my firefox can't open the activation email i got for activating my itunes store account. i tried all things to get it work but nothing helped.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

Localhost problems, firefox cant open localhost addresses?

I really got sick of Chrome's data robbery. Nowadays, I switched back to FF and I cannot believe to this problem. FF cannot open local weblogic domain after restart. I have to restart FF, then everything fine. It repeats for my every weblogic restart.
WebLogic address --> http://localhost:7001/console/
Tried this, but still no access --> http://localhost:7001/console/login/LoginForm.jsp
When I tried on Chrome and IE, everything is fine, and the console is accessible.
Another problem is, FF adds www and .com extensions to the local addresses, I've fixed this by manual configuration on about:config. By the way, this was also a nightmare and primitive.

As I said before, when I restart the FF, everything is fine. No proxy, no any custom network configuration. I'm using FF as default installation except "www.com" configuration.

Hi, Cor-el. The problem isn't setting my default email client --- the problem is that when I click on a "mailto:" link in a web page, any web page, while I'm using the firefox browser, "nothing happens" ....gmail is my default email client and when I click a mailto: link using explorer or any other browser, things work as they should and my gmail opens for me. This only became a problem with firefox when I downloaded version 7 (whatever) not too log ago. Downloading the latest version has not solved the problem.
Any other help would be very much appreciated.

I'm afraid you'll have to use some kind of action listener; that's how jsf commandLink and commandButtons are design to work
OR
you could achieve your goal by writing a servlet mapped to the url . capture your request parameters and do the activation in your servlet.

It is there in ISTORE workflow alert.
I need to modify the hyperlink.
Can any one suggest me ,how to go ahead.
One of my colleague suggested to write a PLSQL function, to create a variable for that link.

Use Firefox to open email links on GMail

I am running Firefox on Windows 7.
I want to open mailto: links from different applications in Firefox.
I have followed the instructions on the support page :

If I am on a web page, and I click on a mailto:xxxx link Gmail opens: great !
But if I am in another application (like an ERP application) and I click on a mailto:xxxx link then Outlook opens.
When I go to Default Programs => Associate a file type or a protocol to a program, for the MAILTO protocol there is only Outlook defined and I can not find a way to define another program for that protocol: any idea ?

Sorry, I don't need this addon: it doesn't solve my problem.
I can follow mailto links within Firefox, I want mailto links from an application to lauch Firefox.
At the moment, I have only Outlook as a possible choice in the window: Default Programs => Associate a file type or a protocol !
I have tried changing the registry settings with info gathered from several web page ... with no results.
Any ideas ?

Whats the deal with version after version of new firefox and you guys have still not fixed the problem with clicking on email links and nothing happens.

Adware is not a virus. It's simply annoying and intrusive. Virus software is not going to help you stop this new plague on computer users.
Whenever you download an installer it could be wrapped with adware. Check carefully when installing. You have to uncheck to not install the extensions that are added.

Cant open pdf from links?

When on the web if I click on a link to a pdf all I get is a 'page cant open' error. I can left click and save the target to my desktop then open it.
I have the same issue locally, I have several pdf's in a single folder, I created an excelsheet in the same folder and then created a link from the excel to a pdf.
The link did not work, just a screen flash and nothing happened.
Using windows7, Acrobat7and latest Norton.
I am sure I jsut need to adjust a setting somewhere, perhaps in Adobe or Norton.
By simply double click on a pdf it opens with no issues, it is just just trying tp open a pdf from a link that does not work.
Any advise?

Which browser?
I sometimes get this.
Check to make sure that the server you are downloading pdf from is serving it as an application/pdf. Otherwise it may be corrupt.
Try in a different browser, if it doesn't work, best bet is that it is to do with a plugin issue. You may need to restart.

Can I set Firefox to open a page link in the same window (not a new tab) so I can just go back to the page instead of having to close the window?

When I am on some pages, clicking on a article/picture link opens a new tab instead of continuing in the same window. By staying in the same window, I can back click on my mouse and continue on with other reading/links on the original page without manually having to move the mouse and click to close the tab. For example: on news pages, if I click on a financial article, a new tab opens with that linked article on the website's financial site. If I keep going back to the original page w/o closing tabs, I end up with too many tabs open.

yeah, instead of using multiple windows, you can use multiple tabs inside one window. That way, you can browse multiple websites at once without having to flick back and forth between multiple windows.
To open tabs of the websites you want to browse, just right-hand click on whatever website you want to visit (For example a site from your bookmarks or a site from a Google search result) and select 'open link in tab'.
