboptions file I want to load in InDesign, but when I try, I get the error message: Cannot create the file. The folder may be write protected.
I am a local administrator on the computer.
I have tried manually copying the .joboptions file into the folder C:\Users\<my profile>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings, but it doesn’t show up in the list of available presets.
I used the same version of InDesign with Windows XP and was able to load and save presets this way just fine.

Thank for the tip. But unfortunately it is only a partial solution.
When I 'run as administrator' in Windows 7 I have no problems, that is a bit of a solution, but for me it is a mere workaround.
I want to find out how I can load and save PDF export settings without running as Adminstrator, since we have 7 people using the presets and they don't want to run InDesign everytime as an Administrator.
I have all the rights (local admin) to all folders, therefore I was hoping somebody already fixed this in his/her system...
Hope Adobe comes up with some sort of solution for this apperently Windows 7 problem.
