In CS6, can I track movement (fixed camera) like I could in CS5

Hey there,
Just trying to track some text to a moving hand, filmed on a tripod so it's fixed view. I could do it in CS5 but I am now using CS6 and the 3D tracker only seems to want to track the environment, not movement within it.
Please help!

The old 2D tracker is still there. Just select it in the menu.

How can I text on my pc like I could with my android via mighty text

Gave up my android for an iphone and really miss being able to text from my pc like I could with the "mighty text" program for androids. Is there anything out there like that for iphone? I have searched hi and low and no luck. Is anything in the works? Huge time saver and really convenient.

You can only use this with other people who have mysms. Very limited and don't want to send out invites. Thanks though. If you have a chance look at mighty text and you will see how awesome it is for texting from a pc. Surprised Apple hasn't come out with something similar. Simple and easy.

Can't sync movies from camera

The movie was taken by Canon SD 780 IS. An error message appears: " iPad doesn't support this movie format' and refuses to sync. But on Apple website it says supporting the '.mov' format which used by Canon.

mov is just a container format, and may use any one of several different video and audio codecs. The SD780, from what I read in Canon's specs, uses H.264 for the video which the iPad can support, but uses PCM encoding for the audio which the iPad cannot; the iPad only supports AAC audio compression when used with H.264 or MPEG-4 video. So it appears to be the audio track that's the problem. You'll probably need to convert the movie to use AAC for the audio before it will play on the iPad. Now i can't download MOVIES from camera

i set aperture to open automatically when i connect my camera, but now my camera doesn't show up in my computer. i want to download movies and some pics that way, but mainly i want to DL pics in apperture.
how do i get the camera to show up in my computer after it opens with apperture?

You can use iPhoto to download all your files from you camera into the iPhoto Library. iPhoto can handle both the images and video from your camera. Then you can set up Aperture to share import images from iPhoto leaving them in the iPhoto Library.

Can we Track Which Fixed Bin has what material.

We can assign a Material to be having a fixed bin. So we can find the Fixed Bin associated with a Material using WM View 2(MLGT Table).
But can we find what material is assigned to a specific bin, without having to Query the whole Material master Table?
IN Short: A Bin Query for its Material instead of Material Query for its bin.

The assignment of the fixed bin is made in the material.
It is not the other way around (which would be assigning of materials to a bin).
In any case you would have the same number of records.
If you have stock, then you can just look in LS03N which materials are at a certain bin.

Can I open Nikon D600 Camera RAW files in Photoshop CS5 Extended?

We've got CS5.5 and a new D600. The NEF (RAW) files will not display. I've downloaded the DNG converter (7.2) as a workaround but it's not great. Spoke with Apple and they say I'll have to upgrade to CS6, which in turn will mean upgrading the OS on this Mac which will in turn require a new computer. All this to get a version of the ACR Plugin that works. OUTRAGEOUS!!

Sorry, but the D600 is not supported by Photoshop CS5.1, support for it was only added in CS6 with ACR 7.2. What kind of computer do you have?
If you (understandibly) don't want to get a new computer, it might make sense to use Lightroom to do your RAW editing, and then open them in Photoshop if you so need.

Can Photos access a NAS device like iPhoto could?

Hmmm. You're very lucky. That iPhoto Library should not be on a NAS or any network location. There is a very high risk of corruption and data loss. See this

Note also the comment:
“Additionally, storing the iPhoto library on a network rather than locally on your computer can also lead to poor performance or data loss.”
It needs to be on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and directly connected to the Mac. The same with the Photos Library. Photos will not convert or work with a Library on a NAS.

In Photoshop CS6, can you make the tab background go away?

Is it possible in Photoshop CS6, to make the tab background go away?
I find the background box that you need to work in, gets in my way.
I cant see the finder/desktop underneith it like I could in CS5.
Any way to change this?

Can't move 3D camera ?

Hi all,
I'm having an issue trying to move the camera view in cs6 extended using a 3d Layer. Here's the idea:
1. Create a 3D Layer extrusion / mesh primitive.
2. I select the current view item in 3D Panel / click outside model.
3. The border frame appears yellow.
4. When I select the Move tool, I can only rotate around the y axis, can't rotate up or down. Can't roll the camera, move or slide either using the other move tool modes.
5. I can adjust the co-ordinates properties for the current view and it works OK.
6. Object /light transforms work OK.
I'm testing on 13.0.1, mac 10.7.4. I had the same problem on another machine on 10.6.8 on v 13.0 last week that fixed itself, but not sure how ...

Can you import movie videos from SD camera card

Can you import movie videos (MP4) into an Ipad from an SD camera card on a Lightning cable ... or can you only do this from a laptop via Itunes? In other words, is Itunes the only way to get non-Itune videos to the Ipad? Hope I havent made this sound confusing.

To import the videos must follow a very strict naming convention.
All file names must have 8 characters for a name and be located in a folder named DCIM
for example
DCIM
MOV_5789.mp4
You can't watch the videos off the cart, they must be imported into the iPad. They'll go into the camera roll, when you tap on them it'll open the video app and you can watch from there.

After update to Camera Raw 8.x, Bridge CS6 can no longer build TIFF previews

I just updated Camera Raw 8.x via Adobe updater.
Even though this should only affect Photoshop, Adobe Bridge cs6 can no longer build previews for TIFFS.
JPEGs still work.
I purged the cache.
Did not work.
All TIFF thumbnails are half the size of regular thumbnails, and the preview is equally stamp sized.
If you select a TIFF, no building of a preview is going on. The stamp sized preview just stays stamp sized.

Solution found:
This was a botched Adobe update.
There has been already a whole thread about the Camera Update disabling many of Bridge CS6 features like previews of TIFFS.
But, obviously, someone did a very poor job at Adobe, and still pushed the bad update out via Adobe update.

Sorry I can't help but I have potentially a similar problem.
We have an Apple TV 3 and after the most recent software update (potentially coincidental timing), our purchased movies & TV shows will no longer play for our US account. We can play previews but that's it. We also tried renting a new movie but that didn't work either. No error messsage, just select play, it thinks about it, then returns you to the same screen again.

Most movies have Dolby surround sound. Seems like you don't have all sound channels coming out of your speakers.
Is the AppleTV connected to a receiver or to a TV?
If you have a receiver that supports dolby surround you should configure the sound settings of the Apple TV and receiver accordingly.
If it's connected to a TV the audio setting "Dolby Digital" in the Apple TV should be set to off.

The default settings mostly likely use an audio sample rate of 32k. This doesn't work probably in FCP. You're probably better off capturing the tape in iMovie.
