In Adobe Story, my 'links' are suddenly missing

When I logged on to my PC I saw that mauch of my work was in the 'synch issues' area. Once I went through and reassigned each one I noticed my Links heading showed 0. I had over 35 their culled from last 3 years of research.

Suddenly I am losing my previous sessions. Also quicktime links are suddenly not working. I updated flash. I downloaded some Windows Updates. Now these browser issues.

All of a sudden this week I am losing my old sessions. As I usually have about 20 tabs open in 4 separate windows, this is VERY annoying. VERY.
Also, quicktime links are no longer working, like at apple.com/trailers. I get an "Error: 47 Invalid Url: ()" message when trying to use them.
My only recent computer changes were updating Flash, and also on June 15th I got a bunch of updates from Windows Updates. Mostly security updates, and a .NET Framework update.
My feeling is this has something to do with the windows updates?
I use Vista Home Premium.

I was able to duplicate this issue on my Windows 7 laptop as follows:
     1) Completely uninstall FlashPlayer (using your tool) as well as Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance Service (used Windows 7 - uninstall from Control Panel). Please note that I checked the box that said "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" to ensure that Firefox was completely gone from my laptop.
     2) I then went out to the Firefox website and downloaded the "Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe" app to my laptop. I ran this app to install Firefox.
     3) I then went to the following website http://www.ishmael.org.uk/karaoke02.php as I know that this URL uses Flash Player (obviously you can go to any URL that uses Flash Player - I'm just letting you know which one I used). I then clicked on the icon on this page to install Flash Player.
Once the install was completed, the URL stops responding and appears to be locked up (although it will occassionally hiccup and display portions of the page and then lock up again). You will eventually get a pop-up notice from Firefox that has the header "Warning: Unresponsive script" and says the following:
     A script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to to see of the script will complete. Script: chrome://browser/content/browser.js:6551
Selecting "Stop script" will get Firefox working until you hit another page that uses Flash Player.
To ensure that the above URL is not the culprit, I used one from your website http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html and had the same results.

Hi,
We posted an update to the adobe story application just few hours back.
This update is targetted towards fixing the blank screen issue that was reported on the forum and for which we posted a workaround here. Update contains few more minor fixes.
For those who were facing blank screen error with adobe story air application are requested to uninstall the application manually and then reinstall the latest application from https://story.adobe.com.
For those who were facing blank screen error with adobe story web application (browser) are requested to check back on https://story.adobe.com. Blank screen should not appear.
Let us know if you face any issue.

CS3: PDF-Export Transparency Issue when Image-Links are missing

I have a Layout with a transparent Frame on the top most Layer. For this Workflow-Step I do not have access to the original Image-Links, so I guess that all I see are the embedded Preview-Pictures and InDesign reports that all Object-Links are missing.
If I export this Layout as JPG, the resulting JPG looks like the WYSIWYG in InDesign, which is suitable for this workflow-step. However when I export as pdf, the Frame is not transparent anymore. Instead it is filled with white color and covers the rest of the Layout. In Adobe Reader I can actually select the wrongly covered Picture at the border of the frame and copy&paste it somewhere and it looks fine.
When I provide the original Frame-Picture and repair the missing Link in InDesign, PDF-Export works fine.
I have installed & updated InDesign on a new Mac OS X 10.4.11, so all settings should be default.
Transparency Blend Space is set to CMYK. I tried all default PDF-Export Profiles and tried a lot of different settings in the pdf-export dialogue including different PDF-File-Versions, Simulate Overprint on/off, Color-Conversion disabled, disabling Picture-Compression and much more. I also tried to Print a PS-File and then use the Distiller: same result.
I use Adobe InDesign CS3 V 5.0.2 and tried Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 to display.
Any Ideas?

Transparency flattening REQUIRES having access to the high-resolution images to get good results. One of the slogans I teach printers is "Fatten before you flatten." Meaning, replace the low-res images with high-res images.

Always assets links are missing when changing the location.

Since adobe muse older versions, asssets files are missing when changing the location or computer. For example develop some project on "desktop" when it move to another location( ex: Another partition or folder with different name), assets says links are missing, we have to relink all assest, is there are any way to fix it? why is that keep happenings? when i design muse templates to sell, it is serious problems to me .

You can then turn JSP compilation off on the server.

Adobe Story - All scripts missing

I have been working on multiple scripts for quite some time, saving frequently. Today, Adobe story updated and now ALL my scripts are missing. The only script that is still there is the sample script, which I deleted long ago. It's like it reset to default settings.
I have made sure I was logged into the correct account, and tried logging in on the desktop and online versions. Anyone else have this problem or a solution??

