In Camera raw PSCS5 lens profile for AF-S Nikkor 24 - 85mm f3.5 - 4.5 G is not listed

In Camera Raw Photoshop CS5 lens profile list. The lens AF-S Nikkor 24mm - 85mm f3.5 - 4.5 is not included

There are some lenses that are not that popular, so no profile has been created.  You can create your own profile:

  • Lightroom 5.3: Lens Profile for AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G (Nikon D80) not in dropdown menu?

A few questions using Lightroom 5.3:
    1. Under the Lens Corrections tab in the Develop module, the  Lens Profile for AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G (Nikon D80) is not in the dropdown menu.  How do I download the profile or enter it manually?
    2. I am using RAW, but I do have many old images taken as JPG's that I am editing.  Does that make a difference as to which profile you would use?
    3. If it is set to 'Default' or 'Auto' is Lightroom automatically detecting which lens I am using?  I'm new at this.

  • Camera RAW v7.3:Lens Profile for Nikkor DX 17-55mm

    Hi,
LR v4.3 correctly reads from NEF the lens Metadata like: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED. This lens profile is properly assigned to the corresponding NEF file.
Still in LR when converting the same image (via export dialog) to TIF, again this lens profile is used and reflected in the TIF-output (including metadata). So far so good.
When converting the same image in Nikon Capture NX2 of course the lens profile (as set in LR) is NOT reflected in the TIF-output. This (should) can be taken care of by enabling a lens profile correction in LR (after import TIF into LR).
The thing is that LR suggests to apply a profile for lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G IF-ED. This profile is probably not the same as for the 17-55mm lens.
Unfortunately a profile for the Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED is not listed in the selection options.
    Question is:
    How can I best obtain a proper profile for the lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED ?
I find it strange that Camera RAW v7.3 has the proper lens profile for the NEF but suggest another profile for the TIF version of the same file. Apparently the profile is available for NEF but not for the TIF.
    How comes?
Would appreciate to receive some reasoning and possible solutions.
    Thanks, Hans.

    My findings:
The lens profile in ACR is for RAW files.
For converted files (TIF, JPG, etc.) a different lens profile applies.
Reason(s): The metadata of the TIF-file is not specific enough about lens profiles. (Lens profiles would need to be embedded - they are not).
For example: Has the TIF-file been converted from RAW using a profile or not? If so, the specific name of the lens profile and it's physical location would be needed.
Meanwhile it makes sense for me that this part is left to the user.
The Adobe LensProfile Creator allows to produce a suitable profile for specific needs.
For many popular lenses there is a non-RAW lensprofile (for TIF, JPG etc.) available that might be applied by the user.
Thanks 'Geoff the kiwi' you lead me onto the right path to find the answers to my questions.

  • Camera Raw RC 8.6 does not automatically locate the lens profile for the new Canon 16-35mm f4 lens.  The profile is in RC 8.6

I have loaded Camera Raw RC 8.6.  It can not automatically locate the new Canon 16-35mm f4 lens, although the lens profile can be manually found.

    Hi
I forgot to answer one question.
When I have a file from the Canon 16-35mm f4 lens in Camera Raw and go to
Lens Correction and check the box Enable Lens Profile Corrections, when I
select  the model in the first box as Canon, it picks the wrong 16-35mm lens.
It  picks the f2.8.  I hope that you can get this fixed in Raw 8.6.  It is
a major headache for the user of this new lens.

  • Can I obtain a Camera Raw lens profile for my Fujifilm X100S?

Can I obtain a Camera Raw lens profile for my Fujifilm X100S?

The Fuji X100S uses built-in lens profile supplied in the raw files, themselves, so Adobe applies the profile automatically and it cannot be turned off.
There is no indication of the profile being applied in Lightroom but the recent versions of the Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop will indicate that a built-in profile is being used:

  • Is there a lens profile for Samyang 14mm and Canon 5D2 ?

    Hi !
I'm thinking about buying a new Samyang / Rokinon / Bower etc 14mm wide angle full frame lens.
However, this lens has bad moustache distortion on stills images - not good for architecture.
Is there an Adobe lens profile for Adobe Camera Raw (Photoshop CS6 Bridge) for full frame Canon 5D2 / 3 or 1Ds 3 etc ?
It's needed for Mac - don't know if there is any difference.
Advice before I buy would be much appreciated ...

Yay that's great news ... and thanks for such a speedy reply.
Didn't know about the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader ... so have just downloaded it for Mac and found the lens profile.
Appreciate your help ... it'll hopefully be great for correcting the distorion i need.

  • Lens profile for Sony A900 carl zeiss vario sonnar 24 - 70 zoom?

