In Aperture3 File Status - cannot find it in Filter as option?

Am trying to move all of my remaining masters located on my laptop to an external drive. 80% of them are already in a referenced library on an external drive. Trying to filter the pictures by using Command F (Find) and the Aperture 3 manual shows there should be an option just below Keywords, called File Status. File Status does not appear on my screen. I am using Aperture 3 v3.3.2. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong. Thanks your. Mark

Hi Mark.  You have to add any Rules that are not listed.  Click "Add Rule", upper right.

I get a message that itunes  has stopped working. When I check out why it is because of the dep security on my computer. When I try to find the program for itunes for the .exe file i cannot find it to turn off the dep for  that file

I found the file but when I added it to the  list for the Data  Execution Program to ignore , I received a message that the Program.x86/itunes file must have the DEP on in order to run. Anyone else having this problem ?

  • How can I open my file after 'cannot find -filename-' error message?

OK, the bottom line is, InDesign crashes and I cannot recover my file. I get a 'Cannot find file' error message when I try to open the file.
I am using CS6 on a MacBookAir, OS X Yosemite.
I have tried finding the 'InDesignFileRecovery' folder, I cannot find it anywhere, it's not in my Library or Caches folder.
However, I do work in dropbox, so I just headed over to dropbox to recover from their 'previous versions'. It starts to get weird. There are lots of previous versions (I save very regularly) but when I download a previous version (that I know was fine) it downloads with a indd.txt extension. So I remove the txt extension and keep the indd and everything looks fine, but then that recovered file gives the same message. I tried renaming the recovered file and opening that, same 'cannot find file' error message.
I can open InDesign and open the file from the day before, but none of the dropbox earlier versions of that day's work. I am SO sick of this happening. It happened to me last week to, so far I have lost 20 hours work :-(
I have tried quitting InDesign and restarting the Mac, doesn't help. The only thing I can think of is to 'save as' every couple of hours, at least then hopefully I only lose 2 hours work.

Thanks, when you say 'hidden by default' then how does one find it? I have already tried the path you mention and there is no sign of a cache folder with Adobe files. Spotlight doesn't reveal anything either.

  • Renameing files - iTunes cannot find files?

I recently got a new computer and forgot to send all of the music on my old one to this one - so i imported them from my iPod. When it imported them, it gave them file names such as "APKF" and "NXVX", so if i delete and file and then want it back - i have to go through all of the files until i find the one i'm looking for. A simple solution to this would be to rename the files with their correct artist name and song,... but when i do this iTunes cannot find the files when i go to play the songs ... it also does this if i simply just move a song from one folder to another ... help?
    Thank you!!!

I'm gonna keep them as their original four letter name and then just create a key in Notepad were it links the artist to the song by that four letter name. And them inport them one by one and enter their keys into a notepad...
It'll take a long time, but after i do it this one time i can just add and delete songs from the notepad.
    like this:
    Cage the Elephant:
    Back Against the Wall: WTHK
Ain't no rest for the wicked: TYRE
thank you soooo much for your help, but i'm a neat freak so i'm gonna do this. you don't know of somekind of software were you can save some kind of data? like a non-trial version of Windows Office Excel?

  • In the newest version of Firefox I am trying to enable java script and cannot find "Tools" to go to "Options" to go to "Web Features." What can I do to activate javascripts for facebook etc. ?

Cannot find the place to enable java scripts

Your issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • I seem to have emptied my trash with an important garageband file and cannot find it.  I get conflicting opinions on whether this file can be recovered.  Has someone found a way to do this kind of recovery and still have a useable file?

Does anyone know how to recover a useable (garageband) file after emptying it from the trash?  I get conflicting opinions on this.  This file was last seen in an opened password protected sparse disk image file.  I can also no longer find the diskimage.

    Hi,
I used a program (Mac) called File Salvage (maybe a Pro at the end) , when I did trash a vip file
Found this program online (its not free) but.. it did allow a test recovery to see if it could recover the data
(which it did) but.. could not save the data etc. For a fee You downloaded the program (and a disk with
the program followed soon after via expedited mail ) it was sure worth it, It was awhile ago
and I do not recall if how trash is emptied (securely or other mode matters)
    best of luck
tech tool pro (I think comes with Apple Care and I am unsure how that works with data recovery, but I
am a novice user and not a technical wiz. though do  a lot more stuff than I used too!

