In-Browser Editing Sync Issue - Muse CC 2014

I'm hosting on a third party solution and encountered this problem. I made a few minor edits to the page at http://www.fresnoincomeproperties.com/listings.html with IBE. Changes were processed and accepted on the live page without issue. When I go back to Muse CC 2014 and access the site to bring the changes made in IBE into my Muse development file for this website, Muse sees the changes made in IBE and presents the "Review and Merge Changes" window identifying each of the edits to be approved and synced with my Muse file for this website. However upon approval, I receive the following messages for each of the edits made in IBE:
Warnings:
Text frame on page 'LISTINGS' (with text 'AVAILABLE - Duplex - 231...') was modified on this web page, but the change could not be merged into Muse.
Text frame on page 'LISTINGS' (with text 'AVAILABLE - Duplex - 525...') was modified on this web page, but the change could not be merged into Muse.

Text frame on page 'LISTINGS' (with text 'AVAILABLE - 42 Unit Apar...') was modified on this web page, but the change could not be merged into Muse.
The IBE edits were a simple change to the hyperlink text linking to a google map for each property location.
The text for each property's map link was changed from "MapIt!" to "View Map." Linked URLs were not modified, only the text for the link.
Is this a known issue with Muse CC 2014? Is there a fix available? I need it now. My website clients are going to modify their website content independently using IBE. If I'm unable to sync Muse development files with their changes then Muse CC 2014 is in fact BROKEN and does not function in the manner Adobe has promised. I have a major investment of time and money in my relationship with Adobe and Creative Cloud transition. I've sold IBE to my clients as a feature solution and they expect this to work as do I. Please inform immediately if there is a fix or at least a work around to this problem. This problem is a deal breaker for any web design company looking to use IBE/Muse CC 2014. I'm very concerned that I'll have to tell clients that Adobe hasn't been able to deliver on its promises with this feature of Muse.
Awaiting your quick solution to this issue...
Sincerely,
Thomas Hobbs

  • Unable to sign and use In-browser Editing for Adobe Muse CC 2014?

I'm unable to sign in and use the in-browser editing feature for my Adobe Muse created website, http://foreseeson.com
which is not hosted on Adobe Business Catalyst, but hosted on a third-party (TUCOWS) hosting service provider.
When prompted to enter hosting credentials (which do work -- I've verified this by successfully using the Connect to FTP Host feature within Adobe Muse),
I'm given this message on the Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing website:
"The FTP server configured for this site doesn't seem to match the URL you entered.
Make sure that you use the Upload to FTP Host feature in Muse to publish the site directly to the final location and that you are logging on to In-Browser Editing with the same user."
is anyone else having this problem?
    thank you

    Hi
I am also unable to access the Inbrowser editing page now for 3 days. It won't open up, either in my clients site https://inbrowserediting.adobe.com/login/www.edc.org.za or another client also: https://inbrowserediting.adobe.com/login/www.calgan.co.za or just as plain https://inbrowserediting.adobe.com
I have tried it in 3 different browsers: Firefox, Chrome and Safari and it won't open up the site.
This is becoming a big problem for me as clients need to update remotely.
I used to be able to access these sites a few weeks ago and have not changed anything since. I don't have any special characters in the password and my IP is not being blocked. I am able to connect with FTP with Muse and with Dreamweaver. The sites are enabled for Inbrowser Editing under properties.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Why In-browser editing in Adobe Muse not available

    Hi
Why In-browser editing in Adobe Muse not available in my program as you can confirm in the attached image?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Augusto

The version of Muse that has in-browser editing will be available next week, but right now the only way to have access to that feature is to get the private beta. If you're a subscriber, wait until Monday, and you should get the update with in-browser editing.

  • Is it possible using In-Browser Editing in Adobe Muse CC to add or delete images from the online gallery?

