  • New Apple Earpods are very nice

I have to say these new earpods are very nice. The sound is great and the fit is very comfortable.
I have Bose earbuds for my iPod Nano (Gen 7) and Apple's earpods are brighter in sound with adequate bass. The Bose earbuds have a little more bass with the Nano. The earpods sound really nice with my Macbook Pro Retina and iPhone 4. I don't use the EQ with any of my devices.

    Hello Keg55,
I have a Macbook Pro (early 2011) and was really wondering if these new Apple EarPods are compatible with the Macbook Pro series. When I am asking that question I am thinking of the microphone on the cord, is it recognized by the Macbook Pro?
    My Macbook Pro doesn't have a dedicated mini-jack connection for mics so that would be really helpfull. My guess is that it is, as the previous version of iPhone headsets worked like a charm. I know you can't answer for my specific Macbook Pro as you have the one with retina display. So my question really is;
Is the included mic recongnized by your Macbook Pro Retina?

  • Apple's eBay relationship and VERO and counterfeit earpods

    Related: counterfeit iPhone 3GS 16GB on ebay.co.uk
I know this is officially a user-to-user area.  However: If anyone at Apple works with eBay (e.g. through their VERO program) please get in touch.
I've had awful experiences from eBay staff when reporting counterfeit items and sellers of counterfeit items.
The eBay DR (dispute resolution) processes good for getting a refund for counterfeit items.
My experience is that eBay staff is doing everything they can to avoid kicking sellers of counterfeit items off ebay or removing listings thereof.
I've purchased a bunch of out-and-out counterfeit "Apple" earpods on eBay.  (Specifically, items marked as Brand: Apple, with Apple part numbers..., NOT just identical-looking (in the ad photos, that is) clones simply marketed as 'for iPhone 5' or Apple compatible or some other grey area of illegality.)
Most egregious case (of several cases): opened a dispute (Details: Case ID:5060897779.  SNAD.  Counterfeit.  Issue: "I have a set of real Apple Earpods and they sound completely different and much better, say "Designed by Apple in California ..." on the cable, don't rattle, have grills with gloss...") I was refused a refund by the seller, and escalated with this message to eBay Customer Support:
"Description incl.: Product Identifiers Brand Apple Model EarPods Color White MPN MD827LL/A It does not say that this is not original. scammer. counterfeiter. Please close their ebay account. And give me a full refund. "
Partial Success: Jun 19: "Case closed by Customer Support."  Refund received.  Yet today, July 29, the same seller is selling the same counterfeit item.
    eBay item number:  281377171070
In two other cases, I received counterfeit "Apple" earpods.  In all three cases, I reported SNAD: counterfeit via the DR process, got a full refund and yet, the merchant's account is still open.  One is not selling anything, the other two are still selling the same counterfeit item.
    I even sent a message
    To: eBay Customer Support
    Subject: Replica and Counterfeit Items
with the counterfeit item numbers. Even after taking this additional step, the the same sellers are selling the same counterfeit item.

  • Bluetooth adapter for Earpods?

I currently have this Bluetooth adapter that you can plug a pair of headphones into. It is from Sony. The reason I use it is because its nice to be able to have my iPhone free of wires when I am taking it out of my pocket, putting it in my bag, etc. The only problem is the adapter itself has a microphone on it, and the volume and track changing keys on the headphones don't work when it is plugged into the adapter. I know this is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone else had an adapter that still allows the apple headphones/earpods microphone and controls to work?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

may not be much use for you but I use an old nokia stereo bluetooth headset with mine it works for calls and other stuff so one workaround could be to buy an a2dp bluetooth headset

  • My Ipod Touch's (5G) earpod controls have just stopped working, and device becomes warm/hot.

Hi. Yesterday my Ipod Touch's (5G) has suddenly stopped working with Apple's earpod controls. Furthermore when playing music with the screen off the device becomes warm or even hot, and the battery drains from a full charge to empty in about  4 or 5 hours. (This is with the screen turned off.) The near overheating happens during music playback whether using Apple's earpods or third party earbuds lacking inline controls. If I stop the music playback the device quickly cools off again.
I've checked the forums, but couldn't find anything that helps. Rebooted numerous times - it did not help. Cleaning earbud socket repeatedly and blowing out with airgun did not help. Tried two different sets of earbuds (both sets worked in another device), so it's not the earpods. Is something stuck, causing a short, negating the controls and leading to quick battery drain during music playback?

I can't think of anything being stuck in the hedphone jack causing the problem
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Audio problems with earpods using iPhone 5

I've noticed that when I use Apple's earpods on the iPhone 5 the audio goes in and out. It's hard to describe. It sounds like the audio of the words drop off at the end like the volume dramatically reduced. It happens for every word or every other word. It makes it hard to understand what people are saying on the phone. It doesn't seem the people I'm calling are having any problems understanding me so I think the problem is only on my side.
This problem never happen on the iPhone 4 so I think it's a unique problem only found on the iPhone 5. My theory is that it has something to do with the iPhone 5's noise cancelling feature since the audio seems to go up and down in volume. I've noticed the problem doesn't happen when I make calls on the iPhone without the earpods.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem? Is there any way to turn off the noise cancellation?

