Is there a way to tab within a table? I trying to line up a list of numbered items. Thanks!

Which OS?
Under Mac OS: use [Alt]+[Tab] in a cell.
Under Windows:
You can set a shortcut:
Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts
Choose: Font menu -> Insert special characters: other: tab
Important! Context: Tables
With this (your own) shortcut you can now always insert a tabulator in a cell without the menu item.

Pay particular attention to the section entitled: "My drag and drop question works correctly sometimes, but not other times. "
From the appearance of your slide, it looks like you may have removed some of the components from the quiz slide that are necessary for it to function correctly. Try the test that this section of the troubleshooting suggests so that you can see if this is the case. If it turns out that you have deleted some items, you'll need to recreate your quiz slide to get them back again.

How can I make the GRID lines more bold within a table in the new Pages? (Not the outline of a table)

I can't find where to darken GRID lines on a table in the new Pages. I can make the outline more bold, but not the grid lines within the table. Is there a way to do this? The default grid lines are far too faint.

Yeah, the Help is missing a little.
If you select the block of cells that you want to change, then in the Format inspector:
Select the Cell tab
Expand the Border section
Set a line type
Set a line width
Choose a line color
Choose one of the nine options for which borders get the new settings

Create a drop down list in a cell within a table ?

Is there a way to create a drop down list in a cell within a table ? Like the way it can be done in ms word or excell ? I dont mean an interactive pdf/form. I want to create a table in indesign which has drop down lists other people can use to populate a table quickly.

Not possible. InDesign isn't designed to be form-filling software. At best, it can create fields which can be passed on to a PDF file, which usually further has to be edited in Acrobat Pro.

BOE 3.0 Designer does not show the table browser

Hi,
I am using BOE 3.0. I was able to view the table browser a few days back. After I changed the license key, the designer stopped showing me the table browser. I am logging into Designer with Administrator previleges. Although the Administrator has "Full control", but when I click on "Insert->Tables" in designer it does not do anything, not even display the table browser. I have created Oracle client connection and tested it. The server is responding, but the insert-> tables does not work.
Any help would be appreciated.

1. When you invoke table browser using Insert->Tables do you see progress bar below the designer (task Bar)
Sus: Yes I can see the progress bar. It exists for a few seconds and then disapperas,but does not do anything.
2. Can you try invoking Table browser by double clicking on Universe designer pane.
Sus: Yes I tried, but nothing happened. I mean I could not see the table browser
3. Can you check if Designer can connect to your DB.
Sus: Yes the designer is able to connect to the DB. I tested the connection and got the message "Server is responding". In fact when I am using the quick design wizard I can able to see the tables from my DB.
4. How many tables do you have in DB, IF there are lot many table then it might table time to load those tables
Sus: Currently my DB contains almost 40(20 tables and 20 views). I don't think it is concern. I worked with DB which contains more than this and that time I did not face this issue.
5. Can you strategies tab in parameters (File->Parameters). What is the strategy for Tables. Try using built-in strategy.
Sus: Yes it is built-in for tables. It is the default one and I did not change it.
Is there a limit set to insert tables in designer?

Centering text within a table in Contribute

I'm using Contribute on a PC doing testing for a professor's
website. Per my suggestion, the professor purchased Contribute to
edit his pages. Pages are using a table to format the page.

Within a table Contribute will not let us center text. Since
a cell is used to put the main content, we cannot center the cell.
If another table is added inside the cell, even if we try to use
cell properties, which we can change to center, the text inside the
table does not center. The align icons can not be selected.
Any ideas?

With the design of the pages, the right area is where the
content is located which is in one cell. Centering one or a few
lines within the content area is not working within Contribute. The
whole content area is not wanted to be centered just specified
lines within the td. Centering in DreamWeaver or Microsoft Front
Page are inside a td is possible. Contribute is not letting us
center if trying to do so from within a table.
Thank you for your suggestion. I'll have to try doing it
through css. Since Dreamweaver and Front Page can center within a
table, I don't like having a css definition for something should be
cared for in the program. It would be a class of Center, which the
program should be able to center We have about less than 10 people
using contribute and others mostly using Front Page or Dreamweaver.
I'll keep testing.

Loop at Conditions within internal table

I have not been ABAPing long so primarily have been using keyword help...
I am trying to loop round an itab and only select and process unique keys from within the table!
However the table I am using to obtain the records has multiple records with the same reference and I am only interested in each unique occurrence of the IBASE_COMPONENT_GUID field.
So there could be four items for one Appliance and four for another one. So of the eight records, I would only need to loop round and select the unique GUIDS.
So there would only be two unique appliances I need to extract the records for.
Basically I am trying to do something like this:
LOOP AT GT_ITEM_DATA INTO GS_ITEM_DATA WITH UNIQUE KEY IBASE_COMPONENT_GUID.
Is there a way to select each unique occurrence?

Basically, I use the COLLECT statement when I need to get the unique field (character only) field from the internal table.
Create a table with only one field, GUID.
LOOP through your main table, assign its GUID to new table's field GUID
Use COLLECT new_table.
Other option is,
Sort the table by GUID
Loop through it and use AT NEW GUID or AT END OF GUID
Fill out the table with this GUID.

