In Contacts if I enter a birthday.

In Contacts if I enter a birthday it automatically registers that birthday in Calendar. Is there a way to also have Anniversaries saved in the Calendar? I do not want to have multiple contacts for the one person just so I can add their anniversary and just relabelling the anniversaries tab in Contacts does not trigger it to save the entry in iCal. I am using Mavericks. New MacBook Pro. Thanks.

Here is the work around I found for this issue, "contact's birthdays not showing up in calendar" consequently it is also the work around for "this calendar does not support participants & an inability to edit events in shared calendars.
I have set up a google docs account for free, search the web on how to do this. A paid google docs account will work also.
I linked the google docs account and then went back into "settings","Accounts","Add Account", "Advanced" (found at the bottom of the window), "CalDAV" and then entered the credentials for my google docs account again adding the server address
https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/<emailaddress>/events  where <emailaddress> is the Google email address
Then open up the calendar application and swipe down from the top and select "Manage". You'll want to find the active sync calendar (try adding a calendar event, the one that says "this calendar does not support participants") uncheck so that it doesn't show double entries in your calendar view.
Now you'll be able to see the contact's birthdays in the calendar and be able to add participants.
If you have any shared calendars say with your spouse, you'll likely have double entries in the calendar. one you'll be able to edit the events and one you won't be able to. Deselect the one you don't want to show.
This is more of a google issue than a Blackberry issue as it has to do with active sync no longer being supported for free accounts.
I hope this works for you.

  • Why when I enter a birthday in Contacts does it show up as different date on my iPad and iPhone 4?

I enter a birthday in Contacts on my MacBook Pro and it shows up correctly in iCloud but on my iPad and iPhone it showsa up as another date - either before or after the actual date???  Any clues?

    This worked for me:
Not sure if your problem is solved, if not try this which worked for me:
    (1) If your iPad/phone is syncing contacts with iCloud, turn it off. In Settings on your iPad/phone, Mail,Contacts,Calendars, Accounts, iCloud, turn off Contacts.
    (2) sync your iPad/phone to iTunes.
    (3) now select the ‘Info’ tab in iTunes for your iPad/iPhone. Ensure that ‘Sync Address Book Contacts’ is ticked. (You can revert to syncing with iCloud later, after this process is complete.)
    (4) scroll to the very bottom section of the Info tab. Where it says ‘Replace information on this iPad/iPhone’, select ‘Contacts’.
    (5) Sync again.
Now check Calendars on iPad/iPhone, this process ‘fixes’ the information of birth dates and they should now appear correctly.

  • Why is it when I enter a birthday date for a contact as the 12th of November 1993 that the birthday appears as the 11th of November and as the 19th birthday rather than the correct 20th?

Yoor post is very confusing. AOL's iPad magazine is called "Editions" and it's free. "The Daily" is put out by TheDailyHolding and is owned by Rupert Murdoch. You've already posted in another thread where the solution was given. Other people seem to have manged to get unsubscribed.
    Best of luck.

  • TS2755 When I click on a  IPhone number in contacts to send a message.  It keeps trying to send the message to the land line.  I deleted the whole contact and re-entered it.  But, still wants to send to the land line instead of the IPhone.

When I try to send messages to another IPhone.
    I go to contacts.
    Touch IPhone number.
    Type message.
    Hit send.
    Comes back to me.
"Can not send messages to land line"
Well I did not touch the land line number - I touched the IPhone number.
I have deleted the whole contact, and re-entered it.
I have turned the IPhone off and on.
Still I get this message on only two of my contacts.
    HELP

I can't delete my question, so I'll just say that you press on the type of number written in the box to the left of the box you typye the number into.  Dumb or what?

  • How to enter a birthday versus a birth date into iPhone contacts

    Hi,
I sync my contacts with Yahoo!. For many people in my contancts I know their birthday (for example, December 5th), but not their full birth date (for exmaple, December 5, 1975). The iPhone doesn't seem to have an option that lets me put the year in as unknown. I don't want to put in the incorrect year or a dummy value like 1900.
Is there a way around this? Is there a way to get this added to the iPhone feature list? It seems like this is a common situation and one that many calendar and contact programs support.
    Thanks,
    Don

  • Additional contact data not syncing: photos, birthday, spouse/children..

