Impossible to Start Dreamweaver CS5.5 evaluation
Hi,
I install Dreamweaver CS5.5 to try it during evaluation period ... but impossible to pass the License dialog box. I accept it, the dialog box disapear ... and reappears again and so on indefinitely.
Anyone know the problem please?
I get this with PageSucker and CAPTCHA pages. I get about 250 levels of empty folders inside other empty folders. It takes about two hours of renaming just to be abke to delete the stack.
If anyone knows how to do this, I'd love to hear it.
Are these files on a local server?
Does this happen through normal FTP?

Dreamweaver cs5 hangs on start
every time i start dreamweaver cs5, it get stuck on initializing files, i cant even do end task on it. i tried giving administrator permission, try switching to xp compatible or vista, nothing works. anyone knows what can be the problem?
i have attack the image on what it get stuck on.John Waller wrote:
I do remember that the date at launch was sometime in May.
Regardless, it's here now and the calls for help have already begun.
I don't think anyone from Adobe ever said officially that it would be shipping in May. The shipping date was never publicly revealed, but the only suprise for me was that it was released three hours earlier than I expected. On reflection, though, it made perfect sense. It was released at 9pm Pacific Time on 29 April, which was midnight UTC on 30 April.
The fact that people need to call for help is disappointing, but perhaps inevitable. Everyone's computer is configured differently. It's impossible for the engineering team and beta testers to cover every possible combination. I don't know how many people are involved in beta testing, but when things go wrong, the engineers bend over backwards to get to the root of the problem.
I have been running Dreamweaver CS5 on Windows 7 and Snow Leopard for many months without problems, even though I have been uninstalling and reinstalling different builds on an almost weekly basis. That's no comfort to people who are experiencing difficulties, but CS5 has been thoroughly tested and is very stable. -
"Owl Orphanage" error in Dreamweaver CS5 - ordinal not found
About 3 weeks ago, I started getting this dialog box whenever I start Dreamweaver CS5:
For the sake of search engines, it says
Owl Orphanage: Dreamweaver.exe - Ordinal Not Found
The ordinal 3712 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll.
When I click the X or the OK button, the dialog goes away and pops up again immediately. When I click X or OK a second time, Dreamweaver starts normally.
I just reinstalled Dreamweaver, and the problem persists. I haven't yet resorted to uninstalling all of CS5 and reinstalling it, but that's the next step.
Can someone explain what's going on (including why I've been running Dreamweaver for years with no problems and then this suddenly starts happening), and is there a fix for this? Thank you.That's very good information to know - thank you. Unfortunately it doesn't help much since I'm at the mercy of AMD for graphics drivers. But at least I can report this to them, maybe they'll fix it.

Cannot get Dreamweaver CS5 To work properly
I have installed and uninstalled Dreamweaver CS5 several times, I have deleted the config file and still cannot get Dreamweaver to work properly. When I start dreamweaver CS5 the spash screen doesn't display properly, when the program opens up I am unable to manage sites all that is visible is the text box for site name and site address, nothing else is visible.
I have run a registry clean program to remove any traces of previous versions of dreamweaver to no avail. I do not receive any error messages at any point dreamweaver will just not work properly.
Thank you for your assistance.Registry cleaners don't remove everything. Many files are in hidden folders within the user accounts on the operating systems. Have you tried the clean tool?
http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Also, something else to consider, try making another user account on the computer and see if that helps. I've seen user profiles on computers become corrupt and can cause this issue as well. -
Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start, cannot find configuration file
Dreamweaver Could not locate the Resource file in the Configuration folder. This file is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application.
Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start due to the error message above.
Found the configuration folder but on my roaming profile on the server, not on C drive.
Note that I installed Dreamweaver on the second partition of the hard disk, not on C drive due to lack of space. Other Adobe CS5 software are running well such as Photoshop and InDesign.
I have tried to delete (after backup) the Configuration folder, as I read on this forum that it should be automatically recreated, but no success. Tried to copy the Configuration folder (in fact the entire Adobe folder) to the user profile on C drive, but no success.
On this PC, no previous version of Dreamweaver has been installed. However, I have used older versions on different computers, and there are in the Adobe folder on my roaming profile traces of CS4 and CS6.
Could you please advise?Not sure which thread you have read on this forum but I suggest read this official document and then see if resolves any lingering problems.

