  • LD-3W new version with improved battery life. Myth...

I am looking to get an LD-3W and searching the net for what is available I find one or two UK vendors are offering what they describe as "New version with improved battery life".
One showed a picture of an LD3W box with a small V2 printed on it in the same font style as the rest of the product text. Is there such a thing as a version 2 with improved battery life?
    6120c (3uk) and 6300 (Orange), LD-3W

    Hi knockknock
Latest user guides still describe battery as BL-5C but I notice my box has Euro1 under Nokia LD-3W.
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

  • Any tips on how to improve battery life on new macbook pro?

Any tips on how to improve battery life on new macbook pro?

It all depends on how much you plan to run on battery power. If you don't use it often, set yourself a reminder to let it run unplugged about every couple of weeks to aboout a 40% charge and then plug it up and let it charge back to 100%. If you'r'e a frequent battery user (like me) don't let your MBP discharge to the point where you're running on reserve power - down to about 30 minutes remaining and then charge it back in.
I have over 130 cycles on my computer and I've just had it since March. Even though my battery health was 102.2% when I got my MBP, it's still at 98.8% health and I'm still getting 7+ hours out of my battery. To get the longest use when under battery, keep your activities to low-CPU intensive apps (browser, email client, word processor, etc.) - Internet surfing alone, and not watching a lot of online videos, will give you mor ebang for the buck. You can also check your battery health in 'real time' by using "Battery Health" - free from the App Store and you can make sure that you're running on integrated graphics, which uses less power, by downloading Cody Krieger's exceptional gfxCardStatus.
Keep your screen brightness down to about four ticks and your keyboard backlighting to one tick - should work fine.
    Good battery health to you,
    Clinton

  • Removing apps from multitask bar improves battery life!

I was loosing more than 5% per hor with the phone unused. I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 and the battery life improved a bit, but no by much. Then I killed all the processes running in the background in the multitask bar and oila, my iPhone 4S has a much better battery life. It seems to drain ay 1-2% per hour now. Actually I just left my phone on all night, without charging, and in 10 hours it has only lost 3%. There can be a LOT of these backgrounded procs since they restart after a reboot of the phone and thus build up over time. I had about 30-40 when I 1rst checked. It doesn't seem stop the functioning if apps  like the timer. I tested the timer, i.e., I set it, killed the background proc on the multitask bar, and it still was counting down the original time set, thus I really don't know what deleteing the apps from the muultitask bar does, it doesn't seem to really kill the process, but deleting them really changes my battery ussage drasitaclly, for the better. If this is the problem it could account for the differences in users for each user will have a different set of background processes running. Anyway try it and see if it works. Mileage varies with ... blah blah.

Songs and apps stored in the iPhone have zero to insignificant effect on battery life.  The User Guide is here.

  • Improve battery life on 10.8.2

After showing much patience with Mountain Lion I've had enough of waiting for a fix for the poor battery life issue.  Yesterday I decided to take matters into my own hands and investiate the issue myself.  I installed the 250Gb hard drive (Hitachi 5400rpm) that was supplied with my 13" Macbook Pro 7,1 (Mid 2010 - you know, the one with the 10 hour battery life ) and performed a Clean install of Mountain Lion, then patched to 10.8.2.  At this point I installed a smart battery monitor, and took notes on the power drain from the battery sitting at idle.  Notes pasted below, not that these are definative proof of what is causing excessive power draw however and are merely notes of what I have tried so far.  Goal was to get the power draw as low as possible when sitting at idle.
Kill Dashboard: Open Terminal.app, Type in: defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES;killall Dock - Hit Enter.
Install ClicktoPlugin and ClicktoFlash Safari Extensions
Turn Off Hibernation. sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
    Install Glimmerblocker
Set noatime flag - sudo mount -vuwo noatime /
    Disable Java in Safari
    Switch to Chrome
Sign out from iCloud Power consumption drops from 15.4w to 8.91w. All NIC's where disabled
re enable bluetooth and plug in eth0 power consumption rises to 10.11w
Sign in to iCloud - 16.01W. Turn all sync off - 14.63w.
Enable Find My Mac - 14.5W.
    Enable Safari - 14.3W
    Enable Contacts - 14.92W
    Disable iCloud.
Shutdown macbook - remove Super Drive
Startup - all NIC's and external devices disabled.
Idle power consumption with Notes,Activity Monitor and Smart Battery Monitor only 6.7W - Baseline
    eth0 enabled - 7.6W
Bluetooth enabled for trackpad - 9.01W
    External USB Keyboard connected - 9.1 W
    Sign Back into iCloud - 14.62 W
Signed into iCloud but idle (after a few minutes) - 9W
Enable location Services and Find my Mac - 13.37 W
    Consumption at idle now 9W
disable all NIC's, remove USB Keyboard and disable bluetooth - 7.15W
So you can see that I managed to get the draw from battery as low as 6.7W.  iCloud and removing the super drive appear to have made the biggest difference so far, but it is inconsistent.  What other steps do you recommend to try next?

