????????? in f4 option in russian langauge

Hi all,
I am currently facing some peculiar issue. Inorder to tell shortly.
In my server while clicking F4 in any tcode its showing as ??????? ????????? ????????? in colum heads adn in fields and everywhere.
The beauty here is that its happening only for Russian langause its not a case for other language.Previously it was working the recent change whcih i did is that installed another language. After that its coming like this.
Anyone have idea on the same please share with me

Smartforms - printing Russian address not working

Hi All,
In my smart form I am printing an address that is maintained in russian langauge. But instead it is giving some special characters when i am clicking the print option(ie in my local printer) but when i am checking in print preview the texts are coming proper(using the same output device).
For eg российскими лесными is printed as @>AA89A:8<8;5A=k<8.
Can someone please guide me how to solve this problem.

I had the exact same problem as you did. For me, then, the Basis guys did it but since then I investigated it for myself. The problem is that russian characters are contained on a different code page than the usual Western European characters. This is why you will need to specify in transaction SPAD a different output type for the printer. An output type that supports Cyrillic characters will do the job. You can see in the description if it support cyrillic.

Problem with Russian characters in Firefox on Mac OS X 10.5

Hi everybody,
I installed the latest version of Firefox (2.0.0.9) on Mac OS X 10.5(Leopard) on my iMac (Core 2 Duo, 2.16GHz). Now when I change the language option to Russian (in Mac OSX) and type in Firefox search box (in the top right corner) I see only question marks ("????") instead of russian characters. The same happens when I open Google page in the browser and type there. Also if I bookmark a web page that contains russian character in the title, it also have "????..." instead.
However on some web pages, where I need to provide input the russian letters do show up. Also it works fine in Safari.
I didn't have this kind of issue on previous versions of Mac OSX (Tiger) and Firefox. When I installed Firefox there everything just worked fine and I didn't have to change any settings. I still have my bootable drive with this configuration and when I run it everything is fine. I tried to compare language settings and Firefox preferences and character encoding settings in Tiger and Leopard, but I don't see any difference.
I played with character encoding settings in Firefox, but that didn't fix the problem. Is it the problem of Leopard? Does anybody have the same issue? Any help is appreciated.

I think this is a FireFox problem, you need to ask them to fix it and use another browser (or perhaps the Russian version of Firefox) in the meantime.

How do you integrate LyrisHQ Opt-in form code in BC so that it works?

I created an opt-in form using the LyrisHQ platform and tested it in FF, IE and Chrome and it works. However, when I put the code on a page in BC it does not work and I do not get any error messages when I click on the submit button.

Like I mentioned, that code on it's own just in its own file probably works, that is very likely not the issue. Considering how BC works with pages, templates, how you have those implemented in your site, how you have inserted that code into a page or template and implemented it is what matters. Conflicting scripts, missing code, Posted in editor with invalid HTML having it changed by the editor... There are lots of reasons for issues to occur.
It is a bit like taking taking something out of context, not really meaningful or can be taken the wrong way if used out of context.
In terms of your issue. HTML errors.
Your form if you use say firebug you can see has closed itself off right away and does not have the form elements inside thus nothing to submit of function correctly due to the html issues.

Desperate for help: ADDT registration form

New to ADTT and back again with another, more urgent problem.
I have used ADDT to create a registration page, using UPDATE instead of INSERT (this is necessary because the users are already in our system as contacts). To accomplish this I had to do some hand coding and I fear I may have gone awry. Initially I kept getting a blank page with the message "error: internal server" message when the page loaded...currently I get "Fatal error: Call to a member function addField() on a non-object in /home/agciorg/public_html/events/2009/259/users_Registration.php on line 33." Now I can no longer open the registration page in Dreamweaver -- freezes DW everytime. So I'm trying to edit in Text Edit to get it back to a functioning page. I've already rebuilt the page from scratch twice trying to get things to work and I'm on a major time crunch and just can't afford to do it again. Actually if you do not need a public registration form, its much more practical to use the "Create Dynamic List" and "Create Dynamic Form" behaviors in your site administration back end. And it really only takes about two minutes to set up.
This will give you the ability to add, delete and edit all your users.

Problems with saving decimal data

Hello!
I was faced with problem during saving decimal data via Excel input schedules. We use BPC 7.0 MS, SQL Server 2008.
One of the main customer demands is using decimal comma (",") due to Russian regional settings and standards. We've switched server regional options and one of the client machine's regional options into Russian, all integer data is sent to SQL correctly but during saving decimal data we got error - Type mismatch.
Do you mind how to solve this issue? Or it is possible only using English standarts?

Correctly combining an absolute and a relative URL

I've been messing around with combining absolute and relative URLS in java and have found the task to be a little more confusing than I originally thought. For example:

I don't understand why the /ru/ is taken out; and was wondering if there was already a class written in Java that combined urls, or if someone could explain to me why the end result is not http://wallpapers.diq.ru/ru/wallpapers/17i/Lotus_Exige_Mk_II,_2004.jpg

The web page could have a <head> section that contains a [<base>|http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_base.asp].
This specifies the base that will be used when resolving urls. It may not be the url of the page itself. For instance it could be that the "ru" bit collects together all the Russian langauge pages parallel to a "en" duplicate that has the same pages in English. Clearly both sets would want to access the same image resources so they have a <base> setting that points one level higher up.
If this is the case and you want to get the url for the images you will have to parse the <head> of the web page and figure out what the <base>is.

BlackBerry 10 ignor Bulgarian language .... why ?

