In Built Media Storage Problems

Hi there,
Just now out of the blue i received a message "uncaught exception net.rim.vm.Stack Overflow Error" and have now lost everything on my inbuilt media storage.  I took my battery out and received a message "built in media storage not accessible due to detective errors.  Do you wish to repair now?"  I pressed YES and then it gave a message "If lost clusters are found during repairs, do you want to save them?" and I pressed YES again.  It tried to repair but failed.  I have lost all my photos and music.  Is there a way of getting them back?  I also have a new 8 gig memory which i have now changed everything to save onto.  Please help

Hi Carmen,
Have you recenlty taken backup of your device including in built media storage, if yes then you may restroe your data from there otherwise it would be difficult to recover the lost data.
Further try to boot your handheld by battery pull, while device is powered ON & re-insert battery after a min, then check..!!
Good luck...!!

    Blackberry Torch 9800 v6.0.0.246, platform 6.4.0.105
    Hello,
I receive a Blackberry Torch for Christmas.  It was working great until I connected it to the computer for first time and did the updates and backup suggested.  I now get the message "Built in storage media is not accessible due to fatal errors".
I also lost all the ringtones.  Being a non-techie I did not connect the two.  The next time I connected to the computer to backup etc and to download ringtones because mine were gone, all the wallpaper that comes with the device was gone.  I have connected again to back up my blackberry and
tried to restore to see if that helps, it does not.
I did try to reformat my Built in storage media but it did not get rid of the error message and now I do
not even see built in storage media coming up when I am in device options.
Can anyone help me?  Should I be returning this device or can the problem be fixed?
    Thanks

Still haven't found a solution online.  Phoned BlackBerry head office today and had them transfer me to a tech who provided 3 options:
    1) go to this website and search http://ca.blackberry.com/support/
    2) Contact Telus, since they have people trained by BlackBerry - if they cannot solve it, ask the rep to call BlackBerry - they can do this via conference call
    3) Pay BlackBerry tech, cost $50/hr
    also came across this posting:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=KB26025&sliceId=2&cm...
part of the resolution is "Locate the affected file and remove it from the BlackBerry smartphone. If the error continues, then complete the following steps to format the internal memory on the BlackBerry smartphone."
How do I locate the affected file?

When perfoming a device backup through Desktop Manager, if I include 'files saved on my built-in media storage' it fails with the following error:   "There was an error backing up. There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the backup. Verify that the device is turned on and connected"
Unchecking this option and its successful.
    Any thoughts?

My guess is that it's related to content protection, but was hoping someone else would have encountered it.
Honestly though, the BES backups have been more than adequte - as long as the user account was deleted at the same time as the device wipe.

  • Time Capsule as Itunes Media Storage

I'm thinking about buying a Time capsule, but I want to know if that's what I really need.
    1) My main problem is that I can't use my MacBook to hear music, watch movies or sync my Iphone 4 through my apartment 'cause my Library is in an External hard disk that needs electric power to function, so every time that I need to buy/hear music, watch a movie from my MacBook I have to be connected to my External HD. So, if I buy a TC can I sync/stream wirelessly my devices?
    2) Also I have an Apple TV and much of the times I buy music/movies/videos from there. If I connect the Apple TV to the TC, My library stills in just one folder in the TC?
    3) The TC is always on? or it starts up when a device is trying to connect to it?
Thank you very much in advance...

  • Storage Problem with Zen vP

Hi folks,?I recently got?a Zen vPlus for Christmas, and with only 82 songs, 7 pictures, and [short] video, it appears that all of my 2 GBs are already used up. When I go into 'extras' and 'removable disc', it seems that GB is dedicated just to that, which seems strange because when connecting it to the computer, the 'removable disk U: dri've' appears to have no files on it. Has anybody had similar issues? More importantly, does anyone know what the problem may be with my storage? Surely the 2GBs have not been used up with so few files? After all, it is advertised as being able 000 songs... Many thanks for your help,?- CD

It's not a storage problem, but your Zen has been configured to use gb of its space as removable storage. You can get it all back by going to Extras ---> Removable Disk --> Hold Back Button --> Selecting Disable. You can also switch the capacity, if you want a small portion of your space to be used for non-media files.

