Impossible to Sync Contacts and calendar with ITune 7

Since I upgrade to ITune 7, I am not able to sync Calendar and contacts with Ipod. I always have this message: Impossible to sync because Office 2003 or later is required. The problem is that I have Office 2003.

U just need to unistall and reinstall icloud control panel!

  • Can I sync contacts and calendars with iTunes Match enabled?

I’m getting an iPhone in a couple of weeks and really want iTunes match but the more I read about it the more I’m wondering whether it’ll be worth the hassle. I’ve loads of old CD rips at 128 kbps and protected iTunes files, also at 128 kbps, and what really attracts me is the idea of upgrading all these to unprotected 256 kbps.
I have a Macbook for personal use and a PC for work, being able to sync both computers to the phone will be essential for me. I know that I wouldn’t be able to sync music with iTunes match enabled but if I can sync contacts and calendars and drag Office documents to the phone from both computers that would be OK.
Please could someone tell me whether this would be possible?

I think I understand now, it's nothing to do with syncing music - everything is synced through iTunes. Have I understood properly?
    Yes. Including music.

This could be a major blow for me as I'll be using the iPhone mainly for work so I will have to Sync with the PC. If I understand this correctly, once I decide to sync with Outlook on the PC as the main priority I can no longer sync with the Macbook?
What if I ditch iCloud and sync everything through USB?
If it is possible for you to do so you might want to consider signing up for an iCloud account <http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html>. Keep in mind that iCloud and iTunes Match are seperate services. One does not require the other. However iCloud will work with Outlook 2007 and up so you can keep all your contacts in sync across the devices. You can also sign up for iTunes Match if you want. Or you might even consider using Google to do what you want. It is not necessary for you to keep syncing via USB, unless that is just what you are comfortable doing.

  • Why won't my iPhone 4S sync contacts and calendars with iTunes on my Mac?

I've checked settings on both and they seem fine. Music and photos sync fine but not calendars and contacts. Any ideas?

    Hello RMC1,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPhone. If the issue is limited to Contact and Calendars not syncing, even with the correct settings, when connecting your iPhone to iTunes via USB, you may want to try resetting Sync Services (which is limited to this specific function in Yosemite) and re-enabling your sync-related settings afterwards, as outlined in the following article:

  • Taking FOREVER to sync contacts and calendar with 3G, Itunes8, Leopard

I recently switched from the original iPhone to the 3G model. No problems. Happy with the phone. I also recently "upgraded" to iTunes 8.0. Not happy.
I have about 500 contacts on my computer (running iCal and MS Entourage) and hundreds of appointments in my calendar. It used to take maybe 10 min to sync my phone and macbook pro. now it has been running 45 min and is STILL synching the calendar.
what the heck is going on? anyone else having this problem? Also, I recently (yesterday) upgraded to 10.5.5 but this was happening on 10.5.4 also.
I'm stumped, and I haven't got time to look at this stupid "synch" message all day.
    thanks
    dc

Any way I can sync contacts and calendar between the imac and laptop on the same home network without using icloud
Not unless you upgrade the iMac to Lion v10.7.2 first.

  • Syncing Contacts and Calendar with Outlook

I am unable to sync my contacts and calendar with outlook. I am not sure which version of outlook I have so that may be the problem, is there a way to look up which version of outlook I currently have?
I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service pack 3 it that helps.

When you installed office 2007 did you reinstall iTunes? This may be necessary because the iTunes installation adds a plug-in to Outlook to manage the sync. You may have to completely remove iTunes, reboot, then reinstall it. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925?viewlocale=en_US

  • I only want to sync contacts and calendars with personal folders...

    Hi
I really need some help if anyone can oblige. I've tried my best to sort things out but to no avail:
So, I used to sync my iPhone contacts and calendars with my personal folders, which is the way I wanted it, and still do. Then, I temporarily had an Exchange account running as well as my personal mail. The phone automatically started syncing with the folders associated with the Exchange account.
When I stopped using the exchange account and deleted it, the next time I synced my phone, ALL contacts and calendar entries disappeared - I presume as it was syncing with something that no longer existed. I was rescued by a year-old Plaxo backup - for contacts anyway -, otherwise I'd have been in a proper mess.
Anyway.. the phone STILL wouldn't sync with personal folders despite there being no Exchange for a time, but now I have another (different) temporary Exchange account (this happens when I work longer-term with clients) and once again my phone is syncing with that.
All I want is for my phone to always sync with my personal folders as it once used to do and all would be well with the world.
If anyone can help, I would really really appreciate it.
    Many thanks!

Sync the contacts with whatever cloud service you were syncing them with on your old phone.

  • How can I sync contacts and calendar via iTunes 11.1.8 to iOS 3.1.3 (iPhone 1)?

I am proud owner of an iPhone 1 and it still works fine, but runs on iOS 3.1.3. I updated my 2 year old iMac to Mac OS X (10.9) and I am now using iTunes 11.1.8. Actually, I bought my iMac because I was so enthusiastic to see how smooth syncing with my iPhone worked. Now, since OS X, I can not sync calendar and contacts anymore. I had to reset my iPhone and start from scratch, so contacts and calendar are empty.
Sync via iTunes does not work anymore because Apple deleted the direct sync function and my iPhone's iOS does not support iCloud.
Sync via CalDav does not work, beause for some reason my iCloud account is not approved when trying to create it in mail/calendar/contacts (I tried several times, crosschecked, all data appear correct to me and work in the browser access).
Sync via Google does not work, because obviously, my iOS does not support their calendar and contacts function.
Sync via Windows PC might work, but I would have to set one up from scratch.
Downgrading to iTunes 10.7 failed, because OS X didn't allow it. Downgrading the Mac OS might be an option, but I am already running e.g. Books and using it a lot.
    Any help is welcome.
    Iris
P.S.: I still remember Steve Jobs saying "it simply works!"

Thank you Meta, but I could not get the calendar and contact sync with Gmail to work. Apple support already suggested to use Google or a Windows PC. Maybe I should actually reset and try my old Windows PC. Seriously, ... can this be the solution after a Mac OS update for pure Apple users?

  • HT1296 When synching Outlook Contacts and calendars with iTunes for Windows, I do not get the option to "Synch Contacts with". It says, and cannot be changed, that it is synching with iCloud.  How do I get iTunes to give me an option other than iCloud?

Using iTunes for Windows to synch my Outlook Contacts and Calendars into my iPhone 5, with the iPhone Device designated and in the Info tab, I do not have the option to "Synch Contacts with", but have an unchangeable message that it is synching with iCloud. How do I create that option to synch with Outlook?

    Hi there,
I would recommend taking a look at some of the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • Syncing contacts and calendar with outlook and gmail - use Exchange or not?

I need to sync my contacts and calendar between my iphone and Outlook and google on my laptop. Syncing via iTunes is fine as a backup but not as a constant process. I then saw that Gmail would permit an Exchange account to be used to allow immediate syncing so I installed an Exchange account on the iphone. It works but I now have doubled contacts. Is there a better way of doing this to avoid duplicate contacts? If I dedupe the contacts on the iphone do I risk then deleting contacts in Outlook on my PC? Alternatively if I delete the Exchange account on the iPhone is there a simple way of keeping calendars in sync on Iphone, Google and Outlook? (I just have two gmail accounts and do not have a Microsoft Exchange server)
Grateful for any useful advice on this issue!

FYI I eventually developed a work around that works better. I have a mac at home and a window pc at work. You can use plaxo to sync contacts between the two and the ipod syncs with the mac as advertised. Also as a bonus you don't have to deal with any issues, problems and pains with multiple itunes locations...

  • Sync Outlook contacts and calendar with iTunes between iPhone 4 and Outlook 2010 (32bits) USB only manually, not automatically.

    Hello guys,
After disabeling and enabeling the option automatic sync iPods, iPhones and iPad in iTunes (settings > devices), my iPhone 4 is only syncing manually and not automatically as before the option change.
With manually sync I mean connecting the usb cable and pushing the synchronisation button in iTunes. I reinstalled Outlook (Office 2010 32bit) and iTunes but it did not solve the problem and it's still only manually syncing. I also renewed the Windows Profile. Is there an option I missed in iTunes or Outlook? In Outlook is the iTunes Outlook Addin present and enabled....
How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks, William

Hi, could you specify what you did. It appears that nothing on my iPhone syncs any more. I have an iMac and iPhone 4 running the latest system updates. Thanks!

  • 5th gen iPod Classic will not sync contacts or calendars with itunes 9

I get the following window message when selection contacts to sycn - "iTunes will no longer sync contacts to ipod "MiPod Classic 80". Would you like iTunes to remove contacts previously copied to you ipod?"
Then is has two button choices (Don't remove contact) and (Remove Contacts).
When trying to select calendars I get a window state something like... You can no calendars to sync. Would you like to open iCal to create some. Then it give me a button to do so.
    I do have calendars.
    Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem. When I tell iTunes to sync Contacts, no contacts show up. It asks if I want to add contacts to my Address Book, but when I click okay, all of my 400+ contacts appear as normal in the Address Book. I just can't get iTunes to recognize that I have contacts in my address book.
I think calendars are also missing, but I'm no longer syncing calendars, so I haven't really messed with that.
I actually think the problem started when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, but I don't usually mess with my contacts sync settings, so it could've been a problem prior to that. I just upgraded to iTunes 9 last night, and that did not fix the problem.