In Bulgaria we have a huge problem with BB 10 devices , it doesn't support Bulgarian language , and we can't typing in our native language , previous BlackBerry's like OS 5 , 6 , and 7 they have option like Russian Tranlit. this was good alternative for typing in bulgarian alphabet ( Russian Tranlit. is it completely different than Russian Language). We already have written to @BlackBerryHelp about this misunderstanding , but they make us look like foolish. More than 1 year we waiting bulgarian language , all devices like iOS , Android and Windows Phone they support bulgarian language only BlackBerry ignore us .

Web texts error in Cirillic/Russian

Hi friends
My web show a table (based on a query) and a graph (based on a view).
The columns headers are displayed ok in russian, but the label series in the graphic not. The labels should be the same that in the table, but now display garbish texts. My system has unicode applied, and I have Nw04s running with Bex 3.5

Can you please check this; In the Region and Langauge Options dialog box, please change the following settings:
1. In "Regional Options" tab, select Russian.
2. In "Administrative" tab, select Russian for non-Unicode programs.
Note: Region and Langauge Options is available in control panel. Open this from control panel and do the changes.
And for BEx3.5 analyzer, if you want to display Russian characters, you need to set the whole PC to Russian codepage and logon with RU. This is the design of our BEx3.5.

Import Russian text into FM 7.1, please advice

Dear professionals
From our Russian agent I received some MS-Word documents in the Russian language.
I wanted to import the Cyrillic text / characters into Framemaker documents to make a structured book.
But copying and pasting makes Frame only show question marks.
Selecting an other font did not show anything else.
What is the simpelest way of making Frame "eat" the Cyrillic MS-Word text and make a proper structured document.
I read already things about "font mappings", but haven't the faintest "clou" about how to do such a thing.
Al this on a Win-XP system and Frame version 7.1p116.
Font Arial CYR and others available in the Paragraph Designer.
Your advice will be appreciated.

You have to transform the text into the Cyrillic codepage. Codepage is a term describing a set of max. 256 characters (encodable with a single byte). With Western Windows we use the codepage 1252, for Cyrillic text codepage 1251 is necessary.
Without rebooting etc. you may want to proceed like this:
* Open the document with Word
* File > Save as Text (there might be two options, we need the option which allows to set the encoding)
* Select "Windows (Russian)" or something with "1251" from the encoding popup menu. If the document contains any characters that do not fit into this encoding, it will tell you.
* Save as txt file.
Now you can import this file into FrameMaker, if asked for an encoding, use Windows — FrameMaker 7.x does not know anything about Cyrillic etc., only when you apply a font like Arial CYR (which is a codepage subset of Arial) the correct glyphs will appear.

Cannot turn on "Show the day of the week" option in Date & Time

OS X Lion turns "Show the day of the week" option off each time I open that preference pane and after every reboot. My region in Formats tab of Language & Text preference pane is set to "Russia (Russian)". I've noticed that the problem doesn't appear when region is set to US (I didn't try others). Is there any known workaround, except changing my region preference?

And I have a workaround, until Фззду fixes it finally:
1) Go to the ~/Library/Preferences, locate a file named com.apple.menuextra.clock.plist, open it with Plist editor (comes with XCode) or just with TextEdit.
2) There's DateFormat key in it, change it to "EEE H:mm", save the file.
3) Now Cmd-I (right click - Get info) on that file in Finder, and check option named "Locked" ("Защита").
System Preferences' Date & Time pane sets the aforementioned DateFormat to "ccc H:mm" when you tick the "Show the day of the week" option, while in Russian locale. And in English it becomes "EEE H:mm". The problem is that Sys.pref and even SystemUIServer (that shows the menu) processes somehow do not like the former value and erase it. After every relaunch of SystemUIServer (after reboot or being killed) tries to change "EEE" to "ccc" again (which would be cleared to nothing next time), that is why you have to lock the plist file.

Problem in reading a russian File

I need to Load an MySQL DB from an CSV File which is in Russian,
My CSV File is correctly made an I can open it an read the Data on a text Editor,
I can too in Sunopsis but the data are not made of good characters.
When Sunopsis send data to MySQL (which is in UTF-8) my data are unreadable...
Is there somewhere I can define the encoding of my data in Sunopsis ???

Issue while sending SMS from JavaMail in languages like Russian & Japanese

Hi,
We have a requirement to send multi lingual SMS to users mobile number.
We are using JavaMail API for this. The only changes we have done to send SMS (instead of EMAIL) using a standard JavaMail code are –
1)     Use the suffix @sms after the mobile number. For eg: 919923456789@sms.<domain>.com.
2)     Use “text/plain” instead of “text/html” while setting the content type.
The SMS is sent fine for English and French but we get junk characters for languages like Japanese and Russian even on phones which support these languages.
Could anyone please advice on the below points –
1)     Is this a limitation with respect to JavaMail? If yes, is there any other api that can be used?
2)     Does some setting needs to be done in the SMS gateway to enable sending SMS in Japanese and Russian?
3)     Does some setting needs to be done in the mobile phone to receive SMS in Japanese and Russian?
Any help on this issue will be appreciated.

I tried this but still not getting correct text. If I try with "UTF-16BE"/"UTF-16LE", then I do not get an SMS at all. I have tried with UTF-8 as well.
Does it matter if I change the phone language before/after I receive the message in a language different from the currently set phone language?
I am based out of India and am trying to send these messages to some of my colleagues who are all using Indian service providers. I have tried this on phones which have Russian as a language option.
