Improper device removal caused my itunes to wipe clean of all my files. they are still on my computer but when i tried to tranfer it back, itunes freezes and has continued to do it as i have attempted to do it a few more times. what do i do?

all right, i'm not sure if this is the reason for the trouble i am experiencing, so i will shoot both possibilities out. my music is no longer on my itunes, and now that i am trying to transfer it from the music files on my computer, it freezes once it gets to a certain point (maybe around 320 song while it's verifying the artwork.. which i deleted possibly/accidentally) here are the reasons this may have occured: 1) i am new to transfering files to my external hard drive and improperly removed it from my computer (i know how to, i'm just a screw-up sometimes). 2) after downloading the newer version of itunes (which i did at about the same time of this occuring). can you help? i am an utter eff-up.

In the iPhone view of iTunes on my computer, it shows that my phone recognizes that I had those ringtones, but there is an exclamation mark showing that my phone can't find the files. I can't delete these "placeholders" from my phone with the hopes of re-transfering the files back to the phone, either. I cannot just simply re-transfer the files from my computer back to the phone. It won't let me using the regular synch options and I can't find anything in the menus of iTunes to help me out either.

So I tried to create a apple account in my laptop and i successfully created my apple account. The problem is, when I try to sign my newly created apple account to my ipad it takes me back to billing information (that requires me a credit card which I don't have) and the only checks are visa,Amex and master card. I have already checked the settings of my iPad if I signed in my account to App Store or itunes but then none of it is signed in. My ipad in new and I don't know what is the problem with it. I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for my iMac (Mavericks 10.9.4), downloaded it and have attempted to install it 10 or more times. I have done all the usual maintenance steps (repair permissions, repair disk, etc) and it still won't install. All goes well

All goes well until the installer gets to "Running Package Scripts" then it stalls or hangs up and does not finish the installation. It runs and runs and runs. It never finishes. I wind up having to force quit the installer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Before the upgrade I had around 111 GB capacity with around 10.50 GB available on the Mac HD but now after the upgrade I have 119 GB capacity and 20.92 GB available. Can capacity on the HD change after an OS upgrade?

No, but the upgrade removed unneeded PowerPC code and changed the way free space is determined.

Are these "thousands of files" in an iTunes library that simply cannot be found?
If so, assuming you know exactly where they are, hold the "Option" key while opening iTunes from your dock. You will then be given a "Choose Library" option. Choose it and point to your library.

Accidentally deleted iTunes, is there anyway I can download it again and have it just back up my iPod instead of clearing it of all data? All of iTunes files are still on my computer, but the actual program got deleted.

I was trying to clear space on my C drive and decided to delete programs that I didn't use or that I didn't recognize. (Bad idea, I know that now.) Anyways, accidentally deleted a program that iTunes needed to run and the computer said it would undo the uninstall and restart to fix the problem but when it restarted iTunes was gone. So my question is, after I download iTunes again, is there a way I can just backup my iPod to it's last sync (which was coincidentally right before I accidentally deleted iTunes) instead it being cleared of all its data? All of iTunes' files are still on my computer except the actual program itself.

Thanks for the question. I see you have uninstalled iTunes and want this program back. Start with completely uninstalling iTunes if present and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below. Once this is done, download and install iTunes. If none of your data was modified in the iTunes media folder, then your data should be present upon installation.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied and renamed asiTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Even if you have the media you can use selected steps from the tip to ensure that you don't lose settings and data from the device as a result of switching libraries.
A large number of users with this issue have been using AVG Anti-Virus which appears to be implicated in the problem. AVG have released a patch which might help, so if you use AVG then I would update that first. I'd also be interested to know which AV you use in case others may cause similar issues. I recommend excluding the iTunes folder from any real-time and scheduled AV scanning process. Another possible cause could be automatic backup tools.
