Leechblock-like product for Safari that supports scheduling?
Is there a Leechblock-like product for Safari out there that will support advance scheduling? (Freedom doesn't.) Alternatively, would it mess anything up if I uninstalled Safari entirely? I only use it to circumvent Leechblock anyway.
Apparently there is one solution. You can install the extension "WastNoTime". It is as good as Leechblock.
For that you have to go to Safari preferences and turn on extensions. You can then download and install the extension from this link: http://bumblebeesystems.dyndns.org/wastenotime/ or you can browse https://extensions.apple.com/ and find it under productivity category.
I am happy that this extension is finally out. I was almost moving to Firefox.
Good luck -
For some reason my itunes and safari are gone any way to get the back, iphone4
For some reason my i tunes app and safari are gone on my iphone4, is there anyway to get them back? thanks
Impossible for any of the included apps to be deleted from the iPhone, which includes the iTunes app and Safari.
Settings > General > Restrictions.
If Restrictions is enabled, is Safari and iTunes turned on as a restriction? If so, turn these off. -
1Password version 2 browser button fix for Safari 5
Duplicate your 1Password 2 app (control click > Duplicate). It will make a copy called
"1Password copy.app"
Download 3.2.1, mount the .dmg, open the app with finder (Show Package Contents),
Contents > Extensions > WebKitExtension.Bundle.
Control click > copy to copy the WebKitExtension.Bundle app.
Open with finder the 1Password copy.app (Show Package Contents), Contents > Extensions >
WebKitExtension.Bundle
Replace (paste) the WebKitExtension.Bundle app with the 3.2.1 version.
Use the modified 1Password copy.app to reinstall the browser extensions. Close after extension
installation.
(note: using the modified copy will cause a nag screen to be displayed every time you open Safari 5)
Reopen your regular 1Password app and Safari 5 should work (without the nag screen).
Works fine on Snow Leopard - did not test on Leopard.Hi Bee:
This is for 1Password 2 Version 2.12.1 (build 7671), not for 1Password 3 Version 3.2.1.
(for those who have not upgraded yet).
I don't know if agile will ever offer a Safari 5.0 fix for 2.12.1 or not.
There are a lot of folks like me who own a multiple (family) license for 1Password Version 2.
Some of the older machines will never see Snow Leopard and aside from Safari 5, all current
browsers are still supported by 1Password 2.
I would probably upgrade, but truly, in my case, 1Password 3 has no new features that I really
want. I don't run Safari in 64 bit mode. It doesn't run any faster or better that I can tell (in 64 bit
mode), and it breaks the 32 bit plugins in 64 bit mode. Besides, Safari is tolerable (sometimes),
but it sure isn't my favorite Browser.
I am a basic person too, fancy prancy stuff just irritates me, I like 1Password 2's interface a lot
better. They should offer different skins for version 3, make everyone happy.
If Agile would support even one of my 2 favorite Browsers (Seamonkey and Opera), I would
probably upgrade, but instead I am forced to use Safari (ho-hum) or Firefox (Yuk!). -
Website www.bludot.com is not showing the proper BG image/video on all browsers (Safari, Chrome and all IE versions) but not on Firefox. The code is right, but FF is still pulling old images. The correct image/HTML5 video should be a cake, as displayed on all other browsers.
Firefox 9 is being withheld for Mac users due to unresolved crashing problems.
A test case would be nice and the URL for the website in question, so someone here can experience that problem first hand.
Or, try posting at the Web Development / Standards Evangelism forum at MozillaZine. The helpers over there are more knowledgeable about web page development issues with Firefox. <br />

