In 21 century, Skype is still written in Delphi
It's 2014 year now. Skype is owned by Microsoft.
Desktop client is still written in Delphi.
It's a shame!
Such a great corporation could not find strong will and resources to throw out that Delphi garbage of 90s. And finally write a new client using that shining technologies MS has. And I mean the solid desktop client and not that metro/modern UI.
Please stop making people work with that outdated stuff
Well it seems the only information that is outdated here is your knowledge about Delphi and RadStudio.
I suggest you take a look at http://www.embarcadero.com and update your information on what an amazing and featureful Delphi has been all these years and still are one of the most modern rapid developing products. I use Delphi, C# and Java on daily bases as system architect and developer and I believe those who like you make a religion of a "single" product just reveille their limited capability of developing "shining" application using the most suitable product.

Thank youTry to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder. -
Skype number still not working
I am have been subscribing to a Skype number, but when I call it an automated female voice answers the number despite that I have been trying to reset it by switching Skype privacy settings. When I call from Skype to my phone a caller id number that I don't know shows on my phone.

Theft of phone and skype account still being used!...
Hi.
My wifes phone was stolen on th 19th of April during a camping trip.
We reported the theft to the police.
I have gone onto skype today, and the account is still being used.
My wife said the only two places skype is installed is on her stolen phone and on her laptop, which isn't on at the moment as she is at work!!
So whoever stole the phone is using the skype account right now!!!
I need to find out the IP addresses that have been logged against the user [Redacted for privacy] since the 19th of April.
I have tried to email support, but the contact form keeps giving an error, so please someone respond as soon as possible so I can relay info to the police please!!

Sign out all other instances except the current one. This will also stop push notifications on all other instances.

Lists other instances where this Skype name is currently signed in.
Important: Always make sure you are using the latest version of Skype. Some of these commands may not be supported in older versions.

If your wife still has access to her account, she should consider signing on to her account details and removing any saved payment methods on file.
Skype does not release IP addresses except upon request from law enforcement agencies, who can file to receive this information via official channels.

Skype History Still Showing Up Despite Choosing 'N...
This has been going on for several months now, and I've finally gotten to the point where I'm wanting a fix.
I've set up my Skype so that it won't log any of my conversations by going into Privacy settings and changing it to "No History". Once upon a time this used to work, and it somewhat still does, but not completely. Parts of conversations I've had with people still show up in my History. It'll be bits and pieces from various conversations, and only what they have said, never what I say.
I have tried uninstalling skype multiple times (using programs that'll completely remove it), going into the settings and resaving my choice, yet despite what I try my history is still being saved and showing up in logs despite me choosing for it NOT to be. The only way I can wipe it clean is to choose the "Clear History" option each and every time I'm done with my skype session, which not only gets annoying but wipes my saved/favorited groups and recent contacts.

Hello. I've had a skype subscription for years now. In the far past I did not see any ads, however a little over a year ago I started seeing advertisements. I've been in contact with Skype support multiple times and I have always been told that this is a bug and it will be fixed next patch. I've updated multiple times and even got the new update with the new design. I still see advertisements.
From what I know this shouldn't be happening if I have a subscription. Can you please offer some solution for this problem? I see advertisements on the home screen and on top of my chat windows.Are you using the same account you used to sign in here on the Skype Community to sign in to your Skype account? You can verify that by using the "Sign out" link from the menu "Skype" in Skype for Windows desktop. This will take you back to the sign in page and you can ensure there that you are signin in with the correct account that has the subscription active.
If you still see advertisements as a next steps we would need Skype logs from your instance so our engineers can have a look what's going wrong in your case.

Why are the most popular online games still written in Flash?
Hi all,
I am not a Java expert, but I notice that at http://www.miniclip.com and similar sites, most of the popular games are written in Flash. Why is this? Is it because of Flash's IDE? Or is there some other reason?
If it is an IDE issue: Is there any Java IDE that makes basic Java game development as easy as basic Flash game development (drag-and-drop simple)?

Jasonpopular doesnt mean quality. flash games generally suck IMO
not to mention flash is easy as hell. any 14 year old with Limewire can manage to make half-decent flash movies with very basic ActionScript.
even a few pro-made Flash games suck.. you can only do so much with vector-based graphics >_> (and let's not forget how SLOOOW the Flash interpreter is..)
java requires actual programming knowledge - far beyond ActionScript's syntax. thus there are less people willing to put forth the effort really. -
Deleted Skype account still appearing online to contacts
I went through the process of having my account deleted a few days ago, I can of course no longer log into the account, however contacts of that account are saying that I am now appearing constantly online but set as away.
I'm sure I deleted all personal information from my account, though I know I didn’t delete any contacts. I have spoke with Skype staff via the instant chat box but they are never of much help, they have said that my account will delete itself from my previous contacts contact lists, I thought this wasn’t true?
Has anyone else deleted their account and had this problem? Did you find you started appearing offline once that deletion was completed (takes 30s days)? Thank you!Please show your support for this improvement idea for Skype for Windows desktop here:

Have a subscription but Skype is still using my cr...
I bought MS Office last month including the 60 minute a month subscription plan. I already had some Skype credit and the idea was to keep using that when I am abroad in countries not covered by my subscription. However I just made a call within the UK and Skype has taken money from my credits but not touched the subscription minutes. How can I make Skype use the minutes? This way it seems it will use up all my credit before it starts eating into my subscription which is no good.

Why the video calls under the Skype are still not fixed in the last update?
I am deeply dissapointed with the last update to the operating system of my new (2013) MacBook Air. The video calls didn't work, but I have followed one of the remedy on the net and made it working. After the update the problem returned. This problem is known for couple of months and the Apple doesn't care. Why ??? Can you please inform me and everybody else when you fix it, untill then I would not update OS. Thank you.

