In-browser editing using a Yahoo hosted site

I host several sites through Yahoo Small Business web hosting.  I love working with Adobe Muse, but I have always had to export HTML then use Filezilla to upload to the Yahoo server.
When will Adobe Muse support Yahoo sites?  I would really like to take advantage of in-browser editing feature.  I cannot seem to get the upload to FTP to work with any of my yahoo settings.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Lisa,
Can you please help us with screenshots of the error or issue you are facing when using upload to FTP in Muse with yahoo settings?
Regards,
Akshay

  • HELP!!!  in-browser editing using third party host "530 Login incorrect."

I'm trying to set up in-browser editing for a company I designed a site for in Adobe Muse.  The weird thing is that I actually logged in with her credentials and was able to edit them.  I sent her all the info and she can't get in so I went to log-in and I get this message:
The username and password are invalid for your FTP server.
Please check them and try again.
    Server Message:
    "530 Login incorrect."
I went back and double checked everything.  I even created a new ftp user from C-panel on ipage and I still get the same message.  So very frustrating.

Can you share what sites are having this problem on login? If you don't want to share that in the public forum, you can use the "Get Help" link in the upper right corner of In-Browser Editing to provide the details privately with the team.

  • In browser editing not working on some sites

Hi. A client of mine wants to use in browser editing for a site I created in Muse CC 2014 so I tried to test it out.  I log in successfully to In Browser Editing but nothing on the site is editable.  When I log in to my own site through in browser editing it works exactly as it should so I am really puzzled.  Both sites were created in Muse CC 2014 and constructed in similar ways. The only difference I can think of it that they are hosted by different companies:
My site - IBE works - hosted by GoDaddy - Q Services Design - Home
Problem site - IBE doesn't work - hosted by Network Solutions - Batesville Civic Center - Home
BTW, the site I am having problems with uses a web-safe font (Arial) so that shouldn't be an issue.
Any suggestions? Any input would be greatly appreciated as I sold this site to the client based on the in browser editing capability.
    FionaQ

I just logged in to my "problem site" to take a screenshot and it is now editable. I'm not sure what was going on earlier as I logged in and out a few times and never could edit … But all is well.  Hopefully this was just one of those glitches.  FYI the browser I was using when it didn't work (and when it did) was Safari 6.1.6.
    Thanks for your speedy help.

  • Publish to yahoo hosted site

I am having difficulty. I'm an Apple newbie. Just got my MacBook Pro before xmas.
    Here's my problem:
I have a website that I set up using yahoo. I created a new site using iWeb08. Saved it to a folder. Used filezilla and followed the directions on transferring files.
Now my old site's pages are still appearing with the exception of one page which I created using iweb.
What am I doing wrong? If you need more specifics let me know.
    Help......

I use the same host service you do. I upload my pages using cyberduck and it works. However, I've had several issues with the whole process:
If the name of your page has any accent marks or characters like "ñ" it won't upload it. I think it won't work either if you have spaces in your title. Try their customer service. Some of the people they have working are really nice and helpful.

  • With Muse, can you use In-browser editing of websites using Third-party Hosting Service Providers or not?

On this page:http://www.adobe.com/inspire/2013/12/in-browser-editing-muse.html, it says you must use Adobes hosting. On this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/muse/using/in-browser-editing-websites-third-party-hosting.html, it indicates you can purely from the title. Which is it?

    Hi Bob,
I found out how to do it, you drag the bounding box of the image container or rectangle to the edge of the browser boundary - as in the gray area around the edge - it snaps to it and the edges of the container go red to show this, and when its previewed it spans 100% of browser width. This video from Lynda explains how:
Creating the header and the footer (Updated) from the Course Designing a Portfolio Website with Muse
I can't upgrade as I have windows vista and the new version doesn't run on Vista, don't really want to buy a new computer just to run the latest Muse!
    Cheers!

