In Completed InDesign document - Text reflows automatically

We are one problem in InDesign file. We have completed composing a document in InDesign file. After re-open the same file to do some text correction, but while re-opening the line ending gets changed automatically in some paragraphs. Because of this, it takes more times to compare all pages in each round of corrections (both customer and internal correction). For your information please see below screenshot.

I suspect this a document you converted from an earlier version of InDesign. Each version uses a new text engine, and it's not unusual for line endings to change. The annoying part is that they don't change on conversion unless you touch the text frame for editing, and you don't always realize you've done it because the change may be on another page.
I prefer to export IDML from the previous version of InDesign and open that for conversion. All text will be recomposed on opening when you do that.

Strange document text in automatic posting

Hi Experts
We are using a standard reclassification on posting level 30 and it is working fine but when looking at the detail of the generated document we realized that the document text is filled with a strange string that makes no sense, example: 008B22B56E75C1DAEF3765B37EB508098D8A5012. This is an automatic posting so AFAIK the document text should be empty.

Illustrator image copy/paste onto the Indesign the text should automatically converted into image?

Is there options to get the image copy & paste into the Indesign, if i done manually the frames and lines stroke, colors, are coming fine, but the text object only converted the image. i want to edit text in indesign.
this is possible for scripting or manual?

You can copy/paste from Illy to ID by selecting the text with the type tool in Illy and then pasting it into ID. You will not be able to maintain the formatting. If you want to maintain the appearance the text will be converted to outlines.
If you need to get anything other than very simple objects from Illy to ID then you should save as AI and use the file > place command to place those objects as linked graphics into ID.
Your closing statement is irrelevant. Whether you like it or not, this is the way it is.

Every item I bring into InDesign is text wrapped automatically

Every photo I place, every text box I start, is already text wrapped. Somehow InD CS4 is automatically adding text wrap to every object. How do I shut this automated feature off? Many thanks in advance!

With nothing selected open the text wrap panel and turn it off. If that
doesn't do it, check your default object style.

I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace.

This is how I'd approach it - it captures a 'place' or 'paste' of a blob of text. It is not perfect - it will also 'fire' if you simply copy some text from one frame in the document to an empty frame, but I don't think that would be an issue in most cases.
Create a page item on the pasteboard; use the Active Page Item Developer palette to set the List of Subjects to * (just an asterisk), and the Event Filter to subjectModified* ('subjectModified' with an asterisk appended). Set the attached ExtendScript to the script shown below.
I've not tested this heavily - it's only a proof of concept...

Automatically place images within multiple InDesign documents

I work for a publishing company of agricultural trade magazines and work on few titles each month. We are trying to streamline our production procedures and previous company I worked for had a script they used to place images within text pages by searching for the file name, however there were some limitations with this script (it would only work within 1 InDesign document and only within 1 InDesign story at a time). The company I am with now breaks out each editorial story into separate InDesign files and we place image boxes when the display ads are going to go. For our purposes now, I am looking for a script that, once all of the image boxes were tagged with the image file names, could search between multiple InDesign documents in a folder and automatically place all the images for us. Is anything like this available or able to be created? If so, would it have the capacity to search between multiple InDesign documents and search the entire document for the image file names? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They were tagged using a program called Pathways created by a computer programmer the company used at the time. The issues that I was working on were annual Buyers' Guides so they were mainly just listings and inline graphics. The kinds of issues I work on now are monthly issue with various stories and no inline graphics, but display advertisements. And each story is created and laid out in a separate InDesign document. So I would need a script that can search an entire group of documents for file names and/or image boxes instead of just in one story in one document for inline graphics. (sorry if this is confusing).
I currently do not have a script to work from and am looking for something new that can be used to save use the time of placing every ad manually.

