In Creative Suite 6 for MAC--why do I always have to insert my serial number?

Everytime I try Photoshop I have to enter my serial number--not so with the other apps--how can I avoid this?  The window says "Your Trial Has Expired" and asks me to join Creative Cloud which I don't want to do!  So I click on "License this software" and enter the serial number and go to Photoshop--but every time??????????  PLEASE NOTE THIS IS FOR MAC SOFTWARE--NOT WINDOWS.  I cannot navigate to c:\Program Files X(86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobePCD as suggested in an earlier reply.

Could you update your Photoshop to the latest version and then check.

  • Cross-Platform Adobe Creative Suite 4 For Mac From Windows

    Hello,
    I am having quite a unusual problem. The problem is that I have a copy of Adobe Creative Suite from my company that is meant for Windows, and it will not install on a mac. Does anyone know of a way to install a windows native Adobe Suite on a Mac platform? I have tried using a emulator called wine, but every time I get into the setup when the system is checking compatibility the entire thing is halted. I do not have access to any windows machine, and installing a Virtual Machine is out of the question. I also considered swapping the windows version of the software with the Adobe company, but then I would have to destroy the disk of my company. Any help on installing Adobe creative suite 4 meant for a Windows platform on a mac? Emulation etc?

    Hi, I have adobe creative suite 2 Design premium for mac and it's not working right now because i had to get my computer fixed and when I restored the application none of the adobe programs are running.  I still have the original disc but my cd drive is not working.  is there a way to download the suite online and then use my serial number to active it? 
    If anyone has an idea how to do that please help.  I know it's out dated but i can't afford to buy the new suite and this one still gets the job done.

    I purchased the Creative Suite Master Collection back in 2010 and have been running it on my macbook pro. However I've had to get a desktop to run more powerful media software.
    Is there any way that I can move my purchased software to use with Windows? I don't have thousands of dollars to re buy these products just to work on a different computer. I have the installation disks for mac, what can I do? Am I basically screwed?

    You need to upgrade to CS6 and make the platform switch or sign up for Creative Cloud.

    After a problem with photoshop cs6 (CTRL+T stopped the application with an error message and closed the window), we uninstall it.
    We can't download photoshop cs6 on the adobe site to re-install it.

    If you did not deactivate the software before uninstalling then you should remember to do that in the future should you decide to uninstall again.  If you contact Adobe support thru chat they can help with deactivating the original installation.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 in Creative Suite 3 for Mac OS abruptly quits

    Adobe Acrobat 8 opens OK but then abruptly quits and closes completely. InDesign and Photoshop in CS3 work without any problem so far. I downloaded CS3 from the Adobe Website. I even re-downloaded it and reinstalled Acrobat 8 but had the same results, abruptly quitting and closing completely. The same problem happened to a colleague who also downloaded CS3. He uses an Intel-based Mac. I use a G5.

    I keep multiple versions (6, 7 and 8 ) on at least one Mac because I'm a trainer. Sometimes on the forums or in class, someone is still using Acrobat 6, for example, and asks a question about it. Since my memory sometimes fails, it's handy to be able to open the earlier version to answer their questions. In particular, the Acrobat team has a tendency to put their features in a Mixmaster with every version moving them around. So where was the Overprint Preview feature in Acrobat 6. I'd have to open it to find it.
    Like Buko, except for printing, I've found no conflicts between versions. You really can only have one version of the Adobe PDF printer installed because they share some resources.

  • "Access denied" errors in my Adobe Creative Suite CS6 for windows.

    I have just recently had some errors occuring in my Creative Suite CS6 for windows with certain operations.
    I have had my suite since last year and it has only recently started having error problems.
    My Suite has full administrative permissions and I have reinstalled it twice.
    I have tried to fix my Photoshop and Illustrator errors by preference resets but no change.
    I have looked at similar errors in the support forums and have come to no fixes.
    This is what I have come across
    Photoshop CS6 "save for web" feature says "error, oparation could not be performed. Access denied".
    Adobe Bridge CS6 error occurs when I try to close it, if I keep clicking on it eventually works.
    My Illustrator CS6 error occurs when I try to close the program, the actual button to close the program does not function, I have to go to file and exit then it has to close itself by windows force closing.
    They a very odd and I can't understand why now. If it is not my Suite it might my computer.
    I am little afraid to test my other programs however I dont use those programs as frequently since these are my web tools of preference.
    Help would be much appreciated and I hope it is fixable.

    STEP 1:
    FOUND MY PROBLEM (or half of it.)
    I went into my computer and then program files.
    I found that EVERY SINGLE TIME I click any of the Adobe Applications that say (64 Bit) they give me that error message I showed you in an above post.
    STEP 2:
    I clicked Adobe in program files.
    STEP 3:
    I can SUCCESSFULLY open any of my Adobe Apps that are not (64 bit)
    It turns out all of my desktop shortcuts of my adobe apps were all coincidentally 64 bit ones that don't work.
    SO- in conclusion I think I have partly solved my problem.
    I replaced all of my app shortcuts with the normal program files and NOT the 64 bit ones. BUT- I am worried....aren't the 64 bit versions of ANY apps you buy important?
    I do feel worried since my WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL is a 64 bit OS. This would effect my programs correct?
    Feel free to use my story to help you solve other customers' stories. I would like my problem looked into, but I am only half as stressed now.

    I don't agree with that; some of these applications are very tightly integrated with a seamless cross-app workflow.
    Anyway: In itself, there's no particular reason to have the apps "synchronized". Requirements are different in the various apps, and my color settings are deliberately unsynchronized. But until you understand more about what the different color settings do, it's a simple safeguard against surprises.
    In Photoshop, working on RGB (or CMYK) raster image material, the all-important thing is to have color management policies set to "preserve embedded profiles". Any other setting is trouble waiting to happen. You may also want to work in a large space like ProPhoto to have maximum editing headroom.
    But as soon as you get into CMYK and/or vector territory with ID and Ai, you don't want that because it can lead to a number of other problems on press. For CMYK you'll want to ignore profiles and preserve numbers, then reassign the correct profile for output. Using ProPhoto for RGB vector is also totally pointless. Just mentioning this to put this into context.
    If you do want to synchronize, you do it in Bridge as station two said. But all it means is having the same settings in each app's color settings, and you can do that manually as well.
