In-built mic sound quality bad

I have a macbook pro and use Adobe connect. When I go into audio set up with in-built mic as the chosen device, the sound quality is awful - very pixelated. The mic works fine with Skype & Facetime, but not with Adobe connect. Any suggestions?

hey azay007,
curious to know, does the mic work if you uninstall the current driver and let windows install its generic drivers ?

  • Pandora sound quality bad -- how to add on site to browser

The sound quality for pandora is really bad lately. A new problem. Songs break up routinely, even if I am only wordprocessing on my computer. For their FAQ, they suggest add pandora to my sites, but don't know how to do this -- tried to find a place under tools re: security privacy settings. Not sure if that will fix it.

  • Audio podcast sound quality bad

Hi, I'm producing a podcast that's all vocal. I compressed the half hour long show to mp3 with the standard vocal podcast (which has a bitrate of 96). The sound quality for the voices is pretty bad. It sounds like we have lisps. The s sounds get muffled out. I tried doing an mp3 compression at 160kbps and it sounds a bit better but I don't think I need to be compressing it with such a high bitrate. Is there anything that I might be missing? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to export it without compression, just to check if it maybe sounds bad by itself? E.g., when you're clipping the levels, you might not hear it in GB, but in the exported audio file.

  • Optical drive sound quality bad?

I recently had a firmware update done to this computer. However I noticed that when I ripped CD's into iTunes the sound quality diminished. There is almost no bass and a lot of highs. I have checked the iPod EQ, the iTunes EQ, OS X sound preferences, my speakers, and my headphones. I also checked the iTunes store purchases I made but they still sound great. Only songs I rip from CD's sound worse only after I updated the firmware. Any suggestions?

There shouldn't be a reason for a firmware update to the drive to cause a quality issue with music you rip. Basically, the drive just reads the data. It can either read it or not, but it won't change it. As A BRODY asked... do you know what bitrate you recorded it at? Perhaps you had changed a setting?

  • Is it possible to get a refund if i bought an album with extremely bad sound quality?

As asked in the title, is it possible to get a refund if i bought an album with extremely bad sound quality?
I am very unsatisfied with my latest purchase of the album "Never take ffriendship personal" by "Anberlin" ...
I can find all the songs in much better quality, even on YouTube ...
I bought two other albums by Anberlin at the same time, on which the sound quality is much much better and perfectly clear.
is it possible to get some sort of refund ???

  • E430 Fix bad sound quality with Win 7 + Dolby Advanced Audio

Problem:  In Windows 7 x64, sound quality is tinny and sounds very badly DSPed when Dolby Advanced Audio is activated.  Even setting all effects off and EQ off the sound is bad simply because Dolby is/was turned on.  Going to Sound > Playback > Speakers > Properties > Enhancements, checking Disable All Enhancements and clicking Apply clears up the sound, but then the EQ won't have any effect.
Solution:  If you have Win 7 x64, uninstall the Win 7 driver (h0a114ww.exe) and instead install the Windows 8 driver (h0ac10ww.exe).  Note that this is NOT the Win 8.1 driver - that won't install under Win 7.  The sound quality will be way better when you use Dobly EQ and effects.  So far I haven't had any stability problems.
I thought my E430 had the worst sound card ever until I upgraded to Windows 8 and installed the new driver.  I have Windows 7 dual booted and found the sound quality in Win 7 terrible so I played around with it and found the above solution.
    Solved!

  • Why does my iPod have bad sound quality?

    Hi!
I have an iPod Touch 8gb.
    iOS 4.3.4
    Jailbroken...
About 3 months ago, my headphone jack broke and was stuck in my iPod...
I got it out a week ago..
But the sound quality is really bad.
Theres too much echo, not enough bass and too much distortion and gain...

Based on other user's expereince, the headphone jack is damaged and requires replacement provided that the problem is only with headphones.

  • 6120c with 3.83 producing bad sound quality !

hi i got a new 6120c few days back and currently i have 3.83 V firmware , i am experiencing very bad mp3 quality when ever i use supplied head set which is HS47, that sound quality is below average or may be my phone is producing just mono not sure about it ... is nokia planning to come up with any new firmware for 6120c???
can we rollback its current firmware 3.83 to the orignal and older one which i think was 3.41 ????
    thanks

Hi, did you use the Music Transfer application from Nokia PC Suite to transfer your mp3 files to the phone? If yes, probably your files were converted to .aac format to decrease file size and probably they lost some quality. This happened to me before. So I just used File Manager from Nokia PC Suite to copy my mp3 files from the PC to the phone's memory card as they are, without any conversion. This procedure solved the sound quality issues for me.

  • Sound quality? (Zen Mic

Hey everybody~ I'm new here. I just bought a Zen Micro on boxing day and I love it! The sound quality is great at 98dB SNR but there's one problem I have with it. On more powerful vocals the sound seems to go all staticy and distort a little. I know it isn't a problem with the mp3 because most of mine are encoded at 320kbps and they are distortion/static free on my computer speakers. I don't know if the player being an open box item has anything to do with it (last zen micro on boxing day) but has anybody had problems with a bit of static/distortion on louder/higher vocals? Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks in advance~

i to have my music encoded at 320kb
    ps.
the headphones they include are not too bad but they are a little weak in the high end of the audio spectrum. i've upgraded my earbud headphones and it's a little better but it does seem hard to get any amount of treble/high end boost with the EQ without it sounding like crap. i'd suggest messing with the EQ a little more and possibly upgrading the earbuds.

