In case i forget my guided access passcode/password.. will i be able to retrieve it or is there a way around to access my phone normally again
I have been using guided access on my phone. Recently (i am a part of a testing (QA) team for a gaming company), I have come across a situation where another person has enabled the guided access with a passcode which now no one is aware of. And ever sice, we were unable to test on that device. So i wish to find out if there is anyway around this system of guided access. Or if there is any possible way to retrieve the already entered passcode.
It would do us a great favor if you guys could help us out.
I'm curious. What is it about this forum, focussed on a now-discontinued productivity application named "AppleWorks", that attracts so many questions like this one, totally unconnected with that application?
I'd appreciate an answer to that. Meantime, I've requested a transfer of the question to a more appropriate community.

Did you recently deauthorize a bunch of computers? You can only deauthorize all once year.

Using Ver 10.0 with Lotus Domino -
I have a parmeter setup to pull in ALL records or by a selected value. Many of the values are in CAPS but some are not (they are mixed). From everything I have researched it appears the user must enter the value exactly like it is on the database making it Case Sensitive ---> is there a way around this. I would like to have the user just enter the value regardless of caps or no caps also
they can enter the value of "All" (pulls in all records) or "XYZ" that only pulls in records with XYZ. Is it possible (without creating an additional parm) to give the user the capability to enter "ABC" and "XYZ" and pull in all records with the value of ABC or XYZ in the data field...

There are a couple options, along with the previous post.
First, and not sure if CR 10 has this as an option, but in XI, you can specify in the Options and Report Options to enable case-sensitivity.
Another option is to create a formula, such as UPPERCASE({table.field}) and reference the formula in the record selection. Such as ?parm = UpperCase({table.field})
I haven't had to deal with this lately, but it seems like it should work. -
In Pages capitalization doesn't work as described. One can start with lower case and change to upper, but changing from upper case to any of the other options doesn't work. Is there a way around this or is this just a glitch that needs fixing?
I think it does work as described, but the description is not very complete. Capitalization does not change any of the characters that you type; what it does is allow some of the lower case characters to display as capitals. If you copy the result and paste it as plain text, you'll see that the lower case characters are still there. It doesn't actually say anywhere that it can make capitals display as lower case, and it can't.
The obvious way around this is to actually type what you want.
The more powerful way is to install WordService from Devon Technologies which adds the functionality of Pages' capitalization menu as well a lot of other ones. WordService actually changes the character to the one displayed, and it works in most of the applications on your Mac. -
Hi, an hour ago I was about 75% progress downloading OS X Mountain Lion. I was using a wifi connection on an cafe. I turned off my wifi, forgetting to pause the downloading. Now I am re-downloading from start. Is there a way to retrieve that 75% progress? Thanks for help.
I wouldn't do that either. Just let it complete.
Pausing then disconnection you I net connection may drop the download again and then you may have to start over. -
Is there a way around to avoid the dutch iTunes store and to have access to the normal iTunes store?
I am living in the Netherlands and I can not access the normal iTunes store, I am redirected automatically to the Dutch iTunes store and I can not find what I want....is there a way around to avoid the dutch iTunes store??
There is no "normal itunes store". Each country has its own itunes store.
You can buy ONLY from the itunes store of your country of residence (as proven by the valid billing address on your credit card) and ONLY while inside the borders of that country. -
My phone will not turn on along with its mophie case, which I believe is due to water damage. When it did resppnd, it cited error 1608. Is there a way around this?

What do you do if you are in photos/pictures and set guided access on photos but forget your password?
I am fairly certain that the answer is the same as if you forgot a restrictions passcode.
Note: If you lose or forget a restriction passcode, you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it.

I can't access my iPhone backup (automatic encryption by iTunes, not through choice!) so am resigned to setting my iPhone 4 up as new phone, because I can't determine which of my passwords has been allocated. Has anyone else gone down this path and will all future backups also be encrypted unless Apple works out a way around this or I can work out my password?
You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password. They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary. The call should be free.

FWIW, I'd love to turn off passcodes *permanently* on my five iOS devices running iOS 8.1.
Is this possible anymore?
So far, iOS 8.1 insists (after awhile) that I *must* re-implement a passcode.
(FWIW, with iOS 7 I could turn off passcodes permanently, sending iPads to sales prospects secure in the knowledge they could easily operate the iPad over the course of several weeks, reviewing media devoted to their projects, and not finding themselves locked out.)

try the other option in wi-fi .. go to Settings >> Wi-fi >> under Choose a Network tap on "Other" .. type the name of your wi-fi router then tap on the "None" in Security... choose what type of encryption you're using (WPA/WEP etc) ..type in the security key ... then tap "Join""... let me know if its works for you...
