Ims 5.2 autoreply "activation delay" ??

Hi,
when a user activate his autoreply function, when does the iMS server take this in account ? there seems to be some delay between the time the user sets his autoreply (saying "start immediately", by setting a date on yesterday for example) ,
and the time the messaging server "acknowledges" it and starts sending out autoreplies.
i haven't been able to find out "what" triggers the server to consider these settings.
one suggested the dirsync process (but it doesnt look like it), in that case, what will happen when i switch to "direct LDAP mode" ?
The lack of documentation about this is quite annoying, as currently, we have to tell our users : "It will be activated somewhere very (or not) soon...", further aggravated as we have written some small managment interface for the autoreply (For user who don't have access to Messenger Express) where they actually could set the start hour (nice feature, but as messaging server has a mind of it's own...)

what will happen when i switch to "direct LDAP mode" ?
Nothing, I am using direct LDAP and I have noticed the same behavior, there is also a delay for password changes to take effect.

  • Activation delay????

    Hello, I have ordered a new Iphone and am awaiting it to be delivered.
    I am a current AT&T customer. In reading the Apple website, it tells me that If I decide to use my existing number with my new Iphone, activation may be delayed several days.
    Are they joking? Are they telling me I may be without my only phone and uncallable for a few days??
    Or will my old phone still work until my Iphone is fully activated?
    Has anyone experienced this delay when electing to use their existing AT&T number?
    Message was edited by: stanleywinthrop

    So far the only time I have seen a delay is when people are porting a number over.
    Typically though many activate a phone and can send and receive call within minutes. But the article is correct. Depending on how big of a plan change is being made you might see a delay in certain services.
    But I would say your in the clear for now. If you got a basic account. I am on a Family Plan, Added my iPhone and upgraded my current cell from a $10 phone a month to $40 because I chose to have a $20 unlimited data and $20 unlimited SMS And did not have to wait long at all for things to kick into gear.
    Good luck let us know how it goes

  • Unexplained activation delay and frustration thank...

    I'm moving house on 6th August so made arrangements to change my line to my new address and in addition add a broadband connection. This was ordered nearly 2 weeks ago and was told that activation would take place on 5th August. Everything seemed to be fine until today when I received a voicemail message from BT telling me that there was going to be a delay in the activation and that I would be contacted again on 19th August.
    I rang BT and asked them to shed some light on why there was a delay. I was first told that there wasn't a delay; that everything was on track for the order to be completed and connection established on 5th August. So I then asked why I had received the message in first place, and was just told 'I don't know, it must have been a mistake.' When I then asked the member of staff if she could therefore guarentee that it would fine for the 5th Aug, she wouldn't commit and so I asked her to check with the suppliers department who left the message. 10 minutes later the member of staff returned and told me that there was already a broadband provider supplying the address and that I would have to get the code to allow BT to connect me. I know for certain that there is no supply to that address - I checked before I even rang BT to order the service - and said as much to the woman on the call. She then rang the suppliers department again (for another 5 minutes) and then returned and said 'It might be the 5th'. I asked her again for a conclusive answer and she could not provide me with one, and could not provide me with a reason for why it might not be the 5th.  I like to keep a record of customer service calls I make so I asked for the operatives name, and she was very reluctant to give it to me, something else I found frustrating. So I'm absolutely nowhere with getting an answer out of BT and frustrated with the very unhelpful nature of a 45 minute (in total) phone call.
    I need an answer on this ASAP - being internet-less until the 19th would be a major hassle and I would have to seriously consider cancelling my order and going with another company, especially considering the customer service I received today. I just hope that the dire level of care received today isn't indicative of the general level provided by BT - I would hope that I was just unlucky, but reading some of the posts on the forum doesn't really instill confidence...
    Would appreciate any suggestions of where to go next to get a resolution to this issue. Cheers!

  • Activation Delays on iphone 5

    Just wanted to let all those who ordered new iphone5s through Verizon know that you may not be able to activate the phone when it arrives.   I ordered a new iphone5 and was very excited to start using it.  However, after following the activation instructions, guess what - unable to activate call Verizon support.  After about 30 minutes with tech support, I was told that it would be at least 24 hours until the phone could be activated.  When I asked about the delay, I was told that they were having problems with the iphone5 activations.   So, as a word of warning, if you order the iphone5, and are very excited to start using it (as most of us are) when it finally arrives, you may just have to let it sit idle for at least a day while Verizon tries to figure out how to activate it.

