Try the free Art Text 2 Lite in the Mac App Store. There is also a paid, fuller version, but try the lite one first.

It is the orientation lock. To de-activate, double click the home button and scroll to the left until you see the same lock within a circle. Tap it to turn off the lock

Sounds like that phone was unlocked by hacking or jailbreaking , maybe the reason why you are unable to restore your phone.
what does the error message say.

I am using Pages and want to insert text on a line of a form. I have not been able to find a way to keep the line from extending as I add the text. Any suggestions?

Use inline textboxes for the form fields.

In pages, when I make a table, the lines print very faintly. Any ideas?

Hello.
You can choose the size of your border in Pages or Numbers.
To do that, you have to select your table.
After that, click on inspector.
You must have the cell borders option, set here the border width.
That's all !

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, follow the Core Duo instructions, and if desired, open the Mac App Store, and try downloading 10.9. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

The audio book on my nano only emits a quick, tin-like sound beginning with the 77th chapter. Any ideas?

I have been listening to a four volume audio book on my nano. At the 76/77th chapter, the narration stops and all I hear is a faint, rapid beat-like sound. This happens on all subsequent chapters. (The first 76 chapters continue to work just fine.) This had never happened before, and I've listened to a ton of books.
I restored the nano to the original factory settings and synced the book to my nano again. Same problem.
The book plays just fine on my computer, so I don't think it's corrupted.
One other bit of information. About 3 months ago, I dropped the nano and cracked the glass a bit. I covered the cracks with some clear packing tape, and it has continued to work just fine--until now.
My software is up to date--version 1.2. Mine is an 8 GB nano, the little square version. It's about a year old and is formatted to my Mac.
Any ideas?

The error happens as soon as I place the symbol. The symbol is there and the properties are all accessible, but will not run.
I enclose word doc with error messages on.

I can no longer print off a web page (eg Flight booking confirmation). Other printer functions are OK. Any ideas?

My printer will no longer print off web-pages, either from the tool bar command or from the "print page" command. This has only just happened and seeems to have followed a MS up-date, but can't be sure.
Can anyone suggest a fix?
All other printer functions work OK.

My printer is HP Photosmart C4650 Series. I can print from everything but the Web. I don't get an error message or anything it just will not print.
I'm using Windows 7, it had been doing fine than it just decided to quit printing from the web.

I developed my web site and published it with myserver. However only the first page shows up, no other pages, and the links to the other pages are missing on the welcome page. The host tells me that it is a software problem, that the pages are on the server. Pleae advise?

You could have determined the presence of the pages by typing the pagenames in the URL.
The second option was to connect to the server and see with your own eyes what is there.
And since you do not use a Sitename in the URL, I assume you uploaded the files yourself instead of letting iWeb do the honours.
Regarding the Photo page, I do not see any photos on the page. Yet they are on the server too :

If you did put the files on the server yourself, verify that you did upload every single file iWeb creates.
Edit : since the directories are open, you may want to consider closing them. Ask your webhoster to do it for you.

My applications like safari or email closes while in use, any idea why

When using my iPad the application closes, when i relaunch it stay up but then closed by itself.

Have you tried shutting down iPad or resetting it? That frequently fixes problems.

Why is Entourage opening my Pages docs and how do I fix it?

I have a program called Entourage. Lately whenever I click on a Pages document to open it, Entourage launches and tries to open the Pages doc as an email attachment. I'd love it if when I clicked on a Pages document, Pages actually opened it and Entoruage would mind its own business.
Any ideas?
