In C3 Ripple Edit tool doesn't delete frames when using a Dissolve

In Premire Pro C3 when I use the Ripple Edit tool to delete frames between two scenes in the Time Line, it looks like the frames have been deleted when previewing or playing the edit.  However, if you then place a Cross Disolve Video Transition over the edit and then play the result, you can clearly see all of the frames you deleted playing under the disolve.  What's up?  How do you get the Ripple Edit to really take or is this a software bug?

You are running up against a lack of Handles in your Clip. See this ARTICLE for more details and background on Handles. Just reset your In & Out Points for the Clips in question, to create more Frames for Handles.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Can't delete history when using magnifying glass icon on home screen. Anyone know how to? Thanks.

If I click on the magnifying glass icon to do a search for something - the icon of the place I searched stays in the window and I can't seem to delete it.  Does anyone know how to delete that history? I can delete my browser history by clicking on the little box in the lower left hand corner of that screen, then clicking on history then selecting and clicking "Clear History." That option is not available when you use the magnifying glass icon.  Help! Thanks.

When using "SearcH" (the magnifying glass), you can cler your your search history.  Swipe down from the top of the screen, tap "Settings", then "Delete Search History".  I think this is what you're looking for.

  • Using Slide Tool No two up display when using keyboard shortcuts

I've noticed when using the slide tool using my mouse, I get the two up display in the canvas the way I'm supposed to, where it shows me the new out point on the left frame and the new in point on the right frame. However if I select the clip and then use the left and right brackets to move the clip, I don't get the two up display in the canvas like if I was using the mouse.
Is this normal, and if so, is there a way I can see the two up display when using the keyboard to slide? thanks.

    Is this normal?
well the 2-up is activated by the mouse click and when you trim from the keyboard there's no mouse click ... so yes, this is normal
is there a way I can see the two up display when using the keyboard to slide?
good question. am not in front of an FCP station right now but if i were i'd be clicking around trying to find if it was possible some way

  • Tag-copying doesn't work properly when using "Edit in..."

    Hi folks!
I make use of Nik-plugins a lot to finish off my pictures. That's why I often use the "Edit in..." context-menu for hand over my Lightroom images to the Nik software. Usually I have tagged my images before, so I expect the created TIFF-file to receive the same tagging. But somehow that's not what happens.
The situation: I'm working on images which are tagged with a certain keyword, i.e. only these images are shown (I clicked the right-arrow on the category to show exactly those images). I hand over the file to the plugin (edit in...). LR creates the TIFF-file. The selection of the image I've created the TIFF of disappears, no new image is selected. I edit the image in the Nik product and save it. Afterwards I cannot see the image in my LR category. I have to switch to the "All Photos" view, find it there, select it, uncheck (strange!?) the tagging for the image, recheck the tagging and then switch to that tag again.
Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone have a solution? This really slows down my speed...

  • Cannot edit forward messages for e-mail when using...

    Hello,

When I forward an e-mail but at the same time would like to edit the original message - this is not allowed.
A friend of mine tested the same thing on a HTC Windows Phone 8 with same result.
Any reason for why this is not allowed or can it be done somehow?
    Kind regards,

Hi. I also tried this using a Nokia Lumia 620 and yes, it's not possible to edit the original message you are trying to forward. However, you can add your vote on the below link.

  • Photo edits not showing up in iPhoto when using PSE

I have recently purchased Photoshop Elements 13 and have set iPhoto to use it as my editor. That is working, however, when I save the file, the new file does not show up in iPhoto. It does, however, show up in Organizer. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks Larry, I don't doubt that I'm not doing it correctly, but I don't know what I am doing wrong.  I have selected PSE to be my external editor in the iPhoto preferences and when I select a photo in iPhoto to edit, it comes up in PSE. I edit the photo and select save (or click on the X in the top right corner of the image, I have tried both and gotten the same results both ways. I get a dialog box that indicates PSE is going to save the file in psd format. I have let it do that and I have also changed to JPG, neither has made any difference. I have also gone in and changed the preferences in PSE to replace the original file on the advice of help at Elements Village. It didn't change the file in iPhoto before that change and it hasn't changed it after that change either.
The file I originally was working with was in RAW format, and I read in another thread that there was no way for PSE to save the edited RAW file back into iPhoto directly, that it would need to be saved somewhere else, such as to the desktop, and then imported back into iPhoto. So, I edited a jpg file and saved it and that edited file did not show up in iPhoto either. From reading other threads, it seems to work for other people, but I don't know what I and doing wrong or what else to try. I have spent a ton of time trying to get this to work because I don't care for the PS Organizer and would prefer to use iPhoto to organize my photos and PSE and ACR to edit them, but so far I am not having any luck with it other than saving the edited file somewhere else and then importing it again into iPhoto, which is a pretty clunky way to have to do it.