  • Best solution for media storage

    Hi Everyone,
I am looking for suggestions/how-to on the best setup for media storage. We have two editors (and two computers - Mac Pro PowerPC and iMac Intel). We are currently using an internal 500 GB slot on the Mac Pro along with 1 additional external 1.5 TB drive. Then, on our iMac we use a 1.5 TB external drive. We use, for external drives, LaCie.
Here's our problem. We are running out of space. So, what is the best solution for media storage? Should we get a small rack for our external drives from LaCie and daisy chain them? Or, should we get a server? The only problem I have with a server is connection speed...we, most of the time, have a slow connection at our college.
p.s. here is a link to LaCie's website listing a rack...and we have the d2 drives. So, do you daisy chain them or plug each one in individually?
    http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?pid=10172
    Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Everyone!
Thank you all for your suggestions. I agree...Drobo looks great, but I am finding more and more bad news when it comes to editing. It looks like a great solution for archiving. I received another solution with great reviews from one of my colleagues contacts. They work for a big company.
Hope this helps...something else to add to the mix.
*Our edit suite storage solution is a Facilis Terrablock 24EX unit. (http://www.facilis2.com/24ex.html) It has 18TB of space and is connected on 4GB Fibre channel to both suites. On top of that we have an Apple X-Serve running Final Cut Server that sorts and catalogs all the video we put in so network users (Mac and PC) can search and look at media from their workstations. We just put this in a few months ago. Before that we had a Rorke Data Galaxy HDX with 6TB of space on a 2GB Fibre Channel connection. ( http://www.rorke.com/av/galaxy-hdx.cfm ) It’s now a backup storage unit. Both systems have excellent performance though, we upgraded mostly for space and the server software.*
Again, thank you all for your help. I will research all suggestions.

  • B520 Built-in Microphone Problem

We recently got a B520 77452MU All In One.  It includes a built-in webcam & microphone, and since right out of the box the microphone has recorded horribly.  It has very high background noise, kind of like a whirring static-y fan, so high that one might say the talking is actually the "background" noise.  We've tried updating the drivers and adjusting the microphone settings in the sound section of the control panel.  After troubleshooting extensively with the warranty tech support, they said it wasn't a normal problem and had us ship it in to try replacing the microphone (the particular model # we bought was not available to order by the time we received ours - it took a month to ship - so the sales rep couldn't just exchange it). That did not resolve the poor recording quality, even though the repair slip said the webcam/mic unit was replaced and passed the test, so we're thinking this must really be a normal weakness of the system.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Has anyone figured out a solution?
We like the features of the computer otherwise, so we're thinking about just buying an external microphone, but it is very annoying to have an "all-in-one computer" mounted to our wall with accessories hanging off it because it isn't really "all-in-one".

I have more info on my own situation (with a USB connected head set.) Net: the Rosetta Stone suggestions seem to have worked. I've listed the steps they supplied for Windows 7. I made two changes from what I had been recently using, highlighted in red under "Editorial Comments" in steps 9 and 12. That combination seemed to stop the background noise (feedback from a device?) in my talking during voice recognition.
I realize this doesn't directly address the original post about "B520 Built-in Microphone Problem" since i wasn't doing the same thing. The original symptom, though, seemed to be related.
The suggested steps with a USB headset for voice recognition with my annotations:
    1. Plug your headset into an available USB-Port.
    2. Open the Start menu.
    3. Click on the Control Panel.
    start menu
    4. If you're viewing the Control Panel by Category, click Hardware and Sound and then Sound. If you're viewing by Large or Small icons, click Sound.
    open sound menu
    5. On the Playback tab, highlight your device by clicking on it. Your device may be listed as C-Media USB Audio Device, USB VoIP Device or Other USB Device. (Editorial comment: my only USB choice was "USB VoIP Device", which was what I was already using.)
    6. Click the Set Default button. If there's a green checkmark next to your preferred device, it's already set as the Default Device.
    Set Default
    7. Click the Properties button.
    click properties button
    8. Click the Levels tab.
    9. Adjust the Speakers to 30.   (Editorial comment: mine had been set to 67.)
    10. Click OK.
    11. Click the Recording tab.
    12. Highlight your device by clicking on it. It should have the same name as the device that you selected in the Playback tab.  (Editorial comment:  my microphone highlighted had a different name, "Lenovo USB 2.0 Audio", though I had nothing else audio but my headset plugged into a USB connection. I  highlighted the "USB VoIP Device" name used in step 5.)
    13. Click the Set Default button. If there's a green checkmark next to your preferred device, it's already set as the Default Device.
    14. Click OK.

  • Cannot use onboard media storage - and worse

    Hi,
    Anybody able to help, please?
First, my torch developed a problem where it could not use the onboard media storage.
Then later - it could not use the storage card either.
Now it won't even boot up.
Clearly the phone/software is completely dead, but I have quite a lot of media files I want to keep.
I'm sure the solid-state storage is fine, it's just that the software can't get to it.
    Any ideas please? thanks

Try a clean re-load of the Device software using Desktop Manager.
Also if you put your SD card in a Card adaptor and transfer any media onto your PC, you can then Repair or Reformat the SD card

  • Built-in Storage Issue (Other at 99%)

    Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Blackberry Torch 9810's storage. I took my phone into Bell and all they could say was "Oh, that weird! I don't know, I've never seen that before."... Basically they weren't much help, so I thought I'd post here and hope for better luck.
I noticed a while ago that my phone's built-in storage was practically full at 99%. About 50% was video and pictures, and the rest was listed under "Other". I couldn't figure out what "Other" was so I ended up buying a media card and transferred all my pictures and videos to it to free up space. Well immediately after doing that, my built-in storage read 99% for "Other".
I went into Files, and clicked properties for Device (it says it is 99.82%; 6.2 GB of 6.2 GB used). I then opened the device and checked the properties of each folder:
    - Blackberry (8.4 MB)
    - files (70.7 MB)
    - fonts (38.9 MB)
    - home (12.4 MB)
    - start.app (30.8 MB)
    - all single files in Device (roughly 14MB)
Seeing as that all adds up to only 175.2 MB, I'm not sure where this "Other" could be coming from?
My calendar is also acting up. I have it set to save my appointments for forever (there aren't many and only date back to June), but every couple of days they all disappear and I have to restore my calendar using Blackberry Protect. I'm not sure if maybe my phone is deleting them to create space.
Sorry this was so long! Hopefully it's not confusing. Any help would be appreciated

I doubt this can be relocated or moved so you might want to just repost in the macbook pro area.

Can you afford a new Thunderbolt case and cable? any case with FW800 is going to be slow 72MB/sec and less, and any new 1TB drive is capable of 75MB/s minimum up to 125MB/sec.
Thunderbolt storage can of course when setup properly reach 100's of MB higher using multiple drives.
Use what you have for a system backup or for secondary backup storage.
you might be able to take the drive - most cases allow you to open and swap drives - and use this:

  • Storage problem due to error Accessing to DialogRequestQueue in BatchProcessModel

    Hi,
we are using the TS 3.1 BatchProcessModel for an application in a client and we've found an error. Until now they were producing only 2 shifts a day. Since one week they start the third shift implying 7 days/24hours production. After this week they got one message error and TS terminates (I attach the message). This problem is related to the DialogRequestQueue. This Queue is created at the beginning of the BatchModel (Create Dialog Request Queue step) and in the middle of the Batch Loop there's a sequence call step with the name "Wait For TestSockets -- GetUUTSerialNumber" that calls the sequence "ProcessTestSocketRequests". In this sequence there's a step called "Get Next Request" where there's a Dequeu operation.
The error message that we get seems to be related to a storage problem, something like the Queue is not dequeued and get bigger and bigger, is it?
Some idea how to repair this problem? Thanks in advance!

    Hi
it a though task, with out disturbing how can we do.
    Ok
    Option 1
Use the method DELETE_VERSION_FROM_DB of the class CL_RSTRAN_STAT to delete the existing A version of the transformation manually in the target system.
Ensure that the transformation is permanently deleted from the database; therefore, you should verify that the correct transformation ID is specified. so the the transformation get deleted in qulity for the particular source system
    OR
    Option 2
Manually in the Quality system you can use RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL in se38
Last optionis creating the deletion request from Development and importin the request.
once this is done in the
Create a new request in the Development , Add the old request which is already transported into the quality before.
in the new request delete the object which are not required and relese it and import that to quality.
now all the status will turn green.

  • Device screen not turning off + Media Player Problems

My screen does not turn off, I checked the settings in screen/keyboard and they are set but don't seem to work. This is causing my battery to drain.
Also, I am having intermittent media player problems.
    Suggestions?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
Good luck and let us know!

  • CS6 Media Browser Problem

When using the Media Browser in Premiere Pro to view files in a folder that contains many files (100+), the browser keeps jumping back to the beginning after viewing a few of dozen files.  I then have to scroll back down to the last place I was and then I can continue a little further before the browser jumps back to the beginning again.   The files do not open instantly -- there is a finite time where the message "processing ..." is displayed.  I gave up before getting to the end.   I doubt that I have an under-resourced computer since it is a i7-3770K with 32GB RAM and a GTX670 card.  Is there a limit to the number of files that can be viewed in the Media Browser?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks
P.S.  Just did a search on the problem and I see that it is a well known issue.

    Hi guys !
Just wanted to post because we had the same problem on 4 different computers with different configurations.
It was really annoying to have this jumping/refreshing media browser problem. At a point, that this browser was useless.
Then we had a problem with droping sound editing r3d code... Kind of a deal breaker, when the company claims that you can edit 4K r3d files no ?
We finally figured out that the Media Cache and the Media Cache files NEEDS to stay in the original folders (C:\Users\nameofuser\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common).
Even if everybody on the web tells you to dedicate a single SSD just for the media cahe, it won't work for Premiere pro. DON'T MOVE THOSE FOLDERS !
Removing those folders to the original place (C:\Users\nameofuser\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common) [again]  solved the problem for us. Hope it will work for you guys.
Don't blame Adobe, i'm sure they'll read my post to fix this in the next version of premiere
