In camera composite.. info

am trying to find out as much as i can about this stuff....
its pretty much happening fast in biz... getting a lot of use...
finally.. after much googling.. I am getting somewhere...
http://lightcrafttech.com/overview/in-camera-compositing/
what I do know ....sorta....
notice targets at top of frame... there is a little video camera mounted on top of the alexa that sees those targets and  you can then use the positions of those targets to pull this composite together...
so as the alexa runs it records to the sxs cards ( for example ) and at the same time info from the little camera on top goes directly to DIT station and is recorded there.
during the shooting.. you can get the image on monitors you see in the link above ( real action and the green screen keyed out to see your video added for background...)
this was done on set of boardwalk empire using maya I'm pretty sure.. ( maybe maya "live" ? )..
what i dont know
everything !!!! what hardware is needed and what programs to make this work !!!!
for recording it and playing it back etc.... I think mostly its fcp used... could premiere pro do it with the peripherals that can work with premiere pro ?
thanks for any info and links to more info and so on...
oh oh.. just noticed this page
http://lightcrafttech.com/purchasing/
is getting a bit beyond me now....
but regardless.. I will pretend price doesnt matter and learn what I can.. any pointers from you all would be appreciated.

  • Camera/exposure info hide

    Hello,
I am new to both Mac and Aperture 3 (recently downloaded from the app. store ) but not to photography.
I cannot seem to hide the camera/exposure info. box that follows my arrow around and covers a good deal of the image.
Any ideas, or is it a bug?

As always Kirby, short and straight to the point, nice...

  • How do I include camera settings info when exporting photos?

Hello! I am taking a photography class, and the instructor wants the camera settings (i.e shutter speed, aperture, ISO, lens, etc) to be included with the photos I send for my assignments. I see these setting when I click "info" in iPhoto, but do not know how to get those settings to export along with the photos so that he can see them. Who can help?

I believe the OP is trying to export those settings
I think so too, but even without any special export settings will the EXIF tags with the camera settings be included with any JPEG version. It is not necessary to include title and location. The JPEG will include the EXIF., as can be seen in Preview.
I thought s/he might want to send a pDF with the written values as well, just in case the instructor could not read the EXIF.

  • Is it possible to change 'camera data' info?

I think I know the answer, but:
    I'm using a favourite 'framing template' in which I open a new image, copy and paste into the framing template which has had many automations run for watermark, signature, naming, etc., and then when I post to Flickr for instance;
It shows dates of Sept 2009 and using a Nikon D50--both of which are 'old news' now.
I did a 'File Info' investigation and the camera data looks like it cannot change and that's the metadata with the camera make and date, attached seemingly (and sensibly) to my framing template psd document.
Any way to change this or am I doomed to have to run scripts every time I wish to frame something and watermark, etc?
    Thanks!!!

A blunt method could be to create a identically sized new document in the same color space and shift-drag all Layers over and over-save the template file with that.
Any way to change this or am I doomed to have to run scripts every time I wish to frame something and watermark, etc?
    I don’t follow.
Scripting can make many complex operations (including watermarking, saving various downsized copies etc.) one-click tasks, so I don’t see that as a disadvantage in and of itself.

  • Lost Camera Raw Info Displayed in MetaData Panel.

I have lost all the CR preferences that I checked of in the Metadata Preferences in Bridge Preferences.
The "Camera Raw" arrow shows it is open and it displays the CR filename but nothing else even though the boxes are checked.
Any hints on what happened? Worked fine yesterday.

  • Composite Info help

Hi, I hope this is the forum for this question. I've been to dpreview, dgrin and been searching online but not able to find what i'm looking for. I'm trying to create an image like the one attached (but maybe not as risque). My question is how did the photographer get them to touch/overlap? I've been looking everywhere (and, no, the photographer is not giving up his secrets) and cannot find a tutorial to follow. Will anyone here have an idea? I know how to create clones, but to actually get "them" to touch is baffling me.
Thanks so much any help is appreciated,
    Stacey

    They might just be twins.
Otherwise it must be just some accurate masking.

  • File info camera data1

    Hello,
I am using CS3 and win XP. Camera is Nikon D300.
When I try to display the camera data to see the shutter speed and aperture value fields are blank. Any ideas why?
    Thanks,
    Steve.

    Customize your Metadata overlays:
Click the baggage label icon below the Browser.
Make sure, "Show Metadata" is enabled.
Click "Edit" to enable the metadata labels you want to see.
Camera file info missing from Browser
I am not sure, which metadata tag you mean? The camera model, make, lens, or the filename?

  • Direct Ingest from cards in-camera feature needed

As has been noted in another thread, Prelude can NOT "see" the files on cards in a camera connected to a computer. So you have to take the card out of the camera and put it into a card-reader attached to the computer before you can ingest the files. Strange behavior, as of course ... as noted in the other thread ... Bridge can see and copy files from a camera tethered to the computer. The two programs share many analoguous feature-sets between them for similar use with different file types, but it is very odd this one was left out of Prelude.
Especially think of the way many of us use camera rigs that enclose dslr/mft/compact video cameras these days: you have to break down the rig OR take the camera out of it to get to the card-slots on the camera. DEUCED un-handy when you may very well be able to have the camera tethered to a computer while shooting.
So I sent the following wish-form request over to Adobe ...
    Neil
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Allow the Ingestion screen to see camera files in cameras tethered to the computer.
I'd like to be able to connect my cameras to the computer, and have Prelude's "Ingest" operation be able to "see" those files and ingest them just as if they were in a card-reader or on the computer's hard-drives.
It would save time in especially field-work situations and allow for quicker loading/viewing of the files when working in a tethered situation whether remote or in-studio. We wouldn't have to break-down a camera in a rig JUST to get the card out and load a file or two into a laptop for checking them.
Currently, many field-rigs for DSLR's, Micro-Four Thirds and such cameras cover the card-access slots of the cameras. We have to either take apart the rig or take the camera off the rig to get the card out to load the files into Prelude.
Bridge can already do this, why can't Prelude?

