In CS4 the Pencil tool does not maintain a Fill when drawing?

In Ai CS4, how can I get the Fill color to maintain its fill when I draw with the pencil tool? The Fill color disappears and defaults to No Fill every time I draw with the pencil tool therefore I’m unable to see what I’ve drawn. CS1 did not work this way as it retained any Fill or Stroke previously assigned.

Looks like two things have changed in CS4. Double click the Pencil tool and check the box that says Fill new pencil strokes. Then make a new rectangle filled with color you want and Option(Alt)-drag it to the top-left most box in the Graphic Styles panel to set a new default for this document. Finally in the Appearance panel flyout make sure New Art Has Basic Appearance is checked.

The pencil tool is not working correctly

I've been making my drawing with the pencil tool obviously. After I make a stroke, I continue it with the last anchor point. But sometimes when I do that, the previous stroke disappears completley. Why is that?

That's because Illustrator has got a pretty lame understanding about what should happen when you continue a path in certain angles while the Modify selected paths option is turned on inside the Pencil Tool options.
You can disable that option but I can imagine that this is not what you're really looking for.

The move tool does not rotate shapes ...

When trying to edit text added with the Add Text option, the hand tool does not select it.

I filled out a form that was not fillable using the Add Text option. Now I need to edit it and was advised to use the Hand Tool to select it. I tried this, and it does not select the text, I see the blue box but cannot put it around the text to edit or delete it. Any suggestions?

The eyedropper tool does not work with a hue saturation adjustment layer

I am using PS CC 2014, and the problem I am having is that when I want to use the eyedropper tool to adjust the colour range affected by a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, rather than selecting the colour in the Properties window for the adjustment layer, use of the eyedropper closes the properties window and changes the foreground colour in my palette.
Here's the real hitch... the same thing happened to me at school last night where a) the Mac's are older and b) CS6 is still used.
It's something with my user settings, to be sure, because the prof logged into his account on the Mac I was using in class to test it out, and it worked for him; we logged back into my account and it still did not work for mine.
Any ideas?

Indeed Trevor, that did solve the problem. Clearly it was something I changed... wish I knew what. But, I have a list of all the settings changes I made before, so I can figure it out by making one at a time then checking...

The lasso tool does not copy the fill?

I'm using the latest Illustrator and I can't seem to select the fill. When I have selected a group of objects and try to paste it, I get the shapes outlines and not the fill. It seems like it is only selecting the stroke but the objects have no strokes. Have you guys encountered this before?

In the first picture I selected the shape and in the second one I copy pasted the selection. The shapes are a result from a live trace, I don't know if that makes a difference.

The video button does not activate on itunes when i connect the 30GB ipod

I have a 30GB ipod. when i connect it to the computer and start itunes, and go to the "ipod" tab, and then "video", after that, none of the video buttons are active (such as "actomatically update all videos"; "do not update videos" etc.
I have the latest version of itunes and have also updated the software on the ipod.
Please help me.

That's because you must have the iPod under the Music tab set to either
1-automatically update songs and playlists or
2-automatically update selected playlists
for the video tab to be accessible.
Once you select auto update then go to the video tab and select auto update or playlist update for videos.

The history sidebar does not automatically come up when I start Firefox.

I always had the history sidebar set to appear when Firefox booted. Now I have to manually open it each time. Why?

Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.

Note: 
Deleting the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults. 
You can rename "localstore.rdf" to "localstore.rdf.sav" to test if that solves it. 
Then you can restore the customization by copying "localstore.rdf.sav" to "localstore.rdf" if it didn't work.

Control Center II on MSI H67ma-e35 (b3) does not maintain a preset

as announced in the title
on my mother board H67 (actually on the other mobo 1155 that I own I have yet to install it), the CC II does not maintain the Green Power Genie preset...
or, I imposed at 75% but the next reboot, it always returns to Auto mode ..
Bios is set active to 75% too,
and I do not understand why it does not align to the same value by software ..

I downloaded mavericks and the notification center does not work

When I do the three finger swipe to the left on the trackpad, the notification center does not show up and when I click on the manual (at the top right of the screen) It shows up with the messages and facebook thing but it wont allow me to click on them and when I look on the system preferences area of the notification center it doesn't have any options.

No, it doesn't. You have to swipe with two fingers. Start the swipe with your fingers off of the trackpad.

The arrow select tool does not marquee

The arrow select tool does not work properly. At times it marquees and some other times it doesn't.

Has it worked with Yosemite before?
Did you upgrade to Yosemite, then reinstall? That is the recommended way/order.
Especially if the tool has just stopped working, there may be some kind/level of corruption/disturbance, and you may try the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:

5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);

6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Just sounds the ding, alert, can still slightly navigate the program but can not use any other tools after clicking warp text. I just have to open task manager and close the program. not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe I just need to uninstall and re install. Having trouble finding out how to uninstall and reinstall because the program came pre installed on my desktop.

It actually sounds like the warp text window is opening off screen.
Resetting the photoshop elements 10 preferences should fix it.
*Press and hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after you start the launch of the photoshop elements 10 editor
*Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop elements setting file
*Press Yes
