In camera settings 'Save to Media Card' is ghosted..

I have the media card inside the phone, it is formatted and recognized but when I go to camera settings I do not have the ability to "Save Pictures to Media Card" - the slider on/off is there but I can not move it to turn it on.
Does anyone know how to set this?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Try removing the SD card and reinserting, and at the same time, remove the battery and reinsert.
Then, check that setting again.

  • Saving to media card

Hi there, After taking a picture it tells me my phone is full (Cannot find the images) and then says save to media card...but how do i do this?  please help anyone..lol  thanks  bb curve current version

To save pictures to the media card, open the camera application and then press the BB Menu button.  Select Options and you can change where your pictures are saved to from here.
Good luck and I hope that helps!

  • Smart Media Card

Is there anyway that I can use a Smart Media Card with a PB 1.67?
    Any adaptors out there?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kev

    Hi Kevin:
Is there anyway that I can use a Smart Media Card with a PB 1.67?
    Any adaptors out there?
When you say "use a Smart Media Card," what do you mean exactly?
If you mean, for instance, take pictures with your camera, take the Smart Media Card out of it and hoot it up to your PB to download the pix, then sure, there are lots of readers out there. Here's a cheap example that happens to use a USB connection. There are also, I'm pretty sure, readers that hook up to your PB via a PC Card adapter.
Is this what you had in mind, or were you thinking of something different?

  • Camera settings on Blackberry Q10

    Hello,
I recenlty bought a Q10, and have just discovered all the pictures I have recently taken are not on the media card but on the phone only.
Having find some instructions on the interenet about to save on media card, I have the following problem:
The option of 'Save on Media Card' Pictures and videos can be saved to a media card, if available.
This option will not allow me to turn on or off, so how do I transfer my new pictures to my media card in my Q10?
    Anyone have any ideas?

If the option appears to not be there to save your pictures to the media card, then I'd suggest the media card may not be formatted.  Take a look and see if you can browse the media card.
Also, when you connect your Q10 to a PC or Mac, provided you've enabled your storage options both the user accessible shared memory on the device as well as your media card should mount as external drives.  You could transfer the files from internal memory to the media card that way.

  • Camera, bluetooth, media card and more functions are disabled on my 8320 device

    Hello.
I've some problems with my BB device which was a gift from a friend so I always see "Administrator has disabled the camera", "Media card", "Bluetooth"... Would you please show me how to solve this?
    BB OS 4.5.0.188 // PF 2.7.0.110.

    Hello,
    Several things...firstly...
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
And next, due to the "Administrator" restriction message you received, I suspect there is a latent IT Policy on this device...you can check via this:
KB30076 How to check for an IT Policy on a BlackBerry smartphone
If such is there, then you will need to insert into the steps in KB05099 another step where you remove the IT Policy, which is done via this procedure:
KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software
If you perform a backup/restore in conjunction with this, be sure that you do not do a wholesale restore...instead only restore those databases you require (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and specifically avoid restoring any databases that have anything to do with IT Policy, Enterprise, Service Books, etc. If you restore those, you will restore the problematic IT Policy, and you'll be right back where you started.
Good luck and let us know!

  • How can I move pictures from my media card from my SLR camera        to my IPAD

How can I move pictures from my media card from my SLR camera to my IPAD2 without my iMac?

The Camera Connection Kit only accepts SD cards. Does your SLR use an SD card?

  • Media Card Settings

This is kind of a wierd question, and I've searched for an answer with no luck.  Previously on my phone, under the pictures the two options at the top were for the Cache and the Media Card which upon selecting the Media Card, it would let you view the folders within it.  Now, for some reason, and I'm not sure what I've done...all of the subfolders within the Media Card are in that top list automatically.  I want it to switch back so that the top only displays Media Card, instead of the subfolders within it.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!  Thank you.
    Justin
    8330 (Alltel)

I think I understand (not that I know why it matters)... BUT,
the next time you leave your Media Card subfolders, try not to exit until you have navigated upwards to the Media Card main folder.
See if that works and when you return does it return to the Media Card, rather than its subfolders.
    If not, I don't know...