  • File adapter cannot find MFL file

I have installed BEA's file adapter and created a WLI
application view. I have also set up an MFL file for
translating a CSV file into an XML file. However, when
I go to test the service I get the following error.
I'm having a hard time finding any documentation that
will tell me where to place the flatFileFinancials.mfl
so the adapter can perform the transformation.
    java.lang.Exception: Adapter took exception: <eda><error cnctag="" code="-100"

    Exception.
    Unable to locate document: wlxt://mfl/flatFileFinancials
Thank you for any help you can provide.

I did end up finding one way to make it work. I ended up using the Format Builder
tool that resides in windows under BEA Weblogic Platform 7.0 => Weblogic Integration
7.0 => Format Builder. From here I went to the Repository menu and pressed ‘Log
In’. Then from the Repository menu I pressed ‘Store As’. Now, here is the key
point. Next I created an ‘mfl’ folder under the root of the repository. Then
I stored my flatFileFinancials in that folder.
This approach works fine. Althought I would still like to see some documentation
to help me configure the adapter to look for the file in some other location.

  • All of my iMovie projects disappeared after loading Mavericks.  The updated version of iMovie shows no files and cannot find any files to Import.  My machine, a beefed up Mac Mini, has slowed to a crawl.  Suggestions?

My Mac Mini takes forever to load programs now.  After loading Mavericks it seems like I am back in PC World again!!  My biggest concern is ALL of my iMovie projects seem to have vanished.  I do not have sound on some web sites like YouTube.  I lost the option to mirror from the Mac to the TV but I was able to solve that.  Any suggestions on recovery of files?  I do not use TimeMachine and did not back up anything before the Mavericks installation.  I know...that's bad.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Dreamweaver Files panel cannot find my sites

I'm running DW 2004MX on Mac OSX Tiger, I've been using this
configuration for 3 years without problem, managing about 20 sites.
This morning I start Dreamweaver as usual but the Files panel
shows no Sites even though around 20 were configured. All I can see
is a text link to "Manage Sites" and the standard list:
    Computer
    Macintosh Hard Drive
    Network
    FTP and RDS Servers
    Desktop Folder
All the details of all the sites, including the X.dws,
    XLiveChanged.txt and the X folder (containing dwSiteColumnsMe.xml)
are present in the following folder:
    myHomeDirectory/Library/Application
    Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver MX2004/Configuration/SiteCache
I've already tried the following without any success:
Reinstall DW MX2004 and 7.0.1 updater
    Repair Max OSX permissions
    Execute Mac OSX maintenance scripts
I'm sure there's probably some configuration or startup file
which needs editing or replacing to solve the problem but I don't
know which one, where it is or what to edit.
    Can anyone help please?
    Cheers

This is a known and very nasty bug in Dreamweaver. It is
    unfortunately
triggered by unknown events as I'm not sure it has ever been
    reproducible
reliably. Whether the issue is still with us in CS4 or not is
    also unknown.
Suffice it to say that forewarned is forearmed. For this
    reason, I keep a
complete set of current Site Definition exports in a backup
    location. If
you have never done this, then I am afraid you are out of
    luck....
    Sorry.

I'm sure someone else has ran into  this... any help would be much appreciated.

  • When I have multiple browser windows open - but in the "minimized" mode - and I want to open up one of them for viewing, ALL of the windows automatically open as well. How do I prevent this annoying function. I cannot find it anywhere in the options.

This does not appear to be a system issue, but rather a functional aspect of the browser windows. E.g., if I have 7 browser windows open to different sites... and all are Minimized, and I decide to open one to study, THEY ALL POP OPEN automatically. I am using Firefox v3.6.8 on Windows 7. This is an annoying behavior of the browser, and I am sure it can be somehow "turned off" but cannot determine how to do that. I have looked through all options. I am not a techie, but have reasonable proficiency with software apps.

This can happen if you drag a tab slightly down in the browser window while clicking.
Firefox has a feature called tear-off tabs
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
You can also do this via the right-click context menu of a tab: Move to New Window
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.