    You're right. Last Saturday I purchased the phone using my non-smartphone line. I had to wait until Sunday to remove the iPhone from that line because Verizon servers were down (due to Hurricane Sandy). Sunday morning I finally removed the phone but when I tried to activate on my unlimited data line it would not work. Finally the next day at around 10:30 am I was able to activate the phone on my line. So I think it was 24 hours after I had removed it from my non-smartphone line.

  • BT Broadband Activation Delayed

    I am so dissapointed after waiting for nearly 2 weeks for my broadband unlimited to get activated tomorrow the 16/04/2013 i receive a text today saying:-
    "BT Here - Sorry, we need to delay your broadband connection. We will contact you on the 18/04 with further updates about your broadband connection."
    What is going on?
    So i login to check 'Mybt' and my order is no-longer showing and cannot be found even if i search by the order reference number.
    I have already received my BTHUB last week and i booked this in with a MAC Code from my previous provider so what happens now?
    So i attempt to call bt today and after speaking 2 four different advisors and on the phone for 30 minutes i was told i have to wait for the call back from the engineers on the 18/04 as the text stated and they could not provide me with any information or reason for my broadband delay
    This is extremely poor customer service and being advised by sms of a delay with no specific information.
    Does anyone know what is happening here?
    Please Help

  • Pick Activity delaying WS response causing timeout error

    Hi,
    In my BPEL process, I am invoking a Webservice through partnerlink. After the invoke activity i am assigning some message to the output variable. It is working fine.
    Now, i want to display a custom message on WS response time out. In order to achieve this, I added a *'Pick Activity' after the 'Invoke Activity'*. Now, the same WS response is timing out at around 45 sec. So, If I add a timer of 30 sec, it shows my custom message of request timed out and if i change the timer time out to 1 min, then it shows system error message, as below
    <Faulthttp://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/>
    <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
    <faultstring>com.oracle.bpel.client.delivery.ReceiveTimeOutException: Waiting for response has timed out. The conversation id is d992ed601d021346:666c57cb:129822499b8:-7f8e. Please check the process instance for detail.</faultstring>
    </Fault>
    So, I am not able to understand that why Webservice response is timing out on adding pick activity after invoking webservice.
    Below is the code snippet.
    <invoke name="Invoke_MathResultWS"
    partnerLink="MathResultWS"
    portType="ns1:MathResultWS" operation="division"
    inputVariable="Invoke_MathResultWS_division_InputVariable"
    outputVariable="Invoke_MathResultWS_division_OutputVariable"/>
    <pick name="Pick_1">

    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:Pooja_MathBPEL2ProcessResponse/client:Result"/>
    </copy>

    part="parameters"
    query="/ns2:divisionResponseElement/ns2:result/ns2:messg"/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:Pooja_MathBPEL2ProcessResponse/client:Message"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    </onMessage>
    <onAlarm for="'PT1M'">
    <assign name="Assign_TimeOut">

    <from expression='"WebService Response TimeOut"'/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:Pooja_MathBPEL2ProcessResponse/client:Message"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from expression='number("0")'/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:Pooja_MathBPEL2ProcessResponse/client:Result"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    </onAlarm>
    </pick>
    </sequence>
    </otherwise>
    </switch>
    </sequence>
    Note: I am working on SOA 10g

    Hi Shanmu,
    I couldn't understand what you mean by saying "Pick activity would add an additional operation to the BPEL wsdl and to proceed further, that operation would need to receive data."
    As far as I understand the use of pick activity, it has a onMessage branch which contains the code for receiving a reply and a onAlarm branch which contains the code for a timeout. So, I think it can be used to check webservice response time out if the ws doesn't return response in some specified duration of time.
    Moreover, can you pls elaborate on how can I catch the remoteFault, coz in exception handling, what i have tried so far is throwing a custom exception from a scope when some condition is not met and catching it. So, it would be helpful if you can refer me a link to some example on catching a remoteFault.

  • Pan/Zoom - activation delay on iPad Content Viewer

    I am able to create an image/frame and turn on PAN & ZOOM in the Interactive Overlays panel.
    However, when I preview it on my iPad...it is difficult to activate the pan/zoom interactivity:
    It seems I have to tap the image once, then wait about 4-5 seconds, then I can pan/zoom by pinching, ad then, to "reset" it, I have to double tap.
    Is this the correct process? It seems confusing and counterintuitive? Am I doing something incorrectly in InDesign/Content Viewer, etc?

    That is the behaviour of the pan and zoom overlay. The only part that is odd is the 4-5 second delay after the tap. How many pixels in each dimension is the content you have inside the overlay? If it is very large it will take a long time to load.