  • I RECENTLY BOUGHT SOME SONGS FROM ITUNES BUT THE SOUND QUALITY WAS REALLY BAD. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO?

i bought some songs yesterday that i really liked but when i was listening the sound quality was really bad. it just ruined the song almost. i am not sure what to do about it.

You might try listening to the songs from other devices or systems to make sure it doesn't have to do with your computer specifically.
Also try to preview the songs from your computer and any other devices if possible to see if the preview sounds any different.
If you're still having issues you should contact iTunes support:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
Once you get there, choose Music Purchases from the list, then choose Music Purchases again, and it will let you Email them directly about the issue.
Give them the names of the songs you bought and as detailed a description of the audio issue as possible.

  • IPhones 3GS dead pixel and bad sound quality

As i was going through some photos i notice a small white dot then looking closer to the screen i recently notice about 4 dead pixels and also when playing music through headphones the sound quality is not clear. I tested my iphone and a ipod touch with the same song and the results were the ipod touch had better sound than my phone. Can apple fix this?? Thanks

As for dead pixels, Apple considers a small number as unavoidable with LCD displays and covers only a "high number" under the warranty. Apple would have to inspect the phone and determine if it's a covered defect. Make an appointment with an Apple Store Genius Bar.

  • Sound Quality from usb connector bad

serial connection/usb connection does not give good sound quality although connections through headphone jack is perfect.  How can this be fixed?

Am i understanding your problem correctly, it sounds (haha! No pun intended!) like the earphones are not able to handle the highs & lows of these songs and basically you're overloading them causing the crackling noise.
Are you using the earphones/buds that came with your iPod? If so, that could be why the song sounds good on your external speakers, but not through your earbuds.
    Hope that helps

  • Sound Quality Loss

When I create a track on an audio instrument track using the Vienna Symphonic Library Special Edition, the sounds are great. But then, when I export it to an audio track in order to save room, the sound quality goes way down. Is this because I am using the built-in audio on my macbook pro? 16 and 24 bit exporting doesn't seem to make a difference.

Colin, theorectically, there should be no difference.
    theory sometimes lets us down.
    it does here.
i find the same thing: everything sounds like a million bucks then you press bounce or export and the resulting file sounds like a quarter of a million.
some things you can do to keep up the dub quality are: get the instrument to peak at no more than -6 on logics meter.
keep the playback tracks level down, especially if you have a full orchestra going (25-40 tracks). mine end up somewhere around -18.
a frozen track results in a 32bit file. 24bit is the max for export and bounce.
i can hear a difference there too.
this is nothing compared to the quality loss, as in Waveburner, when dropping to 16bit for CDs...... THAT is very noticable.
let's not mention CD to mp3(:
maybe things will change in a future edition of logic where 32bit files may be used anywhere.
make sure you are listening to the playback at the same level (spl) as before dubbing.
The built in audio has nothing to do with the quality of a bounce, it only outputs the result.
apples conversion is not top grade, never has been.
it might be time to invest in a pro D/A. Benchmark make a beauty.
if you don't need 8in/8out, just go for a 2in/2out. at the same price point, the 2/2 should be of better quality.
the loss with digital is nowhere near as bad as with analog, if that makes you feel any better.
    best, david r.

  • IPod classic sound quality issues

    Hi guys,
I understand probably it's too much early to discuss this topic but anyway I try to ask.
In order to the release of the new model (yesterday's event in USA)of the classic, anybody has any news about the sound quality complaints arised in the previous months?
I mean, anybody knows if the quality sound problems, due to the change of the sound micro-chip, have been solved in the new modelMany thanks in advance for the help.

Excellent question, the answer to which I eagerly await. If the sound quality improves, I might purchase a 120GB, otherwise, there are now alternatives by competitors with 120GB capacity, similar form factors, built in FM radio, subscription music services, and wireless sync of the music library for the same price as Apple's 120GB. They don't have the sound stage issue as the 160GB Classic. There is even a 240GB model being offered by a competitor.
Too bad Apple didn't release a 240GB Ipod classic. Toshiba, Apple's hard drive manufacturer, announced a 240GB 1.8" drive on 9/9, coincident with the Apple Ipod announcements. I have a large and growing library of classical recordings as I explore the classical catalog, as well as many Podcasts. I could really use the space! I've input this request on Apple's Ipod feedback page and suggest that any like minded customers do the same.

  • IPod Classic 6th Generation Sound Quality

So I'm looking to buy the iPod Classic 6th Generation (80gb) because it's cheaper than the 7th Generation. But after some internet research, people are saying the sound quality is really bad. Is there any way to upgrade the sound quality, and just make it better?

iPod Classic doesn't have any wireless built-in, so you would need a wireless microphone system plugged into the iPod output (and which is the size of 2 iPod Classic) and a wireless receiver. so it won't be very comfy to "walk around home, and this stuff start around 100$, so you'd be better off with an iPod Touch, although it has less storage.