There's already a thread discussing the battery issue here.  Have a read...probably starting backwards since it's quite long.  A completely clean install of Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (not an upgrade, patch or combo udpate) has resolved the issue for many folks.  My MacBook Air was suffering severe battery drain after upgrading to ML 10.8 as well.  Performing a fresh install of 10.8.2 corrected it.
My advice would be to wipe the hard drive and perform a fresh installation.  Everything you need to know can be found here:
How to Clean Install OS X Mountain Lion
It's also advisable to do a manual restore...re-download apps, drag other files in from backups, etc. rather than using a full Time Machine restore or Migration Assistant.  That will ensure that if there was a problem it won't migrate back and you'll have a pristine installation.
Hope that helps and best of luck!

  • How to improve battery life of 4S?

In the last few months my IPhone 4S battery depletes quickly. It used to last at least 2 or 3 days. Now I must charge daily. Even if it has 25% left and I turn it off, it will be depleted when I turn it back on. I try to close apps, but it doesn't seem to matter. Also have iCloud turned off. Help!

  • Charger switch improves battery life

I have an Iphone 4S, 32 gig and I have been watching this for a while. With the new charger that came with iphone 4s, the phone uses more battery comparing when fully charged with my old Iphone 4 charger.
For example: ( On Wifi) 18 min of watching Youtube videos, making 2 phone calls 6-7 min each, checking emails, and actively using the internet for more than 50 minutes would use more than 20% battery when the phone has been fully charged with the new charger. When charged with an old charger, going through the same activity, only uses 5%.
Give it a shot for yourself and report here if you see any changes.

You might also find that charging from a PC's USB port will give better battery life. A slower charge is a better quality charge and will therefore last longer.

  • Improve battery life, help phone from freezing and improve speed, and general health of the phone.

Make sure you are force closing your applicaitions on a regular basis. Since the phone has multi-tasking your apps and anything you open on your phone is constantly running in the background untill you go in and force close them. This slows the phone down and causes the battery life to deplete greatly. Going in and force closing the apps on regular basis helps alot.
You can do this by going to the home screen and double tap the home button, tap and hold on the first application that pops up untill it starts to shake, then press all the red circles that come up, that is how you force close the apps.
This works on iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

"Since the phone has multi-tasking your apps and anything you open on your phone is constantly running in the background untill you go in and force close them. "
Not true.  Very few apps run in the background and those that do are managed by the iphones software.
"You can do this by going to the home screen and double tap the home button, tap and hold on the first application that pops up untill it starts to shake, then press all the red circles that come up, that is how you force close the apps.
All of those apps are not open.  Most are not.  This is the recently used apps bar.  These apps have simply been used recently, they are not open as a rule.

  • Suggestion for improving battery life with Reminders in iOS5 on iPhone 4

I am experimenting with a location-based reminder, and once again the Location icon is permanently on and my battery is being drained. I'm not a programmer but I have a couple ideas:
Use the accelerometer in the phone to determine if it's moving, and then start looking for location.
Most people, when they're at work, are at work for several hours, so there's no benefit to polling for location while you're sitting at your desk. Perhaps the phone could learn your routine and know not to look for location between say, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Or you could have a setting to explicitly tell it not to poll during the week between certain hours.
This would make Reminders more useful. Also is there better battery management for this stuff on the 4S? Is that another benefit?
    Thanks!

    Welcome To Lenovo Community
We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing,
Fully charge battery, then unplug & restart the system and Enter BIOS setup. (Press F2 key at Lenovo screen.) , Let laptop sit until it shuts off, and note how long it runs.
Or you may also try Battery Gauge Reset
Open the Lenovo energy management, and where you have the options for Optimize for battery health or battery run time, at the bottom it says
    Battery Gauge Reset
    Start.
click it and do the on screen instructions.
Do give this a try and let us know
    Hope This Helps
    Cheers!!!