Problem connecting Axis client to a Service written in Delphi
I'm using Axis client to use a web service already running in Delphi. I have used WSDL2JAVA tool to get the complex types required by the service parameters. But when I try to invoke the service it fails saying "Access violation at address 052DC9E1 in module 'ri.dll'."
Has anyone out here tried accessing a service written in non-Java platform through a client written in Java?It now gives me the following error : "org.xml.sax.SAXException: SimpleDeserializer encountered a child element, which is NOT expected, in something it was trying to deserialize."

I am having trouble with my skype and Microsoft ac...
I signed in with MS account. I tried to change my registered mail in profile settings, it aked my password. I tried using MS account password and it said wrong password. I forgot my skype password and i tried to recover it in another browser but it took me to MS account password resetting page, I changed the password. But again when I tried to change my registered mail in profile settings same thing happened showing password is wrong. And I also forgot my Skype name because I always use skype with MS account, when I tried to recover it, it is taking me again to MS passwod resseting page. So how can I change my primary e-mail address?
I am having the exact same issue. I am unable to login using Skype username and password, but it lets me sign in with microsoft account. Once I am signed in and trying to change profile settings (new email address), it asks me for my Skype password ("for security purposes") and it keeps saying I am not entering the correct password, then locks me out temporarily. If I choose "Forgot Password", it takes me to a prompt to change my microsoft account password. When I change, Skype account still does not recognize. Please help!

Skype Click to Call for Firefox 7 Installation Nig...

Hi Guys:
I would like to start by telling you that I'm newbie to this community as not a Skype fan user and haven't used the application since its June version 5.3. I didn't upgrade my Firefox browser on its due time either as rather use Internet Explorer most of the time. All these three are installed on a Windows XP Home SP3 system.
Due to some IE7 settings misconfiguration early this week, I decided to use FF6 again while restoring IE to defaults, which means that plugins and toolbars are disabled or uninstalled in the process. After reinstalation and updating Adobe Flash, Java, etc.. noticed that the Skype Toolbar was definetively lost (uninstalled) to IE.
FF Add-ons Manager was showing the Skype Plugin (still version 5.3) as disabled, not compatible and with no updates available. I then proceeded to upgrade FF to NB7 recently released 27-09, and then applied latest update 7.0.1 released 29-09, but no change to the Skype Plugin upon clicking on update all add-ons and plugins.
BTW, release notes for this FF update 7.0.1 states: "Fixed a rare issue where some users could find one or more of their add-ons hidden after a Firefox update"... making me more confused and to look deeper into FF support, but with no success. I also tried FF Add-on Compatibility Reporter to no avail.
Therefore, it was time to go to Skype and as I usually first learn about latest changes, opened on (blogs.skype.com/garage/windows/) first, to find that there were two releases (an update to V5.5.119 (which I did) and an upgrade to a new build 5.6) on the same date (29-09) of FF's update to fix "hidden add-ons" - what a coincidence to add confusion -.
In both versions' release notes you can read that changes include: "Updated Skype Click to Call browser plugins and the addition of support for Firefox 7"... but no further explanation. Sorry guys but it was at that moment when I learned about that "Click to Call" name (formerly known as Skype Web Toolbars) which totally different from what I was searching for, making me do some more clicks to search and understand the difference between the installers provided.
I believe (and suggest) that if in that blogpost 29-09 in respect of the 5.5 update, the poster (Raul Liive) would have included a link to the Click to Call support page, it would have been a lot more easier for Firefox users to update their Skype installation, even though, it is not true that Click to Call "is automatically installed in Mozilla Firefox" as suggested in that support page. It only installs in Internet Explorer. In order to also install it in Firefox and/or Chrome, you must download its installer from that page.
At least this was my experience which could be taken as a quick reference - Installation Troubleshooting Guide (Provided "AS IS" and subject to Mods' approval):
- Opened Skype 5.3 and clicked on the Updater to get version 5.5.119 installed.
- Opened IE7 and verified that new Click to Call 5.6.0.8312 was present in my toolbar.
- Opened FF7 and verified that old Skype Plugin 5.3 did not changed. Tried to update it again from within the application with no results.
- Opened Control Panel > Add or remove programs, and verified Skype 5.5.119 correctly shown, but Click to Call was not. There it was still showing "Skype Toolbars 5.3.7280".
- Closed all applications and proceded to remove Skype Toolbars from Control Panel.
- Restarted the system and opened CP, IE and FF to verify Skype Toolbars successfully removed.
- Optionally - ran CCleaner.
- Downloaded Click to Call Installer and ran it to install it in both, IE and FF, which done successfully.
- Opened CP to verify it was then showed correctly as "Skype Click to Call 5.6.0.8312".
- Opened FF to verify it now shows the plugin correctly as above with no imcompatibility
warnings. Made a test call successfully. Did same from IE.
*Notice: Please note that there is actually only one Click to Call installer (v5.6.0.8312) available at Skype.com, no matter what Skype (supported) version or browser (support for IE, FF and/or Chrome only) you are using. Also notice that when you open your browser for the first time after installing CtoC, a new Skype advertising tag will be opened... Don't worry, it will do it just once. A second advertising window will be opened after your Skype app opens when you make a call from your browser... at least it happened on my first test call and don't know if same for further calls (free account).

Change:
Lets you change the way features are installed (and on what browser are to be installed).
Repair:
Repairs errors in the most recent installation by fixing missing and corrupt files, shortcuts and registry entries.
Remove:
Removes Click to Call from your computer.