    Hei,
The online editing works fine, changing text and swapping pictures is no problem.
Adding new content from your own computer works as well
But how is it possible for my client to delete some images from the gallery on the site using the in-browser editing?
Or for that matter add extra images to the gallery on the site?
    Is it possible at all?

Almost thought we found the ultimate workaround!
It does accept a transparent png file, even better it does not even have the shadow effects the rest of the images have in the thumbnail container.
So it is practically invisible if it was not for the cursor changing in a pointer hand
So up to this point I was really excited. But when I tried the in-browser editing of this "invisible" thumbnail, it recognised the thumbnail but it would not let the thumbnail be edited.
Weird part though was that I could click the "invisible" thumbnail and edit the enlarged picture, but the thumbnail would still be invisible
What do you think, can you think up a workaround for that?
    Thanks for brainstorming with me!

  • Adobe Muse in browser editing - BC webmarketing

    Hi,
    Can someone explain if there is a difference for the set up for in browser editing with BC if your starting point is;
    - create blank site in BusinessCatalyst (webMarketing) and then create a site in Muse and publish on this BC site. It seems you then automaticly get the Business Catalyst in browser editing function.
    - create a Muse site > publish to BC. Then it is a webbasic site..  and you get in browser editing the Adobe Muse style.
What's the way to go if your client need a site with the simple Muse in browser editing but a higher level BC then webBasic?
    Thanks.

    Hello Rene,
You can choose to create a site in Muse first and publish to BC, the site will be created as a web basics site. The web basics site also contains In Browser Editing in it. There's no relation between site plan and In Browser Editing. Once published, you can simply contact us via chat and we can upgrade the site plan for you as per your choice while still keeping the site in trail, should you choose to upgrade your site plan to Web marketing (or any other BC plan). To reach the Muse chat department directly, you can go to this page and select Adobe muse from the dropdown: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/index.html
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • In-browser editing not working on some pages

    Hi,
I am working on a couple of Business Catalyst sites that are being built using Muse ( v7.4 build 30 on OS-X 10.9.3) and seeing different behaviour when trying to enable users to use the in-browser editing functionality.
    On the first site:  http://ttk-test-1.businesscatalyst.com/AdminConsoleXT/icecube/index.html
Everything works as expected.  If I access other pages (i.e. not the home page) by clicking on any link, the destination page comes-up in editable mode.
    On this second site:  http://loxley-test-b.businesscatalyst.com/AdminConsoleXT/icecube/index.html
If I click on a manually created link on the home page, I get to the destination page and it is editable.  As for the other site.
If I edit the browser url to go directly to any page, it is editable.
If I access  pages by clicking on Muse Menu object links, whether automatically or manually generated, I notice that the displayed page changes to the destination, but the browser url doesn't.  In this case the destination page is not editable, unless I access it directly by editing the url.  Reading your Muse in-browser editing pages (Adobe Muse Help | Working with In-Browser Editing in Muse | Part 2), it seem that this should work?  or have I misunderstood something?
    thanks,
    David Seward

    Thanks.
So to summarise for anyone else reading this:  the behaviour I have seen is as expected given the Muse bug with links that have effects applied.
And the only other workaround at the moment is to create an "edit page" with links to every other page, so that the users can use those to get to a page to edit it.

  • Not very savvy, confused about the features(client hosting, in browser editing)! Clarify for me, please?

Hi! I'm in love with the idea of in-browser editing. I'm doing web design for clients using Adobe Muse at the moment, and it's great. The only setback is that it's really hard for the clients to update the page themselves, etc. My main and only reason to use BC would be to upload all of my clients websites on it and let them use the in-browser editor.  Am I wrong to think that that's how it will work? I sign up, and just upload the websites with their own domains, then set up the client's log in info for them?
I've heard about a limit to how many websites I can have, and users. Are the users the amount of clients I can let use the in-browser editing? Only 3? Please help me out, team!
Right now I'm using a different hosting (will not name) it was my first hosting provider, and I've used it ever since so I'm so used to unlimited websites, etc. Obviously, I'm so impressed by the BC features though that I really want to be apart of it.
Also, would this be under the $12 a month plan?