  • IMS 52 default autoreply message

    Hi everybody,
    I was wonderring how to implement a default autoreply (or vacation) message for a domain.
    The documentation states that autoreply options should be
    written in the autoreply_option file but there's no such a variable available for this functionality.
    My problem is to have the Mail Server send a defaut message (whatever the language) if a user checked the autoreply (vacation) option but didn't fill the message.
    Thanks for any answer,
    Regards,
    Vincent MAZARD
    DML France

    Vacation reply is designed to only send a reply to a message where the "to" actually equals the mail address of the recipient. If you use the aliases file to change that, you won't get responses. If you use rewrite rules to change addresses, you won't get vacation replies.
    If you get one response, that sender won't get another response for a week. ..

  • No service - activation delay

    Can anyone suggest how to get action out of BT. My previous broadband has been disconnected on the first planned activation date (presumably instructed by BT) - but now I'm told there is a problem with activating the BT service and the next time I can expect an update (note no promise of a resolution) is in SIX days. So appalled and regretting my decision to join BT. Have tried the live chat people but they can only give me this info and advise me to call some order desk in the morning. Any advice or suggestions? Frankly I find it unbelievably bad

  • LR5 Histogram slider activation delay

    In LR5 when I go to use one of the 5 zone adjustment areas in the Develop module histogram, there is a 2 - 2.5 second delay before I can use them for each image. The individual sliders below, e.g., exposure, contrast, etc, don't exhibit the delay.
    This is not the case with LR4.4... and it is a cause of frustration for me due to the slowdown in my wedding workflow. I'm on a Mac Quad Core, 12 GB, SSD, etc, so I'm not sure what the problem is, as I said there's no problem with 4.4. I searched but did not see this problem listed. Also, LR 5.2RC does not fix the problem.

    Any update on this by any chance?
    I am having the same issue and it is frustrating when you have to adjust 500 images froma  wedding...

  • Activation delayed

    Hi,
    I got my new 3GS this morning . After backing up my 2G, I plugged my 3GS in to iTunes and began the activation / sync process. I received a notification that activation may take up to 48 hrs. Not unexpected. Notification mentioned that I would receive an email when activation was complete. I was then given the opportunity to continue with syncing, which went flawlessly. Enjoying the features available that do not require AT&T service. Now for the question, does the phone need to be connected to iTunes to complete activation or have I done everything I need to do to receive service when I am notified by email that activation is complete?
    TIA

    The notification messages are generated by the "return" job, that's normally scheduled to run nightly. If you're not receiving/sending these, you will need to check that that return job is in fact getting run.Adding to Jay's comment, I set up the same configuration you are using and the notifications of Delayed email were working fine:

  • Ims-ms queue

    Hi im using Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-5.02 (built Oct 12 2007; 32bit)
    libimta.so 6.3-5.02 (built 17:05:22, Oct 12 2007; 32bit)
    My email service accidently have problem cant send email internal and receive email from outside but can sent to outside. Funny right.
    im tired to think what are problem i have, lastly i check on ims-ms queue and show like
    Queued Queued
    Channel Messages = Active + Delayed Size (Mb)
    process 161 0 0 15.0
    Why this problem happen. ? Can somebody solved this ?

    If messages are being accepted and placed in the ims-ms channel queue, then you need to investigate what happens to them next. Are they being tried and failing and put back in the queue for later retry? Or are they not being tried at all? or...
    The mail.log_current log should be the first place to look for that sort of thing - even without enabling any debugs. Just make sure you have the "logging" option on defaults channel in imta.cnf. If you change that, be sure to do imsimta cnbuild; and imsimta restart.
    Also, in imsimta qm, you can do the "directory" command and then use "history <n>" where <n> is a number of a message displayed by the directory listing. That will show what has happened with delivery attempts so far. eg:
    # sbin/imsimta qm
    qm.maint> dir
    Wed, 05 Jan 2011 09:20:21 -0500 (EST)
    Data gathered from the queue directory tree
    Channel: ims-ms                   Size Queued since
        1 ZZh0g1f0Yh7f0.00               1  05 Jan 2011 09:20:12
    Total size:                          1
    Grand total size:                    1
    qm.maint> history 1
    Message id: 1
    Filename: /opt/sun/comms/messaging64/data/queue/ims-ms/000/ZZh0g1f0Yh7f0.00
    Transport layer information:
    Envelope From: address: [email protected]
    Envelope To: addresses: stu2%xxx.edu@ims-ms-daemon
    Message delivery history:
    No history information available
    qm.maint>Note that in this case, the message has never been tried. This is indicated by the fact that there is no history but also by the fact that the queue file name begins with "ZZ".
    If the messages are never being tried, then I wonder if job_controller is still running? Or if it is unable to start ims_master processes for some reason.
