In-coming Audio Requests on MBA result in iChat quitting...

Recently the iChat application began quitting when I accept in-coming audio requests on my MBA. I do not run many applications at any one time and there does not seem to be a pattern between a particular application being open and the application stopping.
What would be the next logical trouble shooting step?
Thanks in Advance!

Please note that this is a duplicate post as I wanted insight from both MBA Users and iChat subject matter experts.

This may be related to a recent known issue with Nellymoser audio streams that have encoding errors.  The streaming server technology that TWC uses may produce malformed streams.
The Flash Player 18 beta that will land in the next day or two should resolve this (http://www.adobe.com/go/flashplayerbeta/).

If you have done all the Software Updates (they always seem to be updating the iChat program) and the problem is not resolved, I would call Applecare and see what they have to say about it. I did a search for you and have not found any problems with this in general posted here or other Mac websites.

  • Some of my contacts are recieving FaceTime or FaceTime audio requests that I am not making but are coming from the assigned iCloud email address that I do not use for FaceTime

A few of my contacts are recieving FaceTime or FaceTime audio requests generating from my iCloud email address. Additionally some of my contacts, including my husband are recieving texts that say they are generated from me (as their contact) but I am not texting nor do I have access to that particular thread and I am not recieving all of my iMessages from another one of my contacts, but she shows that they are sent. This all seems to be related to a single issue and Im starting to freak out that my apple account or a portion of it was hacked.
A few months ago my husband, out of town, initiated a FaceTime session and someone else answered it, and hung up. He then initiated it again and this time it came through and I answered it. At that time I changed my apple ID password. But now it seems like I am having similar if not escalating issues with this. What do I do?

  • Could not complete your request because the result would be too big - cs3

I exported 1.32 minute of quicktime movie file from FCP into photoshop CS3 about five weeks ago.  Since then I've been diligently working on each individual frame.   I've about 10 seconds left to the end of file.  Unfortunately, I turned off my mac two nights ago and I can no longer open the file. The message says "could not complete your request because the result would be too big".  The file size is 1.16 GB and saved as .psd.  I'm working on Mac OS X 10.5.8.  Any suggestion or solution would be appreciated.

Thanks c.pfaffenbichler!  I did the command-alt-shift and I also increased the RAM in Performance-Preferences from 1963 (69%)  to 1782 (90%).  I got the same message.  I've to admit that I'm not very technique about Photoshop.  I'll have to search for the answers to your other questions.  Such as the set up for the Scratch Discs, optimizing and System Maintenance?  Your assistant would still be appreciated.

How are You set for RAM and Scratch Discs?
Have You tried optimizing Your Performance-Preferences yet?
As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems You might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized settings like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences You’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program and/or starting as a new User.
Other than that System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, etc.) should not do any damage either.

Why do I get a message something like this following message in GarageBand? "Unexpected audio request...(Elastic audio)(-10024)"

    Hi lizz4321,
A digital ID is made up of three components; a private key, a corresponding public key, and some identifying information. The keys themselves are pretty straight forward, they are just big blobs of numbers used to encrypt and decrypt data. It's the identifying information that gets a bit tricky. On first look, the identifying information looks like plain text. You'll see your name and the issuer's name, a serial number, some dates for when the validity starts and ends. All pretty straight forward.
However, all of this information is actually formatted using something called ASN.1 (it stands for Abstract Syntax Notation) and then encoded using BER (Basic Encoding Rules). When someone creates a digital ID they can put just about anything in there. Per specifications (RFC 5280 if you wanted to look it up) some items are required, and others are optional. Each piece of information that goes into the public-key certificate (the PKC is basically the digital ID without the private key) is contained in an extension. These extensions are identified using an OID (Object ID) and conform to a specification which may either be public or confidential.
There are two possibilities in the case you are seeing. Either, some of the information that Acrobat knows about was formatted or encoded incorrectly, or, there is an optional entry that Acrobat doesn't understand how to decode. My guess is it's the latter possibility. There is a rule that states if an extension is marked as critical, and the application using the public-key certificate (in this case the application would be Acrobat), doesn't understand the extension, then the application is supposed to reject the certificate. It could be the former case (badly formatted data), but without seeing the certificate all I can do is guess.

  • AIR for Android: Streaming audio data won't stop unless I quit....

I write an application (AIR-Android with Flash Builder) which can play internet radio stations (streamed audio in mp3).
When I want to stop the stream like myChannel.stop() / mySound.close(); the sound is stopping but the stream is still loading (I can see it with a network monitor app).
Streaming audio data won't stop unless I quit the application or I switch my connection from WIFI to 3G or from 3G to WIFI.
I do not have this problem with Air for Mac and IOS.
How can I solve this problem ?
    Bernard

    Hi Chris,
I received a response from a certain Wang Zhe (from Adobe) about this bug.
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3070987
It should provide an example of his test that apparently it worked but I have still no answer from him.
Is it possible to contact him directly?

  • In FCP.  Trying to record voiceover.  Go to Window, Record Audio, see the record window and FCP quits in about 2 seconds.

Trying to record audio voiceover.  Go to Window, Select Record Audio, see the record window and FCP quits in about 2 seconds.  Can't get started??

I think you've got the right driver selected, otherwise it wouln't work at all. The single most obvious thing to ask you though (I'm sorry if this is too basic) is where you have the pan controls set to? To get each mic to record on a single channel, you'd have to have one panned hard left and the other panned hard right. If you leave them both panned dead centre, that's exactly what you get - both mics on both channels.