Adobe just released this in-browser editing tool for Muse websites- you might want to try it:
    Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing
As far as I am aware, there is no limit to how many website you can have. The 3 that you have mentioned is likely referring to 3 admins per site- but note that you can have more admins for a fixed fee.
You might also be getting confused by 5 free basic sites that come with a creative cloud subscription- so fyi, you can have as many sites as you like and the hosting fees, I believe, start from around $6-$39 per month.

  • Muse CC 2014 - In Browser Editing - if FTP access denied

Hi. We have a site built in Muse, the hosts have not allowed access via FTP so all changes must go through them = a real pain in the butt. So, this would be the perfect solution for the client to make their own edits and changes. My question is, is the fact that the host provider is denying direct access going to be a problem once the site is exported from Muse with settings correct etc for In Browser Editing? Will the In Browser Editing still work under these conditions?
    Cheers
    Grant

Can this be used for editing the mobile version of the site as well, if the mobile site is a separate set of files?

  • In Browser Editing-June 2014 Muse Update-Only Working With Widget Menu

As a non-BC user, I'm now able to accomplish in browser editing from my hosting company. However, I found that I cannot navigate to any pages that are not attached to a widget menu and edit them. Clicking on an in-website link not associated with the widget menu will take me to that page but not allow any editing to be done. It also does not load the page name in the address bar.
I did find a work-around with this: change the page name in the address bar to the non-menu-widget webpage name. It loads the page and allows editing. Not really user-friendly when trying to teach my clients how to conduct their own website edits. You have to supply them with every non-menu-widget page name to edit them. Ugh!
Does anybody know if Adobe is working on this? Can anyone suggest an easier work-around?

Could you share what site you are trying to edit? I haven't been able able to reproduce this problem.
When hovering over an object (text frame in this example) that has a hyperlink, a "Click" button should appear that allows the user to follow the link instead of editing the link text.
If only part of the text contains the hyperlink, the click button does not appear, but a small arrow shows when hovering over the link indicating that the click will follow the link.

  • Using Upload to FTP feature hangs, rendering In-browser editing feature unusable. Is this a known issue?

Verified FTP settings with my hosting at Godaddy. Adobe Muse CC (2014) says it can't sign in with the credentials provided. Therefore, I can't use the new In-browser editing feature. Is this a known issue?

There is a default port, for most of the FTP sverver, is 21(or 20 maybe), then you can access FTP with " ftp.your_domain".
But for some reasons, the hosting providers change the port to other number, 2100 for example, and the FTP address will be "ftp.your_domain:2100". In this case, you can upload your site to FTP in Muse, but u cann't login your FTP in Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing ,because you cann't input the port number (:2100).

  • Slideshow In-browser editing issues.

After I edit the slideshow via in-browser editing, I choose "sync with web version" in Muse. Two things:
    1. The newly uploaded thumbnail is cropped oddly.
    2. The slide uploaded via in-browser editing does not sync.
Basically, the client goes to the site and makes a bunch of edits that I cannot sync in Muse. Only the thumbnails edits show up, and most of the time they show up randomly cropped.
This is driving me crazy. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Thank you for the reply.
We are publishing to BC, where the client has access to upload content. When the site is ready, we’ll publish to our own FTP host.
No warnings when updating the slideshow.
The crop issue happens only when we sync, yes. The thumbnails changed by the client look fine on the live site. Below is a link to the page:
    St. Croix Sensory | TRAINING
As you can see, the thumbnails do not match the image in the slideshow. When the client changes the thumbnails, and images in the slideshow, they look fine and match. When we try to sync, only the thumbnails show up. When we update/publish to BC, we override the changes the client made because we're not syncing properly with the live site.
I appreciate your help. Thank you.