Good luck. -
OMG so frustrating, my dreamweaver cs5.5 has started suddenly started crashing either during the splash screen or right after I choose a web site to work on.
YES I have red the forums and tried EVERYTHING, deleted my preferences, made a new account, re-installed three times, editing the registry, done it ALL. It seems to open now in a temp Guest acct with Admin privileges but I can't access any of my web site files, it's really not usable this way...what can I do?
It crashes during this... even though I have cleared the site cache several times.....
How can I have this expensive of a program just not work.....HELP, I have tons to do and can't use my software!
Please someone help!
I even CALLED Adobe and tried to PAY for help.... this is shocking to me after spending tons of money on Adobe software..
Thank you ahead of time.Here's exactly what was at the bottom of my bum css file:
/* Extra small devices (phones, less than 768px) */
/* No media query since this is the default in Bootstrap */
/* Small devices (tablets, 768px and up) */
@media (min-width: @screen-sm-min) { ... }
/* Medium devices (desktops, 992px and up) */
@media (min-width: @screen-md-min) { ... }
/* Large devices (large desktops, 1200px and up) */
@media (min-width: @screen-lg-min) { ... }
So they were completely empty...I just stuck them in there because I wanted to add stuff in there...not sure what I will do now..
Interesting just FYI this is a web site which is utilizing Bootstrap...so these MQ came directly from the getbootstrap.com web site... -
Dreamweaver CS5 suddenly does not start up
Not sure if this is related, but earlier today I did a Microsoft Update on this Windows 2003 Server and re-booted as requested.
When trying to start Dreamweaver, no error message shows on the screen. The Dreamweaver process shows for a couple of seconds in Task Manager then disappears. There is no trace in Event Viewer.When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences - this will wipe out any installed extensions and personal settings you may have.