  • PC Headset Mic not detected

I have a Geemarc hearing aid compatible headset from http://www.sonicalert.com/products-listening-devices-CLA3.html and a splitter adapter from http://www.startech.com/Cables/Audio-Video/Audio-Cables/35mm-4-Position-to-2x-3- Position-35mm-Headset-Splitter-Adapter-Male-to-Female~MUYHSMFF connected to the iPad but the external headset mic isn't detected and the iPad continues using the internal mic.  The headset uses an electret mic.  I wear hearing aids and cannot use original Apple's earpods or in-ear headphones.  The headset works but the boom mic doesn't and the sound is only picked up by the internal mic.  Do you have any solution for this issue?

  • Can i use dr.dre tour for my ipod shuffle 3rd model?

Pls let me know~ thanks yall

The product page only mentions the Mic
    http://www.beatsbydre.com/earphones/beats-tour/beats-beatstour,default,pd.html
Which of course does nothing for the 3rd gen shuffle, you need an ear bud that has a "remote" built in specifically for the 3rd gen shuffle or newer, you'll want to double check the compatbility since not all "remotes" are compatible with the 3rd gen shuffle, for example Apple's EarPods are not compatible.

  • Coloured background behind text area

    Hi all,
Does anyone know how to make a coloured background behind the text area. For example, like the yellow title "Apple biometric earpods..." in the webpage; Apple biometric Earpods just a hoax, 'simply made up' for fun - Tech2
I have lots of titles in a document that I want to apply this style to so dont want to do it by drawing lots of boxes.
I have got a bit of a work around where you use an underline, and go into underline options and make it really wide and give it a negative offset so it is in the middle of the text but this is hard to control the gap so you have to add a space to the star and end of each sentence.
    is there a better way?
    thanks,

Nope, that's how it's done. Turn on the custom underline as part of the paragraph style.

  • Internals Speakers Missing

    Hello.
In the last saturday I close (put on sleep) my MacBook Air (2013 last version) with external speakers connected to the Air. Couple hour ago I removed all pluged cables to move my Air to another location.
Whem I open (wake-up) the system's audio is locked in headphone mode. Now I have only audio in external (headphone), and the Air don't recognize the Apple's Earpod controls.
    I try the following:
Put various headphones in the port to unlock any sensors - No success
Boot in Security mode - No audio, eather internal or external.
Reset PRAM - Whem the computers starts, the earpods controls work fine. If I unplug and plugin again the system lock in external audio and the earpod controls stop working.
Restore the system - No success
Reset SMC - The Preferences -> Audio -> Output shows the internals speakers. Whem I press volume / mute the system locks again.
I'm not in US so I can't check with a genius, so I'm trying to repair the system by myself before call to Apple (Brazil) and try to fix my machine (it's a customized version, if Apple decide to replace they take a long time for delivery).
    Thanks a lot!

    1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
        Highlight  Internal Speakers
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
    2. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
        Audio Devices window
        Side Bar
        Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it.
    4. System Preferences > Sound> Sound Effects
        Play sound effects through:
Select "Internal speakers" and then back to "Selected sound output device".
    5. Were trying out external speakers?
Plug in the head phone and reset SMC.
    Best.

  • Thank you Zyriab.  My volume issue is solved!

Thank you Zyriab.  My volume issue is solved!

This is a physical problem with the buttons?
Did you try doing a Reset (restart) of the iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
and if that does not help, a Restore on the iPod using iTunes.  The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.
If that does not help, because there is something physically wrong with the iPod's hardware, you may be able to control volume if you get a set of headphones that has compatible remote control buttons on the cord.  For example, Apple's Earpods headphones should work with a 6th gen iPod.  However, it may not help if the button on the iPod is actually "stuck" and always giving the Volume Up command.

  • Does iPod Classic 6th Gen support a headphone remote for pausing/playing, adjusting volume, and advancing the track?

I know that the 7th Gen does support this feature, and my iPod video (5th Gen) does not.

    The listing for Apple's EarPods
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD827LL/A/apple-earpods-with-remote-and-mic
under Compatibility, shows it supporting back to "iPod classic 120GB (2008)."
The official list of iPods does not actually name iPods after the 5th gen model by a "gen" name, but if you look at the list
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
it is clear which one "iPod classic 120GB (2008)" refers to.  There is an earlier "iPod classic" ("6th gen") model from 2007 that is apparently NOT supported by the EarPods.  But it's possible that Apple's older headphones with remote control works with it.

  • Headphone Suggestions?

I am wanting to buy a nice set of headphones (with a mic) for my iphone. I have the in-ear apple ones, but think I can probably get something nicer for the money. Any suggestions?

    I purchased Ultimate Ears.
    http://www.ultimateears.com/_ultimateears/store/products/superfi4vi.php
Includes the same features as the Apple earbuds for the iPhone, but these are noise-isolating. I don't use these when driving due to the noise-isolating feature, but they are great during airplane travel.

  • How and where do I contact Apple to request they modify their earbuds so they stay in my ears?

I posted a 'complaint' on my FB page a few minutes ago and got a half-dozen "likes" in a few minutes.  I'd like to suggest they modify the earbuds so they stay in most people's ears, as do the Skullcandys and all of the other earbuds I have owned.  I know, it may not do any good, but I would like to write a note to someone, Can't find any email address other than customer support for products and other irrelevant departments. We must have eight pair of Apple earbuds laying around the house and still I have to spend $$$ to get ones that stay in place.

You may like the new earpods. They not only have a really nice sound, but are comfortable too.