  • Using in-browser editing for Muse?

    Hi everyone,
I hope some of you can shed some light on this. I've been searching all morning for an answer online, without much success.
I am a Creative Cloud member and have access to the full package. I plan to get to grips with Adobe Muse so that I can create a website for my friend. I'm good at design but know nothing about code so Muse fits the bill for me.
I know that as a Creative Cloud subscriber, I am able to have 5 basic websites hosted, without having to pay anything else. I also understand the publishing to a temporary business catalyst site.
What I don't quite understand is this...
    1) Let's assume I create a website for my friend
    2) I publish it to the temporary site
    3) it's great. He wants it. He buys his own domain name and takes out his own Business Catalyst Basic host plan.
Is he able to then go into his own Business Catalyst site, edit the site through the in-browser editing function and then that to update my original files when I next go into Muse? If I don't get the update (because I now have nothing to do with the site, as it's his own host service), then that's OK...providing he can still make his basic updates.
The idea I have is that I could start creating simple websites for small businesses for a fee. Once designed, I would want to show them how to make small changes, through the in-broswer editing and then let them make their own small changes. If anything major was needed, I'd still have the original files, so could just do the work for them.
    Hope that makes sense.
Any help and guidance would be much appreciated and thanks for taking the time to read.
    Sebastian

    Hi sebastianhope81,
Yes, this is possible, although it's not quite evident on how to do it. Here's how:
You create the site in Muse and publish to a Business Catalyst temporary site.
Log in this site's Admin and go to Site Settings > Admin Users and add your customer as an Administrator of the site.
You go to http://www.businesscatalyst.com/partnerportal and log in with your Adobe ID.
Go to 'My Sites' and there you will find the above temporary site, and choose to Upgrade it.
In this form, choose 'Invoice My Customer Directly' and enter your customer's payment details (enter the same email address as the one in step 2).
What happens after these steps is that the customer is set up to pay for the site, and he is able to edit the site through in-browser editing. You are still the "partner" of this site, so whenever you choose to sync back the changes from the site to your .muse file, you are able to do so.
    Hope this helps.

  • Muse CC 2014 Crashing when I try to edit Page Metadata / HTML section

Muse CC 2014 is crashing consistently when trying to edit Page Properties / Metadata / HTML.  It appears that if I try to do Copy Paste of some text into this box, without already having a blinking cursor in the box, that Muse crashes with the error displayed in the attached image.  This has happened several times now.  I am running using Creative Cloud in OS-X 10.9.3.  To get here I right-click on the page, page properties.., click on Metadata, click in the HTML... box and CMD-V to paste.  I have pasted the text several times successfully.

This is a know regression issue in RoboHelp 11.0.3. The only workaround for now is to open the SLP files with notepad or another editor.
You can report this issue at: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=38 Though Adobe is already aware of this issue, this form gives them an estimate of how many people are using this feature. And the more people report it, the more likely it is to be fixed quickly.
    Kind regards,
    Willam

  • Muse: In-Browser Editing with third-party FTP

    Hi,
I recently finished a new website for my client. The domain already exist. Therefore, we will upload the new website, designed in Muse, directly to our hosting server's FTP. Is it possible to activate in-browser editing by using an third-party FTP? And if yes, which steps I have to do?
Thank you very much for your answers!

    Hi,
The June 2014 update to Muse enables In-Browser Editing for Muse sites hosted with third-party (non-Adobe) providers.
    See https://helpx.adobe.com/muse/using/whats-new.html#In-browser%20Editing%20enhancements for specifics.

  • Adobe Muse in browser editing with hoster different to Adobe

    Hey guys -
i´ve seen the message upon at the 2014 update.
Has anyone any experience with it?
Is there anything special needed at the package at another hoster?

    Normally, you need nothing else.
If you go to this site:
    Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing
and you fill in the correct credentials it should work with every homepage, that you have published via Muse.
    Just try it!