Hallo,
I did Tutorial: Displaying Database Info in the Missing Manual for Dreamweaver CS5.5.
My problem is with "Editing a Recordset and Linking to a Detail Page" (which starts at pg 1002:
I did this exercise ,over 5 times nowe, but every time with "Building the Detailed Product Page" at pg 1007, I get a bad result.
I only get one page (the default one with productID = 1) for every link on the indexpage.
In the adressbar (Live View) I see the right adress: for example: http://localhost/cos...hp?productID=16, but for all productID's only the detailspage for productID are shown.
There is also a message: Notice: Use of undefined constant ‘productID’ - assumed '‘productID’' in E:\xampp\htdocs\cosmo_shop\product.php on line 34
But I don't understand what could be wrong in this line.
Here is the code lines 33 -48: is is about the second line:
$varProduct_rsDetails = "32";
if (isset($_GET[‘productID’])) {
$varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET[‘productID’];
mysql_select_db($database_connCosmo, $connCosmo);
$query_rsDetails = sprintf("SELECT products.productID, products.productName, products.price, products.`description`, products.inventory, products.image, vendors.vendorName FROM products, vendors WHERE products.vendorID = vendors.vendorID AND products.productID = %s ", GetSQLValueString($varProduct_rsDetails, "int"));
$rsDetails = mysql_query($query_rsDetails, $connCosmo) or die(mysql_error());
$row_rsDetails = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsDetails);
$totalRows_rsDetails = mysql_num_rows($rsDetails);
mysql_select_db($database_connCosmo, $connCosmo);
$query_rsCategories = "SELECT * FROM categories ORDER BY categoryName ASC";
$rsCategories = mysql_query($query_rsCategories, $connCosmo) or die(mysql_error());
$row_rsCategories = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsCategories);
$totalRows_rsCategories = mysql_num_rows($rsCategories);
?>
Can someone tell me what is going on here?
Kind regards, Ans HekermanI can manually type in double brackets, like this:
$varProduct_rsDetails = "1";
if (isset($_GET["productID"])) {
$varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET["productID"];
this is accepted; no syntax-error report.
I can manually type in single brackets, like this:
$varProduct_rsDetails = "1";
if (isset($_GET['productID'])) {
$varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET['productID'];
this is also accepted; no syntax-error report.
Dreamweaver itself made this code:
$varProduct_rsDetails = "32";
if (isset($_GET[‘productID’])) {
$varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET[‘productID’];
this was not OK; there was a syntax-error report.
But strange enough, when I do paste this now from here, it is accepted.
So the problem has been, that DW created code that gave a syntax error.
I could repair it by replacing the single qoutes of DW, by typing single quotes in DW manually, or by typing in in DW manually double qoutes!!!
So maybe everybode was right!!!
But is was a very bad problem; maybe a "bug" of the program?
I repeated this about 10 times before I got the solution frome this Forum. -
Dreamweaver cs5 problems and adobe support close the case on you
I emailed Adobe support with the message below and they closed the case on me and told me to go over to the developers connection website and open a case there. Well of course there is no where to open a case there, it brings you back to the normal support pages, so I opened a case again!
This is just one of the flaws in Cs5 I've found from intensive useage yesterday.
1. Hangs for nearly 2 minutes if you use an external link to ny file like jquery in the header of the pages - detailed below
2. Sometimes when selecting a related file it says "not on server" and actually tries to open ANOTHER ftp connection listed. It switches connection and then says"not on server" - well of course not....because it just changed to another server! However many time you change it back, it won't have it.
3. The pop up css is a good idea but not well thought out. I have to right click to get inspect but when I roll over the areas it doesn't show the css in the css panel. If I right click and select to show the code, it shows me the css, I then have to click it to select it in the left column. All very long winded... WHY NOT JUST CLICK AN AEA ON THE LIVE VIEW PAGE AND IT SHOWS THE CSS THERE INSTANTLY TO EDIT?!
4. On first open after a quit and relaunch, or restart, switching from normal view to live view hangs Dreamweaver for over a minute before live view is displayed.
Very very buggy and I feel I have paid for a beta version.
Hello I now have Dreamweaver CS5.
It has MAJOR flaw.
If a webpage contains the code
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script>#
It takes over 1 minute to open each page after launching
This is caused by the 'related files' facility
THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE in software which is this expensive.
All design companies such as us use jquery.
Please fix this flaw asap or supply me with a fix. Turning of related files
helps but if I was to do that what would be the point in
having that facility? (which I am paying for!)Hi,
Appreciate your reply and accept what you say, I'll take on board the suggestions.
My answers under yours below
Second, the Bug Report form is here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform . Technical support is not a bug reporting center, nor are they developers which is why they probably closed your case. And there really are not any questions in your support request it reads like a bug report and an angry one at that, not even starting out calm, shouting almost immediately.
- Frustration, I've been up all night, hours messing with it.
Thanks for the link, I'll post to that. I personally don't agree that bugs this big should be present in software of such high upgrade fee's and which should have been tested but I guess we all know its the way of the world now.
1. Why are you working with remote website files that are not part of your domain and not in your local site? This is a bad practice to get in the habit of. If their website shuts down, so does the functionality of yours. Many here will argue that point.
- This is a valid point I've come across before and reading up on it I found it was said that the site in question was on cloud servers, mirrored etc. The link I posted was from someone elses post who was having a similar problem. I personally use the flowplay/jquery main link which has ALL the jquery plugins/effects so whatever is used on that page works.
http://cdn.jquerytools.org/1.1.2/full/jquery.tools.min.js
We did this as it seemed that was what everyone was doing, it seems I am wrong and I take on board your comments about downloading the file.
2. "Sometimes". That is the key word in your statement. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. What happens when it says "Sometimes not on server" and what happens in the other times. What's different? It's usually hard to believe it's random luck. But developers in a bug report need to know these things. What's different about the file(s)? Is it with certain file(s), type(s), etc? How would it open another FTP connection, do you have multiple FTP locations defined within one site definition?
I probably used the wrong word in 'sometimes' - A better description would be "some of the related files". When live view is on the right and code on the left, related files across the top. If I hover my mouse over the files, it tells me where they are. This info is incorrect on 'some' of the files, not all of them but about 8 out of 10.
It shows the file as being in the folder of another account in the site defs, but its not in there, it's in the one I'm working on (and which is live in the ftp file window). So if I click on the file to view it, it says its not available, and asks if I want to download it from the server. That doesn't work because it then tries to switch the ftp connection to the other site and download.
I thought it was muddled so I removed all the ftp sites and set up just one, the one I was working on. But that didn't work... it then thinks the related files are in "unnamed site 1" - anywhere but looking in its own folder or on its own ftp server!
4. You seem to be referring to Question #1 here so that is answered.
"Please fix this flaw asap or supply me with a fix." - So you are saying Please fix this flaw with a patch or give me the patch. Again, this sounds like you want to file a bug report and not create a support request.
- Accepted, you are right, its a bug report, just they directed me to the developer website and I kept ending up here, so began to believe this is where I should be posting.
"All design companies such as us use jquery". - While I wouldn't be so quick to say all, but rather most, I would say see my answer to #1. Why make your site dependent on someone else's?
- Accepted, I appreciate your honest comments and critism and fot taking the time to reply :-) -
Problem playing an imported flash template in dreamweaver cs5
hi,i just downloaded a flash template from flashmo.com and imported it to dreamweaver cs5 through Insert > media > SWF and it loaded. but the problem is, when i click the live view or play the file in the properties,nothing shows up.except some texts "loading XML data..."
all the flash templates i have downloaded face this prob. i have no idea where is the mistake.
what could be the problem?any help,plz.From their website:
" Adobe Flash (version 8 or higher) is required to edit the
FLA file.
- Use the source codes at your own risk after downloading and
flashmo.com is
not responsible for any bugs or errors caused by
ActionScripts."
Do you own Flash? Are you familliar with action scripts? If
not, then you
probably want to start with a plain html template and learn
how to code html
and CSS. Flash sites look nice but they are not friendly for
Search Engines
or users who don't have flash player installed on their
system.
Here are some on-line tutorials to help you get started with