  • In-browser editing screwing up font

Aside from the other issues I'm having with in-browser editing on an Adobe Muse site hosted with Business Catalyst I am now finding that in-browser editing does not retain the font that has been applied to text. For example, if I go to a block of text and paste over it, it will give my new text a completely different (seemingly random) font. Sometimes it just goes to a generic arial looking font, and sometimes it will apply something that looks similar to the font it should be but definitely different. Sometimes it will even make the lines of font overlap each other. It doesn't seem to matter whether the block of text has multiple fonts within it or just one font applied to the whole block. I get different results depending on if I paste the text in or type it, also where I type it and if there is a <br/> somewhere in the text. (I'm not putting html in the editor, just mean if I hit "Enter" to put text on a new line). The in-browser editing is pretty pointless if it doesn't keep the font. It seems kind of silly that it doesn't have at least a basic text editor ie. change the color, change the size, bold, switch the fonts. It should let you pick between fonts that are already found in the site. That would make this usable.
I have built quite a few sites with muse but this is the first one where the client specifically needed in-browser editing. After my experience with all of the glitches involved  (cannot merge changes with bc) I can't believe that Adobe is even offering this with Muse. Adobe if you're going to half-*** something just don't do it. All of the problems of having to deal with the in-browser editing glitches have already outweighed the time I put into building the site. The ease of using Muse is completely trashed by the problems of having to deal with this. Just take the feature away rather than tricking your customers into believing it's something "easy" that "just works". If I'd have known all of the headaches that would have been involved I would have just built the site in wordpress, joomla, or drupal. This problem is making me wonder why I'm even paying so much for a Creative Cloud membership. The main draws for me were Muse and the included Business Catalyst hosting. But the two don't even work together!!!

Wow, almost a year later and no one replied to you. I am having this same problem with my client, when they make a change it messes with all the fonts, or will just change it to something that looks like Arial, which I never used in my site. My client isn't happy because I told them this was a feature they were getting, but I'm learning now that it is pretty much useless. Can someone from Adobe please explain how to avoid this or is a fix that is coming out soon? I can't imagine it'd be that hard to add a few more options to the text edit, like choosing fonts and text size.

Make sure that you use the Upload to FTP Host feature in Muse to publish the site directly to the final location and that you are logging on to In-Browser Editing with the same user. server configured for this site doesn't seem to match the URL you entered. • Can I use "In-browser editing" with my site hosted externally?

    Hi
I have my own reseller account  here in the UK. I designed and created my own CMS, but as I've designed my first site in Muse, I thought I'd give the "In-browser editing" facility a go.
Does this still work if my website is hosted externally, or do I have to pay for this feature if I wish to use it?
I've looked everywhere and can't find any information that to use "In-browser editing" is chargeable or can be used in conjunction with an externally hosted website.
    Cheers
    Glynn

    Hi Both
    Thanks for your replies.
Sanjit, Adobe could perhaps make this clear on this page http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/muse/features.html where it is listed as:
    "In-browser editing
Let website owners make changes to the content of their live sites through a browser. Choose whether to merge changes with the original Adobe Muse files."
    Perhaps it could say
    "In-browser editing
Let website owners make changes to the content of their live sites through a browser. Choose whether to merge changes with the original Adobe Muse files. [ONLY available with Adobe Business Catalyst]"
or in the video if you click the title.
    Cheers

  • Can In-Browser Editing be used on a site exported as html?

can In-Browser Editing be used on a site exported as html? (Local Intranet)
    Thanks

Since In-Browser Editing is not able to connect to servers that are within local/private networks, the FTP host must be publicly available. Also, it will only work when published via "Upload to FTP Host..." which saves additional details needed for In-Browser Editing to function that "Export as HTML..." does not.

I am unable to use Muse in-browser editing. I have followed the activation instructions both in Muse and invited users. I would greatly appreciate any help. I am thanking you in advance, Bleu

I'd keep trying the other way. You may have hit it when BC was doing an update or something. If it works one way it should work the other way. But sometimes BC can be kind of temperamental and you have to do a little dance or something to get it to work. But it generally comes around and fixes itself in short time.
Have you tried the other way again?

  • Unable to sign and use In-browser Editing for Adobe Muse CC 2014?