  • Media card and phone memory

Hi!  How do I assign certain files (music; photos) etc to go directly to media card and not the phone memory...

    Check the app settings.
For photos, start the camera app and swipe down from the top screen to select the ‘Settings’ option. Then turn on ‘Save Pictures on Media Card’.

  • Panasonic HDC-SD100 media card unable to capture on Final Cut Express 4

No problems at all with transfer to i-movie but just purchased final cut express 4 and problems with capturing from the media card. Signal system on camera is 1080/50i. Have tried setting HD and 1080/50i in the easy set up but no joy. Have tried log and transfer and see clips but on transfer message states no data. Can anyone help with the settings please?
    Many thanks in advance

    Welcome to the forum!
There are many things that could cause this, and almost all have been discussed.
    Some things to try:
    • In the Log and Transfer window, click the preferences button (the gear in the upper right). Make sure audio is set to *Plain Stereo*
    • Also in that preferences window, click the button to *Clear the Cache*
Also, what drive are you using to capture to (internal or external)? How is it formatted, and how much space is left on that drive?

  • Media card use

I think I set up my media card correctly so that all photos (and any other data) reside there.
    How can I verify that?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

For pictures: Look at your Camera > Menu > Options > scroll to the bottom, and you should see your Save to: Make sure that says Media Card.

  • Blackberry Bold Media Card Backup

I'm new to the Blackberry (Bold 9650), so I might be missing what I've been looking for.  Most of the time, when I start, and particularly reboot my device, it always comes up with the message saying that the new media card has errors and asks if I want to correct the errors.  Then it asks me if I want to save lost clusters.
A service tech told me to back up my data card to the computer and then reformat my card.
    Questions:
    1.     Is the data card and the media card the same?
    2.     Will all data, including video and pictures be saved?
    3.     How do I save it to the computer?
    4.     This is a brand new phone with card.  Why is it damaged?
Thank you for any advice and help you can give.

    Questions:
    1.     Is the data card and the media card the same? Yes, the two names are referring to the same thing.
    2.     Will all data, including video and pictures be saved? That depends on how much damage there is to the card, if there is any.  Correct errors, save lost clusters....sounds like a bad card.  Data may or may not be recoverable, and all you can do is try.
    3.     How do I save it to the computer? You'll need a slot on your computer or a card reader, and if it is a micro SD, you'll need an adapter to fit it into the computer slot or card reader.  My micro SD came with an adapter - you can find them at places like Office Max, Staples, Best Buy, etc.  Put the card in the slot and read it like any other drive - copy everything on the card to a folder on your computer.  Then you can reformat the card, "fix" any errors, and try to recopy the information back to the card.  Me?  I'd spend another $10 and get a new card.
    4.     This is a brand new phone with card.  Why is it damaged?   It happens. The cards are so tiny, and delicate, they get damaged easily.  If the phopne came with the card already installed, it may be under warranty and you can get it replaced at the store where you got the phone.  Do the backup of all your information on the card, then take it in and see if they will replace the card.
Thank you for any advice and help you can give.

  • No memory even though I have a media card

I only have about 20 pics on my phone (saved on media card) & it says I have no room for more pictures. I have no idea what is taking up all my memory space, or where to look in the phone to find out. Also- I had a couple of short videos & they just disappeared.

Hi 1132christy and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
What size media card do you currently have in your BlackBerry smartphone? Can you verify that your pictures are set to save on your media card? From the Camera, press the menu button and chosoe Options to see the option.
    Thanks.

  • Pictures won't save to SD card

I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to save the pictures I take on my Incredible on the SD card.  It is set to save them there from the camera settings, but they aren't.  I can see all of my older pictures that were already on my SD card, but anything I take with the Incredible gets saved in the "camera shots" folder.  When I plugged the Incredible into the computer, I could see the pictures that were already on the SD card, but non of the new pictures in the "camera shots" folder are there.  I feel like I'm missing something, because as far as I know, it is set to save to the SD card.  Even downloading the Asrto app didn't help.  That doesn't even see the pictures saved in "camera shots".  Help would be greatly appreciated.  I haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem yet that has fixed it.

