In FCPX 10.1 and 10.2, I set FCPX on desktop 2. When i go back to desktop 1 for any reason, my second screen viewer leaves desktop 2 and travels to desktop 1
I use two desktops in OS-X. One is for FCPX (desktop 2) and one is for default things, browser, email etc.
I have two screens, and my second screen is my viewer. When I am in FCPX, all is fine, viewer is on screen 2 as it should be but if I flip over to desktop 1, the second screen travels with me and then does not return when i go back to FCPX.. so then I have to three finger swipe up and move the screen back, and it sticks there 1 in 5 tries, if that. I have removed preferences, reset, all the normal obvious things. I am 99.9% sure this is a bug as I can replicate it time and time again.
I found this as I am too experiencing the exact same issue. When I restart the synced databases are gone, corrupt and incomplete.
How did you resolve this ?

Candy Crush game stole $10.52 four times in the last 24 hours!!! I demand a $43 credit + 2x more for pain and suffering.
Whenever my purchase of .99 extra moves reaches $10.52, then for some reason the store shuts off my credit purchases and I lose the game and all the .99 purchases made leading up to the denial. Infuriating! Support article says its my financial institution. I called my bank and they said there are no holds on my account for any reason that would have caused such an occurence. yes, for the indefinite future. there may come a time when it's no longer offered, but adobe currently offers cs2,cs3,cs4,cs5,cs5.5 and current versions so you should be ok for a while.
but, harddrive space is so cheap, you should download your installation files and keep them saved. -