Is there a lens profile for the Sony A900 Carl Zeiss vario sonnar 24 - 70 zoom lens in Photoshop CS5 camera RAW? I have the latest update, the Sony is an old camera now and the CZ zoom is similarly old, beautiful thing to use but doesnt seem to be supported in camera RAW profiles or lens correction filter in CS5. I'm about to use RAW to process around 10 sets of 5 exposures to create files for HDR and want to syncronise the correction to each group of images before I begin to process them, after HDR process I intend to create a pano out of them so its imporrtant to get the lens correction done right at the start and applied identically to each image. Thing is that if I look in the Sony profile theres only a few lenses but no Carl Zeiss, if I look in Carl Zeiss it doesnt list the Sonnar 24 - 70.
    Any solutions?

It appears  a lens profile is available for this lens using the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader. The profile does not have to be created with your camera model, just a model with the same crop factor or smaller camera sensor. This one is for a 1.5 crop factor APS-C sensor size.
The 24-70mm is available as well for a 1.0 Crop camera, which will also work with a 1.5 crop body.

  • Is there a lens profile for Canon EF100-400mm/4.5-5.6L IS II USM for Lightroom 5 ?

I have Lightroom 5.7 and Camera RAW 8.8 (Via DNG converter 8.8) in Mac OS X 10.10.2.
According to Adobe documentation there lens profile for EF100-400mm/4.5-5.6L IS II USM should be provided by Camera Raw8.8.
However, I cannot not find lens profile correction for this lens from Lightroom 5.7. Does anyone know howto enable lens profile for this lens ?

  • Using Lens profiles for Nikon D800 in Lightroom 3.6

When I use Lightroom 3.6 with pictures from Nikon D800, the lens profile for the Mikro Nikor 60 mm lens is not in the list of coice. However, when the picture is from a Nikon D5000, the same lens appears in the list. So, a lens profile exists, but is not open for pictures from the D800. How can I solve this problem? The same is true for the 18-200 mm lens, which however is not suited for the D800 due to heavy vignetting at wide angle, and with the 70-300 mm, which gives good results.

The D5000 is a crop sensor. The D800 is a Full-Frame sensor.  The Profile for D5000 cannot be "scaled" for a full-frame sensor: thus, it cannot be used.
Every lens has multipe profiles: 1 for Raw and 1 for Jpeg in each sensor size.  If one has not been created for your particular lens, camera a file format you have three options.
1: Download the Adobe Lens Profile tool from Adobe Labs and create on yourself. It isn't hard but it is time consuming.
2: Part of the Adobe Lens Profile tool is a Lens Profile Downloader where you can gain access to a community of people who have shared their lens profiles.
3: Wait for Adobe to include it in a dot release of Lightroom.
I checked and I did see the profile for your 60MM available via the downloader.

  • Lens profile for Leica 24mm f/2.8 Elmarit

I'm looking for a lens profile for the Leica 24mm f/2.8 Elmarit lens. I see that Adobe doesn't have one, but if anyone has made one, or can give me some suggested corrections, would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    William

Adobe probably doesn’t have one because I believe this is a manual lens.
A lens profile is a file that contains a series of corrections that are matched to various combinations of: focal-length, aperture and focus distance.  This lens is fixed focal length, so that’s 1 of 3 parameters that are known, but unless the raws from the camera contain aperture and focus-distance data then a lens profile isn’t very precise and the profile matching can’t take place automatically.
If you want you can try making your own profiles using the Adobe Lens Profile Creator—search Adobe.com for the program, and see if you can get them to work.  Besides the program you’ll want to print out the checkboard calibration target at a known size on a laser printer.
Start by shooting the series of images of the target for just one focus distance and aperture and see if that profile works.  If so, then do some more for various apertures and focus-distances.  If the info is not stored in the raw files then you’ll want to make a series of profiles and match them manually, yourself after recording what the aperture and focus distance were.  If your camera is one that records an aperture value but it is just a guess based on a front-facing photocell on the camera body, then this could be wildly wrong so the corrections may not be that close.

In the list, on web-page I can find this lenses (Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS), but I can't download it, because Adobe Lens Profile Downloader doesn't see this lenses.
Now in my Lightroom 5.7 I have only (for RAW images):

    In conclusion:
    - JPG images are corrected in camera
    - SRW images have built profile
    - the information in the list https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
is little misleading because suggests there is a profile for Samsung 16-50 lenses
I tried to make a 3 profiles in a Adobe Lens Profile Creator 1.0.4 for 16mm, 26mm and 50mm (but it was very amateur work, so I don't guarantee the quality)
