Improper file for Purity Ring - Obedear on iTunes Match

I recently purchased Purity Ring's album Shrines.  Up to this morning I had only listened to the downloaded files on my home computer.  When I came to work today I started to listen to the album through iTunes Match, and was shocked when the song "Obedear" came on and some guy started rapping over the track.  It appears that somehow, someones attempt to become a superstar has become the default on the iTunes Match server instead of the original album track.  I have heard/experienced mix ups of iTunes Match playing uncensored versions of songs instead of censored versions or vice versa, but nothing like this where someone's crappy remix replaced the original file.  I doubt this is the first time though.
Sorry, to create a whole thread just for this one song, but I have not seen any other place to submit this info to Apple.  Hopefully someone at Apple will see this and rectify the problem.
I would think it would be wise for them to setup a service/portal where people can submit potential iTunes Match matching issues like this one.  If they have and I just did not see it, please feel free to point me in the right direction while also telling me I am blind and dumb. I expect nothing less of the internet.

I had this problem too and contacted Apple about it. They essentially gave me some store credit to buy the iTunes version that is correct. If you purchase the version in the iTunes Store (so you have redundant tracks) and then delete the old version and remove it from iCloud, then the correct version (that you just bought off of iTunes) stays and everything is right with iTunes Match.

  • Apple should have a file for stolen iPods that prevents iTune activation.

Apple should have a file for stolen iPods that prevents iTune activation. This would provide at least some deterrent or frustration for the SOB who steals. Mine was stolen: Serial number: 8M9086ZX2C7....just in case someone sees it....Oh and it has my name engraved on the back.

  • ITunes Match Unable To Get Past "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..."

Been trying for days but it just gets to "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..." and then stops and allows me to press the Start button again to start the match process.  Sometimes I get error -3231.
I've called Apple and they want $19 to solve the issue even though I paid the $25 for Match.
I've turned iTunes Match off.  Turned Genius off.  Logged out of my iTunes account.  Quit iTunes.  Restarted. Logged back into iTunes account.  Turn Genius on.  Turn iTunes Match back on and let it go through the process again with no success.
My library has a couple hundred songs less than the 25,000 max but it is pretty large.  Had the same issue when I tried with a smaller library some time ago.  I've created a new library and have the same issue.

    Hi,
You should consider rebooting your internet router
Then try holding option key whilst turning off match. Close iTunes and then reopen. Turn on iTunes Match and select add this computer.

  • Waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results - time out -uk

    Hi,
    Help me please
I seem to be stuck in a loop that after the gathering of information has finished, the info is sent to apple and then I get 'waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results' after about 30 or so seconds I then get an error message
'we could not complete your request, the network timed out, blah blah blah make sure network connection is active'  no error code.
I am a windows 7 user, I have comodo fire wall, nod32 and sky broadband.
I have forwarded the ports 80 and 443, i have turned off comodo and disabled nod32, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled itunes and I am still no further forward.
My internet connection is fine, i can access and download from the itunes store so there should be no issues, genius is on and working and getting results from apple so what is wrong with match?
    Thanks
    Marc

    Marcus_30,
thanks, unfortunately tried almost all of that already...
You must be able to disable the firewall, even just temporarily.
    Did that already, no change
Plug directly into the router and have nothing else running.
no change either if connected via Wifi or cable
I take it that you can connect to the store ok?
yes, iTunes store is working fine - even can download at the same time I am getting the network timeout error
Have you been through the re-installing iTunes motions?
this will be my next step - had hoped to avoid that...

  • Waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results

Out of the blue, iMatch is hung-up on step 1 and displays this in the progress bar
"waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results".  Nothing ever happens after that.  Songs that I have been adding since the beginning are in the cloud and play on all my devices -even thought in itunes it indicated that they are not in the cloud. Anything new I have added to my library appears on my other devices as grayed-out and do not play.  They do play on my PC.
I have a Dell PC with Vista running the latest version of iTunes.
    I have signed in/out
    Turned iMatch (and genious) off/on
    Deauthorized and re-authorized the PC
    restarted iTunes
    restarted the PC.
I have no other issues with this machine.
Support has not been able to help other than claiming it is Apple's fault.
    Thanks, VJ

    I had to restart iTunes.

  • HT4914 Does the music upload limit of 25 000 songs to iCloud is aside of the 6gig limit offered by iCloud for stocking/saving data or is it the same? Will I have to pay for an storage limit update for iCloud because I take iTunes Match?

And will I have to pay for an update storage limit for iCloud because I take iTunes Match?

No, your iCloud storage is seperate. I have 42GB of music in my itunes match account and I still have almost all of the 5GB of storage space free. You only have to pay for itunes match once and as long as you don't have more than 25,000 songs in your itunes, you are good to go.

  • Two Apple IDs one one computer sharing music files and want both to have iTunes match for iPhones

My wife and I share one windows computer. We each have our own iTunes accounts but share the music files.  We want to both use iTunes Match but I can't turn that on on both accounts.  Any thoughts?

