In firefox 23.01 content in Desire2Learn CMS is inaccessible due to the shield.

The new feature in Firefox 23.01 breaks content links in the desire2learn CMS. The issue is that when students or users click on a quicklink in a course the link is displayed in a frame. It also disappears because it is blocked. However, the shield is not displayed because it is in a frame. There is no way to fix this short of instructions on the about:config modification. Our solution until this is fixed it to recommend other browsers.

Are you saying it is (1) an insecure frame or iframe in the top level document, or (2) an insecure frame or iframe within a secure frame or iframe within the top level document?
Someone might need to see a demo of this to really understand what is happening. Then a reduced test case could be created and a specific bug could be filed.

In WLP 10.0, the maximum String property length was increased.
I believe the max String property length depends on the DB type. It always at least 4000 characters. For Oracle, it is 4254 characters.

On the left side of my address bar it is showing that firefox has blocked content that is insecure, whenevr I'm using facebook or any other apps related to it.

Firefox is blocking content from almost all the websites.
It is even showing that for this page.
Every time I refresh the facebook page/ an app on the facebook this will appear.
Previously it used to crash firefox, then I upgraded it but since then it is just keeping on blocking if the gray/ geen colored padlock is active on the left side of the address bar.
So every time I get this error I have to refresh the page & again disable protection on the page.
If the website is verified then is firefox blocking almost everything.

I would recommend running the latest version, Firefox 25. Improvements are always being made based on user feedback.
Starting in Firefox 23, if a secure page includes certain types of insecure content, Firefox blocks the insecure content and a shield icon will appear in the address bar. To temporarily allow the mixed content to be displayed:

At SAP I am aware of the following similar terms:
KM - Java-based CMS, integration framework for 3rd party CMS's and more of SAP NetWeaver, runs in the Portal
CM - The architectural part of KM that deals with basic content management services. With additional services and TREX this combines to KM.
DMS - "Document management system", R/3-based system for management of engineering documents, bases on "KPro" in Web AS ABAP, part of mySAP PLM, integrates into KM via repository manager
KW - KPro-based system for managing SAP-related documentation and training
Content Server - Object storage location for KPro-managed documents (see DMS)
KPro - "Knowledge Provider", deep level very generic set of ABAP methods to manage document attachment objects in an R/3 environment

Sorry, I don't think that is a message from inside Firefox, the wording doesn't sound correct - at least the beginning of that message. My "gut" thinks that is a MSN Live message to explain and compensate for their lack of security with a re-direct from a secure domain to an un-secure domain. ''(the end of that message)''
{Ctrl + Shft + J} will open the Firefox Error Console - I'm curious what Firefox has to say about that situation. If you find the error message for that domain, you can right-click the message to '''copy''' it and then paste that error message here.
Maybe '''TonyE''' or '''cor-el''' will be more familiar with the situation at Live and maybe at Google Reader, I don't use either of those services and have never seen a message like that myself.

How can I stop Firefox from blocking content on certain websites?

I have a website that I use for school, and everytime I log on there is content on a page that is blocked. To unblock it, I have to click on the shield drop down menu and click allow so it can display the content. But this is time consuming because it sends me back to the homepage of that class and I have to go through a series of links once again to reach the content once more. Is there anyway that I can add this website to a specific list of do not block, because between that and pop-ups constantly being blocked, it's very hard to get anything done. I can no longer receive my email through firefox. Also my facebook account doesn't show some of the profile pictures show a different person on someone's name. It appears this is a firefox issues as when I go to explorer it is not a problem at all.

Also, on my facebook page, profile pictures aren't showing up on some people and on some people a totally different person is showing up. Firefox 27.0.1 on a Mac OS 10.9.2 the button to enable javascript is missing

I am having a problem with the BBC iPlayer playing in a separate pop-out player. Their support people have asked me to check that javascript running is enabled.
In the Preferences content tab there is no button to enable Javascript, in fact the Preference screen looks nothing like the picture on the support sites.
I have found that other preference items have moved in Mavericks after I upgraded and I would be pleased if you could tell me how to get Firefox working properly again. FYI I have no problem with the pop-out issue with Chrome or Safari

There is a known issue for Firefox 10 on Windows. It involves AVG Safe Search making the "Enter" key not work in the Location/URL bar. AVG needs to fix the problem with their Add-on for Firefox.

Yes, apparently I was in Private Browsing mode. I guess FireFox came up in that mode when I started it for the first time. Changed to Remember History mode, Import was then usable and I was able to import my Internet Explorer favorites. Thanks TonyE...

Why is the contents of Safari's downloads folder different than the actual folder?

Why is the contents of Safari's downloads folder different than the actual folder that resides in my users folder?

Problem is if I delete that .plist I'll delete those downloads. I'm still able to launch those downloads from that location so that tells that file is probably not corrupted. I need to be able to located that folder and transfer the downloads from it before I do anything like this. So that begs the question, where is that folder located? When I do a folder search I'm taken to a Downloads folder, but it's not the one that is showing up from within Safari as it's contents are too different.

When I open Firefox within a few seconds I get a wierd popup in the top left corner that says "want more options?" Anyone know what this is?

Its a small box with a picture of a mouse that wants me to click and it will not let me do anything else, I can't close firefox without task manager or click on any other areas.
