Improvements in View Loupe Info

It strikes me strange that the top first lines of the view info will be abbreviated with "..." in the middle, especially when using something like "Common Photo Settings" and only the 3rd line will show the entire information. However, despite the vast free space, it will be broken up in two line often.
I like to have the information, but I wish that I could better format its content and have the option to "opt out" the "..." ellipsis. We have vast amount of free space atop of the image, even with the top panel made invisible and we do not need to squeeze the data with ellipses or breakup a line in two to show exposure time, aperture and ISO in one line.

Even now in LR3 the same issue persists, so I would like to recall my suggestion to remove the "..." ellipsis from the image info, and not to breakout the bottom line in two. We have all the wide screens and a lot of free space atop.
Would you consider to allow user to specify his/her own info line with the "%C" type of place holders, where 'C' is one character code for the real data.
For example "%F at %d, %C" would mean (I am just making up an arbitrary example using a long gone brand):
     File0333.type at 2010-03-23 12:23, Contax F4, 1/100s F3.5 75mm
%n might stand for "new line." This way everybody could define his/her own info string and be happy.
Less code in Lightroom, no elaborate menus to select the items, and... more power to the user!

  • Missing Loupe View File Info

I use the File Info feature a lot in Loupe View. However recently it does not show despite selecting it in the View>Loupe Info Menu. Control+I also fails to work. It happened before recent upgrade so do not link it with that software change.
In the past I occasionally had to reset the viewing option to reinstate visibility, for no apparent reason. Has anyone had a similar problem and found a permanent cure? Thank you.

Hal, thank you. Yes, I have tried all known short cuts. I forgot to mention I am using Windows 7 OS.
Strangely, I have just been into Develop module and the data is presented as normal there. Very odd!

  • Make Edit time and Edit count info available in Loupe Info, grid view option, Edit History panel and Smart Collection

We all know that Lightroom can sort images in grid view by edit time or edit count. I cannot find any way to display edit time and/or edit count in view option or loupe info. I think these should be made viewable. Without them, when you have a large batch of image and you previously edited only some and come back later to finish, you don't know which ones need more work, etc.
Another useful thing is that Edit History should have an option to show the date/time of the edit. It may be shown when mouse is hovered over an edit item line.
Similarly, smart folder can filter the images by Edit Time being before/after a certain date. However, if I have no way of knowing what the edit times and counts are, this feature has little use.
Alll of the above should be a specific date like 08-20-2009 or Today, yesterday, 43 days ago, etc. Both forms are useful for different purposes.

    Good idea.
Also, it would be good if the SDK functions for updating custom metadata did not necessarily bump the edit time.

  • Loupe info cutting off name

Minor annoyance, but it's been there ever since V1, and I hope there's a simple way to change it......
In loupe view of the library (or in develop), the loupe info overlay cuts off the filename. If I'm going through a bunch of images it's annoying to not see the whole filename. A filename like
    DP_080421_8765_swan_overhead_edit.psd
    is chopped off at
    DP_080421_8765_swan_overhead....
Is there a way for ME to change the amount of text that can be displayed or the font or SOMETHING or is this another "design decision" that'll have to wait?

Ok, apparently the problem was not fixed by resetting the ipod. But I did figure out some interesting things about the problem.
What I realized is that not only may a song be cut short, it may be lengthened also. I opened up itunes and quickly scanned through the songs looking at the song lengths according to itunes. I realized that a few of the song lengths were way off. For example the song "Scar Tissue" by the Chili Peppers was 23:08 instead of 3:37 like it should be. I knew that 23:08 wasnt just a random number though, it was the exact length of another song on my ipod "A change of seasons" by Dream Theater. I then checked the other songs which had the wrong song lengths. They also had song lengths exactly the same as other songs on my ipod. (ex. "Lifestyle" by Joe Satriani was 16:57 rather than 4:34, the exact length of "When the water breaks" by Liquid Tension Experiment)
So somehow I think that the ipod or itunes is swapping song lengths between songs.
In itunes, I can click on the songs which display the wrong times, and it automatically corrects the time, and plays normally. However, when I try to play those songs on the ipod, it screws up.
I know this doesnt fix the problem, but maybe this info wouuld lead to a solution.. I dont know.