I have been working on the website stsontario.org a while ago for someone. I have used a javascript file to apply a background element with a specified height based on the height of the document after loading the page. It shows on the other four browsers but does not show on Mozilla.
Both my javascripts are external files imported near the end of the body tag.
In order to debug the code I made an attempt to put document.write("hi"); at the top of my file and even found this does not show on the page. Why does my javascript code not work on Mozilla! :'(You need to change any \ in a <s>path</s> <u>URL</u> to / to work in Firefox. Firefox encodes the \ character instead of flipping it to / like other browsers. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Some websites I visit using safari are still using mobile mode
Some websites im visiting are still using mobile mode instead of the normal website layout... ***** I thought all websites will be like normal just like browsing In net books
I don't believe so. The iPad's OS is the iPhone's OS. Safari on the iPhone is detected a mobile browser, so the same must apply to Safari on the iPad. The iPad is not a netbook.
If a website includes a full and mobile version, the website will be directed to the mobile version when using a mobile version of a browser. Most websites that include a full and mobile version also include an option to select the full version, which should be saved as a cookie when returning to the website. -
I have tried doing it through OS but to no avail for it does not have the Hindi language in its list. But the older version of Mozilla did supported the Hindi language websites (and that was the only reason i used Mozilla.) .This version does not supports that version(
Firefox 4.0.1).Many thanks b Noir
This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.
Sorry, just this minute went to insert image and it is giving me a message saying this sort of content is not allowed?.
The most recent key I altered is in: HKey _local _machine. System\class - 4D36E965-E325-11CEBFC1-08002BE10318. Upper Filter data: Upper filter NTIDrvr SiRem GEARAspiWDN.
The GEARsoftware info about manually deleting GEAR drive is from:

I hope you can help -
I can't right click anywhere in the browser without the browser freezing for at least 3-5 seconds.
I disabled all the add-ons.
I reset firefox.
issue is still there.Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
See:

I recently update from Leopard to Lion but I see that Internet Explorer is not working because PowerPc is not longer supported...I work for an Engineering Company that uses Idocs as document management and uses Internet Explorer for accessing and linking Docs by Default ,,,Chrome, Firefox and Safary don´t work with Idocs..
Please advice..I believe you would need to install a copy of Windows using Boot Camp and then use IE in that OS. There is no current OSX compatibility with IE that I know of.

my firefox is 29.0.1.
someone comes and delete my firefox history and i lose them very easily.at least i want a rule to save all my history and no one except my not delete the history.
could you please help me?Can you password protect your computer so no one but you can use Windows? And perhaps encrypt your hard drive so it can't be used from a bootable CD or DVD? If not, I think it will be very difficult to ensure the safety of any file on the system from erasure or modification.

I'm receiving a message when I open Safari that says my version is no longer supported(5.1.10) & I need to disable some browser extension. In Safari Extensions there are no extensions. What should I do? Thanks for your help.
I now use the TenFourFox browser on our remaining PowerPC Macs including a G4 PowerBook. Web sites see it as a newer version of FireFox tha and G4 can support and you get much better compatibility. Wikipedia info/history here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TenFourFox
The TenFourFox official site and download is here:
http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Downside: the last version of TFF that supports plug-ins was V17 so current versions won't play Flash animations. Even when TFF played Flash, the old G-series Mac processors were struggling with modern web video content, so you are not losing much.
If you must have smooth-playing web video, you'll need a new computer, as very little web video content is optimized for our PowerPC processors on old Macs. -
TOC troubles – Chrome and Safari
RH X5
Windws XP and Vista
I am uploading RH X5 html help files to a Drupal based website. Unfortunately, users viewing the Help project through Chrome and Safari are not seeing the TOC. I found forum feedback regarding this same problem in the WebHelp blog. Is that applicable to the html .js files as well? If not, can someone tell me what edits I need to make to what files? (the eHlpDhtm.js maybe ??).
Thank you!
CindyChrome is not officially supported by an version of RoboHelp but Adobe did issue a fix with RoboHelp 7 when Chrome was first released. I am not surprised X5 outputs do not work as that version was issued way ahead of Chrome being released.
Safari is supported and I would guess your problem is that you are browsing with versions of Safari issue long after X5.
No fixes that I have seen apart from upgrading and noting that Chrome would still not be supported. You would need to check with the trial version. Do not install that on your production machine that has X5 installed.