Just spent the last three days on the phone to Adobe support about the exact same issue only to be told at the end of a 40 minute conversation (most of which was on hold) that it's not supported over the phone. Great, thanks. Couldn't you have told me that three days ago before wasting my phone bill and time? So I guess we are all going to make the same 2 minute movie about a wizard then...
Sometimes my scripts appear when I am offline and not logged into to the Adobe account, if I try and go online it asks me to log out and log into the Adobe account and bammo, all scripts gone with good ole Paladin staring me in the face.
Please help me sort this out, please, please, please!!!

Where are the Adobe Story app files stored on my computer?

I can't afford to subscribe (especially to a program I already paid for), but I really need the files that I was working on in Story offlline before the subscription-only lockdown. I've already talked to tech support who said there's no way I can access the Story AIR application on my PC, but I absolutely need those files, so I will dig through XML or whatever format to get the info I need.

At the moment I keep getting an error saying "The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author".
I haven't fixed this problem yet though I've tried downloading the AIR3.3 like the other discussions say, though I don't think I even had AIR3.4 on my computer and it was working fine a month or so ago. Having said that I really want the offline files from Adobe Story as well so I can keep working on them whilst I try and fix the above problem. Any help in this area would be appreciated.

Why are many of my toolbar bookmarks suddenly missing, & why can't I designate where to put bookmarks now? Star won't accept double-clicks anymore.

All of a sudden yesterday I can no longer click the star twice to tell it where to put the bookmark, and even when I click it once it doesn't save the bookmark anywhere. Also many of my toolbar bookmarks are now suddenly missing. I've tried to restore bookmarks and it says it's unable to perform that function. Help!

You are correct,with the latest update, we have modified the links appearance.
This decision was based on a feedback from the users.
We changed the appearance as users were reporting that the 'blue rectangles' that used to indicate links, were interfering with their document viewing experience.Also, since those rectangles are actually not how the author made the file, we wanted to make the file look exactly as the author had desired.

Depending on the system version, and Office Word version:
- a pure URL link starting with http or even www sometimes works in PDF, either produced by Aperçu or Adobe, sometimes does not work;
- other kind of links where the text under display is not a URL, never work!
I like everything with Apple computers and software, except PDF generation. Output files are usually bigger in size, and no better quality, than under Windows. Furthermore, it is weird that something as common as hyperlinks does not work correctly!
I related this question with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, but the problem is still there with Mac OS Lion.
This problem seems to have been around for years, without any proper solution from Apple and/or Adobe! To me, this is very embarrassing!

If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

I've an old file without it's links folder, I was wondering If there was any way to extract low quality images from it to relink them.

@Bernardo – you could export the graphic frame that holds the low res preview to e.g. PNG.
But I would *NOT* re-link them! Place them anew in case someone has geometrically transformed (cropped, rotated, skewed, mirrored) the original ones. Keep in mind that by exporting graphic frames to PNG, fill and stroke properties together with applied effects are exported as well.

QM notification attachment links are missing from table SRGBTBREL

We have problem in our system and the documents(specially QM notifications-QM02 03) are not accessible from the content server only for a specific period (Nov to Dec 2009) due to a missing link in SRGBTBREL (No idea how the entries are deleted).
Now we want to know, how we can establish a new link or restore the missing link in table SRGBTBREL ?
Also if someone can tell how to find the relation between the PHIO_ID and notification number ?
or the relation between Archive object id and notification..if we have this information then we can some standard function module provided by SAP.
or anyone else have any better idea , please share

Thanks for your reply , the given links were quite useful and we got some ideas that what should be the approach.
Approach to resolve the issue -
At this moment we are trying to get the relation between the SOOD , SRGBTBREL, SOFFPHIO tables.
SOFFCONT1 is no more useful for us as the documents are old and have been archived to Content Server.
We have all entries in the SOOD table and also in SOFFPHIO table, but in the SRGBTBREL the links are missing and hence the documents are not visible in SAP.
If somehow we can get the missing link is this table I am quite sure that documents wil be visible and accessible from SAP.
Our main target is to relate SOOD SRGBTBREL and SOFFPHIO and get the PHIO_ID for the mising documents and then we have a functional module which will help to get the data from content server.
As per my current unerstanding this is the relation between the tables
SRGBTBREL-INSTID_B is related to: SOOD-OBJTP,SOOD-OBJYR,SOOD-OBJNO,
Like FOL30000000000003EXT31000000002416
Here

SOOD-OBJYR = 31

And This elelement is than linked to table SOFFPHIIO as follows:

Did you check in Story desktop version when it showed 6 pages? Story Desktop syncs with the online app (in which you were working) when you go 'online' so its possible that Story desktop has an older version of your script.
Also, can you please check the script's history in your browser version (if you are seeing the issue there) and see the versions to check for your data.