  • Why doesn't the "View image info" show how many frames are in animated gifs?

When I right click on an image, then click "View Image Info" it used to show how many frames were included in an animated gif. This stopped working in Firefox 4. Why is that?

I'm not too sure what I did but it works now.

  • How can I view page info without right-clicking?

Hi, I've recently updated to Firefox 4.0.1, and with the "tools" menu gone, I can't find out how to view page info anymore without right-clicking. This can be a problem for sites in which right-click is disabled. I have also tried ctrl+I, but this only opens the bookmarks menu. Is there a way of viewing page info in the new Firefox without right-clicking?

  • Only able to view entered info. on PDF form when I preview it?

I was almost finished completing a 127 page form and when I went to open it today I was unable to view all of the information I have entered.  The info. is no doubt there because I can view everything I've entered when I preview it but once I open the document completely I can't view anything, even if I click on the box.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think that's the problem because I just reloaded the original form and typed in a few entries and was able to view my info.  I just submitted another question as I think the problem may be that the file has a lock icon but I have no idea how I locked it.  Below is my entry.  Any help would be appreciated!
PDF form has lock icon and I'm unable to view my information entered

I've been working on a 127 page pdf form for a couple of weeks and have saved all of my information multiple times.  I recently opened the document to complete the form(I literally had 2 entries left) and I am unable to view any of the information I've entered.  The information is no doubt still there because the original form is 7mb, and my saved form is 7.26mb.  I am also able to see all of my information when I preview the document by opening the my documents window and clicking once to preview the form in the same window, however can not see any of my information when I attempt to edit it and open the form completely.  I am using a PC, windows 7.  I'm assuming I can't view my info. because I somehow locked it but I am not asked for a password when I open it.  I recently downloaded the original form again and typed in info. and there is no lock icon when I save it under a different name and I'm able to view the info. entered.  I have no idea how I locked the form or if this is the reason I can't view the info. when I open the documetn completely.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  • TS2529 I would like to view the info that I have backed up eg my contacts before I reset my iPhone.

I would like to know how I can view the info that I have backed up eg. my contacts, before I reset my iPhone.

You can restore your iPad with your iPhone backup but items that are iPhone only will not transfer.  It should recreate all your folders.  It can't hurt anything to try.

  • Seeing camera profile in Loupe Info

I would like to be able to see camera profile in Loupe Info.  This would help me choose between versions of a photo that have different profiles applied.
I have not been able to find any indication that this is possible in LR 4.  I am still using LR 3.6.
Beyond that, it would be nice to be able to select any information to see in Loupe Info and not be restricted to the fixed list of items currently available.

you better ask for that feature here:

  • How can I access "View Page Info" in firefox 7 or whatever the newest version is?

The new setup is real cool and all, but I can't find like half of the stuff I could in the new small drop down menu. I use the "view page info" button quote a bit but cannot seem to find it in this new layout. Where is it?

Click on the Site Identity Button (icon on the left end of the URL/Location/Address Bar), then click "More Information".

  • What do the bars in "View Satellite Info" mean

    Just an idle question.
When you select "View Satellite Info" in the Maps or GPS apps, you get a number of bars showing you the current signal states of the satellites from which a signal is being received.
These bars can be outlined or solid. What is the difference?
I understand GPS and its principles. I am assuming that the outlined bars means that the machine is receiving a signal from that satellite, and that the solid bars mean that the machine is actively using those satellites for the time calculation and trigonometry. But this is only my guess...
The manual (shocking manual BTW Nokia) doesn't explain - which is **bleep**. It says you can "view satellite info", but doesn't explain how to interpret the results, not even a sentence overview, which is worse than useless because it's infuriating.
Therefore guesswork is the order of the day. Anyone got any ideas?
    Great phone though, delighted.

    Cheers.
I also did a bit of reading about GPS after posting this, and there's a great explanation of what's meant by "getting a lock" here:
