  • I sync my iphone with my mac. I now have a different folder for each pictue. There are hundreds of them. It seems to be fine in iphoto. Anyone else have this?

This just started. I sync my iphone with my mac pro. Then i delete the photo's after they have been transferred. What has just happened is on my iphone it duplicated all my events and put 1 -5 pics in a folder under the same name causing me to now have 50 folders for one event  On the iphoto side it is all good. just on the iphone.

Make sure you have the latest version of iPhoto. Run Software Update.

  • Can I sync my iPhone with a Mac and a PC?

I have many contacts in Outlook on my corp computer, but all my pictures and iTunes on my Mac. Can I sync to both and only synch for Contacts on my PC and the rest on my Mac? If not, then I have to transfer all my Outlook contacts to my Mac Address book, right? Thanks.

Yes you can by not automatically syncing the iPhone with iTunes on each computer when connected and with only sync checked items selected for iTunes preferences on each computer.
Select and deselect the items you wanted synced with iTunes on each computer.

  • Syncing my iPhone with my Mac and MobileMe, leaves 2 Sets of calendars

After I sync my iPhone with MobileMe & my Mac I have 2 identical sets of calendars on my iPhone.
They are named "me.com" and "On my iPhone".
All calendar items are shown twice on the phone.

Deleted the contacts from where?  The device? the computer? both?
Use the backup of the computer to put them back if they have been deleted off the computer.  Once that is done, they can be synced to the iPhone.

The first time I synced my iphone 4 with my mac, I didn't realize that all of my photos from the iphoto library would transfer over to the phone (more than 3,000).   Now, I need to remove some, as they are taking up too much space.  I cannot figure out how to remove them from the phone.  I tried to uncheck boxes and sync again, but I get a message that there is no room on the iphone.  I've read as many articles as I can find, but still cannot manage this.  Thanks for any help.

Open itunes, connect iphone, select what you want, sync

  • I can not sync my iPhone with my Mac Book Pro

Hi, I have an iPhone 4 and a MacBook Pro. I am unable to sync the phone to the mac book. when I plug it in and ask it to sync it asks if I really want to sync, and that I will be replacing everything on my phone with what is on my Mac. This is NOT what I want.
I want to put everything on my phone on to the cloud (?) and onto my MacBook. I have important medschool voice memos that I CANNOT lose.
I registered the phone to another laptop about a year ago if that is any help?
really appreciate it... pulling my hair out!

That may not be what you want, but it's what's going to happen if you sync it to your Mac.  You are trying to sync media to your phone from an iTunes library other than the one it is set up to sync with.
Transfer the data from the computer you have been syncing with to the new one, then set up a new sync relationship.

  • Syncing my iPhone with 2 Macs through MobileMe

I have a Mac Pro at home and go around with a MacBook Pro when traveling or visiting clients.
    I also have a an iPhone 3G.
So far I've been syncing the iPhone exclusively with the Mac Pro. Not only keeps me up-to-date but also serves as back-up. (Not to mention recharging batteries) I would like to do the same with my MacBook Pro when traveling because I store a lot of data in my iPhone and in case of losing it I do not want to become suicidal.
Is it possible to sync an iPhone indistinctively with 2 Macs using MobileMe?
I am not risking of losing some precious data and/or applications?

No. Syncing of data on the iPhone requires one syncing source, either MobileMe or a computer. You cannot sync contacts on your Mac Pro and then with your MacBook Pro. The only way to do that is to sync to MobileMe over the air, and then have both computers sync to MobileMe too.
If you connect your iPhone to a computer that it does not sync to all it will do is launch iTunes. I connected mine to my work Windows computer yesterday for the first time. Normally I connect it to my MacBook Pro but I needed to charge it. iTunes on Windows launched and my iPhone appeared in the devices list, but it did not ask if I wanted to sync with it nor want to erase it.

  • How do I transfer my entire music collection to a new computer and sync my iphone with new mac without deleting existing music in iphone?

    Hi All,
I will describe my current setup and the required setup below. Please help me with the steps to do this
    Current setup:
    OS: Windows 7
Total Music collection: 80GB of mp3 , which is NOT added to itunes library (I use foobar)
iTunes Music collection: around 500 songs, synced to my iphone (unchecked "manually manage" that meeans all these songs are in itunes library)
Now the required setup: (Since I am planning to get a macbook pro)
OS: Mac OS  (This means the music file path will be different)
Total Music collection: 80GB which is to be added to itunes library
iPhone Music: The same 500 songs as before.
Is this possible? In Mac OS I want my entire 80GB to be added to itunes library, also keeping my existing iphone songs intact.
    Any ideas?

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music  then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there.  (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
Longer answers if for any reason you do not think all library files are inside your iTunes folder (changed preferences settings at some point):
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168
2011 ilounge article: Transferring your iTunes library - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive/  - An article with good background information (similar to the links above), particularly if you are not sure your media files are all grouped for quick answer above. Unfortunately under the single term "transferring library" it describes two very different moves; relocating just your media (not  really transferring your library and not recommended unless you really need this configuration), and relocating media+database (really your whole "library").  Make sure you understand the difference before electing to move only media.
Windows users see tip at: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18879381
Consider moving everything from your Windows PC to your Mac in a single move, including your iTunes library: About Windows Migration Assistant - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4796 - Learn about how to use Windows Migration Assistant to migrate your files from a Windows PC to a Mac.
Transferring the library as above will connect your i-device to the same library on the new computer even though it is stored on different hardware. You should not see the "erase & sync" prompt, and syncing will preserve game scores and other data on the device.
As for the 80GB of music in foobar, add that to the iTunes library at some stage by dragging those files to the Automatically Add To  iTunes folder.

It will go through the syncing process but when it finishes nothing is synced.