I tried really hard to solve this problem after losing a couple of important moments to the droid x blackhole.
The solution that worked for me has three steps.  1) First, backup everything in the SD card/dcim folder.  2) Then subsequently delete all folders under the dcim folder while keeping the dcim folder there.   This was a little tricky because of the folder permissions.  But after a couple iterations of trying to delete the items using the PC and using Astro File Manager, I was able to remove everything.  3)  Clear the cache for the gallery and camera applications.  To do this, go to the home screen, press the settings button (the one to the left of the home button), then go "Settings", "Applications", "Manage Applications", "All" tab on the top of screen, then go to Camera and press "clear data".  Do the same thing for the Gallery app.
After this, your camera should work.  My theory is that sometimes files become corrupt or have unexpected permissions in the dcim folder.  As a result, the images database does not properly account for all the files in the directory.  By clearing everything out and starting with a new database cache, the camera and gallery should work in harmony once again.

  • Somebody please help me- Media card storage NOT SYNCING WITH APPS

I really need help with this problem, im very frustrated, i called Blackberry Tech Support who sent me to Rogers, I called Rogers who sent me back to Blackberry, I then go transferred back to Rogers where i was told i had to pay an expert for my question and problem so i hung up the phone.
This all started when i downloaded the software update (10.1) on june 15th, my phone will not recognize the media card as it's default storage and my music and photos will not sync with the apps on my phone (camera, music for example).I've deleted everything and set my phone to factory settings and it's still screwed up. I read on some forums about android apps messing with folders in the device storage and when the phone see's "android" everything gets saved there. I do see the folder on my phone still and it won't let me delete it. iT says permission denied need permission from Unix. whatever the hell that means.
When i click on Music for example, it will say "indexing your media card, files will appear shortly" anddddd it neverrrrr comes. Ive swapped media cards and its the same problem. I can only access my media card through the app "files" and then you can switch to media card in that app, unfortunately its not organized to find things in an easy matter. i have hundreds of photos with no thumbnail pictures, i have thousands of songs but can only see a list of 10, it really sucks, i want my phone back LOL
Is there anyone out there that can help me please, I know i'm not the only one with this problem, there are multiple people posting similar problems on other forums and getting no answers. SUCKS

If I were in your situation, I'd put the SD card in a Card Reader (or SD Card Adapter) and open it up on the computer and COPY the files into a folder on the computer so at least everything is backed-up. Then full format the card on the computer prior to formatting it again on the device. With the newly formatted card in the device I'd enter some similar media (of similar types as to what is not being recognised) via the conventional route onto the phone. Once the appropriate folders have been created and your 'test media' are appearing normally on your device, I'd place the card back in the computer, open up your saved memory card copy as well as the actual SD in separate windows and try dragging and dropping the files (or one or two test files) into their appropriate folders - (the ones your new OS has deemed correct). You absolutely don't want to loose your stuff so back everything up. As I see it, you have a file structure created by a different operating system and you can only work with the new one which you now have. The Android folder is meant to be there, which is why you shouldn't try deleting it.
On your computer you should at least see thumbnails so it has to be easier to see what you are working with.
    Good luck (and patience)!
Edit: Sorry, I should have said that I think you have items put in folders created by your previous software version and that your current one doesn't know how to deal with them.

  • Curve 8530 and photos without media card?

An acquaintance replaced her Curve 8530 with a Droid and wants to get her photos off the Curve. She has never installed BB Desktop nor backed up her photos before. She claims she has no media card in it but I wonder if you can save photos without one and I'm not there to check out her phone myself right now.
So my 2 questions  are 1) If you do not add a micro-SD card, can you still take and store photos? (I wonder if she has a card and doesn't know it). And 2) If it is possible without a media card, how can she download her photos to her computer? (If it's a media card, I know what to do)
    TIA

To answer your questions, yes you can store photos without a media card.  There is a limited amount of memory available in the phone for media storage.  Without a media card, the easiest method would have been for her to email the photos to an account accessed on a PC.  Of course I am guessing that option is probably no longer available.
While I do not have a Curve 8530, I am guessing they came loaded with a micro SD card and your friend just doesn't realize it is there.  I also guess the new Droid has one that could be used to access the 8530 files if necessary.