Error when starting Dreamweaver CC after first installation
I'm running CC under OS X 10.9. Having installed Dreamweaver CC as an admin-user using the CC Manager Dreamweaver doesn't start. The dreamweaver icon is shown in the OS X dock for a second, then disappears without starting dreamweaver.
Repairing the disk permissions won't help. Uninstalling an reinstalling Dreamweaver CC won't help.
Dreamweaver CS5 runs without problems, also Photoshop / Bridge / Premiere CC.
Thank you for any help!Jeff A Wright, thank you for responding!
The Dreamweaver log file reports some errors like "Unable to delete directory "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/..." I assigned the necessary rights to this directory including all subdirectories: Dreamweaver starts and works fine!
I hope this will solve the InDesign problem as well; I'll try and report. -
Dreamweaver CS5 fails to open XP-Resolution Here!
Hi,
We had an issue with Dreamweaver CS5 opening under a standard user on XP Pro SP3.
The resolution....
Open msconfig and disable everything to do with Adobe. Simple! Don't mess with config files, re-install; it doesn't work! Stopping Adobe things from running seems to so far.
Before Dreamweaver will show the green startup box and then completly close, no error, warning, crash, etc.
The proceedure as follows:-
Start > Run... type msconfig
Startup Tab
Untick anythings that has Adobe in its program line/path
Click Apply/OK
Restart
Tick the box for the msconfig window to not show, then click ok if it shows up.
Open Dreamweaver, worked a treat on ones I tried. This solution also works for Bridge CS5 not opening and crashing (Bridge has stopped working) under Windows 7 x64; even after Adobe looked at the issue and were clueless!
If you want any more info, let me know.Sorry I can't be more help. This is a user to user forum, and I'm a designer rather than a technician. How about contacting Adobe Technical support?

Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 Updater
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
this happens continual when I try to update minor increments for my CS5 Master collection no matter what application update I try.
No help available to resolve this problem...
William Bell.thank you,
I downloaded updates and installed manually, had to mess around a bit.
Start the updater from the program first, then install from the download.
Also, moved plugins that are for Premier from common plugins directory,
to the Premier plugins directory. Stopped the error I got launching After Effects
that said to reinstall the plugins.
Cheers!

Dreamweaver CS5 Frequent Crash on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
Hi,
We recently purchased a new Mac Pro for our web designer. It came with Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and we installed Adobe CreativeSuite 5 on the computer and applied all the updates. Ever since, she's been having very frequent random crashes from Dreamweaver and Bridge. It can happen anytime. Sometimes while she's saving, sometimgs just moments after started up. I've included the crash log below, and hoping that someone might be able to shed some light on why it's crashing and how I can remedy the problem.
Thanks.

F3 gives me mission control and the little window for Elements does show the Title Bar and the red, yellow, green icons (if Elements was the active window; otherwise the icons are grey ... but are there). So, got me thinking, maybe it got stuck part way moving it to the upper screen since you have to move it quickly through the task bar when you drag it with the mouse. I disconnected the second screen and the Title Bar came back. I used it to move the Elements window down a bit away from the task bar, reconnected the second display, and was then able to move the Elements windows up to the second display. Thanks ... all is now well again!

Dreamweaver CS5.5 won't open
Hello alltogether.
I've installed Design Premium CS5.5 Student for Mac fresh from Disc.
And directly after the Setup, all apps would run perfectly fine.
But Dreamweaver is the exception.
Everytime I want to start Dreamweaver, an error occurs.
This Error tells me, that i can't run Power PC Applications on Mountain Lion.
Today I tried to run the new Update.
I hoped that this Update would correct this.
But the Adobe Updater shows the error U44M1P7 for Dreamweaver.
I tried to install it manually with a download, but this throws the same error.
Is there a Solution for this?
I hope there is someone that can help me.
Greetings,
Fabian GrunauNarwahls did you receive any error messages during the install process? You can check your installation logs by following the steps listed at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html. There is information in this document for how to locate and interpret the log files.

Deleting photos from the camera rol but not from photostream
When deleting photos from the camera rol, sometimes the delete action triggers the deletion of the photo in the photostream as well, sometimes not. What triggers this and how to prevent the photo to be deleted from the photostream as well ?

Where is the "Reject" label stored
Is the "Reject" label stored in the IPTC or XMP files? If so, what is it's variable name? I'm trying to kludge a couple of other viewers (which have some attributes that Bridge does not) so that they will show the "Reject" label in a manner similar