I'm using a 2nd gen Nano with iTunes 7.3.2 (Mac OS).
The iPod software version is 1.1.3, Windows formatted.
I'm syncing Address Book contacts (box is checked in the Contacts tab of iTunes) but additional & exisiting contact data in Address Book is missing on the iPod:
    e.g. photo, birthdays/anniversaries, spouse/children info, etc.
However the Notes field is synced okay.
The following post is relevant but also unsolved http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4587988&#4587988
And this one is kind of relevant too http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5012889&#5012889
    So:
    - Maybe the contacts photos are only for 5th Gen iPodders - see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302493 ? And if this is the case, is there a hack/fix for the Nano?
    - And in any case what about syncing the rest of the data?
Hope someone can resolve this (or simply come up with a definitive answer). Thanks.

I know that a windows formatted ipod would work on the mac. But why do you have it formated for a windows when you own a powerbook???
Yes, the contact photo is only for the 5th gen ipod and not the nano. No there is no hack to allow this to occur. And also realize any hack used on the ipod WILL void your warranty.
Regardless of your links (first link is for a 1st gen nano) do you own a 1st or 2nd gen nano???? You cannot sync the name of a spouse/child or any other name within a contact to the nano. I have tried this myself and cannot find any preferences or way of allowing this to occur. Just like I cannot sync my contact which has names and a second address to my nano.
Remember there is no hack for this to occur. If you wish for this feature to be present on the nano then please feedback at the link below.

  • Thousands of my contacts have the same incorrect birthday: "December 31,2"

I have thousands of contacts, and most of them have a corrupted Birthday field.  They all contain this wrong birthday "December 3, 2"
How can I make a bulk correction? I don't have time to change each one individually.
    Thanks!

    Sorry, I meant "December 31, 2"

  • HT1766 I backed up my I Phone contacts to I Cloud.  When I go to ICloud on my MAC, the contact list I see is the email contacts on my MAC.  How do I get the phone  contacts in order entered onto my MAC?

I backed up my I Phone contacts to ICloud.  When I go to ICloud contacts at ICloud.com on my Mac computer, the list is not as I saved it; it appears to be my contact list on my Mac computer.  How do I get my current IPhone contact list to show up.

  • How do I delete a card out of my contact list that was dropped in by Facebook (I assume).  It won't let me delete it in -edit -delete card.  It has Facebook logo on the card. I have the contact in my contact list that entered.  This one appeared.

How do I delete a card from my contact list that was added (I assume) by Facebook? I already have the contact in my contact list.  This card contains all Facebook information for this contact. When I click on Edit, the Facebook logo is by each entry.  It will not allow me to delete it by going to "edit" - "delete card".  Help.

I tried deleting the name in the list and it won't let me - doesn't highlight.  Same under the Edit tab - it won't hilight.  This card is not like the other cards where you can do that.  I believe the contact has a Facebook acct. and I do to.  I didn't - to my knowledge - add this card from there.  I don't know if that is possible.  Bugs me that  Facebook has control over my Contact List or so it seems.  I will see if Facebook can give me any clues.  Thank you.

  • TS3398 I have lost my contacts that were entered into my iphone in addition to those that are synced from my exchange account. Iphone is only showing email addresses, no contacts with phone numbers.

Two days ago my phone locked up and when I could access again, my contact list was only a few names and email addresses.  ALL phone numbers wiped from the phone.  I have been using google sync for three years to sync contact and calendar to gmail and then sync gmail to iphone, and it has been seemless.  I would think this was the problem, however the contacts and phone numbers that were added directly the phone are no longer on the phone either....which point to a phone problem.
I went home, to update but ended up having to "restore" from backup, which I did.  The contacts were visible for less than 24 hours, but then disappeared again the next day.  I have tried forums for google sync as that would solve a large amount of the contacts, but I still can't seem to find a solution for the other contacts added directly to the phone.
are there any new glitches/issues with the iOS 6 that cause this problem?
    phone is 3GS.
    thanks.

Do the numbers still exist in your google contacts?
Google recently terminated support for new configurations of gmail using Exchange Active Sync for unpaid accounts. In theory, existing configurations will continue to work, but there have been some problem reports.
I've seen several mentions of the problem you describe in the last few days and so far, they've gone unresolved as far as I can tell. The root cause may be in google's termination of AES support.
Facebook contact sync may also be a suspect.