  • TTL specified in put operation doesn't always work when using write-behind

I'm using a distributed cache with a write-behind cache store (see the config below). I found that when I do something like myCache.put(key, value, ttl), the entry survives the specified ttl. I tried doing the same with a distributed cache with a write-through cachestore and there everything does happen correctly.
Is this sort of operation not permitted in caches containing a write-behind cachestore? If not wouldn't it be better to throw an UnsupportedOperationException.
I created a small test to simulate this. I added values to the cache with a TTL of 1 to 10 seconds and found that the 10 second entries stayed in the cache.

Hi, still no luck. However, I noticed that setting the write-delay value of the write-behind store to 0s or 1s, solved the problem. It only starts to given me "the node has already been removed" excpetions once the write-delay value is 2s or higher.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 - Keeping last frame when using Razor Tool - Help!

    Hi Everyone,
A amateur editor here, I've had a bit of an issue after my cat decide to walk across my keyboard when Premiere was open!
Now every time I try and cut a clip with the razor tool it keeps the last frame and adds it on to the end. I imagine there's a shortcut to switch this off? But I have no idea what the shortcut is called...
There is now a beige strip after the selector, which wasn't there before! Does anyone know what my cat has managed to do and how I can turn it off?
    Thanks so much!
Here's a screenshot as it's hard to describe...

The beige or yellow stripe has always been there.
You can only see it when zoomed in.
It represents the duration of 1 frame.
In this case you are on the last frame of the left clip.
    Cannot turn it off.

  • Crop Area Tool leaves a small border when using Save for Web

A grain of sand as problems go; tiny but irritating.
    The process:
Click on an object (or grouped objects) with the Crop Area Tool.
Click File, and Save for Web and Devices
    The problem:
The resulting image is offset one pixel from the crop area box, leaving a white or gray border on one or more edges. No empty space between the image and crop area box is detectable when zoomed in all the way. All measurements appear accurate.
I'm using Illustrator cs3 13.0.2, with Windows XP.
Has anyone else come across this problem?

Yeah I have the same problem and it is incredibly frustrating!!

  • [SOLVED] setopt noclobber ! doesn't overwrite file when used in cron

Basically I have noclobber set to true in .zshrc... this prevents accidently overwriting files with the pipe command...
When I run the command in a console without the >! command and noclobber set to true it properly detects the file exists and fails to overwrite it.
    curl http://static.die.net/earth/mercator/1600.jpg > /home/geota/geota/.worldmap
    zsh: file exists: /home/geota/geota/.worldmap
Now when I exchange the pipe command to >! it properly overwrites the file when executed manually in the console... however if I have this command set in my crontab it instead of properly overwriting the file it just pipes it to a file named ! in my home directory...
    # Reload Background Image
    */30 * * * * curl http://static.die.net/earth/mercator/1600.jpg >! /home/geota/geota/.worldmap && xfdesktop
I have tried a few different slight alterations to no avail such as
    $(curl http://static.die.net/earth/mercator/1600.jpg >! /home/geota/geota/.worldmap)
    `curl http://static.die.net/earth/mercator/1600.jpg >! /home/geota/geota/.worldmap`
Is there anyway I can get cron to excute the command and overwrite the file without setting noclobber to false?

crontab provided by arch is dcron which is very basic:
man crontab wrote:Unlike other crond/crontabs, this crontab does not try to do everything
under the sun.  Frankly, a shell script is much more able to manipulate
the  environment  then  cron  and I see no particular reason to use the
user's shell (from his password entry) to run cron commands  when  this
requires  special  casing of non-user crontabs, such as those for UUCP.
When a crontab command is run, this crontab runs it  with  /bin/sh  and
sets up only three environment variables: USER, HOME, and SHELL.