  • BP Details not coming properly in BP search results for editing

    Hi,
Can anyone help me to solve the below issue.
When i tried to search the BP for editing in IC WEB UI(7.0 ehp 1 version) by using the accounts & products, and a/c management work centers in IC AGENT business role  i am not getting the complete BP details in the search option like all the assignment blocks are not coming.
But when i tried to search the BP for editing by using the SERVICEPRO & SALESPRO business role i am able to get the full details of the BP.
Can anyone help me why the BP details are not coming for search criteria in IC AGENT Business role.Is ther any customizing settings i missed out.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Nagaraju

    Hi Nagaraju,
This would be because only restricted view is provided to IC Agent when compared other roles.
You can check the view configuration.

  • Website data keeps coming back after resetting mba

    os - yosemite 10.10
    safari - version 8 10600.1.25
I remove all website date using safari > preferences > privacy > remove all website data. However after resetting my MBA, i would restart safari and the website data would show thousands of sites storing website data even though i haven't opened any website. Any fix to this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Hi ..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab then select:  Ask websites not to track me
That may not work for all websites.
You can also try private browsing. From your Safari menu bar click File > New Private Window
The Firefox browser does a better job >  Download Firefox

  • How to hide request with no results in Dashboard?

    Hi Experts,
I have a dashboard with 3 requests in one section. The 3 requests are very similar to each other but need to be separated due to the way the metrics are calculated and the location of the datasource.
    DepartmentName Sales Month
    GroupName Sales Month
    TeamName Sales Month
There is no hierarchy and all three don't relate to each other.
The issue I am having is that if the first request (lets call it Department Request) doesn't have any data for that particular month, it still displays the column heading.
How can hide the request or the column headings if there is no data for that request?

    --Report Dropdown
--here is a detailed explanation from David using Guided navigation
    --http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3511377
--So, essentially, when you 1st report returns no data then you can hide that section, to itself.
    Thanks for the suggestion.
This won't work for my requirements because the user doesn't want to select the reports. They want to input the para maters and look at the requests that have the data. If a request doesn't return data, then they want it blank.
This dashboard will grown in terms of requests so the user doesn't want to select each report that they might need. Also, users will not know which request might or might not have data.

  • Is there a way to open an Service Request as a result of an order being shipped from OM?

Business requirement is when a new system shipment goes out to a customer we want to automatically generate an SR in Service for the installation of the system.  Ideally this SR would also have an installation task associated with it.
Are there any standard ways or maybe custom hooks where OM can talk to Teleservice to achieve this?
    thanks

'''Here is an update to my former response.'''
Here is a safe way to look at an email which you think is suspicious:
    * right click on the message and select 'Save As'
    * the file name will be the email subject followed by an extension of .eml
    * store it in a folder you can find easily, such as your Documents
    * using your file explorer, right click on the file name and open it with Notepad or a similar text editor (NOT Thunderbird!)
    * even though the format is not easy to read, you should be able to see who sent it to you, and also read the message text.
Since you are looking at the message in a text editor, there is no chance a link can activate something bad. I have used this method many times, and have found several spoofs of email names of my friends.

  • No audio/video/screen-sharing problem in iChat 4.0

I've been using iChat for years (since its original release) and since upgrading to 10.5 I can no longer audio or video chat; and the new screen-sharing option doesn't work either.
I connect to the net through an AirPort wireless network, which is connected to an ADSL Nation X-Modem/Router. I have a 2Mbps connection. As far as I know all the required ports are open on the router. My friend has the same ISP as me (Force9) and has made sure he has the same ports open on his router too.
I've adjusted my iChat settings to port 443 with no SSL and a Bandwidth limit of 500 Kbps in iChat; and QuickTime settings to 1.5 Mbps in System Preferences. I've read other discussions on this forum suggesting these options.
However, nothing seems to work. I can't even get audio and video to work across Bonjour on my home network any more. I'd be grateful for any help anyone can offer.

    Hi,
Technically it should not matter if you are using AIM or @Mac names.
However you have solved that bit.
The Screen Sharing part uses three ports.
Two randomly picked ports for the Screen Sharing and the same A/V port for the Audio component. As the Airport is normally set to Share An IP and does NAT on the fly so to speak this also should not be a problem
The ADSLNAtion site is a bit behind on it's Airport page
http://www.adslnation.com/support/knowledgebase/ht007.php as it shows the older Firmware pics.
    I found the new page
    http://www.adslnation.com/knowledgebase/xmodem+airport-11n.php
This says that the DNS server info in the Airport needs to be removed.
It is not clear if this is a variation for the X-Modem M3
Very few of the posts here http://forum.adslnation.com/viewforum.php?f=3 are after Leopard came out and nothing appears to be about iChat.
So it would somewhat depend if the Airport is Sharing and IP or is Static to the computer and Port Mapping used.

  • How do i do an audio chat with Googletalk users on iChat?

I just got Tiger OS with the new iChat and I was expecting to be able to do an audio chat with my friends who have Googletalk on their PCs. Unfortunately, the audio chat option is greyed out next to all of their names on my buddy list and I can only type chat with them. How do I fix this?
FYI, I already looked at some of the other posts and at the googletalk website, and I am already using a jabber account with the server as talk.google.com, my gmail ID, and the port set at 5223 as directed. My computer does have a built in microphone. What am i missing?

    Hi
This page still says nothing about Audio chats

Your WriteImage servlet needs to read the image file in from wherever it is (hard drive, database, whatever), then write it back out to the browser. To do that, first use the HTTPServletResponse object to send the appropriate headers, then call the getOutputStream() method to get an output stream to write the data to. This data will be sent to the browser which, if you've set the headers correctly, will display it as an image.
It's been a long time since I did this (we abandoned storing images in databases quite a long time ago), so I can't be more specific than that, but hopefully that'll be enough to get you going. If you run into any problems, reply and I'll see if I can help further.
