In-address bar progress indicator

Where is the in-address bar progress indicator..............
I cant find that in safari 4.
Or this feature has been abandoned??

Hi There
This feature has been removed in the Safari 4 Beta, you can revert to the previous behaviour. The details on how to do this are here: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20090225065338303
If you would like to see this feature kept within Safari, send feedback by using the report bugs to Apple button on the far right screen below.
Hope this helps

  • How do I shut off the new colored progress bar under the address bar?

In Firefox 7, there is now a small colored "progress bar" under the address url that loads with colored segmentation as a web page loads. While some might consider it helpful, I consider it both distracting and obnoxious. Can someone tell me how to disable this "feature" in about:config? I want to keep the colored granularixation of address sections, but there is no need for that to load as a colored every time a page loads. If I wanted rainbows in my browser, I'd create a Lucky Charms theme. I don't need this, thanks.

I wish this was the case. This is a default action of Firefox 7, not a plugin. While I do want to replace the status bar one day, I have not used StatusBar4Ever to replace the late, lamented status bar as of yet. Unfortunately, this action is tied directly to the new colored segmentated address bar code. In version 5 and 6, he code was "unfinished" (or not fully implemented; take your pick), and as a result this thing never appeared. But in 7, the Firefox term prodly declaimed the feature "functional" and lo and behold, this problem arises! I do appreciate the suggestion, however.

How long will the progress indicator spin before safe mode progress bar shows up?

Not a good sign,  your HD is failing or has serious block problems. It might be possible to reformate the drive and start over.
or something more agressive to do the repair, like Disk Warrior http://www.alsoft.com/diskwarrior/
You need a backup plan in place here.

  • The tab count indicator obscures parts of the address bar

On Froyo it looked fine but with ICS it flickers and obscures the right hand side of the address bar eg the stop button when a pages loads.

Hi, no it doesn't (attached screen shot). It's like this on any page. I also encounter it before installing plugins so I don't think it's caused by one interring. The device is a WX435 (Motorola Triumph), Android 4.0.4, ARMv7 rev2, kernel 2.6.32.59. I'm using Firefox Beta, but I tried last night with Aurora and it has the same problem for me.

  • How do I move the Home button between Back Forward and address bar?

The way I have my firefox set up for years is to put the buttons like this:
    [Back][Forward][Stop/Reload][Home][Progress Animation][Address Bar]
Now in FF29 I'm trying to move the Home button between the BackForward buttons and the address bar and it won't let me.
I thought FF29 was supposed to be the most customizable Firefox yet? *confused*
Is there a way to do this, am I missing something? Thanks

''' "I thought FF29 was supposed to be the most customizable Firefox yet?" ''' <br />
Whoever told you that was incorrect, as far as I am concerned. Firefox still is more customizable that the "competition", but not as much as previous versions were.
The Home button can be moved, but the Back / Forward combo button is attached to the Address Bar - they can't be separated.
The combo Stop / Reload button is locked in the Address Bar.<br />
The old "Activity Indicator" is gone. Deemed unnecessary with the loading animation on the left corner of each tab, where the Favicon appears once the page is fully loaded.

Many users are installing the Classic Theme Restorer extension. <br />
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ <br />But I don't think that is going to turn out to be along term solution. As users start installing other extensions I think they are going to run into compatibility issues where the new extension "expects" the user to be using what Firefox came with - not the "retro" features.

  • Cannot remove autocomplete entry from address bar; have already cleared history, and entry is not in the drop-down menu of the address bar either.

I am having problems removing an autocomplete entry from my address bar; I have tried clearing my history, so it's no longer in that, and I do not have it bookmarked either, so it's not getting the URL from that location either. The autocomplete entry isn't even showing up in the drop down menu, so I can't even scroll through that to delete it.
Basically, I want to be able to type "st" and go to "store.steampowered.com"; however, despite numerous times of typing in "st" and then going down into the drop-down menu to choose "store.steampowered.com", the bar continues to autocomplete "steamtrades.com", which is exceptionally annoying because I do not have that website bookmarked, or in my history, yet it continues to autocomplete to that address, which I do not want it to autocomplete to, and cannot figure out how to remove because I've already cleared my history multiple times, do not have it bookmarked, and it is not showing up in the drop down of the address bar for me to go down and force delete it.

Did you try to remove some letters from steamtrades.com to see if that bring this entry up in the drop-down list?
If it is not in the history then it might be present with a typed=1 flag indicating that you have typed or pasted it in the location bar.
You can use the SQLite Manager extension in Firefox to inspect the places.sqlite file to see if this entry comes up in the moz_places table.
    *SQLite Manager: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/sqlite-manager/

  • How to use progress indicator which block the user for editing ?