Authorization issue within a table in BI

Hello All,
Here is my authorization issue :
We have set up an authorization on infoobject Zapplication. End user is allowed to choose "HR" only.
In Rsecadmin, infoObject Zapplication is restricted to "HR"
Then, this authorization object has been assigned to end user.
This user go to a specific table to select an application and a date.
When user display the possible value he only see "HR". Which means our authorization is correct.
However, this user can enter another value such as "SD". This value does exist in infoObject Zapplication. So, it means that there is an issue with our authorizations settings.
We have added a control table, it's even worse in this case, authorization are not checked at all and all available values are displayed.
Any idea to prevent the user to entered a value within this table ?
Why our authorization does not check the value entered directly in the table ?

For info we manged to restrict acces on this table by using event table from table maintenance and we have combined it with a specific authorisation object.

I have MacDeskTop W/Intel/OS X Lion 10.8.2   and Safari:Ver6.0.2(8536.26.17)
Currently I am having a big issue to access within this website's the "SHOP section(tab)" I ca click on the tabs and read the info in each section, except for the "Shop" Tab.
While in the process of paying for my items in my cart, I received a website message saying something
To the affect that this website is being updated. Your items in your cart will be in your cart.
Then the website's screen kicked me out the door.
A few days later I accessed the main page of this website with no problem.
I can read the information on the main web page pertaining to items I need to purchase, etc., with no problems.
I click and maneuver from on one tab to another from the main page within this website with no issues.
When I click on the "SHOP section(tab)" within this website to complete my purchase.
Part of this website an error occurs on this "SHOP tab".
"Safari can't connect to the server".
Safari can't open the page "https://and the name of this website" because Safari can't connect to the server "www.the name of this website".
I click on the reload from the view of the toolbar and I can't access this website's"Shop section(tab) at all.
I e-mailed the webmaster of this website a few times, but no response.
In the past I was able to access the "Shop section(tab") within this website many times to purchase items with no issues.
Now I am at my wits end as I really need to complete my purchase from this website.
I cannot purchase these items from other websites. Only this website.
So, I really need anyone's tech expertise to help me access the "SHOP" tab within this website.
I also have another website that i have visited numerous times within the last 6 months with no issues.
Now I can't access this website at all.
Safari error: "Safari can't connect to the server".
I can't figure this out
No issues with:
* Comcast tech says that My modem, Wi-Fi connections are fine.
* Cables and wires and Power strip unit to protect my electronics are fine
* Utility bill is up to date.

i hve created a Advance table within Advanvce Table as given in the developer guide using the Detail functionality of the advance table
im facing the following error................

at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAAdvancedTableHelper.updateInnerTableProperties(OAAdvancedTableHelper.java:1752)
i hve done all the steps as suggested by gurus to implement this Master Detail functionality. Pl help me out if any one had implemented it

HT4623 Opening multiple tabs within Internet Safari on my iPad mini

How am I able to open multiple tabs within Internet Safari on my iPad mini?? I have an iPhone and I can do so but on my iPad mini I can't figure it out or it just doesn't have that option. Someone please help with some answers, thank you!!

Thanks for your response, that's exactly what I thought the + sign was for but I've tried that and when I do it completely closes out safari. I did some other research and it seems to be happening to others also. So not sure what to do now or how I can get multiple tabs opened just like you can on the iPhones.

Numbers ought to keep check box that allows carriage return within a cell universally within a table

Apple really fell asleep at the switch when releasing its latest version of Numbers 2013 (3.2), because it ignored the universal learning styles of human beings who have used the software in earlier releases and seemed to change features with little consideration for the community as a whole.
For example, why would you delete the feature that allows a user to turn-on or turn-off the "carriage return within a cell". It seems smart of them to add the abilityt to simply press the Option key and hit return at the same time to allow a carriage return within a cell, but why would you DELETE the feature that allows returns within a cell universally within a table?
And then the Inspector got completely revised.
Time saved in creating technologies gets eaten up in having to relearn technology every time a new release is created that doesn't build on the previous release very well.

Navigation to specific tab within a page

I have an event set up to navigate to a certain page however this is not good enough for me. I want to navigate to a specific tab within that page. Is there a way to do this?

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you want, but if you want to simply go directly to a specific tab, you can use it's direct access URL. If you login to portal and bring up Oracle's portal help (use the help link in the upper right on any of the default pages), search for direct access URL and they do a nice job of explaining how to reach a page, tab, subpage, item, etc.
To access a subtab called mytab1 on the mytab tab in Portal release 2 or portal 10g prior to 10.1.4:
http://<hostname>:<portnumber>/pls/portal/url/page/<pagegroupname>/<pagename>/mytab/mytab1
(Note that the names needed for the url are the "Name" field when looking at properties, not the "Display Name")
The URL structure has changed in 10.1.4.

Style sheet changing when applied to text within a table

Hi everyone,
I'm using ID CS2.
I've defined a paragraph style sheet with the regular weight of a certain typeface, however when I apply this style to text within a table, the typeface changes to the bold version of the font even though the regular version is specified in the style.
Does anyone know if this is a known issue with styles being applied to tables or is it a sign of a corrupt file or something? Is there a fix?

Is there a character style applied to the table or text in the table. I had many issues with this over-riding my paragraph style.
