In finder, or say anything else such as downloaded files, I have to push open with in order to open the file. If I simply double-click on a document from finder, it does not open.
Hey guys. I have this problem where when I try to open say a document from finder, I have to push "open with."
Simply double-clicking does not work. I would greatly appreciate it if anybody could help.
Another unrelated problem is that when I push to open itunes, it says that it is on a locked disk.

Select a particular download file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With section choose the desired default application from the dropdown menu then click on the Change All button.
For .dmg files use DiskImageMounter (System/Library/CoreServices/ folder.)
For .zip files use Archiver - same folder as above - or download TheArchiver - MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.

There are several ways in which an add-on can cause iTunes to act erratically, such as those listed below:
- Loss of iTunes functionality, such as the Visualizer.
- Distortion or irregularity in the iTunes interface.
- Slow performance.
- iTunes won't open or quits unexpectedly.
- You see an alert while syncing stating "... cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified."
If you notice any of the above symptoms or other unusual behavior, you can disable any plug-ins not manufactured by Apple by opening iTunes in Safe Mode. This is done by holding down the Option and Command keys (on Mac OS X) or holding down the Shift and Control keys (on Windows) while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see the following dialog before iTunes finishes starting up:
"iTunes is running in Safe Mode. Visual plug-ins you have installed have been temporarily disabled."

None. An iPhone 5 requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer to be synced from a Mac, which is above the maximum for a PowerBook G4(10.5.8.)

Transaction iView(from remote source) does not open a new SAP session
Hi All,
We are on portal 7.4 and are calling a transaction from ECC system. Within the transaction we have a button which displays graphs based on the output of the transaction. Since we are calling this transaction from portal, a new session does not open after clicking on this button.
In order to enable a new session, I have changed the configuration for 'disable new session buttons in SAP GUI' to false yet the new SAP session does not open. I have also verified the webgui setting and ensured that we do not have '~singletransaction' maintained, yet we are unable to enable the new session. Could you kindly suggest on how I can get this button to function?
Additional inputs:
- Referred to note 125814 for changing the new sessions value.
- Tried changing the iview type to 'SAP GUI for window' from SAP HTML type(which was default).
- In case I type '/o' in the command box for SAP, it gives me a 'maximum sessions reached' message, but this message does not come when I click on this button. In fact, nothing happens after I click on the button.
I still think there might be a possibility to enable this, however, I seek your inputs on this.

I am a long time user of Macs. 20+ years.
This is my granddaughters 13" MacBook Pro we purchased for her in 2010 for college.
I have tried everything I know including firewire connection to my iMac while holding the T key, two different utilities CDs (will not open them) and held various key combinations as recommended while start up. Computer just beebs ever four seconds.
Battery is built-in but fully charged.

Can you count the beeps or flashes?
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

Weird error -43, when double-clicking a numbers document in finder
Steps to repro:
0) open a finder window at the location (e.g. ~/Desktop) you are going to save your numbers document.
1) create a new numbers document.
2) save the document to the directory (e.g. ~/Desktop) that you have already displaying open in the finder (<- very important)
3) switch to the finder and double click the numbers document.
4) I get a error -43 at that point.
5) To get around the error you have to change the directory to one up and then back to where the numbers document is or switch the view mode (cmd-1, cmd-2, cmd-3) .
Looks like the finder has problems with recently saved numbers documents.
Even weirder:
Press cmd-I on the numbers document in the finder after you just saved it. The numbers document disappears and so doeas the Information dialog. What the heck?

I tried as well, now saving to the desktop, which is on a seperate volume.
I had the problem saving to the work volume.
It seems to have to do with permissions.
I checked "Ignore ownership on this volume" and applied it to all subdirs.
Seems to have solved the issue. -
My iPhone 3GS has worked like a charm. I stupidly agreed to do the software update today, and now both of my computers ignore it. Both computers are Mac. Both are updated. This is extremely frustrating, since I need my phone today for work purposes, and since I can't add music to it...it's basically useless. I use it as an MP3 player to play music during wedding Cocktail Hours.

Whenever I click on an Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft Office does not open the file, instead it opens Excel but without any content.

I did not use my computer yesterday, and now all of a sudden, Firework does not open at all after clicking on its icon or starting as a program. I did not download any upgrades or anything else, and I have Norton 360 version 3. I can open Internet Explorer, but that's not my default browser, so I have no problem with the Internet connection.
What could be the problem, how can I restore my browser without losing my bookmarks, settings, etc?

I understand that when you click on Edit this task in the message bar in InfoPath 2010, nothing happens. Does this happen when you open the email which contains the ‘Edit this task’ link?