Ellipsis 7 tablet - drops wi-fi and goes to mobile data w/o telling you, and for no reason?
I don't totally hate my Ellipsis 7 tablet. It does have a nice, bright screen, and it does have a fairly fast processor.
This is where the compliments stop.
1.) It's glitchy. As others have stated, icons do seem to disappear.
2.) It seems to "lose communication" with my high-end Sandisk micro-sd card (that has no other problems when used in my smartphone.)
3.) The battery life could be a lot better - you will charge it every day, even with minimal use.
but my biggest problem with this tablet (which I got from my local Verizon store) is it's "sneaky behavior" with mobile data. I am nearly convinced that these devices are designed, intentionally, to use up your mobile data whenever possible, even when solid wi-fi is available.
Have any of you Verizon Ellipsis 7 users, that use these primarily at home with wi-fi available, noticed a rather large increase in the mobile data being used?
This is sort of long, so I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read this...
Here's my scenario; which I can duplicate.
I live in a place with 2 strong wi-fi networks available. The tablet accesses both of them with no problem. Speed tests show 10Mbps download and 0.768 Mbps upload, the speed we pay for.
One night, I get the text messages from Verizon that I'm close to using all my mobile data. (which I appreciate) But I'd been getting so many texts, emails, etc., that day I didn't look to see what the alert was. My bad! So, I'd gone over and approved $10 to upgrade with one more GB of data. I figured it was a fluke; that somehow I had turned off my wi-fi, or it had gone down, or somehow something happened that made the tablet switch over to mobile data.
...but I was watching more closely now...
less than 24 hours later, I'm getting those messages again! I'd used one GB in less than 24 hours??? So I called Verizon, and we went through the normal putting limits on the device, etc., so it couldn't happen again.
So then, I asked him the simple question? When not 1, but 2, strong wi-fi signals are available, why would this device switch over to mobile data, WITHOUT letting you know???
He couldn't answer that. He transferred me to someone else that was "higher" in techincal support. She was a sweet girl, and really wanted to help me, but she never understood my problem. At one point I said to her, "Look, it's simple. These devices always default to wi-fi if available. What would make them disconnect from wi-fi and go to mobile data instead?" Her answer was that she needed to look up if a tablet was supposed to connect to wi-fi first... uh, OK.
At the end of a very frustrating call, she offered to send me a box to ship it back to Verizon in. They would then decide to repair or replace it. I would be without a tablet for a minimum of two weeks. I said Thanks but No Thanks, I would just disable mobile data entirely. The lady I spoke with did not seem pleased with my decision, but what could she do? And we ended the call.
So, I'm still trying to figure out what is making this thing kick over to mobile data (remember I just shut mobile data off entirely before I hung up with Verizon) and I was currently connected to an external bluetooth speaker (which shouldn't have anything to do with anything, I realize), when I started a video on YouTube.
Now, mind you, I was ALREADY showing connected to a strong wi-fi network.
And up comes a dialog popup, asking me to turn the wi-fi back on, even though I would incur additional charges!
BUSTED, VERIZON!
This message doesn't come up when it tries to switch over from wi-fi to mobile data unless you have completely shut off mobile data.
I only mention that I was connected to an external bluetooth speaker because it is the only way (SO FAR) that I have been able to duplicate this "silent switchover" repeatedly.
If I'm on Youtube first, not connected to my bluetooth external speaker, the device will stay on my wi-fi network when I pause the video, connect to the bluetooth speaker, and then restart the video.
If I'm already connected to the external bluetooth speaker, and then open a browser window or youtube video, the device will attempt to change its connection from wi-fi to mobile data. There is no reason for this!
Yes, yes... I realize that being connected to an external bluetooth device should have absolutely nothing to do with whether the tablet should keep its wi-fi connection or switch to mobile data...
except that it does! And there may be other circumstances that I haven't found yet... I don't know, but I'm watching!
At the end of the day, ANY DEVICE THAT IS GOING TO SWITCH FROM A WI-FI NETWORK TO MOBILE DATA, FOR ANY REASON, SHOULD TELL YOU IT'S GOING TO SWITCH, AND LET YOU DECIDE TO ALLOW THAT CHANGE OR NOT, especially when there is NO REASON for the device to switch in the first place. In the same household are my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and husband's Galaxy S5. They never exhibit this behavior, and yes, we use internet on our phones at home rather frequently.
Watch your mobile data folks...
Oh, and the Verizon lady called back about 30 minutes later... asking me again to agree to send my tablet in. I explained to her that I could now duplicate the problem. I told her that it would be easy enough for them to check and see if all devices are doing it (which I'm guessing they all do! there's not enough memory to download any apps, so I doubt it's that...) I said that with the millions of Ellipsis 7 devices they have, someone in tech support can grab one and try it. Still no luck, and she still wanted me to send it back and be without a tablet for 2 weeks or more. I declined.
Anyway, if you've read this far, I thank you! I would like opinions as to whether you think this should be happening or not, and whether you have had this happen to you or not with this tablet. I turned off mobile data as soon s I activated the device, and got the message that unless I am connected to WiFi.....(that is exactly what I wanted). We watched Netflix for about three hours, then the alerts started. Like you we have many devices connected and never used over 2GB now all of a sudden we have used it in a matter of hours. My husband called Verizon and got the usual doubting Thomas response. I understand that they don't know my device settings. So over the phone we check all the settings and turned off every possible culprit eating up the data and end the call. By now I have purchased another gig for the month! Assured we are NOT using mobile data, we continue on the IE path to bliss. HA! A few hours later I check the mobile data usage on the Verizon website and that darn thing is still using data. After two more phone calls and two VERY uneventful trips to the local store we were told to take out the sim card. This has stopped the data usage, but it defeats the purpose of having the data plan. I could have just stuck with my Surface. Verizon sent us a new sim card. Its been installed and I have set my homepage to Verizon mobile data usage (just kidding) but I am on that site a lot. I am surprised at the number of complaints about this device. When we called the Verizon support acted as though this was the first time they had heard about this. Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer: Full screen view of lower quality than with PSE 10 and before?!
Upgrading from PSE 10 to 11, I noticed that when I watch my images with the organizer in PSE 11 in full screen view mode (F11), while the images load faster, they are shown in a lower quality than in PSE 10 or any other version of PSE that I owned before. In PSE 11, after the initial viewing in full screen (in the "fit screen" mode), when I click with the mouse on an image to display the "100%" view, there is a delay and the program says "Loading...", after which the 100% view in the full screen mode appears. When I then click another time with the mouse on the image to get back to "fit screen" mode, I get an image of better quality than during the initial view!
So it seems like the program first gives a faster, but lower quality view of the image in full screen mode, and only after the user requests a 100% view, it actually loads the image with full detail, which is then preserved when going back to the "fit screen" view. This is a serious issue for me, because I also use PSE organizer to present my pictures to other people, and I don't want to show them some lower quality versions of my images, but the full quality ones, without having to first choose "100% view" and then go back to "fit screen".
How can I make the PSE 11 organizer give me a full-quality full screen image right away, as this used to be the case in PSE10 and before?
(I have both versions, PSE 11 and PSE 10, now on the same computer and tested this to confirm that the PSE 11 initial full screen view is of lower quality than the PSE 10 one. Also in PSE 10, there is practically no delay for displaying the "100%" view afterwards, indicating that the image was loaded with full detail right away.)- Update:

"Thank you for contacting Adobe.
When you press the F11 button, Organizer 11 uses the Bicubic
interpolation mainly because it is less processor intensive compared to
Bicubic Sharper, and it helps to create the preview on the fly, rather
than based on the thumbnail cache.
When you zoom out from the 100% view, Elements Organizer uses Bicubic
Sharper. This is because Bicubic Sharper is used for image reduction, so
if the 100% view is larger than the available screen space, it will need
to shrink. The Bicubic Sharper images may look more crisp however, Like
any sharpening algorithm, Bicubic Sharper introduces halos and
edge-enhancement artifacts. Those halos are typically slight, but any
further sharpening (which you'll need when preparing an image for print,
for example) will exaggerate them.This is expected behavior. The
Organizer isn't great for determining exact quality, I recommend you to
use Elements Editor for this purpose.

Why I am wondering about the choice to use the "Bicubic" algorithm when pressing F11 in PSE 11 is that all previous versions of PSE that I owned (which spans from PSE 6 to PSE 10) did use the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm right away when pressing F11. So apparently Adobe didn't worry about processor intensity of this algorithm then, and computers are getting all the time more powerful.
It is true that in some situations, the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm may introduce halos and edge-enhancement artifacts, as you write. On the other hand, especially on smaller resolution screens, the results of the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm may look more crisp and lively, while the ones of the "Bicubic" algorithm may look more flat and lack fine detail. Therefore, I would highly appreciate an option as described above to be implemented in the PSE 11 organizer via an update. It should be fairly easy from a programming point of view, since both algorithms are already contained in the program anyway."

I'm currently running CS6. Recently I came across old discs for CS3 and CS4. Is there any reason to keep these?
No, if you have to reinstall CS6, the serial numbers are important and if you have not already, register them with Adobe.
You can then access them under your account anywhere you have an Internet connection.
If you reinstall CS6 on another computer your CS3 or CS4 numbers are important.
If for any reason, you need to reinstall CS3 or CS4, Adobe keeps the CS3 - CS6 Trial installers online so you can download them.

Missing Pictures.
Have made a rebbot from Time Machine, and now I lack a lot of pictures. Can see icons, but not enlarge them. Especially pictures where 2009 is included in the date is missing?
When I set up my desktop, I can find some of the pictures. Where do They hide, and what shall I do.

OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now? -
I have a mac OSX desktop version 10.6.8 and all of a sudden I can't get a full screen view in Safari when I ask for help the response is use the arrows on the top right of the screen ... I don't have them ... can anyone help?

I have 10.6.8, as you do. To make your Safari full screen, make sure you have the left hand side of your safari page moved all the way to the left. Then move your cursor to the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER of the safari page, and simply drag your page towards the lower right hand corner of the screen. NOTE: you will see a series of lines on the bottom right corner of the page, indicating where to place you cursor arrow.

I have a 13" macbook from 2009 and for some reason can no longer change my desktop image by just clicking on an image in system prererences>I-Photo. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Your Desktop Picture settings and Dock items are stored in the files
/Users/your short user name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist and
/Users/your short user name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
in the "Preferences" folder in your user library. This looks like the system has trouble to write to these files. Check the permissions on your user library and remove the above files from your user library, then log off and on again.
Your user library is hidden in Lion and Mt. Lion. To reveal it, use the Finder's "Go" menu. Select "Go" in the Finder's main menu bar and hold down the alt/option key, until you see the "Library" in the drop-down menu. Double click it to open a Finder window, so you can browse the files inside.

All of a sudden I am not receiving one of my gmails on my Mac mail account. I have a mobile me account, a cox account, a different gmail account and they all seem to be working. I tried deleting it and adding it again. No luck. Not sure what happened. I get the emails on my iphone and ipad just not coming in on my desktop for some reason. Any suggestions?
I actually deleted the account and re-added it as an IMAP account and it seems to be working. No idea why. My other account is still a POP account, but it never had any issues. Oh well. I'm getting them again on my desktop. Thanks for the response though!