Automatic Hyperlinking of a 30,000 page InDesign Document

Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to best develop a system of automatic hyperlinking in an InDesign document (I know this is usually done small-scale and manually). This document will eventually be exported as an e-book or interactive PDF. Ideally, users would be able to click a link within the document and it would lead them to another link internally, further down in the document. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best incorporate a more technical program into InDesign, or how to go about this? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, is anyone aware of how to create this document so that updates that are added to the 30,000 pages can be automatically 'pushed' to the subscribers or readers Desktop?

You have facing pages, so you should set up your document as document with facing pages.
You should have done it with New document but you can change it with File > Document Setup.
You will have to change your master to 2 pages and to allow to shuffle the pages.
Shifting pages are shifted when you use the page tool. It can happen more easily with non facing pages.
Was there a specific reason, why you choose not to use facing pages at the first place?
With the page tool you can shift pages.

Is it possible to link text from Pages into an InDesign document [as you can with Google docs]?

In InDesign, you can get a plug-in [word flow] which allows you to link the text in a Google Docs document into an InDesign document, so that you can edit the text in Google Docs [on your computer/tablet etc] and it will update in the InDesign document. Additionally, if you edit the text in teh InDesign docuemnt, the Google Docs file is also updated.
Is there a plug-in for Pages? Or a way to do this [without ditching Pages and starting to use Google Docs]?

There are no plugins for Pages for iOS. Period.

Indesign 2014 Crashes when Text Reflows

We are having an interesting problem.
We have discovered a possible bug in CC 2014
We suspect the measurement of frame is creating an issue. If the frame is less than the text width and the reflown text does not accommodate within the available space of the frame (while the last page of text flows into next chapter opening page), then the file quits.
Anyone else having issues like above and has anyone seen a fix for this. Fix is obvious to make the frame wider.
But doesn't make for a very clean Indesign file this did not happen till we moved to CC 2014
We do rough pagination for our clients and they get the file back and insert art and other elements so they will get text reflow and crashing.

I’m combining several InDesign files into one PDF, with several hundred text links across the different sections, as well as within each. The cross-document (section) Text Anchor Hyperlinks work fine in my workspace - but when I change the file location, they are no longer active (other links, bookmarks remain intact).
How do I set up InDesign cross-document Text Anchor Hyperlinks so that when the files are moved, they remain active?

Text looking terrible in InDesign document...

I am running into an issue putting together a marketing report for my work. The small photo caption text (frutiger light size 8) looks terrible when I PDF it.
But in addition to it looking terrible when I pdf it, it also looks terrible in the InDesign document if I get too close to an image.
I have tried putting all the text on a separate layer that is on top of everything else (including anything that is a transparency).
The body text (which is frutiger regular size 9) looks totally fine.
I do have transparencies on my pages but I have to because my boss likes us to have drop shadows when we show sample document pages.
How can I fix this? The proposal document is going to be delivered digitally, so even if it prints ok that wont work because most likely it will only be viewed on screen.
These images show how the text changes depending on how close or far away I get.

Does it look bad in the PDF on screen only or also when printed on a high resolution device?
If the text is above all transparent objects than it is not a transparency flattening problem, although you did not tell us anything about your PDF export settings.
If it looks good on high resolution print but bad on screen only it might be an issue of the used font only. To be honest, on your screen shot I don't see the problem here what you mentioned. Could you link your problematic INDD and PDF here. Not the original file, it understnd that it is not possible for you, but a small file where you reconstruct this problem with a placeholder image and blind text, one page only to keep things small.

It wont answer your question, but you could have this problem too:
I have a problem in my current project where text frame having no text make the document report the usage of a font wich we dont want the project to use (times by exemple). The problem being that Indesign report usage of a font wich is in fact not applied to any text. Weird!
The easy fix is to identify those items (text frame class + no text) and reassign them as "unassigned".

They seem to be a lot of extra work, and I don't see what the additional benefit is. I have several hundred links to do. I would appreciate learning what the benefit is, as I don't mind the extra effort if it will deliver the desired results.