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where i need to show a round progress bar while processing to the database. For example :- I have a bounded taskflow and inside it I have a two jspx page called as "First.jspx" and "Second.jspx".And i have two textboxes and one "Save" button on first.jspx page.
Now when user puts the values in the textboxes and hits the "Save" button , my ticker or progress indicator should say "Please wait while processing" and as soon as the transaction is complete , i need to show another page which is "Second.jspx" page. "Save" button action has method inside a managed bean which has some functionality and then it executes the VO(View Object) and commits the data.
How should i implement the indicator?
I have read this article :- http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/42-progressbarcolor-169184.pdf but it doesn't fit to my requirement.I need indicator which holds the user to edit anything on the page.Like what we get when we do any transaction in banks while navigating to payment gateway.
    Please suggest!!!
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Issue regarding Progress Indicator on table row selection

    Hi Team,
I have overridden onSelectionListener on a table. On click of any record in the table I am performing some operation which takes few seconds to execute. Hi John,
Thanks for your quick reply. I tried using af|statusIndicator component. But this doesnt disable the components on the page while the server is busy.
Is there any way to disable the page/make the page read only when the processing is happening ?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Table cell progress indicator

I see in the JavaFX 2.2 API that there is a table cell implementation for rendering a progress bar. However, it appears that this only supports the progress indicator that takes an incremental update value (as a double, presumably a value between 0 and 1?) to adjust the "progress" in the indicator. There does not appear to be any support for an indeterminate progress indicator that can be embedded in a table cell.
I am asking because I have a situation where there will be a background task that will be launched potentially for any row in a table. The task may take some time to execute and complete and I would like to show an indeterminate progress indicator that will "spin" until the task completes. I wanted to be able to include this as a cell (column) for each row so that individual rows could indicate whether they were currently "working" or done.
Is there, or will there be in the near future, support for this type of functionality? Or, are there suggestions on a way to cobble together something that can do this?

Copy and paste the ProgressBarTableCell code and search and replace ProgressBar with ProgressIndicator on it.
    http://hg.openjdk.java.net/openjfx/8/master/rt/file/tip/javafx-ui-controls/src/javafx/scene/control/cell/ProgressBarTableCell.java
Here's a minor update to the great example James put together which does this.
Seems to work fine. Only issue I see when running it on a recent jdk8 version is that the indeterminate progress indicator is a bit too big, then the whole indicator shrinks a little bit once the indicator switches to reporting percentage progress. I didn't investigate that any further, likely it's a minor styling bug in the new JavaFX modena style sheet for Java 8 which you could work around by applying your own style to indeterminate progress indicators.

    Hi,
I'm not sure there is anything you can do about the flashing clock icon in this case.  This may just be a limitation of the GUI.
Of course, you always have the option of using 0% as the percentage when calling SAPGUI_PROGRESS_INDICATOR.  This will eliminate the clock from the progress display, leaving just the percentage number plus the '%' sign.
In other words, you can eliminate the annoying flickering by changing your function call to:
      CALL FUNCTION 'SAPGUI_PROGRESS_INDICATOR'
        EXPORTING
          percentage = 0
          text       = a.

  • An unwanted JPG image of handwashing came into my address bar?

I had not been looking for anything to do with health or handwashing. It was as if I had asked a question about preventing the flu??. I had just finished reapplying for California lifeline service on my telephone and had done it online. I then went back to my Web mail page & sent a message to Zoom panel whom I have done surveys for sev. years about why I hadn't been getting any surveys lately. I had just bfinished this when on my address bar a new address?? came up "1402.jpg(JPG IMAGE,425x338 pixels). When I clicked on it--itwas a picture of someone washing their hands vigorously--like in a medical illustration!. This had nothing to do with anything I had done all day??!! I tried to get rid of it--but to no avail.

If this image is open in a tab, you should be able to close it the way you close other tabs (for example, Ctrl+w).
If this image now appears on one of your toolbars, there are a couple possible ways that might occur:
    (1) Is it a bookmarked site? If so, you can right-click the icon and choose Delete from the menu.
    (2) Is it an add-on button? You can check whether you have any unrecognized or unneeded extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any progress in eliminating the unwanted image?

    Hi,
I want to draw a Progress Indicator (fixed progress bar) in my own module pool screen. (It will be a little graphic, that will represent total percentage of the work that has been done till date.)
I tried to take reference from the existing programs:
    GFW_PROG_PIE
    GFW_DEMO_PRES1
    GFW_PROG_BAR
    DEMO_GFW_PRES_SHOW u2026
-but these programs can draw only charts (pie, bar etc).

    Hi,
you can use Function Module SAPGUI_PROGRESS_INDICATOR.

  • How do I track doc download progress using jQuery UI progress indicator?

How do I track document download progress using jQuery UI progress indicator?
I'm looking at downloading a zip file in response to the onclick event in a jQuery button. I'd like to show the download progress on the page.
I'm working with users who may not be Web savvy and need to know something is happening. Also, they may be on lower bandwidth connnections, so even a small zip file could take time to download.

    Darn it, another senior moment.

  • Safari won't display any URLs in the address bar. When I type it in, it'll keep what I typed in, but never change no matter how many links I click.

This makes it really hard to refresh pages. I might be on google, looking something up, hit refresh, and my URL is still showing "facebook.com" or whatever site I was on previously, then I get taken back to the site I had in my URL. When I click around on links on the page I'm on, it'll still just show the url to the first page I viewed. Also, the URL isn't auto-completing as I type in URLs.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, monitor, and Ethernet, if applicable. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account that has the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, perhaps including wireless networking on certain Macs. If you usually connect to the Internet via WiFi, and it doesn’t work in safe mode, connect using an Ethernet cable. If you can’t do that, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and perform a safe login, as follows: Enter your credentials at the login screen, then hold down the shift key and click the “Log in” button. Keep holding the key until the menu bar appears. In this mode, your login items, among other things, won’t load.
In safe mode, test again. Same problem(s) now?