You want to use iTunes Match on what devices? As you are aware it is not possible to have iTunes Match enabled for two iTunes Store accounts on the same computer, since any one device can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days. This applies to iOS devices as well as computers.
iTunes Match is designed to be a single-user service that is never signed out. So there are no easy solutions to your situation. If one of you enables iTunes Match on one Apple ID and the other re-downloads anything from your purchase history or has an automatic download happen that will initiate an Apple ID re-association for the device and will lock out the other account for 90 days.
On iOS devices, it can only be signed into one Apple ID every 90 days for same reason. At this time you've really only got a couple of solutions: Abandon one iTunes Store Apple ID and only use one for all devices; or, purchase a new computer and have separate iTunes Match accounts.

  • How can I add audio files manually to my iphone when iTunes match is turned on?

I use iTunes match, and after resolving the debacle after updating to iOS 6 listed here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19623582#19623582 it seems to be working fine. My problem is as follows:
I have a series of audio files (lecture recordings) that have been uploaded to iTunes match (and so appear on my phone), but of which I also still have the actual files on my computer harddrive. These specific files will neither stream nor download from iTunes match on my phone (and did not before the update to iOS6 either). They play fine, however, on iTunes on my computer. Before the update I was able to get around this problem by manually dragging the files from my computer harddrive to the connected iPhone within iTunes. I no longer have the option of doing this - any attempted dragging of files onto the iPhone results in them simply 'bouncing back.' This is true not just of these files, but also of all other music files, including those which are listed in iTunes as being 'ineligible' for iTunes Match, and so are not represented on the iPhone at all.
    Thank you for any help!

iTune Match is now considered a streaming service, with the optional download option. You cannot use iTunes to transfer songs anymore and need to use it exclusively on the device.
You also cannot download single files anymore, only albums and artist is supported.
The only workaround I've found was to click the cloud button for the album, and cancel all songs I don't want before they download.

  • Is there way to sync mp3 files that won't upload to iTunes Match?

Let me briefly explain. I subscribe to iTunes Match. This works great except that there are a few large mp3 files (i.e., lectures) that won't upload to iTunes Match. I need to get those files on my iPhone or iPad. With iTunes Match on, all the uploaded music is synced but not those files. With iTunes Match off, I can easily add those files. How can I get these files to sync to the device and still use iTunes Match for all the rest of my music?

You can only remove them in iTunes on the computer.

  • How to share ring tone using iTunes Match

I bought my wife a ring tone on my phone, thinking that it would go to our cloud and be available to my wife, but I have found difficulties finding it on my wife's iPhone. What gives?

After careful assessment it appears that there are no improved methods for reliable sharing of Song data with iTunes Match beyond the basic method identified in this thread.
Investigation by beaTunes reached the following conclusion:
Even if beaTunes updated those privileged fields - I don't think that guarantees that all other fields are also synced.
Sounds to me like iTunes Match is fundamentally flawed :-("
It would be very helpful if Apple would allow users of iTunes Match and 3rd party developers to signal when Song data has been updates such that iTunes Match can ensure Songs across the (up to) 10 devices are synchronised.
Until such time, only adding Songs with iTunes Match off, updating Song data as needed prior to switching iTunes Match on seems the pragmatic route forward.  For Songs otherwise imported they need to be removed and re-added in this style to yield consistent Song data.

  • HT5085 Will apple loseless songs files be compatible and readable with iTunes match?

To keep best cd quality of my cd, I have uploaded all my songs in apple loseless on my computer
I would like to know if it would then be compatible and readable for those loseless songs files using iTunes matches on my iPad?
    Thank you

It will be compatible in that iTunes Match will look at your computers Apple Lossless versions, and will then send AAC 256Kbps versions to your iPad. It will not send Apple Lossless copies to your iPad (or even another computer). AAC 256Kbps versions are fine for an iPad and Apple Lossless versions would very rapidly completely fill an iPad.

  • Connect 2 iPhones with 2 different apple ids to the macbook for updates and backup through iTunes match and iCloud. How can i make that happen?

We have a mac book pro and 2 i phones 4S. We both have different Apple Id's. But we would like to connect both phones to the mac book in order to update photos and itunes match. I subscribed with my apple id to itunes match and it automatically updates apps, music, books etc. However the apple id of my husbands phone is not recognized so his music, apps etc are not automatically updated. The same happens with icloud.
How can we make the mac book recognize both phones?

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered
    Go here > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
Manage your Apple ID and see if that does the trick
    Hope that helps

  • Waiting for Apple to deliver my iTunes match results

It seems to day I'm waiting all day over and over for my iTunes Match reslts... is there a status page somewere?

    I had to restart iTunes.

  • To upload music files to iCloud, must I purchase iTunes Match, or can I upload it to my original 5GB?

I've not yet used my iCloud (as I can't upload LibreOffice files to it), but was wanting to clear up space on the Macbook by uploading my music files to it. Do I need to purchase iTunes Match to do this, or will my original 5GB be enough? Thanks in advance.

Without iTunes match you can download previously purchased items whenever you want, they are not stored in iCloud, they are local. With iTunes Match you can download practically everything that is in iTunes, Match files are stored in the cloud but are not part of the storage (5G) in iCloud. You can delete iTunes Match files from the local machine and they will still be available to play.
This would be exactly the same if you did not have iCloud, they are not connected.