  • Syncing Contacts and Calendar with Windows 8.1

Following the recent update to Windows 8.1 and the recent iTunes update, all iCloud calendar events and contacts are deleted. Does anyone know how to re-sync an iPad and iCloud calendar/contacts with a PC on Windows 8.1 platform, running MS Office 2013?

Same problem here. Syncing works fine until it gets to the calendars, then it goes forever. This was an immediate problem upon update to 8.1, as everything worked great until that point. Looking at the task manager under windows during the sync, there's very little activity going on. I'm trying a restore now to see if that helps, didn't see the comment about the birthdays until too late . All I have to do is turn off calendar syncing and it works. Interestingly, if I turn on calendar syncing, but use the "Sync selected", but don't select any calendars, it still hangs.

  • Syncing Contacts and Calendar with a Mac/Parallels/Outlook Set Up

I have a MacBook Pro. All of my contacts and my calendar are in Outlook 2007, which I access via Parallels, on which I run Windows 7. (Changing this set up, specifically my reliance on Outlook 2007, is not a viable option for me.) I need to figure out a way to sync my contacts and ideally also my calendar with my new iPhone 4, which syncs with my computer via iTunes on my Mac OS. Any help, or pointers towards relevant articles or posts, would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
    Best,
    Alex
If it's of any help with regards to potential solutions, I am also a subscriber to MobileMe, though I have yet to set up my account.

  • Syncing Contacts and Calendar with 2 PCs

I am trying to make the decision between in iPhone and a WinMo device (HTC Fuze). Right now, there are two points which I need to resolve. One is a physical keyboard. The Fuze wins obviously, but I might reconsider based based on a satisfactory answer to the following second point.
It is critical to me to be able to easily sync Calendar and Contacts between my work PC and my home PC.
For work, I would be syncing Outlook e-mail, calendar and contacts through Exchange with wireless ActiceSync. I do not have iTunes on my work PC and do not care about syncing e-mail.
At home, I have an XP machine with Outlook and iTunes. I realize that I would have to physically connect the device to my home PC.
I have been having difficulty determining from the support forums if I can sync just the Calendar and Contacts between the iPhone and my home PC, with changes reflected both on my home PC and in my work e-mail account (both on the iPhone and in Outlook/Exchange.
I know that I can do this on the Fuze or any other WinMo device. I do not want to have to use any other third-party apps such as Plaxo or Yahoo to do this. I would use MobileMe, but again - the support forums are confusing as to whether this would work. The Apple site indicates that MobileMe will not work with Exchange via ActiceSync, but is not clear whether I could still use it to keep my home PC (which does not use Exchange) synced with my iPhone even though it connects to Exchange via ActiveSync.
Confused yet? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

When acessing an Exchange account via ActiveSync or a MobileMe account with the iPhone's mail client, you can sync contact info and calendar events over the air, or you can sync contact info and calendar events direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process. You can't do both at the same time.
You can sync contact info and calendar events over the air with both accounts at the same time with contact info and calendar events kept seperate - using Exchange for business only and MM for personal.
If you sync contact info and calendar events over the air with your Exchange account, your home PC will be left out of the Exchange sync process unless you access your Exchange account with Outlook on your home PC.

  • Z30 & BB Link not syncing Contacts and Calendar with Outlook 2010

Just loaded Outlook 2010 and went to sync my Z30 with BB Link.
    1st attempt :
Configuration  :  Contacts : 2 way sync : Notify me when there are any conflicts
Calendar : 2 Way sync : Always use device data
    Result :
    No sync with Contacts
    No sync with Calendar
(Also, Contacts disappeared until I restarted device.)
    2nd attempt :
Same config. however no disappearing contacts this time.
Started sync at 6PM and at 8PM the sync appeared to have hung as it did nothing and there was no indication of any activity.
    Result :
No sync & restarted Link and logged in again to try again.
    3rd attempt :
Changed to one way from device to computer
Added Outlook to the files it looks in even though it already says it does that in the config. Section of the contacts.
Result  :  Still no contacts or calendar thought it showed it was doing the transfer.
After each of these I have shut down Outlook in case a restart would show the contacts.
    Running out of ideas here.