  • Unable to import video frompanasonic VDR-D105 DVD video camera to imovie HD

Trying to import my video from my dvd camera but imovie can not find camera. When I connect the firewire the camera locates DVD player software and allows me to play it on my computer, but not able to import to imovie. DVD Player allows my to clip my video but does not allow me to transfer of save it on my computer.
If I'm unable to import, Is there a work around to get my video in imovie, say quicktime?
I am using imovie HD 6.0.3.

    Hi S
    1. DVD-Cameras are for playback - not to be edited from.
iMovie, FinalCut Express and Pro works with miniDV tape Cameras
This course DVD and hard disk Cameras compact info to medium BUT in
a destructive way. You can't get full quality back to be edited.
miniDV also compacts to tape BUT Non-destructive = full quality to Mac.
    2. Does Your Camera really have FireWire. Most probably You are using
the USB-cable that was delivered with Your Camera. FW is buy extra.
Best solution - though sour. Change Camera
If this isn't an option You'll have to back convert to streaming DV that iMovie
    and FCE/P understands.
    - Converting programs like may be:
MPEG Streamclip converts from mpeg-1 to whatever you like (within reason).
    QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component
    or
via analog out on Camera via an A/D-box to FW to Mac.
Non is a good way though.

  • Hi..can I use the iPad2 camera as a webcam in msn messenger please

Can I use the iPad 2 camera in man messenger as a webcam please

Which Msn Messenger app are you using? There are several in the app store. And does it support the iPad's camera? Info on the apps page should state that clearly if it does.

  • Everytime I open Photoshop Elements V13 I get the message that an update to V13.1 and Camera Raw 8.7.1 is available. However when clicking on update now or after exiting it never updates. Also there is no updates shown for V13 on the website.

Is this a false message, or is there an update available? If so How do I update my version?

    Hi,
It is not a false message, those updates are available. (I have overlaid the camera raw info here)
If you load the editor, when you get told about the updates, and you click on Update, it may take a moment to get going.
If you are on a Windows system, you may find that there is a User Access Control request icon flashing on your taskbar. I'm not sure about MAC systems.

  • Installed lightroom 5. Downloaded and installed update 5.7. Camera Calibration Question.

Working with both Canon (6D) and Fuji (X-T1) RAW images. Can not locate any camera calibration info for either camera's raw files. Nothing listed in the camera raw folder for any camera.
Everything I have read seems to tell me that there would / should be some information for one or both of my cameras.

It really isn't clear what you are asking. If you are looking for the profiles for your cameras you would go to the calibration tab in the develop module and click to choose from different profiles. Profiles will only be available for raw files, including DNG files.

  • TRANSFER PHOTOS FROM CAMERA TO IPOD VIDEO

Does anyone know if there is a device that is compatible with iPod 80gb Video, to enable the use of the iPod Video as a hard drive to capture photos (files) directly from the camera. I have a Sony A100 DSLR. Going on a trip and would like to use the disk space available on my iPod. Belkin has one that is only for 3rd Generation iPods.

I'm having a similar issue. You can find compatible cameras and info http://www.apple.com/ipod/compatibility/cameraconnector.html/
and check the online manual for your iPod. Section 4
You might have to contact Sony to see if it's compatible. I bought a connector (from the Apple Store) iPod to USB that connects with my camera's dock (I have a Casio Exilim 850) but I can't get it to work with either of my two card readers, even though it says in the manual that it will. If you know which card readers are compatible PLEASE let me know.
    Good luck

  • Lens Correction won't list my camera and lens

Why won't the Lens Correction filter recognize my camera and lens, which is shown in the metadata below the correction window?  I had been using the venerable Canon 5D Mk II and now the Mk III.  For images taken with the III it doesn't even list Canon in the Camera dropdown -- too new?  Even with the II, I had to choose the camera manually and then choose the lens from a very tedious list, and had no indication if it was using the focal length in the case of a zoom, or the aperture.
I do strongly prefer to do this correction in Camera Raw or Lightroom, and realize it needs to be done on an uncropped image to be accurate.  I'm probably missing something, but why even present it as an auto correction if it can't use the metadata?  Why not just limit it to the manual correction?

Lens Correction within Photoshop - CS5 E and CS6 E- Shows camera/lens info for the 5DMkIII in the lower left hand corner,  but nothing in the drop down menu.
    CS5:
    CS6:
But with both CS5 E and CS6E,  it's the reverse here. Bottom left corner doens't show camera information, but I can select it manually from the drop down list. Also, I can select the other items just about the drop down menus list.
    CS5
    CS6
Sorry for appearing to post duplicate images, but they aren't. It's screen captures from both CS5 Extended and CS6 Extended.
Anything from Canon 7D and earlier (including most of the Canon Powershots, but not the G1X), I get all the options in the drop down menus on the right. Canon 5DMkIII and Olyumpus OMD EM5, nothing.
    I hope that's documented enough.