I'm unable to sign in and use the in-browser editing feature for my Adobe Muse created website, http://foreseeson.com
which is not hosted on Adobe Business Catalyst, but hosted on a third-party (TUCOWS) hosting service provider.
When prompted to enter hosting credentials (which do work -- I've verified this by successfully using the Connect to FTP Host feature within Adobe Muse),
I'm given this message on the Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing website:
"The FTP server configured for this site doesn't seem to match the URL you entered.
Make sure that you use the Upload to FTP Host feature in Muse to publish the site directly to the final location and that you are logging on to In-Browser Editing with the same user."
is anyone else having this problem?
    thank you

    Hi
I am also unable to access the Inbrowser editing page now for 3 days. It won't open up, either in my clients site https://inbrowserediting.adobe.com/login/www.edc.org.za or another client also: https://inbrowserediting.adobe.com/login/www.calgan.co.za or just as plain https://inbrowserediting.adobe.com
I have tried it in 3 different browsers: Firefox, Chrome and Safari and it won't open up the site.
This is becoming a big problem for me as clients need to update remotely.
I used to be able to access these sites a few weeks ago and have not changed anything since. I don't have any special characters in the password and my IP is not being blocked. I am able to connect with FTP with Muse and with Dreamweaver. The sites are enabled for Inbrowser Editing under properties.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Using Upload to FTP feature hangs, rendering In-browser editing feature unusable. Is this a known issue?

Verified FTP settings with my hosting at Godaddy. Adobe Muse CC (2014) says it can't sign in with the credentials provided. Therefore, I can't use the new In-browser editing feature. Is this a known issue?

There is a default port, for most of the FTP sverver, is 21(or 20 maybe), then you can access FTP with " ftp.your_domain".
But for some reasons, the hosting providers change the port to other number, 2100 for example, and the FTP address will be "ftp.your_domain:2100". In this case, you can upload your site to FTP in Muse, but u cann't login your FTP in Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing ,because you cann't input the port number (:2100).

  • It seems like some of the features that I want to use are not available  in MUSE like in browser editing?

I decide to use Business Catalyst for hosting because it came with my CC membership, However it seems that some of the main things I wanted to do might not be available or can only be used for additional membership fees.  I wish that this was more clear beforehand!  I am happy with the built in things but I am a little disappointed in finding out some of the features that I wanted to use, such as in browser editing might not even be available at all as long as I use MUSE.  Managing customers using secure zones, and some other page level sign in forms seem to be not available also
Is this correct, if so what other limits can I expect?

People do fumble their way through going into the BC developer code editor online to do layouts etc and then to Muse and back but Muse only covers basic modules and templates. Not all the tag's, layouts, tag features and the guts of what being a web developer/designer is.
So you can go so far, but then you will hit a wall like everyone does with Muse.
Muse is not designed to do everything out there to make a site, it Cant, those sorts of tools from frontpage to Muse can only take you so far.
I can not just go build a house with the tools from the big depot. They may all do the job, but I do not have the knowledge or the plans to do so.

  • Not very savvy, confused about the features(client hosting, in browser editing)! Clarify for me, please?

Hi! I'm in love with the idea of in-browser editing. I'm doing web design for clients using Adobe Muse at the moment, and it's great. The only setback is that it's really hard for the clients to update the page themselves, etc. My main and only reason to use BC would be to upload all of my clients websites on it and let them use the in-browser editor.  Am I wrong to think that that's how it will work? I sign up, and just upload the websites with their own domains, then set up the client's log in info for them?
I've heard about a limit to how many websites I can have, and users. Are the users the amount of clients I can let use the in-browser editing? Only 3? Please help me out, team!
Right now I'm using a different hosting (will not name) it was my first hosting provider, and I've used it ever since so I'm so used to unlimited websites, etc. Obviously, I'm so impressed by the BC features though that I really want to be apart of it.
Also, would this be under the $12 a month plan?

Adobe just released this in-browser editing tool for Muse websites- you might want to try it:
    Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing
As far as I am aware, there is no limit to how many website you can have. The 3 that you have mentioned is likely referring to 3 admins per site- but note that you can have more admins for a fixed fee.
You might also be getting confused by 5 free basic sites that come with a creative cloud subscription- so fyi, you can have as many sites as you like and the hosting fees, I believe, start from around $6-$39 per month.
